My Current Obsessions

How are we almost done with the month of March already? It seems like 2021 is flying by! I hope your 2021 has been as exciting and eventful so far. I know 2021 has brought some new things into my life. Say if you will obsessions, as my boyfriend does. Some have been new hobbies, new collections, and food or drinks. In this post, I’m outing myself on all the new obsessions of mine so far in 2021! 

Squishmellows - Come on people it’s 2021 if you aren’t collecting these by now get with it! They are the new Webkinz. I’m a child at heart!

Disney Doorables - This one is another one that you need to jump on the train of. They are the cutest little mini Disney characters. When you open up the door it’s a mystery to see which characters you got and how many. Again child at heart!

Target Bullets Playground - I swear I go once or twice a week it’s not healthy for my bank account. 

Coloring Books - This is one of my new self-care activities. I highly suggest going to your nearest craft store and purchasing one for yourself. 

Watermelon Punch Booster Tea - A new boosted tea recipe perfect for getting me in that summer mood. 

Reading - Not really a new one but still obsessed even more will help from my Book of the Month subscription box! 

Reds Only Package of Mini Unwrapped Starburst - I can eat a whole big bag in a day… again unhealthy. 

Sparkling Ice Drinks - The lemon-lime is the best hands down! 

ColorStreet Nails - Support your entrepreneur girlfriends while having amazing nails that last longer than a $75 manicure! 

Paint by Diamonds - A great art project for the weekend or as another self-care activity. I currently am doing all the Winnie the Pooh characters. I find it very relaxing and your hand doesn’t cramp up on you like coloring for a long time will.

5 Things I Do to Stay Organized

As we all know by now I’m an organization freak. I like to keep busy and have a problem saying no to really about anything. Which surprisingly hasn’t been that big of a deal yet in my life. I have my many planners and calendars to thank for that. My organization OCD doesn’t stop at just organizing my life it stems over into my home, work, and school life also. In today’s post, I’m going to give you five things that I do to stay organized!

1. I write my monthly schedule in one of my planners and on a desk calendar that I hang up above my desk. I have everything color-coded the same so nothing gets mixed up or forgotten. 

2. I use my other planner for daily to-dos that need to be done each day.  I take time Sunday night to schedule out each item that needs to be done for the week. This has been so helpful when it comes to schoolwork or work projects. I spread out the workload throughout the week so I don’t get overworked or stressed out about a deadline.

3. For school, I use a binder for each class. I try not to get the same colors so there are no duplicates. I keep any hard copy papers, three-hole-punched and organized by date. The oldest being in the front and the newest in the back of the binder. 

4. I keep my room and closet clean and organized every single day. I can’t stand having clutter around in my space, especially on my desk. I clean my space in the first couple of free minutes I have in the morning before going to work or school and then again before going to bed. 

5. Lastly, I have a specific bag for each event in my life. What does that mean? It means I have a normal purse that I carry around all the time. A lunch bag that I carry with me everywhere with snacks and drinks because I never know when I’m going to have time to eat with my busy schedule. I have a separate bag for school when I do go on campus for classes and a bag for my volleyball tournaments. Keeping a separate bag for each event means not having to transfer items from bag to bag and most importantly not forgetting anything because everything is already set to go.

Hello March! A new month means new goals! I have categorized mine into sections of my life I like to keep on top of. I have found that if you write your goals down and have an accountability buddy you achieve them more often than not. We can be each others’ accountability buddies! Dropped New Years Resolutions

With a New Year comes New Year Resolutions, and by now many of us have given them up already. I want to know what some of your New Year Resolutions are and whether you have kept with them or have dropped them in the comments below. I did some research on the reasons we dropped our New Years Resolutions in the first month or two. 92% of New Year Resolutions get dropped for the following reasons.

You’re treating a marathon like a sprint. You put the cart before the horse. You don’t believe in yourself. Too much thinking, not enough doing. You’re in too much of a hurry. You don’t enjoy the process. You’re trying too hard. You don’t track your progress. You have no social support. You know you want but not your why.

Could one of these be the reason you dropped your New Years Resolution this year? I definitely know one of my resolutions I dropped was because of multiple of these reasons. Who else always states that they are going to get in shape this year? I know I do almost every month but then stop after a couple of weeks. I go through all the reasons above. But NOT this year!

I will not treat the marathon as a sprint. Getting in shape is a lifestyle, not a fad for once a couple of weeks. I will not supplement. I will work towards a healthier diet while working out to get in shape. I will start believing in myself more each day by doing morning affirmations. I will stop thinking so much and start doing more. I will stop rushing the process. I will try my best but know that I may not succeed every day. I will track my progress every two weeks. I will have social support with my boyfriend and friends. I will make a why statement and hang it somewhere I can see it every day.

Valentine’s Day Date Ideas

Valentine’s Day is only a couple of days away! Do you have your date night all figured out? Or do you still need some ideas? Don’t worry I got a couple of ideas for you guys below.  Now guys I know the Daytona 500 Race is on Valentine’s Day this year but you still need to take your girl somewhere else that doesn’t involve you screaming at the TV. 

Unplug by taking a hike. Whether it be your favorite local spot or travel to a new destination spot. 

Learn how to craft cocktails through an online mixology class. 

Play tourist in your own town. Don’t forget to capture pictures along the way. 

Set up a waffle bar in your kitchen. All you need is some waffle batter, a waffle maker, and all the toppings your hearts desire.

Make a scrapbook of your relationship. Gather up photos of your relationship, old ticket stubs, and meaningful receipts, and make a beautiful book that you'll both treasure!

Enjoy chocolate and wine tasting by following a pairing guide. 

Cook dinner together. A special home-cooked meal can be so much more romantic than going out to eat at a super busy restaurant.

Have a romantic movie marathon. Grab the popcorn and settle in on the couch for an evening filled with your favorite rom-coms

Send your partner on a treasure hunt. Send your significant other on a scavenger hunt dotted with trails of rose petals and handwritten clues to find their Valentine's Day gift.

Give each other a massage. Grab a bottle of body oil, set the mood with candles and soft background music, and give your partner at least 30 minutes of massage therapy.

My Favorite Thanksgiving Food

Thanksgiving is TOMORROW! I consider Thanksgiving one of the best holidays. You get to eat the best food, be around family, and then end with a shopping trip the next day for Black Friday! Everyone’s Thanksgiving food is different from family to family. My family has our own traditions when it comes to the food we prepare. Here is what a typical Thanksgiving spread looks like with my family! 

Turkey - everyone in my family will take a turkey over ham any day! 

Stuffing - my mom makes a homemade stuffing that beats every out of the box stuffing there is. 

Quebalic - this is a family recipe that has been passed down from my dad’s side of the family. It is barley, butter, and so many different spices. It’s 100 percent, my all-time favorite food. 

Green Beans and Bacon - the typical dish. 

Gravy - another typical. I use it to dip my turkey because I’m not much for mashed potatoes.
