Ariel was too ashamed to admit what she had done. It is something she does not wish to share to her offspring that her mother SHED BLOOD that is similar to hers. She knew her father and eldest sister Attita have fought many battles, but kept it to themselves about the carnage. But to tell her daughter that her mother's victim is her great aunt is not easy to speak of.

I love the end of Return to the Sea, but let's be extremely real, Eric and Ariel would 100% have a lot of explaining to do, and Melody absolutely has the right to be angry at them.
