her  hands  cupped  his  cheeks,  cherry  lips  first  planting  a  kiss  on  his  mouth  to  silence  him,  then  to  travel  to  a  spot  on  his  right  cheek  that  her  thumb  had  just  stroked,  soft  pecks  finding  their  way  towards  his  earlobe.  having  an  entire  afternoon  and  night  on  their  own  was  a  rarity,  and  a  babysitter  like  t’pring  even  more  so.  a  good  five  minutes  of  complete  silence  had  passed  before  padmé  had  begun  to  pamper  the  half  of  her  heart  with  kisses  in  the  kitchen  as  they’d  watched  amma  and  t’pring  eventually  turn  around  the  corner. ❝ ... on… the counter ? ❞ she murmured suggestively, ❝ ... bed ? ❞
Wax in her soft and skilled hands, that was what he was. He shivered pleasantly at every kiss she gifted him, his want growing by the moment. Padmé never required much to make Obi-Wan pounce her, but usually they were in a more private and comfortable environment. Anyone who deemed themselves above the simple but effective comfort of a bed was a fool. At the same time he was of course not beyond trying anything new with her.
He saw the last traces of T'Pring's long raven hair swish around the corner and heard Amma's enthusiastic babbling grow quiet. He wouldn't have thought that a Vulcan could make for such a good babysitter and was delighted to be proven wrong.
"Counter, of course," he smiled, eyes dark with love and lust. He reached for her narrow waist and lifted Padmé onto said counter. They had never tried this before, especially not in the presence of someone, but Vulcans had sharp hearing and T'Pring would take Amma somewhere else to give them privacy.
Eager for more kisses, Obi-Wan locked their lips while skilled fingers began to undress her. No matter how intricate Padmé's garments were - and she possessed very elaborate pieces - he had made it his own personal mission to train and perfect his undressing skills. At times they were in a hurry, so this ability came in handy.

@alootus: ☄ oh.
Obi-Wan would have never thought that there was such joy to be found in a mundane life. Of course a part of him had always wondered about it. It was human nature to crave what one did not have, Jedi or no, and the unknown held a fascination.
Back then when he was fifteen years younger, he couldn't have imagined ever forsaking the Jedi path for anything, or anyone. Not even Satine had coaxed him away from his oath, though in all fairness, she had never truly tried. Perhaps she would have been successful after all.
Now, things had changed. The war had demanded a lot from him and Padmé was giving him so much. It had been the only right choice to say goodbye to his old life and embrace his new one. He was done giving and ready to receive.
To his fellow Jedi it may seem like he had traded a life of excitement for boredom, but that was not true. Marriage was its own adventure and wild ride. Living together with a wife was different compared to living with a community. Raising a child was a different kind of difficult, compared to saving a hostage.
And Padmé never ceased to amaze him with her endless patience, understanding and love, making each day a joy.
Now, as they walked on a street in the upper levels of Coruscant - the pretty part of the planet naturally, and Obi-Wan's favourite - their hands entwined, a rogue speeder proved that you can take the Jedi out of the temple, but you can't take the temple out of the Jedi. Obi-Wan's superior reflexes and foresight made him grab Padmé and all their purchases, and he pulled her away from the incoming vehicle that crashed into a glass window of a boutique.
"Do you think he crashed the speeder on purpose?" Obi-Wan asked dryly, glaring at the driver who was either drunk or had made a poor attempt on his wife's life - which was another factor that kept his life interesting.

When Obi-Wan got in contact with an elusive informant for a mission that should have been easy enough, the other refused to communicate with him. At first Obi-Wan believed he simply may not wish to interact with Jedi in general anymore, having found someone who paid him more. But after annoying the man for so long, he at least revealed that he only spoke to a certain Jedi.
One trip to the archives later, after having looked through recent mission logs, Obi-Wan saw that Padawan Rey had been the last Jedi on that planet, not too long ago, on a mission of her own.
Obi-Wan went to look for her in the temple and hoped she was even on Coruscant. His face lit up when he spotted her, walking through a hallway. Catching up to her, Obi-Wan offered her a nod of his head in greeting.
"Don't be scared. I just need you to come with me for a minute."
Alright. That did come off a little unsettling. He had to laugh at how he managed to accidentally make it sound nefarious.

At first he believed he may be hallucinating and that the concussion they had given him granted him, at the very least, a very self-indulgent fantasy being played out before his eyes.
But no, the cries of pain and the whacks of the baton were very much real. It was a beautiful sight to behold. Xue Li was so swift and moved with the grace of a dancer. Every strike was accurate and calculated, a stark contrast to the chaotic, panicked moves of the smugglers, who had obviously not expected her here.
Obi-Wan blinked like an owl, utterly besotted as carnage took its course around him. He had managed to roll onto his side to watch, as the last two men, who had been close to him, rushed Xue Li in a combination of stupidity and hubris. Or perhaps they knew that even if they had ran, she wouldn't have spared them.
"You're a sight for sore eyes, my beauty." Obi-Wan said fondly, voice still slightly wheezy. All the air in his lungs had fled when his stomach had been kicked.
He turned onto his back, taking deep breaths and closing his eyes to let them rest for a moment. Slowly the world stopped spinning. He knew Xue Li was close, as the familiar scent of her perfume drifted over to him like a butterfly.
"Did any of those goons drop a key, perhaps?" The shackles beneath him dug into his back and were phsyical reminders of his very stupid mistake.

xue li may not be as powerful as some of the entities that existed in coruscant's underbelly but plenty of people knew not to cross her. apparently, however, not everyone got that damned memo. she couldn't tell if it was a targeted attack just due to his status as a jedi knight, a trophy to show off to other's or if it was to send a message directly to her. if xue li knew these kind, probably both. this entire thing made her stomach twist in knots, nausea thick in her as she made her way through the streets. fury in brown eyes. she could tell that people were aware of things being amiss with the way they separated and moved to the side walks. right hand lifted to unclasp a bracelet that was wrapped half way up her arm, flicking it hard as it connected into a baton. it was not really an understatement that she was seeing red. she hated when her things were messed with and unfortunately for these bastards, obi-wan kenobi was included into her things now. as time stretched it made her more anxious and furious. but thankfully, xue li had weasled some information free and walked into the warehouse. it was all happening in a blur almost, the ease of which xue li used her smaller frame and quickness to rid of the main smugglers 'guarding' the area before strutting into the main floor, dark eyes narrowed in on obi-wan and it takes everything inside of her to not run at them, letting out a blood curdling scream of absolute fury. " if you really craved my attention that much, you could have came to the bar. " xue li spoke evenly but her tone dripped ice and venom as she walked forward, blood splattered along her silk gown as they all slowly spun toward her, running and with a speed she only learned from living in the beast's belly does she dart forward, swinging her baton out and snapping it against their legs, knees, guts until one by one was folded to the floor.

Bold was an apt way to describe Ben. Having lost far too much did that to a man, who had nothing more to lose. He had only managed to cling to his sanity by taking step after step. Day after day. Enjoying every small interaction for what it was. He didn't plan for the future anymore but rather lived each day the way it fell.
Still, having more money would solve a lot of his problems. Keeping a low profile was surprisingly expensive. Ben would prefer to keep to himself more but he needed to make a living and staying away without the wealth that would provide him with a stash of food and drink was no option.
Because he needed to work, he had to show more of himself, and this lead to him hiding in plain sight. At first he had been nervous, scared even. Every gaze made him feel exposed and fear someone recognized him. He had been sure that the Empire was on the way to collect his head. Eventually he had gotten used to the uneasy peace. 'Obi-Wan Kenobi is a barkeep in a cantina on Tatooine' sounded like an information the Empire would ignore anyways.
"I'm Ben, and I'm very much interested in what you're offering."
Had someone told him that in the future he would become an informant for what could only be the boss of a crime syndicate, Ben would have deemed them crazy. His fall from grace was truly embarrassing.
"But how do you know that I'm not already sworn to someone else? A competitor perhaps?"
There was a mild smile on his bearded face, indicating that he was in fact not sworn to anyone. He was merely very curious. Ben may not approve of criminal activities but not even he was immune to the fascination.

Turning his gaze towards the barman a pair of sharp blue eyes fixed onto him, analysing the figure before him. It was strange for him to be addressed so directly, usually his entourage put off the majority from making any form of contact. Nyx’s various other associates were already tracking down the Rodian, he had a reputation to uphold, and an example had to be made. They would be brought to a place with no witnesses, no peaking shadows and a lasting statement would be made, you either showed Axel respect, or you would not be doing any form of business with anyone ever again. He had heard rumours about the barman in question, he wondered if he came cheaply, he could use the eyes and ears of someone in such an establishment with a range of paying customers.
“Yes well occasionally they learn what is good for them” his comment was clear, cutting. If only he knew, he didn’t do forgiveness often, even if he wouldn’t be the one wiping away green blood, someone else would be. Under his employees were a range of different experts, cutthroats and various individuals that when grouped, made up an organisation very similar to the criminal syndicates of the galaxy. The Crimson Dawn had attempted to recruit him on two separate occasions, the Hutts searched for him, and he had a way of planting mixed intel to confuse the latter, just for fun. “Considering where you are standing, you are very bold. What do I call you? Do you fancy a pay rise, I don’t ask for much, only those beautiful blue eyes and those ears of yours to be put to good use.”

A Jedi without a lightsaber wasn't entirely helpless, but he prefered being a Jedi with a lightsaber. Despite the blow to his head that made his ears ring, Obi-Wan could feel the vague chime of his kyber crystal, revealing that his lightsaber was nearby. He blinked a few times, trying to rid his eyes of the blurriness that covered them like a film and only got a kick to his stomach for his troubles.
"I don't care for your hospitality," he groaned, eyes now shut as he rolled on the ground and rested on his stomach, away from the offending foot. "It's true what they say. Good manners start at home." He reached out his hand and used the Force to call his lightsaber to him, but a man instantly placed his boot on the hilt and pinned it down. Obi-Wan then felt both his hands being grasped and tied up behind his back. How very rude.
A few more blinks later his vision finally cleared and the large warehouse came into view. Far too many members of this smuggler ring surrounded him and all Obi-Wan could do was to submit for now, while he tried to work out an escape plan.

What was Qui-Gon Jinn like? It was difficult to put it into words. The man had been a storm wrapped in Jedi robes. Each time Obi-Wan had thought he knew him perfectly, Qui-Gon had gone and done something completely unexpected. He was like ever shifting water, the current never remaining the same, neither in direction nor in intensity. He had managed to be caring and callous at the same time. At times he had been too occupied with himself to care for Obi-Wan, but he had never failed to let Obi-Wan feel safe and protected regardless.
"He was magnificent." Obi-Wan's voice was thick with admiration. "Every Jedi carves their own way. We all agree on the basics, I hope, but inticracies are left up for interpretation and debate. He and I differed in many regards but he was a good man, Rey, through and through. Not always the best with feelings, an infuriating contrarian and tactless to a fault but he thaught me so much and helped shaping me into the man I am today. I think you would have liked him and he would have absolutely adored you."
It was no mistake to miss and to grieve, no matter whether you were a Jedi or no, but Obi-Wan still hoped that one day the loss of his Master would stop being a wound and become merely a smarting scar. It should be that, for he would be a poor Master to Anakin if the baggage of the past distracted him too much. And Qui-Gon did always reprimand him to live in the moment and not dawdle in the past or worry of the future.
"Let's find your star system then." Obi-Wan moved to sit by her side, palm brushing his beard as he studied the screen. Rey obviously already put the work in and he was rather impressed by how creative her approaches were. "Oh, very good search words. Very smart of you to filter for the connections between the Grey Girdle and Hutt space. It's the place with the most uncharted planets indeed."
He pointed at a small little dot at the very edge of the Girdle. "Grey Star One. Terrible place. Even the vines have a mouth with thousands of razor sharp teeth. The planet is one big carnivore. We really do not want Master Yoda's planet to be anywhere close to it, because if science is anything to go by, the sister star system has to be similar to it. But I can't imagine he'd send you to such a dreadful place." Obi-Wan then frowned. Surely Yoda wouldn't?

Under  Obi-Wan’s  curious  gaze  Rey  looked  down  to  avoid  meeting  his  eyes,  awaiting  his  verdict  on  whether  or  not  she  was  in  trouble.  The  sound  of  his  warm  amusement  and  supportive  guidance  brought  a  flicker  of  a  smile  to  the  padawan’s  face,  finding  herself  to  be  quickly  at  ease  thanks  to  his  kind  aura.  Obi-Wan  had  likely  saved  her  from  the  wrath  of  the  archives  librarian,  had  she  been  the  one  to  catch  Rey meditating instead.
Tumblr media
Rey  recognised  the  name  Obi-Wan  referenced,  though  she  knew  very  little. “I  never  got  the  chance  to  meet  Master  Qui-Gon,  but  Master  Yoda  speaks  of  him  sometimes.”  Hesitating,  Rey was uncertain  if  Obi-Wan  would  mind  her  interest. “What  was  he  like?” It  was  hard to remember  that  even  Jedi  like  Master  Kenobi  were  padawan  learners too,  once.
“I’m  searching for  a  star  system,” she  revealed, “there’s  a  planet  I’ve  been  asked  to  find.  Then  I  have to prepare  to  travel there for  further  training.  Master  Yoda  wants  me  to…”  frowning,  Rey  recalled  his  words, “focus  on  the  present by  learning  the  mistakes  of  the  past.”
