hI SO the basic idea for this AU is Starscream/Ulchtar is an Autobot - never a decepticon here, and is Optimus Prime's SIC. To explain a bit about the name here, Ulchtar is his name while 'Starscream'/'Starscream of Kaon' is more an alias he gained. One of this designs inspirations was Gao Changgong, a Northern Qi dynatsy general whose face was described as so beautiful he wore a horrific mask to intimidate his enemies. Ulchtar uses it in a similar way here, as he doesn't think his face is intimidating!

Optimus is also rather different in this AU - in that he's always been Optimus, never Orion Pax (this is important!!). Primes in this au are essentially 'sentinels' created to be awakened as guardians/enforcers before returning to stasis and their memory is erased. Ulchtar accidentally awakened Optimus while fighting for his life at the start of story, though Optimus was awakened intentionally pre-story as an enforcer.

While Optimus is a leader, his position as a Prime actually makes it so he *isn't* the autobot leader in totality. Also Ulchtar does (playful) assassination attempts on him as a bonding exercise / make sure Optimus is always up to snuff (because I think it's funny).

So this seems to be pretty 1:1 with the Fate/Extra Manga Adaptation (ft. very historically accurate outfits lemme tell ya). The wording is weird; but it seems that Agrippina was still assassinated, and Nero is either 1) coming by as she dies, or 2) talking post humorously.

Either way; Fate already plays it fast and loose with Nero, and with the historical records we do have being so biased and called into question because of that bias - who fucking knows.

It kind of seems like it's implied nero poisoned agrippina and also was present for her death which I don't get bc despite the multiple semi conflicting accounts of how she died isn't it generally thought she was a) stabbed b) Nero was nowhere near her when it happened

$80 games. fucking eighty USD for a game that, to my knowledge, does not contain any new expensive chips or technology. to make matters worse, you're paying that much money for a cartridge that doesn't even have the game on it. you're paying $80 for a download code on a card that requires you to connect to the internet first in order to play the game you dropped nearly $100 on.

this was always going to be the logical end point of companies trying out $70 games. now they realise people will pay anything and it's definitely going to get worse from here. it's like 90's game prices but there's no special chips or production things that make the price of a cartridge even more expensive. you are paying $80 to ask for permission to play a game you bought lol.

to make it all so much more insulting the boxes are fucking ugly as hell too, looking like a super scuffed "greatest hits" type thing by default with the massive banner on the front taking up nearly 25% of the little box. literally what is the incentive to buy a $500 console and an $80 game with the same cuntless nothing minimal UI and designs as the last one. if there's any fairness left in the world this thing will be cracked wide open year one.

Despite everything, this has done exactly the flanderization and cherrypicking you claimed was not happening with Shinji's detractors.

Shinji Matou is an entitled teenager from a rich family, with a wounded ego from being outdone by his adoptive sister, who abuses every girl in his reach to mend his own pride.

Shinji Matou is certainly born into a rich family - a rich family that despises him. He is placed with impossible standards and when he doesn't meet those, the people blamed are him and his mother. And his mother is punished by being eaten alive in the same worm pit his adoptive sister (who was literally adopted as his REPLACEMENT) would be abused with. He grows up in a household that hates women to their very core. The family magic is literally *rape worms*. And he comes home, after being sent away because his own father couldn't be bothered with him, and suddenly he has a sister. A sister that is meant to replace him. To be every thing he's not - and yet he doesn't hate her at first. He's rude and doesn't know how to act around her , but he still loves the idea of having a little sister. And then he accidentally sees the extent of her abuse. He witnesses her in the worm pit - and the little structure he has completely disappears. His father refuses to even acknowledge him anymore - and this is only happening to her because he wasn't born with magic (because of his mother, a third-rate magus' daughter). He is abuser, yes- undeniable. He treats Sakura like shit. And he's ALSO a victim of their family. He’s not a perfect victim - he perpetrates the cycle (and doesn't know anything outside that cycle) — but only after it eats him and spits him out.

Even regardless of the above - Sakura is meant to be wholly sympathetic while Shinji is meant to be wholly unsympathetic. Sakura is also a manipulator, because she is ALSO from the cycle of trauma. But Nasu only lets her be saved - and only so Shirou can be the hero. Why is sexual assault shoved into a story in such a fetishistic way and why is that NOT an issue with the writing you are using to say is proof Shinji deserves to be punished for being a Matou?

Unpopular opinion: Everything i've said so far probably, because the fandom has this weird obsession with portraying him as a completely unsympathetic monster to the point he's been retroactively flanderized (a common Nasu-ism in itself) into playing into such an identity as shown in things like the anime adaptations of Stay Night. it's very telling a fanbase so obsessed with uwufying sakura is also obsessed with portraying someone directly intertwined with her trauma and suffering plenty in his own right as someone who is nothing more than another one of her abusers to be violently killed off.
