Day 3 and 4

Well I forgot to post so yay two days in one. I'll edit this post when they become available on Ao3.

Day 3: Wave

My Supergirl, the girl with pearl-like teeth, infectious laughter, that mischievous grin, you have changed my world. It's you who moved me past my bleak black and white view, introducing me to vibrant screaming colours. They live in your movements, the twinkle in your eye as the sun catches it just right, your sun kissed skin but most of all, they live in your soul. A wave laps at our ankles, the rainbows reflecting off of the jewellery adorning them. Your laugh, so bright, so full, a yellow so bright it drowns out others, drives away shadows. A wave begins to build within my chest, one not contained by its cavity, a wave of hope, of overwhelming joy, that leaks from my eyes as tears. Your hand cups my cheek, it's okay, you explain, my eyes flicker close, you have me and there is nowhere else I'd rather be.

Day 4: Taste

We settle into a routine, us against the world. Dappled sunlight filters into our kitchen, your hand on mine as we stir the pot, the contents bubble as they mix into each other the same way our bodies melt into each other. Our breaths mingle with the steam rising in the air, fragrances dance along my nose, your hand raises mine, spoon and all and the clang of metal on metal shatters the invisible barriers between our world and the outer world. You raise the spoon to my mouth, slipping it between my teeth, the taste explodes across my tongue,the seasoned sauce beginning a dance of its own. I smile, my back arching so that I am looking up at you. Your mouth covers mine, vanilla and cinnamon flavours pooling into the crevices of my mouth, mingling with and eventually overpowering the remnants of the sauce we were crafting. The spicy-sweet combination would be overpowering for many but for me, like everything when it comes to you, the taste is perfect.

Your head tucks into my shoulder, a blanket wrapped around us. Firelight dances along your hair, turning, twisting, looping, as graceful as a waltz. The fire's heat licks at our bodies, exploring, curious, teasing but yet, overall comforting. You shift against me, your gaze meeting mine, ensnaring me, I am yours, you already know. I kiss the smirk off your face, a new kind of heat developing. Passionate, raw, spreading like wildfire, so right, my heart sings, a song of hope mounting to a fever pitch. I am yours and you are mine and whatever we face, we are where we're meant to be, forever.

Day 1: Salt

The salt air teases your hair, my fingers trapped in its embrace. My eyes catch yours, the golden sand reflects back at me, teeth like pearls nibbling on the corner of the mouth that encases them and freckles dot your flushed cheeks at random intervals. The birds call out our song even as my lips find the tip of your nose, a gasp escapes you. Your hand finds the back of my neck teasing the bun my hair is swept up into. Everything feels so right. You call me your wonder woman, but my dear you have always been my Supergirl, together we stand. Frozen in time.

Kanye claimed he's autistic "Like rainman" and I have to explain why this is a Nazi dogwhistle that's being normalized with modern autistic media.

In Nazi Germany, there was Nazi doctor that sorted autistic people into two groups. The "high functioning" autistic people be labeled "Aspergers" and they were the "useful autistics" so they got to live. The "low functioning" autistic people got thrown into camps. The doctor's name was Asperger and it's a large reason why the modem autistic community doesn't like functioning labels. They have root in Nazi Germany and eugenics.

Why is Kanye comparing himself to rainman a Nazi dogwhistle? Because there's an alt-right pipeline in the autistic community rooted in Aspie supremacy (aspergers supremacy). And said pipeline has become more normalized in modern media with TV like Rick and Morty and The Good Doctor. Where the autistic representation are the "good autistics" or the "useful autistics" with savant syndrome.

You cannot have this idea of high vs low functioning autism without also acknowledging that this idea only exists because Nazis put those labels on people to eugenics the autistic community.

So yeah. "Kanye did Nazi shit" is a tired point to make in 2022, but I had to point out that his normalizing the idea of autistic people being a super genius is itself a Nazi dog whistle. And it's a dog whistle that's being increasingly normalized with autism in media unit being portrayed as super geniuses with savant syndrome.

Yelena Belova is CONFIRMED Asexual in the comics. "I'm not anything" is a phrase I myself have used in the past and I've also heard others use it. It's an easy enough description to use.

"But nothing was said about her being Aromantic"

It's important to note here that while the split attraction model is useful especially when someone is not both Aromantic and Asexual we are NOT required to use it.

Using Asexual as our singular identity is just as valid a way to say we're not attracted to anyone. Just as Bisexual is a valid way to say that you are attracted to multiple genders.

In an interview her creator specifically said that she wasn't likely to "follow Nat's romantic path"

"But this is the MCU not the comics, things could be different"

The fact that you feel like you can say this when you would likely be up in arms if someone tried to say the same thing about a gay or lesbian character in the comics says a lot. It's aphobic and really shitty, stop it. Get over yourself and give us the same fucking respect.

"But it's only fanfiction/headcanons/ a ship what harm are we doing"

It's erasure. Erasure of an identity that's important to so many people, erasure of an identity I needed as a kid when my 10 and 11 year old classmates were kissing each other and dating, as a teen when I sat in my sex Ed class wondering why I was uninterested even as all my classmates were filled with nervous excitement.

Erasure of an identity that has practically no mainstream representation.

Representation is vital for all LGBTQIA+ identities, Asexual included, it saves lives.

And Yelena is great rep something Asexuals and especially Aromantics have been denied time and time again in mainstream media.

"Some AroAce people get in relationships"

Yes, they do but using this to justify a ship especially if you aren't aroace yourself or haven't done adequate research by talking to aroace people about their relationships. It can come across as though you think that finding your "ship" is what makes a human. This isn't the case and it dehumanises people like me.

Bottom line: please respect us and Yelena. She's already a badass.
