2: Hope’s Birthday

The day finally approached where our beautiful baby daughter would finally reach her 1st birthday.

“Are you ready baby?”

Hope’s eyes glittered and she donned a sweet innocent smile. Hugh, Joy and I counted down and then 3 seconds later at 3:35 in the afternoon she was officially 1.

“Happy Birthday Hope!” I exclaimed

“Your finally 1 sweetie! How exciting.” Hugh’s voice had finally drifted from the usual goo-goo ga-ga.

“Oh my what a big girl you are! “ Joy had this expression on her face. One that just couldn’t be explained with words. Like she swa more than just a birthday. It meant more to her

Hugh and I held our now not so little girl and we looked eachother with un-taintable happiness.

When Hope was born the clouds were lifted and all our worries and struggles disappeared. She reminded us of why we kept going and why this life was worth living. She reminded us to always have Hope. Nothing is more precious to me than my own child.
