Despite the media speculating about Elizabeth & Philip’s marriage, here some excerpts from papers at that time following the Lisbon’s reunion.
The Queen and the duke were reportedly laughing, smiling and holding hands ❤️
How incredible ! A letter from Queen Elizabeth II to Prince Philip, 3 weeks before their reunion in Lisbon in 1957, has been auctioned and made public.
“Still 3 weeks to go and what a tiresome date it is, too,for me” , “All my love darling, your very loving Lilibet”🥺
Ps : Elizabeth and Anne wanted the beard off🤣

And exactly 59 years before, Queen Elizabeth II presented a cup to Prince Philip as captain of the winning team after the novice polo final match at Cowdray Park Polo Club, June 22nd 1953.

Time to bring back my favourite Trooping the Colour footage from 1949. Then Princess Elizabeth, on her horse Tommy, is coming closer to Prince Philip who’s behind the camera and it’s like you get to see a glimpse of the real Lilibet .

OTD in 1961 Trooping the Colour, celebrating Queen Elizabeth II’s official birthday, took place on June 10th, Prince Philip’s actual birthday.
The photograph shows Queen Elizabeth II looking at The Duke of Edinburgh during the parade that day.
