one thing though: druck didn’t make a big deal out of david’s binder. it was shot the same as matteos chest, as just another way a boy’s body can look. It was only drawn attention to when matteo kissed it, because trans people are desirable, loved, and wanted

there’s this tiny moment when david says “i really like you” when you can see the frown, the confusion fall away on matteo’s face, and you can see this tiny, almost unintentional smile start to form. the fact that david tells him, to his face, i like you, this wasn’t a joke to me, this is real to me too is more important than his inner turmoil. it may have been subconscious here, but that little look is how we know that over the next days matteo is going to come to that realisation consciously as well.
