While the lettered and numbered streets of DC make it difficult in theory to get lost with their logical progressions, in practice it's not quite as simple. Locals stoically navigate their own neighborhoods but tourists and infrequent visitors may find the system befuddling at best.

When the city plan was established in 1791 by French engineer, Pierre L'Enfant, the organized naming system extended to avenues named for the nascent states as well. The goal of the newly designed capital city was to mimic the structure of the government with city quadrants centered on the Capitol Rotunda. It was not quite as intuitive as the numbered and lettered streets, but with only nineteen avenues, it was still easy to understand. Built as major streets, the state-named avenues provided long, spacious views of the Capitol and other government icons. With the exception of California "Street," and Ohio "Drive," all of the states have avenues bearing their names. Indiana is the shortest avenue, stretching less than half a mile and found only in the Northwest quadrant. Since the original 13 colonies marked the widest avenues in the original city, much of the future development was along extensions of them North of Boundary Street or Florida Avenue. At different times during the City's 200-year history, various neighborhoods have changed dramatically in terms of social status, vibrancy, and commerce. The coming of the Metro to various regions has transformed many formerly sleepy and depressed areas into models of urban living.

While the state-named avenues help create picturesque squares, plazas and parks throughout the city, they frequently don't conform to the grid, resulting in perplexing and circuitous travel. As one local puts it, "it's both hard and easy to find these streets -- it's easy to get relatively close to where you are going but sometimes it's hard to get there exactly."

Denver is one of the largest and the most populous city of US state of Colorado. In addition to that it is home to many markets, businesses, offices etc and it has many other counties in it. The total street system of the city is complex and one may get confused where the two grids meet up, however there are adequate sign boards that one can read to take the correct path one wanted to choose. In addition to these freeways there are two toll highways that run through the city. As for the Mass transportation, it is managed by the Regional Transportation Department. It operates more than 1000 buses, five light rail lines the C, G, E, F, and H with the total of 34.9 miles. Then there is also national passenger rail system, providing services to Denver.

Denver International Airport or DIA serves as a primary airport for the large region surrounding the city. It is located to 18.6 miles east -northeast of Colorado State Capital. It is the 10th busiest airport in the world and ranks fourth in US for the number of passengers that travel through the gates of this airport. The airport is the largest in the US to accommodate a number of flights that come daily simultaneously. There were some other airports too in the city however they were all closed only the DIA remained in the end.
