you know what gets me about this: there were three other boys to mess with. zayn, arguably, was louis' +1 at all times before he left. But liam later not only filled that space in louis' life, but liam always had a much bigger side reserved next to louis, in his songwriting process, in his stage presence, or just somebody to lean on. so when louis wanted to be possessive it was just LIAM LIAM LIAM in his head and that displayed outright.

The haunting thought that liam and louis have been literally the full embodiment of neil and todd is so unsettling to me

you know what my running theory is.

he was so open and so always there for fans, that fans started thinking he was always going to be there, so either way he was appreciated or not they would have him. and appreciating him for actually who he was, wasn't a big deal for a majority.

the fandom started thinking that he was dispensable.

it had become a status quo he couldn't escape.

like louis and zayn were notorious for giving no fucks. harry and niall were often withdrawn from twitter/ the internet for long periods of time, to seem unreachable. meanwhile liam WAS very kind AND always answering fans on the internet, following as many people as he could, meeting as many fans outside their hotels as he could.

Somebody mentioned how did we not have more liam girls in the fandom? Because he was always taken for granted. Because he gave it his all, people thought he would always and they didn't need to put in energy to support him actually.

This is why he was always criticised post 2012 whenever he would break the status quo. People would twist his words and disgrace his friendly banter any time, because they expected that from Zayn and Louis but not him. If he was not always giving out his 100% support to the boys even post 1d, people were not hesitant to expect it of him, unlike they did of harry, niall, or louis.

People would be CRYING if he expressed something which did not align with the kind, shy, apparently very sensible 2010-12 liam payne.

This was one of the things which was extremely sad, because this went on for more than a decade.

Y’all know what’s truly messed up in this whole Liam situation( besides everything 🤦🏻‍♀️). That man gave his everything, all the time. He gave his all when in One D, managing finances, keeping band members on track, being the dad of the group and working on song writing for the band. He was One Direction. He gave his entire soul to make others happy then and for years afterward. He spent most of his life doing to make others happy. He gave YouTube’s, TikTok’s, livestreams and so much content during lockdown and kept one d alive for all of you when the world was still. He gave hope and light and laughter through his entire life for the fans and general public to turn on him and treat him like dust after he poured his entire soul into being kindness and laughter and love for that band. He was fed dust by other members whe he showed support EVEN IF THEY WERENT on good terms, he knew IT MATTERED TO THE FANS to have that lifeline and so so many of you paid him back by tearing him down over every decision he made, every breathe he took. Do you know what it feels like to give your entire soul over to something and have that thing/person tear you down?!?!

No wonder he was such a mess.

I don’t think I will ever not be utterly broken by this entire situation.

it has been a very tough year, to say the least. how could we lose liam, when there was a whole future ahead for him which he had planned; the songwriting and playing the same stages together which louis had planned.

the incompleteness of his future will always haunt me but i want it to be sweet rememberance of the time we had with him.

even in 2025, you will be here in the hearts of so many liam; and you will live through each one of those hearts which keep beating in your rememberance and love.

The one "extra" lilo hug

what gets me about the first sheffield hug is the fact that ot4 had planned their final hugs on the last show obviously. but minutes before it, louis couldn't handle it anymore, you can almost see the tears in his eyes and he had to lean into a hug with liam (i wonder why that is)(oh wait they were ltr inseparable like they couldn't be bothered to be not near eachother) before the final ones. and then he parts with the biggest grin on his face, making a joke probably or laughing about something and the puppy liam was, who did not expect the embrace at all, looks at him, confused. he doesn't know what the mood shift is for but goes on with it.

but it was literally you liam, if you can hear this in any form. even if it was maybe always unsaid in the silences of the noise around them.

it was the one hug with liam where louis pats him, says something to him while pressing his face in his shoulder, both arms wrapped fully around him like he would hold him there forever, and it instantly cheers him up, as if it keeps the tears back for a bit. that he would have liam to lean on to, to talk to; that the world would still have the person he chased the wildest dreams with, that world that they shared would always be there, even when the same world outside had moved on, even when otra and the band thing was over, was perhaps the comforting thing for louis here.

and though there was no show to be made with the extra hug before the final one, it was there and it will exist like it has, for eternity.

1 hug planned, 2 hugs needed.

the funeral just hammered the nail in to end it all.

i see so many pictures and all i want to do is cry

it was "PRIVATE"; nobody's funeral should be fcking public and its worse bc all tabloids are calling it is the "1 direction reunion". humanity is dead ;

zayn rescheduled two dates, so it is kind of apparent when the funeral might** take place.

i am begging you all to NOT show up please. it is not a meet and greet, nor is it a paparazzi contest.

PLEASE respect the boys' and liam's family's privacy

i just keep thinking about louis and all of his writing about grief in his music. how he lost the mother who was his best friend and then just over a year later one of his little sisters, and now he's losing someone else who meant so so much to him - who was at one point or several points of his life his best friend. he's lost so much and now he's losing liam too. it just feels so surreal. none of this feels like it's real.
