Some Macnacross headcanons!(angsty and fluffy!)

John fell in love with Wilbur first. He looked up to him as his mentor and harbored a crush on him. Wilbur, on the other hand, fell harder in love. It was a bit of a slow burn for them

Wilbur was the one to make the first move. He began with flirting, then lingering touches, then he kissed John. John was over the moon that Wilbur kissed him

They kept it a secret. Only they knew they were dating. They exchanged rings to each other (since they couldn’t legally get married) Wilbur kept his in his pocket and John kept his ring tied around his neck as a necklace

Wilbur is a great cook and John is an amazing baker. Wilbur cooks John’s favorites (Reuben sandwich and potato soup) and John bakes Wilbur’s favorites (apple pie and blackberry cake)

Wilbur’s love language is gift giving and John’s love language is acts of service

For Christmas they gave each other watches. They never take it off (and it’s the watch they both wear all the time, even when Wilbur joined Wiggly)

Every week they try to have a little date night, even if it’s just them eating snacks next to each other at work, they enjoy each others company

John becomes more impulsive if he thinks Wilbur is in danger. He puts himself in front of Wilbur if Wilbur is being attacked. Wilbur pulls John to the side and tells him not to do it (John still does it anyways)

Wilbur loves teasing John, getting him frustrated. John knows this and usually falls for it

John loves baking Wilbur apple pie for their anniversaries. He usually gets up early and bakes it and surprises Wilbur with the pie. Wilbur has no clue how John bakes when they are always so busy and is honored

After Wilbur went into the portal and joined Wiggly, everyone knew that John loved Wilbur because he mourned him just like how spouses mourn losing their love. No one told John that they knew

Wilbur still keeps his ring in his pocket. He often forgets it’s there and if he ever remembers he says the he’ll toss it away soon. He never does

btw i’m obsessed with the way paul and emma both feel the need to hold onto some part of each other essentially every time they feel any kind of strong emotion
