Birthday Candle Spell

This is a quick and easy spell you can do discreetly to send more positivity to those you care about for the next year of their lives!!

What you need:

♧ One of the intended recipient’s birthday candles

♧To care about the person

For many parties and even dinners in restaurants the person being celebrated will receive a dessert with a candle on it. In this case, the recipient will likely have already made some sort of wish or at least blown out this candle in some sort of symbolic way to make an ask of the powers that be. All you have to do is acquire the candle. If you want to be discreet about it, offer to help clean up and pocket it as you’re cleaning.

If your intended person didn’t have a candle or you weren’t with them to grab one, simply use any birthday candle along with something of theirs, something they gave to you, or something that reminds you of them.

After acquiring your candle, think about what it is you wish to send their way. Do you want to put some more power behind their birthday wish? Send general positivity or luck? Wish them good health? It could be a number of things, just make sure if you’re doing this without explicit permission of the person to add some kind of out. I like to add an “if they choose to accept” to any spells I’m doing without asking first, even if it’s for a good cause!!

Once you have your intentions laid out, summarize them into some kind of mantra or something to speak. It can be short and sweet or something much longer, whatever feels right.

Then it’s time to set up your spell. Find a fireproof surface like a tile or rock to attach your candle to. Heat the bottom of the candle with a lighter or match until the wax has melted, then quickly stick the melted candle to your surface. Try to keep it as straight as possible to ensure an even burn. The melted wax should harden quickly and the candle will stand upright. At this time, if you’ve dedicated this candle to someone else, place the object representing them near the candle. For anything flammable or any large object that may not fit in the space you are working, simply hold them while you complete the spell. If your item is wearable like a shirt or jewelry, feel free to put it on!!

When your candle is setup and your incantation is ready, light your candle and speak. Put as much focus and intent into your spell as you can, mean the words that you say and watch the candle burn in its entirety. This may take a little while as the burn time for a standard birthday candle is between 15 and 30 minutes. However, less than an hour to send a year’s worth of goodness is a pretty fair exchange!!

This is an example of one I did a couple years ago!! The shell was fun, but it did get very hot towards the end. If you’d like to do the same be mindful of the surface your shell is sitting on, make sure it won’t be damaged by heat. And no, I didn’t stick the candle on crooked, it was a twisted candle.

"That's my favorite painting."

Lily turned her head to see a blonde girl standing next to her, mesmerized by the same painting. To Lily, it looked like a random splash of colors, a chaotic blend that made no sense.

"Really?" Lily asked.

The girl nodded, her eyes still fixed on the artwork. "The chaos of colors, the way they blend yet stand apart—it’s mesmerizing. Beautiful, unpredictable, and full of hidden meanings."

"Like life," Lily said, meeting the girl’s gaze. Her eyes were a stunning blue, the kind Lily could lose herself in.

"Like life," the girl agreed, her eyes lingering on Lily's face. "What do you see?"

Lily blinked and looked back at the painting. Suddenly, it seemed different, more beautiful, though it still couldn't compare to the girl's eyes. "Pandora's box," Lily said softly. "It feels like an explosion of everything inside, both wonderful and terrible."

A hint of surprise flickered in the girl's eyes. "Exactly," she whispered. "Pandora's box. You know, my name's Pandora."

Lily's heart skipped a beat. "Really? That’s... beautiful."

Pandora laughed softly. "Most people think it’s a curse. But I think it’s about hope—how even in chaos, there’s something worth holding on to."

Lily nodded, captivated. "I think that's beautiful. The idea of hope, I mean."

Pandora took a step closer, their shoulders almost touching. "So, what’s your name?"

"Lily."

"Lily," Pandora repeated, savoring the sound. "Like the flower. Delicate yet resilient."

A warmth spread through Lily's chest. "I- yeah. Yes, I guess so."

Pandora smiled, her eyes sparkling. "Names have meanings, just like art. Sometimes, you just need the right perspective to see it."

They stood in silence for a moment, the chaos of colors on the canvas reflecting the emotions swirling inside them.

"Would you like to see more paintings with me?" Pandora asked, her voice hopeful.

Lily smiled, her heart fluttering. "I’d love to."

As they walked through the museum, Lily thought that maybe they were starting to paint a new story together, one filled with color, chaos, and hope.
