I don't know if you've heard of this but there are what if scenarios and even fics about the Galactic empire from Star Wars invading certain fictional setting (like lotr, Harry Potter, atla, ect) but nothing about what it invaded the red queen world. Which is why I'm gonna ask your opinion on what if during say the prologue of the first book the empire shows up with star destroyers in the sky and storm troopers on the ground led by none other than Darth Vader and starts conquering the place? What happens? How do the slivers and reds react?

I don't think I'm the best person to engage in a Star Wars crossover conversation, I'm not that into it, yk? But if anyone wants to add their opinions under this ask feel free because I would love to read the replies!

Red Queen Met gala 2025

voted in by everyone, our next event will be the Red Queen series met gala!

artists, draw a few characters in what they would be wearing to the met gala. make it dramatic, make it true to character, feel like their personal designer like Gisa Barrow herself

writers, write drabbles of characters in attendance. What's the drama? Who says what? Who trips who on the red carpet? Maybe what will the interviewer ask them and how do they answer?

now, i have the option to have awards for the met gala as well similar to what i did for the Grammys, but i will leave that up to everyone else if they want them. either way, this is NOT an award centered event. however, i can add them for some extra fun

Mare "Please I'm begging you, give me a mission and get me out of this house and away from my toddlers" Molly Barrow gets sent on a mission with Cal "I'm telling you that we are not going to have fun because we are going to be stressed the whole time about the kids" Calore cause eh we haven't had a good relationship/marriage bonding mission since before Cori. The mission is very simple, they will be gone for a maximum of 2 days. Mare insists she will be fine, and that HE is going to be the problem.

1 hour into the flight there Mare turns to him and says "Don't be mad, but we have to turn around. I miss the kids and I don't trust Kilorn to handle them."

And Cal just looks at her like this: 😑

Official 2025 Red Queen fandom "GRAMMYS" AWARDS

I have had this idea for a while and decided to put it into action and see if other fans are interested. Posters on tumblr for the RQ series fandom will be given awards for different things. These people dedicate much work to feed the fandom and I wanted to find a way to appreciate them. I have in mind art categories, humor, ships, and others. I will be open to suggestions, too! If I tag you that means I know you for posting Red Queen things, I don't usually post anything on my account so if you can, reblog and get the word out to other fans and people who follow you. It would help a lot! You don't have to but it would mean a lot and show support. For everyone who sees this I would love your help and votes if we decide to get this started. Rereading the Sunlit Man and I am cracking up at the idea of the Cinder King reading about the Blackthorn's war crimes and Dalinar's "Unite them" and making that into a messed up bucket list "wow this guy is right I should set fire to people who disagree with me and I should unite everyone under my banner by force! this conqueror gets it!" Somewhere in the cosmere/ the beyond Dalinar's ghost is very disturbed. Cinder King's kicking his feet doodling fiery hearts around the blackthorns name not knowing that if they ever met he would be obliterated in an instant. Nomad has every right to laugh in this guy's face. Imagine being on the run for 300 years and then some guy with glowing red eyes on some tiny planet in the middle of nowhere quotes your old boss at you and asks your old boss would be proud of him. And then has the audacity to break an oath around a rosharan.

What songs, if any, do you associate with marecal?

(This is me asking for music recs for my brain rot)

Ah shit *guilty of spending most my life listening to classical/instrumental osts*

Funnily enough marecal was the thing that got me listening to lyrical songs because love songs suddenly get a lot better when you can associate them with something, thus I shall cheat and give some songs that inspire AUs/fic titles and explain my thought process because WHY NOT

Fragile-Laufey (this one reminds me of Mare when she said "I'm a glass sword waiting to shatter" fits their relationship in GS rlly well)

Bewitched-Laufey ("Mare Barrow seduced the prince into killing the king" and "the prince certainly looks bewitched" alongside goose inspired my magic AU)

Lovesick-Laufey (Hey can't you tell I like Laufey's music yet anyways this one fits their relationship right after the epilogue of KC)

Even if the world ends tomorrow-SVT (even though it doesn't exactly fit, I think about WS when everything was "After this I'm probably never kissing you again so I'm going to make this one night worth it"

I have a whole dissection of their relationship and why they ultimately were going to be the end couple. ✌🏻 and it touches on this stuff.

There's something so special about marecal's dynamic because instead of "I'd burn the world down for you", it's "I love you, but I will choose my loyalties over you. If I had to I would leave, although it would destroy me on the inside. I would sacrifice everything we have for the sake of what I believe is right, even though I would hate myself forever because of it. I would let go when the time comes, but it would ruin me in a way that nothing could ever come close to fixing. I can give you up, at the cost of my sanity and my heart and my soul and never loving anyone the same way ever again."

Hypothetically, very hypothetically, if I was thinking of writing a Shadowhunters marecal AU, what creature would Mare be? Because Cal would obviously be a Shadowhunter, and I think Mare would probably be some kind of Downworlder but I can't decide on which kind and I need opinions

Reading analysis about Cal while screaming into the void known as an empty room and here to publish my unneeded thoughts about my blorbo.

Cal deserved more screen time, he deserved more chapters of his POV and honestly VA did him so dirty 😔

Because our dear RQ characters are definitely unreliable narrators, the reader’s perception of characters is based on their own POVs and how other characters perceive them. Unfortunately, every character describes Cal as a lovesick puppy, a mopey matchstick, a dense moron and everything in between. It's not that these are wrong, they're part of his character, but these are incredibly surface level traits which leads to the general perception of Cal’s character being superficial, bland and boring. It seems like his only purpose in the story is to be Mare’s love interest because Maven betrayed her.

However, he has a whole lot of untapped potential. My man did not get betrayed by Mare, betrayed by his brother, find out his mother was murdered buy Elara, get forced to kill his own father, lose everything he had and got sentenced to execution all in 1 day for people to call him boring. Honestly, when I listed it out like that, I truly realised how crazy the whole situation was. Within the span of a day he lost any form of stability he had even known in his life, and found out that one if not the closest person to him (maven) was a lie. If that isn't traumatic, I really wouldn't like to hear whatever other definition of trauma there is out there. I think the only reason we very much overlook Cal's trauma is because 1. It happened in real time, 2. He's no longer a child, 3. We didn't see it from his POV and 4. In this scene he and his father are technically the "bad guys".

Here's the thing though, he has never talked about it. Not once. Never. The closest we ever saw this man to losing his mind was when he was planning the Corros prison break. He'd never mentioned this trauma from any POV, not even his own. Maven told Mare about how Elara messed up everything in his brain, and how he never recovered from it. For Cal, we never found out how he dealt with it and how close to the brink of insanity he was. If he ever just felt like exploding and destroying everything. Nobody except Mare ever asked him if he was ok. He had every right to go mad. But he didn't. Some miraculous way, Cal managed to maintain some semblance of sanity and that is unimaginable mental strength like holy shit.

Another way too glossed over plot point was why he chose the crown over mare in the epilogue of KC. This one I get genuinely frustrated over sometimes because there were so many reasons for him to make that decision. I know many people have talked about this before but I'm just going to repeat it 1. It's the best political move in the situation. Cal isn't stupid, no matter how many people seem to think he is. He knows better than to let the place of King open for anyone to snatch up and that it was the only way the Silvers and the Scarlet Guard would ever work together. 2. To him it's his moral obligation. Cal's loyalty and sense of duty is a huge part of his character. All his life he's been told it's his responsibility, his destiny to become king and serve the people. Not only that, the crown is his family's legacy and considering the fact that he was the one to behead his own father Cal likely feels even more morally obligated to become king. The words he said to Mare, "I love you and I want you more than anything else in this world". He uses the word "want", but how can a want, a desire ever compare to what he believes is a need, an obligation? It's not that he didn't love mare enough like Evangeline suggested, or that he fell prey to the power's lure like Mare insinuated in the epilogue. He did what he full heartedly believed was right, and unfortunately this was barely touched upon in war storm which made me want to tear my hair out.

This yap session is nearly done, just hold on a bit longer. The last thing that DEFINITELY should have gotten more words was his ultimate decision to abdicate. All we got was him reading Coriane's diary, Evangeline telling him "if it's not too late for me, it's not too late for you" and then the decision. WHERE'S THE IN-BETWEEN THOUGHT PROCESS? He read through Coriane's diary and realised that she wanted her son to have a different life, and of course he probably had some thoughts about it. Considering how he knew the Scarlet Guard and Montfort weren't with him, how he still loved Mare, perhaps realizing what his life could have been with an alive mother was what tipped him over the edge. Perhaps it was loyalty to his mother he never had the chance to know, loyalty to the little of her forever bound in a gold-covered book, buried in the graveyard known as time. Maybe he asked Julian who seemed to want him to reconsider his decision as king, but we'll never know because it wasn't written 😭😭😭

Cal is incredibly kind, loyal, warm, passionate, motivated, and indecisive, and I love that about him. His story could have been a tragedy, a prodigy put on a pedestal that had everything and was forced to be everything, reduced to nothing in an instant. But it wasn't. He found love in a girl that took everything from him, and rebuilt himself a far better life from the ashes of nothing. Normally the circle between characters I like and characters I respect rarely overlap, but somehow this 6'3 adorable ass dork stuck himself straight in both and this is why I will defend what his character is and could have been. Thank you for attending my Tedtalk, it's literally all my thoughts about this man exploding into text and falling onto a Tumblr post.
