Actually, you can! You can buy food grade and mold making silicone online, and you might be able to get mold making silicone at a craft store. There are plenty of tutorials on how to mold and cast silicone. You will also need to make a version of your design in clay or another similar material. You will also need a release agent for your silicone. Lori Hehn has a three part tutorial on youtube.
Part One
Part Two
Part Three
Hi, I love your blog! It's really helpful! I was just wondering: I've looked everywhere, and I can't really find out how to make silicone pendants and beads. I know you use food-grade silicone and molds to make them, but I have no idea how! I don't know what brand to buy or what to do with it. Do you know, or do you have any tutorials you could link me to? I have some design ideas and would love to make some pendants. Thanks!
Honestly, I’ve got no clue!
To my understanding it is more of a thing that is made in factories, not a DIY thing - i might be wrong though.
I unfortunately can’t answer your question, but maybe some of my followers would know?

[Image description: 15 “bendy worm” fidgets in an assortment of colors on a gray background. They have a round top and bottom shaped like half of a pill. There is a line of plastic going down the center with thin circles jutting out, some what like a rib cage.]
These are fidgets made by the fidgety flower on etsy. They come in lots of colors, including solid and translucent colors, and are 3d printed. Made of a sturdy and flexible material, they should last a long time, but could probably be cracked if bent far enough. They are 4 inches long and half of an inch wide, perfect to fit in your pocket. These seem like a good tactile stim toy for those who want something discreet and small.
Edit: I forgot to add shipping and price details, sorry. They are 4 USD, and ship to The United States, Canada and The Netherlands.

I have used Floof before! It is like kinetic sand in many ways, but it’s very airy and not as crumbly. It does squish and mold nicely like kinetic sand. I prefer over kinetic sand because of personal preference. It’s consistency is sort of like playdough. Texture is like a mixture of kinetic sand and playdough. It’s nice and smooth, and pretty light in your hands.
does anybody have experience with floof snowball maker? i know its similar enough to kinetic sand that vat19 included it in a video comparing different kinds of kinetic sand that they sell (the others being mad mattr, a product called called sånd made by brookstone(?) and glow in the dark sands alive! brand kinetic sand) but i dont think ive seen any reviews on it by ppl who stim
I actually happened across Floof for the first time today when grabbing the links for the Snowtime Snowballs. Again, I haven’t handled it myself (we just don’t have the same variety of these craft toys here in stores here in Australia) so I hope some US stimmer folk can give you a more definitive answer!
Tumblr media
[image description: Floof Snowball Maker. The toy is housed in a white bucket with a blue lid with the raised text “Floof” on the lid. The label on the bucket has the text “Floof Snowball Maker 3+ Net Wt 0.33 lb (150 g) and features a background image of a cartoon winter scene, complete with snowpeople decorated with blue hat and scarf or pink bowtie and scarf. The foreground image is a photo of the Floof itself, shown in balls to the left, a pile that resembles snow to the right, and two balls of white Floof, resembling snowballs, bracleted by two halves of a blue round ball mould, one bigger, one smaller.]
After reading the description on the Fat Brain Toys listing and watching this video on the Vat19 website, I’ll say that it strikes me as similar to Morph: a fluffy, light kinetic-sand-like dough. (I’ve handled kinetic sand dough, at least the Skwooshi Dough by Irwin Toys, and Floof looks a lot fluffier.) The difference from Morph being that you don’t get Floof wet!
For those looking into Floof, here’s the main website and product lines. There’s a temporarily out of stock listing on Barnes and Noble ($14.95 USD), the Floof Bucket on Fat Brain Toys ($28.77 AUD; US folks need to check link for USD), the Floof Snowball Maker on Amazon ($16.99 USD with Prime) and Vat19 ($14.99 USD). Based on that diversity of listings, I’d say that Floof might not be too hard for interested US folk to track down!
I’d love it if folks can help our anon out and give some feedback! This stuff does look great!

Hi! anactualgoose is my main, this is my stim sideblog. But yes, they are plastic. Some have animals or other shapes that are a bit thicker on the end so they might work better, as they aren’t as flat. And if I remember correctly, they are pretty tough but still flexible.
Ate the tongue deppressors wooden? Like popsicle sticks?
Please know that I’m answering based on product descriptions and images, not from personal experience! But yes, some are wooden; these ones are not! The ones linked in the submission (and others in the product links on that page, in fact) are a latex-free plastic. I would assume, based on its form and function (and that I saw them listed on other sites as oral motor tools) that it is safe to go in your mouth.
I don’t know what it might be like to chew on or how soft/hard the material used is. There’s many toys on this blog I haven’t tried myself, and a lot of the toys sent my way are by folk offering up creative solutions to solve problems or answer questions (in this case, the fact that chewables branded as flavoured were actually only scented, leaving a gap for folks who want flavoured chewables).
I hope there’s a lovely sense of conversation here, that we’re all trying things, discussing things and learning about what alternatives do and don’t work, together!

I have some more suggestions! There’s these pencil toppers, one is clear. The chew stixx comes in clear if you don’t mind a minty smell. It’s advertised as flavored but I’ve heard it’s only scented. Fun and Function has this necklace. I heard there were clear chew tubes on chubuddy’s website but i couldn’t find them. I did find them here though. Make sure you select the clear option.
Do you know of any transparent chewables? Preferably ones you can wear? I'm really drawn to chewing on transparent things, but I can only find full pigment ones. :/
There are some chewable tube that is see through, but notaware fo any specific chewlery.
Sorry, followers?

This made me curious about other frog themed things could be used as stim toys, so I did a little search.
There is the frog water snake from office playground, which are toys I love, as it’s very nice to push what’s inside around.
This one seems like a good visual stim along with it being nice and squishy, and it’s marketed as a sensory toy as well as a fidget.
These stretchy frogs are made of food grade silicone, so they’re safe to chew as well as squeeze.
This is a scented and heatable plush. It seems like it’s also nice to pet and touch.
While the twelve pack of frogs isn’t stimmy by itself you could put it in glitter jars and clear/translucent slime.
A nice plush that seems soft.
A weighted plush.
Weighted lap pad with frogs on it.
Putty/slime with frogs in it.
A frog themed fidget quilt.
Crocheted teether, but can be used as a chewie.
I really like to have matching bags for themed stuff, so if anyone also wants one this one looks nice.
What are some of your favorite frog stim toys? :0
Oooh! Exciting question! Sadly, I don’t have too many! Plushies/soft toys form most of my frog collection (most of them I’ve found in the Easter plush sections of department stores, so now’s a good time to be looking). I do own a large fake Kermit fairground-style plush that’s taller than I am when held upright (I’m 5.2 ft tall) and a few fake Keroppi badges/pins on my satchel. Also a frog-face plush coin purse from Daiso, which I forgot to photograph! My Oma really liked frogs, and I kept acquiring them for various unintended reasons, so it’s something I inherited from her.
These are my stimmiest of frog items, though, all things I’ve found locally:
Tumblr media
[image description: five green frog stim toys. From left to right, top to bottom: a long fake Keroppi-featured embroidered plush head attached to a long bobbly chenille handtowel; a bobbly chenille finger sponge with round embroidered eyes, mouth and pink buttons for cheeks; a flat bath toy with an oversized head, round and a polka-dot yellow middle; a green puff ball with beady white eyes and tiny limbs; and a frog head with a bobbly chenille back, also with embroidered face, mouth and pink buttons for cheeks.]
- The handtowel cost $1 AUD from The Dollar Guy (he sells everything for $1 AUD) at Beckley Park Market. Most of his stuff is the usual dollar store fare but cheaper, so this might be available at dollar/discount stores as well.
- The finger duster costs $2.80 AUD from Daiso. It’s a duster or polisher that’s meant to go over your fingers, but I stuffed it with lavender-scented rice to make it a weighted toy.
- The bath toy came in a selection of bath toys from Toys R Us, $6 AUD for a bag of four. I’ve seen more bath toy frogs at stores like Harper’s Bathroom but they’re a little expensive.
- The animal puffer ball cost $5 AUD from Australian Geographic. Stimtastic stocks similar ones as well (the pictured frog has bigger eyes than mine) for $2 USD. This has a slight chemical smell that takes a long time to air, but it’s very pleasing to squish.
- The face duster/polisher also costs $2.80 AUD from Daiso. It’s got the longest and softest chenille fronds of any similar duster/creature I own (and I’ve a few, now). It comes as pictured, filled with regular polyester stuffing like a soft toy, and I keep meaning to open a seam and weight it! Of all the things pictured, it’s probably my favourite because I really do love chenille fabric.
Other stimmy frog things that I admire from afar include frog chewable necklaces, the Pickles the frog squishy and a frog coin purse. I’d also love to own this squishable frog-shaped water bead pack. One day!
It’s been easier to accrue duck (I used to own an American Pekin duck justly called Houdini) stim toys than it has been frogs, to be honest. I have a duck cake squishy, a duck chenille sponge, a duck puffer ball, various duck soft toys, various bath ducks, a fluffy plush duck shoulder bag. I do have help, though: @ambiguouspieces sends me teaser photos of more duck squishies!
(The pride of my duck collection is a old-school-Battlestar-Galactica-themed bath duck. So awesome.)

Tesla-Baby has chewable silicone beads! They come in lots of colors and a variety of shapes so you can buy those and make a necklace from them! I’m not sure of how tough they are though.
Do you know of any ways to make your own chewelry? I want some chewelry but I can't afford to buy any. I've been thinking of braiding paracord and putting it on some ball chain. Do you think that would work?
Yep!
The easiest one is to get a t-shirt (i recommend cotton) and cut it into vertical strips, instructions here. You can make braided chewable necklaces, bracelets, whatever, you can even put in wood beads. In the previous link there is also other chewable DIY things.
Alternatively you can buy food grade silicone beads and make a necklace from them. Beads can be purchased on etsy, eBay or baby stores.

My stim box! Known to others as my “Awesome Box”
From left to right, top to bottom: Voldemort’s Wand, with a plastic snake coiled around it, a pen that resembles a wand, three squishy dinos, a squishy snake and turtle, rubbery plastic antelope and moose, a plastic snake, a model hydra, a how to train your dragon figure, (behind that row) two squishy frogs, a squishy lizard, squishy shark, a translucent rarity mlp mashem figure,a colorful bouncy ball with eyes, foam earbuds, a hook that looks like the back half of a dog’s body, a gold painted breyer stablemates model, a toy car, a plastic orca, a squishy dragon, a rubber duck, and a fluttershy mlp pop figure. I also got a small tin or Crazy Aaron’s Thinking putty yesterday, but since these are from a couple weeks ago it’s not in the photo.
Send me an ask if you want to know how I use each of these!
