I know I preach a lot about horror being made more accessible to women but I stand by my statements that Stephen King is an incredible author and I wish he would just shut up about boobs so I can enjoy his books in peace

unrelentingly harping on will graham’s incredible ‘empathy’ during the first season really looks weak once it becomes immediately clear that he’s more concerned about dogs than human beings. like i know that’s one of those quirky millennial jokes like ‘lol i love doggos more than people’ or what the fuck ever but in all seriousness i have never once seen will graham ostensibly show empathy

for people who were so concerned about freddie lounds writing abigail hobbs’ story (which abigail was cool with, btw), saying that she needed to let her ‘rest in peace’, will and hannibal sure are interested in gaslighting and manipulating abigail’s ghost. telling her that her father slit her throat ‘out of love’. i don’t think that’s letting her rest in peace but what do i know

so when will graham is having stag sex it’s presented as gritty and intellectual and filled with metaphor and purpose and then season 3 is like....... two women having sex? exotic music. lsd trip. strange patterns and camera tricks. this is highly unusual. we must treat this as though it is the weirdest thing that has ever happened on this show. so out of character.

ah and now we are just rewatching scenes from last season for minutes on end. truly a masterpiece of a show isn’t it

ah the good old trick of making me watch twenty different montages of vaguely italian scenery and artifacts in lieu of actual plot. you can’t fool me, i know you’re trying to be artsy to make up for the lack of interesting content

reading positive reviews of hannibal saying this is mads mikkelson’s finest performance as if they’ve never seen the video of him being like “i’d like to thank my mahm.... and my daaa*d” that video lives inside my head RENT FREE and you’re about to tell me that sitting expressionless on a chair speaking in hushed tones is more culturally relevant? abhorrent behavior
