Probably the last image I'll share from my concept art class at KCAI? I was pretty happy with this little turnaround!

Here are some images from my self-directed research project! I’ve been working on figure drawing by following along with Figuary (even though I’m a little late to join and it’s no longer Febuary) by Croquis Cafe on Vimeo. I think I’ve been improving and I feel like I’ve learned a lot. I still need to make cleaner lines. Right now I think all of my drawings are very rough and messy. I’d like for my lines to be clean and confident.

I’ve been making some slow but steady progress on my project for this semester. So far I’ve mostly been animating shots in chronological order from my animatic, with the backgrounds being made just before I start a new shot. My plan is to finish the animation and lines first, then later color in the characters. I currently have around 53 seconds of animation!

Some concept art and character designs for my junior studio project this semester! I will be making a short animation (around 90 seconds) about the relationship between a harpy and a mermaid. I really need practice drawing characters consistently and I’m excited to animate the movements of these two! I’ve mostly used Adobe Animate in the past, but for this I’d like to export my frames and color them in Photoshop.
