I'm so happy Spirit is also part of the Links cast! He (and Calamity) are so special to me and I'm glad they're included in your au

A question I have about Spirit - typically, he and Wind/Tune are portrayed to be the closest, since they're the same age, sort of like twins, but Tune is older in lttc. So, who is Spirit closest to? Who's the train guy's favorite Link?

Calamity is my special little blorbo and I love him so so much, and I’m really happy to be able to add Spirit, he’s really awesome too!

Tune is about three years older than Spirit in this au, and while they will be super close (because they’re in the same starting group), Minish is really gonna be Spirit’s partner in crime. Spirit will also get along fairly well with Mask and Tears, but he and Minish are gonna be the duo up to no good >:)

Does Mask ever blame the "voices"(Fierce Deity) about his actions?

Maybe as a joke, but never seriously. Fierce is something of a parental figure to him, and if he’s telling Mask to do something or suggesting something, it’s usually either the right thing to do or he’s curious to see what would happen. He really cares about Mask and has his best interests in mind, so any action actually influenced by the deity wouldn’t be a bad thing

Also Mask is keeping the fact he can hear the Fierce Deity from everyone right now, but once they know he’d definitely make jokes about ‘the voices’ telling him to do things >:)

He’s 16, he’s going to start of with Tune and Minish, and his starting item is the Lokomo Sword

I’m working on updating the character lists and descriptions so he’s on all the lists. I probably won’t be able to edit all of them, but definitely at least the pinned ones

For the ask questions - which of the Links is the most responsible?

And a second question: What do they prioritize more as people - their duty and most pressing issues (main quests) or helping everyone and also taking their time solving small problems (side quests)?

I hope I've written it in a way that makes sense lol sorry if not

For most responsible it’s a tie between Twilight/Wolf and Warriors, they both have their flaws but those two are what make the group stick together. Warriors is the negotiator and peace keeper as well as their planner, and everyone looks to him as the leader since he’s the oldest, and Twilight/Wolf keeps track of him and kind of herds the others. The group would not be functional as a GROUP without one of them

For your second question (I hope I answered this well 😭):

Warriors: He feels horribly guilty if he cannot save everyone. When the War or Eras took them to villages that were being destroyed and if he had to choose between helping fight back the monsters, actively driving the enemy out and helping an injured civilian get to safety first, he would pick the civilian every time. He’s a defender of the defenseless, and while it hurts him to know he’s not helping his men fight by taking a minute to help a civilian get to a safe place, he knows that person would have died if he hadn’t helped. He’ll take the ‘side quest’ every time (he views it as his responsibility since he fully believes the war is 100% his fault and he takes the blame for everything)

Tears: They’re so side quest oriented because they get distracted a lot and desperately want to help. Like yes they will absolutely help a korok find its friend, or they’ll gather 20 baked apples for you. The main objective is incredibly important to him, but Tears loves showing people acts of kindness and lending a helping hand when they can

Twilight: The main objective is his biggest priority and it’s the biggest thing on his mind, however he will stop and help if he’s able to. He’s more oriented towards the end goal, but he loves to help and is more than willing to lend a hand

Sky: His priority is everyone and that’s part of why he gets overwhelmed easily. He gets frustrated with himself when he feels like he’s failing or falling behind in his quest but he always has to stop and help, even if it means he doesn’t have as much energy to dedicate to his main quest

Tune: He laser focuses in on the main objective and it becomes his top priority. He will stop and help people, but he will not REST until his main objective is achieved

Past: They stop to help everyone they can, they’re very side quest oriented. The main objective is incredibly important to them, of course it is, but they are physically incapable of refusing a side quest or helping someone who needs it

Hyrule: He lives for the side quests, he lives for the little treats and the trill of completing little goals. Like yes, defeating Ganon is the most important thing, but he’s a little guy and he likes to run around (I don’t think there are a lot of side quests in his games that I remember, but he would love them)

Calamity: He prioritizes his duty as a knight and his responsibility to the kingdom over anything else because he’s pretty much completely lost himself and doesn’t know what he wants for him anymore. He will still help people, but his main priority is stopping the calamity and saving the kingdom as a whole

Mask: A lot of the others are some mix of both but Mask is TRULY the middle ground. He has an incredibly strong sense of justice, and he does whatever he thinks is most right in the moment. If that means helping someone with a side quest, he’ll do it, but if that means skipping a side quest to focus on the main objective, he’ll politely decline and come back to the side quest at a later time

Minish: He’s INCREDIBLY side quest oriented, he lives for the trinkets (the kinstones were soooo good for him). He’s still working towards the main goal, and that’s very important to him also, but he takes time to frolic. His priority is helping people and being kind

It’s a huge tie between Mask and Calamity. Mask is aware he can shoot the wide eye stare at anyone whenever he wants, Calamity is very unaware of it he’s just looking at everyone like “👁️👁️” all the time

Hmmm hard to to think of good questions. How do each of the Links feel about their adventures? Did they enjoy them? Look back at them fondly? Regrets? Have a certain side quest eternally stuck in the back of their mind?

- Warriors doesn’t think fondly about the war or his ‘adventure’ at all, and most of him wishes it never happened. The only good thing to come of it was his connection with Mask and Tune, as well as the others from the other eras, but apart from that he hates the war. It was horrible for his hyrule and his era, and it’s something he’ll never recover from. If the war never happened, he would’ve returned home after 2 years of mandatory military service and become a tailor, and probably lived a decently happy life. Also he probably would’ve never started dyeing his hair

- For Tears, their journeys are the only thing they really know, they don’t really have other memories besides the six years set between the two, but they had a good time for the most part. Yeah loosing his arm was really traumatic and his memories he recovered about the calamity/living through the events of totk was horrible and he gets nightmares about it, but Tears met a lot of kind people who helped him, and they truly love to adventure. Apart from the bad, Tears had fun

- Twilight cannot think too hard about his journey with Midna without falling into a depressive episode. He looks back on it and regrets that he lost her, and he misses her company. He learned a lot on his journey and he had ‘fun’ while it was happening, but he misses his girlfriend so badly it’s hard for him to look at his adventure in a positive light. His ‘second adventure’ was with Tears, and technically he’s still on that one because he never went home after that ended, which is something he’s incredibly upset about

- Sky for the most part liked exploring, but that feeling of always being JUST too late to catch up to Zelda seriously took a toll on his mental health. He’s still beating himself up over it. Also he will never ever in his life forget that he gave that love letter to the hand in the toilet

- Tune thinks it’s a little messed up he shoved a sword through Ganon’s face at the age of 12, but also he looks at that fondly, especially because when he first told Warriors about it during the War of Eras, the captain was HORRIFIED. Also without his adventure he might’ve never met Tetra, who is his closest and best friend

- Past met a lot of lovely people, but they’re not at all happy with the sheer amount of chaos that happened in their life growing up. They really haven’t gotten much of a break, and now they’re on another adventure and they’re not the most happy about it. They’re grateful that their journeying brought them Ravio, and even if she wasn’t real, he’s glad he got to know Marin, but Past is tired

- Hyrule had a decently fun time, he likes exploring, and he’s very close with both his Zeldas because of his adventures. He’s a bit paranoid that his blood can resurrect Ganon, but he takes care of it and still likes to roam

- Calamity had a miserable awful horrible time and lost who he was as a person because of his adventure. Since drawing the master sword, he’s been put under so much pressure to be perfect that he doesn’t even know who he is anymore. The only positive thing for him was having his friend by his side, but he still hasn’t recovered from the calamity, he’s made zero progress since the whole ordeal ended over a year ago

- Mask also had a horrible miserable awful time, but he’s been able to heal. Being a part of the War of Eras was good for him because meeting Warriors literally saved his life. He went from feeling unlovable and lost to being given some sense of stability from a brother figure for three years, and that support literally saved him. His fondest memories from his adventures include meeting Malon that first time and having to sneak past the palace guards to get her father, and also connecting with the Fierce Deity, who is another parental figure in his life

- Minish is lucky because at the end of the day, he could go home to his grandpa and talk with him about what was going on. His grandpa is his biggest supporter, and because he had that stability, his journeys weren’t as traumatic for him, and he was able to process things in a very healthy way. He’s the one who has the most therapy of the group, he’s definitely the most mentally stable. Not that his adventures weren’t traumatic for him at all, because they were, but he can look at them fondly and he saw a lot of cool things

MOST of them have fond moments from their adventures and were glad they happened, though two of them would hesitate in their decision if they were given an opportunity to erase the fact it ever happened (they wouldn’t take it, but they’d hesitate)

What character are you most excited to write about in lttc and why? (Without spoilers of course). Also, sorry if that's been asked already 😅

Calamity!! He’s my tragic little guy and I love him so much, he’s one of my favorites. I’m so excited for him and his character arc, he’s really gonna grow a lot. He and Warriors are very similar with their anxieties surrounding perfection and their relationship with the army, but while Warriors has created a loud confident ‘ladies man’ version of himself to perform as, Calamity has pretty much just shut down and become a shell of the person he was/could become. The friendship between him, Tears, and Warriors is going to be so fun to write :)

So this might be completely hypothetical bc I'm trying to convince my brain that this is not an appropriate reaction to 'I would love for this to be a comic but I can't draw so it's a fanfic instead', but would you be okay with someone turning maybe snippets of the fic into comic format?

oh my god, that would honestly be really cool! Because of the way I’m writing it I don’t think the whole thing would really translate well into a comic, but I’d be okay if people drew like, small scenes or parts of it in comic form!! I’m totally fine with like, fanart and stuff, I just ask that you guys credit me for creating this version of the blorbos and the story line, and also tag me so I can see! :)
