I'm finally watching Feverish Attempts and ooooomg Xavier you're such a stinker 🤣 This bit cracked me up. He acts all innocent but that boy has PLANS.

I also love that we got more info on what happened to Isaiah--though I'm still trying to figure out which Backtracker is the one that wore the duckbill cap... 🤔 Both Soren and Isaiah also have silver hair, but Jeremiah doesn't. I need to watch Shooting Stars again to see if I missed something about that particular detail...

I’ve been a bit distracted this month so far since I’ve been doing promo for my latest book (you can find it at @bakecookieswritesmut if you’re into FFM paranormal romance! 💕) but I think I’ll be diving back into my close read of Death and Rebirth soon 👀 I wanna make sure I don’t miss any key details before I go back to adjust Cosmic Interlude, but oooooooh it’s gonna be good!

I’m thinking for any minor tweaks I’ll just note that with formatting (strikethru and text color probably), but for larger rewrites I’ll do alt chapters so both the old version and the new version will be up side by side.

I’m very much a “the process is also art” kind of person, so I’m actually looking forward to leaving “traces” of my prior head canons alongside the new stuff!

Plus I def have some Sylus smut asides to write for death and rebirth… hehe 😈

Hey! I absolutely love your character analysis of the boys, and as an (extreme) Sylus bias myself, I really had to binge read your whole blog 😅

You can feel free to ignore this if you're uncomfortable or just don't want to answer it— there's a lot of bl shipping going around, and as a closeted fujoshi myself, I wanted to know who you think, among all five boys, are more compatible with each other personality-wise and such...

Sylus and Zayne seem to be a very obvious and unproblematic fit, a very calm and mature relationship there. Zayne and Caleb have the childhood-friends to lovers thing going on, or I suppose rivals to lovers is more fitting. Rafayel and Sylus is starting to sound a little chaotic, even though ENTJ x ENTP is kind of popular? 😂

Raf x Sylus sounds WAY too chaotic 🤣 Mostly because I don't think Sylus would stand for Rafayel's whining, and while Raf's asking for a brat tamer, he'd want to be indulged more than Sylus would do, I think. (Indulged in a pat-pat that sounds very hard kind of way, specifically.) Raf would also hate sharing the spotlight when Sylus is up to his mischief.

From the brat tamer angle, Zayne x Raf would actually be really cute, and Zayne would def need to be reminding Raf to eat and sleep and not just be painting all the time. He'd indulge Raf enough, but also put his foot down. And then when things get going? That is a PASSIONATE pairing.

I don't want to neglect Xavier, though it always takes me the longest to get my head around him. 🤔 I could see him happily indulging Raf and being his "bodyguard", hehe. Xavier x Sylus might be a dark horse--Sylus likes a capable Hunter, Xavier's a bit of a puzzle to unravel, Sylus would love the possessiveness, and things would get FREAKY. Could be a very good time. And you can even get some of the mutual destruction in there with them being rivals, both with powerful Evols, one light one dark, always trying to figure out who's the strongest, who's actually on top... it works. 🫦

LADS celebrity AU

I am SO here for it!! What's kind of funny is that Sylus, Raf, and Zayne are kind of already celebrities 🤣 Depending on how you want to count being the Association's most wanted criminal, LOL. And Caleb was sort of a niche celebrity before, being Valedictorian of a major school & the coveted DAA program.

Hmmm what kind of celebrities though? Ofc it's fun if they're all rivals so a pop idol group is an appealing choice. But also interesting if they're each in a different "domain", so to speak.

Sylus has too many voice lines about being a rock musician (and it's too hot) for me to put him anywhere else. 🤣 Equally tempting to relegate him to guitar 'cause he's still a bad singer, or to say "practice makes perfect" and put him at the front 🤔 Either way he's definitely secretly also a poetry author 🤭 But would he be a bestseller or quietly doing indie publishing? hmmm...

Caleb's gotta be an actor. He's already so Tom-Cruise-in-Topgun coded and you know he'd LIVE for the attention. Plus it gives him the chance to get up to some shit while also being all like "what? who? me?" 🤣 Talking to Pips like "of course I have time for you" "gege you're booked back-to-back on shoots for the next six months!" No doubt he has his pilot's license and a small fleet of personal aircraft.

Rafayel has the most built-in celebrity status of all of them, and I feel like it's hard to do better than globally adored artist and singer. Maybe make him a pop idol instead of a classical opera singer (or both, 'cause why not??) Def comes from a long line of celebrities. I feel like there should be one more little twist in there... Maybe he's the celebrity host for a documentary series on archeology? 👀

Xavier would def have to be an olympic fencer who just started posting lazy vlogs because his coach pressured him to do it, and people love his authenticity and relaxed vibes, so he's developed a cult following on social media even though he almost never replies to comments. He's confused why so many people have started to show up to his fencing tournaments cheering for him and his teammates are like "are you kidding me? You have a million subscribers!"

Zayne is the trickiest to me! Because he would generally hate fame. Novelist is tempting because it's the type of celebrity that requires the least going outside and talking to people. I hate to take away him being a doctor, but he def doesn't give celebrity doctor vibes. Like he's not gonna be shilling scammy supplements. But I could totally see him being a cardiologist who somehow finds time to write doctor romances on the side. 😉 And people are shocked by how passionate and heartfelt they are, especially if they know him professionally. And yes that makes both him and Sylus authors on the side, I like what I like okay.

it's actually so funny how challenging it is to write bona fide graphic, horny smut. like people don't give smut writers enough credit. you are constantly running out of words to describe the same 2-4 body parts and same 4-6 motions. you are constantly attempting to do interesting and dynamic things in the prose with this extremely limited set of words. you are looking at your prose for the nastier bits and wondering if it actually sounds hot or if it just sounds goofy. you are then toning down your prose and then wondering if it now sounds tasteful or if it's just boring. you do ctrl+F for the word "cock" and there are 37 instances of it in the doc but you hate the 1-2 acceptable synonyms so there's nothing much you can do about it
