You’ve probably answered this before, but what’s your favorite Sydney/Maggie scene and why?

Ok, hi, I sent the ask about your favorite scene. I’m back. You don’t have to answer both of these if you don’t want to. BUT I have been reading your stuff and I find it interesting that you see Maggie realizing the depth of her feelings for Sydney in 410. It’s totally a matter of opinion since we’ll never have a solid answer, but I’ve always seen Maggie’s realization of feelings as the scene in 511 when Maggie agrees to go to england, though i’ll agree…

…with 410 in the sense that Syd is no longer tied down by her religion and because of that Maggie feels more comfortable asserting herself.

Yeah, I think you make an accurate point, back when I hadn’t watched season 5 yet, (or maybe I had…not sure I don’t remember) but I was probably a bit too hasty in proclaiming Maggie’s feelings in 4x10. Utterly too desperate which is probably not the right mindset to ascertain points made in an analysis. 4x10 was the start of something, - perhaps Maggie feeling something, that the person right there is important…is beautiful, and that change in Sydney did something to her, but yes probably not in the state of love or anything that deep yet, especially not consciously. Lurking deep within her mind, perhaps the vines spread unbeknownst to her. But I do believe its in 5x11 when she talks to Z, and Z mentions Maggie’s in love - I think that’s when she realises how deep she’s really fallen.

My favourite scene(s) are the two you mentioned in your ask….1) the shot of their hands and the single ‘Stay’ in 4x10, just because it was pretty powerful, and is sorta, kinda analogous to the ‘person A rambles and person B finds them cute and kisses them mid sentence’ (kinda..ahha or not? it gave me that vibe) but instead its something, well to me, something more powerful, innocent, a hand hold. to be with Syd just a little longer, just to be there next to her, everything else didn’t matter at that moment, reality can take a rest. And Syd’s face afterwards…heh, she felt it. Hahah.

2)Plus in 5x11 when Maggie…has to take a step back, mind all ??? when Sydney asks her to go to England with her through the geese pillow comment. Because there was that insecurity right before of not being enough for Sydney, of Sydney just having that tendency to leave, and after that talk with Z, she takes a risky step, she opens up and basically proclaims her love for Syd through the action of searching for their new bed, an implication of them really doing this, really getting serious,…moving in. She bared her soul. Also in a second the glimmer of disappointment at hearing Sydney’s new job prospect disappears when Sydney asks her to come with her and replaced with that was such a nice smile. Oh goodness, she was so happy, it warmed my heart. The kisses afterwards - plenty plenty cute. Also the blue and green colour scheme was really…I dunno memorable and nice. 

Also that beautiful scene of Maggie on the floor of her dream founded upon her hard work was too much. That staff position, everything she’s worked towards. She sat there lost, holding Syd’s letter, she sees none of anything except for what remains of Sydney. And she chokes back a sob when she talks about Sydney. Ah. That did things to me. Also the airport scene - Sydney stays - and that action is so powerful for this couple.

Those are the scenes that made my heart do flips…any scenes that plays with my emotions I like.

So haha all of their scenes. Their scenes just…they’re so well crafted….it’s very…it gives off a very calm, serene feeling even when they were arguing, it was just done very warmly. Dunno why I added that in and if that even makes sense haha. But I would’ve really loved it if they expanded on Maggie when she got injured in the bombing. Something was missing and I wished they explored her a bit more, I wished we got more time with her in ghost form. Off topic, sorry. Also long haired Maggie is wow. She’s wow in all seasons but S5…her maturity really gets to me. I can go on. Because wow pls help. They are amazing.

1.(She didn’t think Sydney would care enough to visit her at the ICU.) ('of course, she didn’t mean much to Dr Katz, afterall.’) (someone Syd cared about, but that she was still not enough for Sydney to stay) You .. you ... Just stab me in the heart already! It hurts to think that they're both thinking they're not enough for each other.

2.I recent found out about this ship, and that they were endgame. I can’t believe those that had been with this ship from the beginning! Must have been one hella ride with all the waiting and the unknown. Baruch hashem (Sydney’s voice echoing in my head!!) that they got their happy ending!

3.I’ve been reading and reading your post several times. Thanks for your answer! I just love your intricate attention to details of their behaviors and everything. I had to watch the scenes again and again while reading your post, and all the times I found myself “ahh that’s make sense”.

4.Sorry again, but can we talk about their reunion in season 5? I love Sydney’s entrance, her longing look at Maggie as she talks to her sister. And for the split seconds when Sydney kinda push Maggie to attends her sister we kinda see Maggie’s confusing? face? (Sorry my vocabulary is limited I donno what word to use) I bet all those feelings are rushing back to her before she could give a smile as Sydney turns to look at her. 

5.That face she makes is kinda the same face when Sydney told her “you look good Maggie” and walking off (again). (It’s a common theme now that Maggie is the one watching Sydney’s back as she leaves) So .. would you explore more both Maggie’s and Sydney’s internal monologue/thoughts through out this episode? Sorry if you’ve talk about this already (kindly linked me if you had)

6.During the operation, Dr Scott asks about their relationship and Maggie quickly dismisses it with “just friends” and her hands are shaking after the operation and telling Scott “I guess it does today” (the day that Sydney Katz is back) And then the confession, the kiss (we get to hear the kiss here too!!) And Maggie struggles for air after the kiss too!! Sydney once again making that effect her mentally and physically!! (Oh my. Sorry for another long ask 😬)

I’m going to try talk about Sydney without re-watching it because my internet is slow and I think I’ve watched it enough to be able to review it in my head haha. 

So Syd comes back for her sister - but she is planning to stay for Maggie. Yes that satisfying, in love face she makes when she says you look good Maggie - yes, that’s her realising that Maggie was the one - that after so long in Israel with Maggie in her head every single day - there was no one else. 

To me, the shaking has got to do with the fact that this surgery was something that meant everything to Sydney and if it means everything to Syd, it means everything to Maggie. It was something she absolutely could not fail, like every other patient but like this was a risky surgery and the possibility of failure isn’t small. Then we have Sydney watching from the outside and no matter how professional Maggie is - there’s a twinge of anxiety, fear swirling within her as she does surgery on someone that is someone’s everything. 

But this whole episode: Sydney comes in knowing what she wants (Maggie) and she doesn’t even take a second to hide it. She has come this far, she has embraced her sexuality, she has embraced who she truly loves. This throws Maggie off. Of course it does. She tells Maggie how good she looks then walks away. She kisses Maggie and then walks away. Like hahah I’m pretty sure she knows what she’s doing to Maggie.
