i've noticed they'd given my man Shifu those lovely little fangs in Secrets of the scroll.... so i've used it as an opportunity to have a lil rest from studying

you know i see why they didn't give him those canines in the movies

This is an idea I had called the “Shifu Trio”. In which Master Shifu is somehow split into three separate persons which are all based on his three core components.

The whole idea is that while Po and the furious five are in a panic trying to put Shifu back together, they begin to learn more about their master through his separate parts and begin to understand him better as a person.

"...all these amazing things were only possible for only one of my wards, the youngest in terms of the path of a Kung Fu student. He holds the honorary title of the Dragon Warrior, and I must admit that at first I thought that it was this proud name that gave him special abilities. However, even before being awarded the highest title a Kung Fu master could ever dream of, he remained unharmed after falling from a height of ... at the very least... one hundred zhàngs*. I'm speaking to you as a wizard — how far is it possible, ma'am, to get away with just a slight bruise to the fluffy chin, having made a path to the ground that is not inferior to the height of your Astronomy Tower?"

"It... it doesn't seem possible to me... without any special charms or a dozen defensive spells," McGonagall said, puzzled. "Of course, a lot depends on the level of magic proficiency, and perhaps for some, just one spell is enough for such a trick... In any case, it should be powerful enough."

"Alas, the fighter we are talking about was just a noodle-maker's assistant at the time and hardly had any knowledge of the secrets of high-level witchcraft... But this is not the only case when some... supernatural forces manifested themselves in the abilities of the inhabitants of our world. Some did not consider it essential to use this gift for good purposes, which once almost resulted in the death of my loved ones and the complete disappearance of our craft."

Shifu paused to collect his thoughts.

I never noticed this when I was younger, but those little shots of Shifu adds so much to the final battle scene in Kung Fu Panda 2. In the first photo he’s scared, terrified even because he believes he’s about to witness Po die as he stands before Shen and the weapon. 

He then starts to understand that Po is going to attempt to use the move Shifu showed him earlier in the film, the final teaching of Oogway; inner peace. He is still worried as Po could very much die. 

Finally, he’s in awe as his student not only found inner peace (Shifu was not aware of this as Po was alone when it happened) but he diverted the cannon that took out everyone the moment before. Such an amazing movie.

Very beautiful and underrated scene between the student and the master...

"It's... truly miraculous. I have never ever known such world like yours existed. So you came from the Celestial Empire... Apparently, your custom is to refer to you as master Shifu, sir?"

"Just as you like", he uttered humbly. "But you are right: in the secular I'm called master Shifu. In turn, I was incorrect for not asking your name. May I know how to refer to you properly, madam?"

"My last name is McGonagall. Still, master Shifu, I do not understand what's the connection between... witchcraft and martial arts can be."

Shifu thoughtfully ran his slender fingers over his beard several times, figuring out where to start.

"Decades of immersing myself into the craft to which I am devoted whole-heartedly, have allowed me to become convinced of the existence of a certain boundary, when crossing which Kung Fu transforms into actual magic. But the comprehension of this amazing transformation is not available to many, but only to animals with the gift of sorcery.

Imagine, madam McGonagall... one of the most important sections of the study of Kung Fu is the introduction to the technique of managing the life energy of Chi. Chi flows constantly in each of us... Any of the lessons that a Kung Fu warrior has to learn to some extent is related to the ability to handle it correctly. All my students are familiar with the techniques of replenishing and maintaining the balance of Chi in the body, but not all are able to use it to travel through space or make a giant energy dragon a reality..."

McGonagall thought of Weasley twins and their invention, tested in the Great Hall of Hogwarts in their last year at school - a magical firework in the form of a gigantic sparkling mystical lizard.
