Tears

my oh my how they flow,

so warm and gentle down my cheeks,

yet so full of brokenness and sorrow.

I am amazed at how easily i can cry,

but also very surprised at how i can manage to even try;

try to forget all that has happened.

my memory reminds me of all the things that have occurred,

making me wish that this was all a blur.

instead of trying to mend and heal my broken heart,

i’ve decided just to make a new start.

i’m saying goodbye to all these fears,

welcoming the good things and accepting the happy tears;

so just like the image above, instead of crying over and over,

I’m picking my head up, not needing a shoulder,

to cry on, but embracing myself and heading to my place of peace, Zion.

As of now I’m reversing my tears, wiping them away, anticipating a whole new tomorrow; a better day.
