i don't think they ever wanted kids. they were wildly irresponsible and became parents way too young. this doesn't 'ruin' their relationship since they're too stupid to see a problem with what they're doing- although they really don't like having to take care of their kids. veneer is a little better at being there until he realizes he actually has to be a dad. he finds them cute but isn't very attentive. velvet hates her kids. she throws rocks at them or something. they could chew on wires while the twins watch because they have nothing going on up there. spiderwebs and flies
