TIME FOR SOME LANE KIM WHAT-IFS DARLING!!!!

I love her so much, she is literally my wife, and I think she deserved better.

Okay so starting with relationships after Dave.

First up, Jamie, yes, Paris’s Princeton Jamie. This is one of the more logical(?) ones, since, in the episode where Lane is living with Rory at Yale, Jamie is there. In that episode Rory lies to Jamie that Lane is a druggie and going ‘cold turkey’ to try to cover for Paris not calling him. This could’ve culminated in Jamie swinging by the dorm to try to confront Paris, meeting Lane, and having the awkward conversation that she is not, in fact, a recovering drug addict, probably the furthest thing from it. He’d apologize, (being the gentleman he is), by inviting her to coffee after he gets dumped by Paris, and Jamie is drawn to her small town-newly free from her controlling mom- charm. In the show Jamie is technically supposed to be at Yale for the weekend but leaves after the Saturday when Paris dumps him, and in this scenario Jamie stays for the Sunday, wanting to get to know Lane more. Lane would get scared once he goes back to Princeton, getting flashes back to when Dave left, suddenly cutting herself off from Jamie, nat wanting to be hurt again. And Jamie would SPAM her phone with calls, until he suddenly shows up at Rory’s dorm again, Paris assumes he’s there for her, but he pushes past her and gets to Lane, asking why she hasn’t been talking to him. She tries to brush him off, saying that it just wouldn’t work, but Jamie keeps pushing, needing an answer. Rory would usher the dorm out, (being the W best friend she should’ve been), and Paris would ABSOLUTELY put her ear to the door. They would have a deep, (slightly yelled) conversation in the dorm, until it comes out that Lanes scared. Jamie promises that he likes her, that he will stay connected with her, even if he goes to Princeton. Then they hug, (bc in my mind, Lane has some religious trauma from her mom, she’s slightly unnerved by the thought of intimacy)

Next up, a slightly bigger stretch, Madeline , Rory’s air headed friend from Chilton. I can totally see Maddie being intrigued by Lane when she meets her at the party where Rory kisses Tristan, asking Rory about her constantly at school. Maddie probably has no problem with her sexuality, probably too aloof to realize that most people find it weird (sadly) to talk about having a crush on someone of the same sex so…. Casually??? Maddie would constantly drop by Stars Hollow, always hanging around Rory to get closer to Lane, she would be SOO fascinated by Lanes vast knowledge of random band knowledge. Rory would get annoyed so quick, Loralei would also see, but be slightly more teasing. Loralei would tease Lane one day as Maddie walked into the diner, saying that Lane already as a ‘number one fan/admirer’. Lane would be slightly confused (my poor religiously traumatized girl) she would try to lie to herself, saying this is nothing more that a friendship. She would feel even worse around Mama Kim, feeling like she’s committed the ultimate crime, going against her religion. This feeling would be worse than the one she gets when she lies to her mom, because this time, it’s not just against her mom, but her whole religion. She would get really scared, and suddenly start rambling to Maddie in the middle of Sophie’s Music Shop, confessing her crush as she rambles. Maddie would stand there, dazed that Lane shares her feelings. She would grab Lanes hand as she’s flailing it during her rant, effectively stopping her rant, and say, ‘I like you too, Lane’ with a bashful smile. They would just stare at each other for a bit, until Sophie comes up to them, bringing them to the side, and having a deep, meaningful conversation with them, assuring Lane she is not a ‘terrible sinner’ for liking Maddie, and telling Maddie that this relationship will be a struggle for her, Lanes mindset will not be easily broken. Maddie nods, more determined than ever, saying that for Lane, she’s up for the challenge.

Third, Finn! My favorite Yale man! Again, they would meet when Lane was living at Yale after she was kicked out. She would prob be running an errand for one of Rory’s dorm mates, accidentally running into Finn, Colin, and Logan. They would be startled by her sudden appearance, but Finn can’t help but feel charmed by the way Lane rambles, explaining that she’s on some errands, getting coffee for Paris, pre-wrap for Janet, paper for Tana, and a book for Rory. Logan stops her, asking how she knows Rory, Lane, still ranting, explains that she’s been friends with Rory since they were kids, suprising the three. They would be shocked, asking what are the odds of two girls from the same small town getting into Yale. Lane would ramble more, almost incoherent, that she doesn’t go here, explaining that her mom kicked her out because she didn’t want to go to 7th Day Adventist College, and that her mom found out she plays drums and called her a blashphemous, sinning, demon. They would stand still, shocked by her blunt words, Lane probably doesn’t know what she’s saying, practically bouncing off the walls from all the energy drinks she’s consumed. They would (trying to lighten the mood) offer to walk her back to the dorm, not wanting her to drop any of the things she’s holding in her alarmingly tall stack of things. They all offer to hold things, Lane refuses, but Finn insists, ‘Sorry Love, it would be simply improper of me to allow a young lady, such as yourself, to possibly trip and fall into the snow because of some books’, he would say. Logan and Colin would exchange a knowing stare, slightly exasperated at Finns antics. They drop her off, and Logan talks to Rory a bit, inviting her to a party, suprising Rory by inviting Lane too, who has now fallen asleep on the couch of Rory’s apartment. Rory notices the soft stare Finn is giving her best friend and issues a warning stare. They would get closer, and when Lane says she’s going to go back to Stars Hollow, Finn refuses profusely, saying she can stay at his until she gets back on her feet, not wanting her to be back to submitting to her mothers ways. She hesitantly agrees, confused at the affection Finn shows for her, she’s noticed he’s stooped hooking up with girls, and Logan tells her that Finn likes her, and that he can tell she does too. Lane rushes to Finns, he opens the door, and she blurts out that she likes him as soon as he open the door. She tries to take it back, feeling ashamed at her confidence, but Finn suddenly pulls her into his apartment and kisses her, he releases her lips, saying he returns her feelings, and that if she’ll entertain the idea, he’d like her to stay here with him, saying she could apply to a local community college.

This is getting long, and I’m not done yet, so I’m going to split this into another post.

Y’all Lane Kim deserved better…. Like Im not saying she needed to become a big, ‘Bowie’ like rockstar, but I wish her life after Dave was a little more than Zach, kids, Kim’s Antiques, kids, and the diner. Like out of all the storylines the writers could’ve chosen to make painfully realistic they HAD to choose Lane?! The girl who spent the entirety of the show, plagued by her fears that she would turn out to amount to nothing?!

I get that a writer of the show based Lane off of her life, but I’m just so sad! I wish they would’ve given her a love interest OTHER THAN ZACK! I have SOOO many ideas on how Lane could’ve met other characters, ranging from insane, out-of-this-world, never would’ve happened, pairings and reasonable, only a slight stretch, ones. Would y’all like to hear them? I’ll post again in a minute about my pairings and scenarios for Lanes future.

Oh, and her future, I feel like that, even if she stayed in Stars Hollow, she could’ve stood up to Mama Kim once more, she could’ve become a music teacher, or open up her own music shop?? She could’ve gone to a community college and gotten a degree and moved?? She could’ve gotten a job, used all the money she saved through her life, rented an apartment and just hung out with Rory while she went to Yale??? That last one is a stretch but I just want SOMETHING for lane!

Y’all…… I rewatched A.P Bio and….. OMG I FORGOT HOW MUCH I LOVE IT!!! Grace, Devin, Jack, Mary, and Heather are my favorites! I wish they delved more into the whole Grace-Devin secret romance thing tho😭😭😭. Like when the whole class is shouting at each other about the chaos Jack caused(he’s just a little silly ok) you can hear Devin say ‘I don’t know what this is!’ To Grace and I need context rn! Soo… if anyone out there writes fanfic about A.P Bio…. PLEASE WRITE ABOUT THEM. WRITE ABOUT THEM AND MY LIFE IS YOURS 🧎‍♀️🧎‍♀️. Also Jack was such a cutie patootie, when the kids steal his bullies toe, he says ‘my babies! My sweet babies!’ And like-like-like AWWWW!!!!! Also the whole evil villain-sidekick dynamic between Jack and Heather was to DIE for!! And Heathers crush on Dan! And the way Heather seduced that Prarie Hick dude during the mechanical bull scene😱😱😱 Last thing, my ship name for Devin and Grace is Psychos Fear, because Grace is like a clinical psycho and Devin is like a Jonathan Crane-esque fear, darkness, anarchy nerd. It’s also a play on the Psychosphere line from ‘True Detectives’. Like just imagine Grace says some deranged thing and the whole class is like freaked out and Devins like ‘me too dude, me too’

Anyways all in all, an amazing show more people should watch it.

That post movie depression be hittin’.

I just watched ‘The Notebook’ for the first time and now that it’s over I feel dreadfully empty inside. I yearn to be loved as passionately as Noah and Allie loved each other. Then again I get post movie depression with just about every movie I watch, mostly because movies provide escape, and once it’s over, the escape is gone, and rewatching is never the same as the first time.

Cons of being my friend:

-Sometimes I talk waaaay toooo muccchhh. Like I seriously need to shut up sometimes.

- I have trust issues. I am currently going through a friendship crisis where it seems my best friend would rather talk to anybody but me. Also like I’ll sit and listen to her no matter what, but if I’m passionately yapping about why Girl, Interrupted is an AMAZING BOOK, she’ll stick her finger up, and say ‘I’m bored changing subject now’, I will need reassurance (non verbal, like being an active listener)

-I don’t really like clingy people, again the friendship crisis, she was like dependent on me for happiness last year (she said she would khs if we stopped being friends) and then this year she went cold turkey and is pulling away, so yeah I’m not really fond of being clingy.

-I have anxiety (as like every high schooler does) and depression. I may not always be up to ANY social interactions.

-I have family issues.

On a lighter note, Leslie is such a sweetheart and I hope she lives to reunite with Erik and Lyle. They deserve so much, and Leslie is willing to give them the world. They deserve so much more than what anyone can give them, but love is a wonderful thing to have, especially if it’s the love a a mother, biological (fuck k*tty) or not.

After carrying their pain for YEARS, OF COURSE IT CAME OUT when being GRILLED (fuck you to that prosecutor too) about their trauma!!
