Lake Town or Bust?
We learn what happened, or what the men think happened, whichever side is true, we won't know.
Master list
Thorin and I walk back out to the others, watching everyone as Thorin walks to a window and I go towards Kili to check on him.
"A dwarvish windlance..." I hear a hushed whisper come from Thorin, I look up seeing Bilbo step near him, whispering to him, I shake my head and go back to looking at the wound Kili had.
"The last time we saw such a weapon... Smaug had attacked, a city on fire," Balin spoke gently, I notice, through his pain, Kili listens in, trying to focus his eyes on Balin and Bilbo. "The day that Smaug destroyed Dale, Girion, the Lord of the City, rallied his bowmen to fire upon the dragon."
"But a dragons hide is tough, tougher than the strongest armor" I spoke, "No one arrow can pierce the hide of a dragon, besides the black arrow fired from the windlance..." I whispered softly, "very few were made... Girion was running low-"
"Had the aim of men been true that day, much would have been different," Thorin interrupted. I send a look his way, before biting my cheek and staying quiet. Bard was listening, he walks towards Thorin, Bilbo and Balin and I can feel the tension begin, I roll my eyes already knowing what's to come.
"You speak as if you were there, as if you lived through it," Bard spoke up, I wanted to speak, to let him know who he was talking to exactly, but I stayed quiet. "All dwarves know the tale," Thorin whispered, "Everyone knows the tale," I piped up, "though, some don't fully believe that Girion hit the dragon, loosened a scale. Tale's get spun, word gets wrapped so far that its hard to dechiper what is real and what is fake, Dwarves can believe one thing, while Man can believe another, every tale told by the other will never be believed by the other, until it can be proven, or there is some truth behind it."
"Da can we keep her?" Sigrid spoke, "She'll have good word against the lord of lake town..."
"No! She's going to the lonely mountain with us," Thorin barked, moving to stand behind me as I wiped Kili's brow. Dwalin smirks while Balin shakes his head, "The lady Tay, as Throinwas trying to say, is she needs to stay with us. She knows the lore and has been very helpful during our journey," Balin tried.
"No, thats not close to what I was saying-" I jab my elbow back into him, "you took our money, where are the weapons?" He then asked Bard as he walked towards him. "Wait here..." Bard spoke before he disappeared.
"Where else does he plan for us to go?" I spoke softly, rolling my eyes as I look down at Kili, frowning slightly, he was trying to hide his pain and I could see it, but he was acting for his uncle.
"Tomorrow begins the last days of autumn," Thorin spoke after Bard was gone for a bit, "Durins day falls on the morn after next, we must reach the mountain before then." Balin confirmed what we all knew.
"And if we do not?" Kili's soft voice spoke up around everyone as we gather in a circle, well all except me, I was standing near the window looking at the mountain that stood far away, but close enough to reach soon. "If we fail to find the hidden door before that time?" "Then this quest has been for nothing," Fili states, I wanted to speak up, but footsteps started near us so I refused to speak.
Bard places the weapons on the table and I hear grunts and murmurs of disappointment, "what is this?" A growl escape pasts Thorin's lips. "A pike hook, made from an old harpoon," Bard comments back, "and this?" "A crowbill, we call it, fashioned from a smithys hammer. Its heavy in hand, I grant, but, in defense of your life, these will serve you better than none." Bard continued after others had questions about the 'weapons' he brought forth.
"We paid you for weapons. Iron-forged swords and axes!" Gloin's deep voice spoke up, a growl behind it, "it's a joke!" Bofur spoke up, soon the other dwarves were murmuring under their own breaths about how these 'weapons' aren't even weapons at all.
"You won't find better outside the city armory," Bard explained, I couldn't help the groan that fell past my lips as he spoke, "all iron-forged weapons are held there under lock and key," he added. 'You're feeding the fire Bard' I thought to myself, I roll my eyes and ignore the conversation after this, moving for Bard's kids.
"Why must you really stay with them?" Tilda's little voice spoke "up, I glance at her as I sit down, I think for a second, before giving her a smile, "they're all men, they don't cook much, they hardly bathe, they need a women to make sure they eat and stay clean, bandage their wounds," I spoke, "plus, I've grown fond of them," I added as I look between them all. "They're good dwarves, each one has something that makes them... them." "Would you tell us? What makes each Dwarf, them?"
I think for a moment, glancing between each Dwarf, thinking about each one, "Bofur, amazing singer, never takes that hat off, Bifur, haven't quite figured him out due to the language barrier," I smile softly, "Bombur, big sweet heart, as much as he loves his food, he will always give it to someone else than keep it, Gloin, big man loves his family more than anything, his little boy Gimli and his wife are always in his pocket..." I whisper to the children, "Oin, is very mush his own person as well, though, any difficult situation, despite his hearing, he'll do his best to provide anything he can. Ori, the sweetheart will always stick up for everyone despite his age, Dori, is very protective of his little brother, anything happens to him, they'll be hell to pay, Nori, very stealthy stealer, pickpocket, but he always tries to steal from those who won't miss it, I know, not a good thing but in some way it is," I grin as I see Nori do just that, though he puts it right back. "Balin, smart, older, very much the dad of the group, Dwalin, that dwarf might look intimidating, but stick cookies in front of him and you'll win his heart, ask Bilbo," I laugh as Dwalin glares at me for a spilt second but gives a half smile. "Fili, just like Dori, is protective of his brother, but heaven forbid you steal any one of his knives and you'll be asking for it, he's like a big brother to everyone... Kili, little shit, though he's got the looks, that kid can get out of anything he wanted too... very sweet, especially when it comes to his mother, he loves his Amad." I glance at Thorin, biting my cheek, "Thorin... where do I start with that one..." I give a small laugh, "he's hell bent on this quest... once his mind is made up, no one can change it... He's very stubborn... I'm hoping it doesn't run in his family, but seeing his nephews, it definitely does."
"What about the hobbit?" Bain asks, glancing at Bilbo, "What have you learned of him?" I glance at the hobbit in question, tilting my head, "he misses home, but he wants to see Erebor and help the dwarves find their home... Selfless, as much as he doesn't want to be, he cares for the group. The dwarves even, though he hated them in the beginning." "You've made a family," Sigrid spoke up, I look towards her, giving a smile and a nod, "we have, very much made a family," I respond looking back at the dwarves as I see them whispering amongst themselves since Bard walked away.

Okay sorry but the real Thorin, the real Thorin, he’s the Thorin who drops his weapons and motions for his kin to follow in order to save Bilbo’s limbs from the trolls. Thorin who would suffer the uncertainty (and the indignity) of being captured, being trussed up in a sack, and his companions put on a rotating spit - all because he couldn’t let the trolls rip Bilbo apart.
Now I’m not saying this is an especially Bagginshield moment, I’m saying this is a reflection of the soul Thorin has. He would sacrifice himself, his own kin and family, rather than give an order that would bring about definite harm to another.
Really, whether this is a flaw in his character or not is up to you to decide, but Thorin weighs life as invaluable.
All of which makes dragonsick!Thorin all the more painful. Thorin who would see his family’s life paid in return for gold, who’d throw Bilbo from the ramparts, who would choose to put his friends and family at almost certain death - not to save a life, but to hoard some gold.
That’s not Thorin. That’s the sort of dwarf Thorin fears becoming - and that’s the real tragedy to the dragonsickness. It turns him into his worst nightmare, and makes him the complete opposite to how he actually is.

Fanfiction Writer Asks
Most of the writer ask posts I come across are only like ten or so questions long so I thought I’d try to make a longer one because we like talking about our writing! Feel free to reblog!
1) How old were you when you first starting writing fanfiction?
2) What fandoms do you write for and do you have a particular favourite if you write for more than one?
3) Do you prefer writing OC’s or reader inserts? Explain your answer.
4) What is your favourite genre to write for?
5) If you had to choose a favourite out of all of your multi chaptered stories, which would it be and why?
6) If you had to delete one of your stories and never speak of it again, which would it be and why?
7) When is your preferred time to write?
8) Where do you take your inspiration from?
9) In your xxx fic, what’s your favourite scene that you wrote?
10) In your xxx fic, why did you decide to end it like that? Did you have an alternative ending in mind?
11) Have you ever amended a story due to criticisms you’ve received after posting it?
12) Who is your favourite character to write for? Why?
13) Who is your least favourite character to write for? Why?
14) How did you come up with the title for the xxx? - You can ask about multiple stories.
15) If you write OC’s, how do you decide on their names?
16) How did you come up with the idea for xxx?
17) Post a line from a WIP that you’re working on.
18) Do you have any abandoned WIP’s? What made you abandon them?
19) Are there any stories that you’ve written that you’d really love to do a sequel to?
20) Are there any stories that you wished you’d ended differently?
21) Tell me about another writer(s) who you admire? What is it about them that you admire?
22) Do you have a story that you look back on and cringe when you reread it?
23) Do you prefer listening to music when you’re writing or do you need silence?

25) Have you ever cried whilst writing a story?
26) Which part of your xxx fic was the hardest to write?
27) Do you make a general outline for your stories or do you just go with the flow?
28) What is something you wished you’d known before you started posting fanfiction?
29) Do you have a story that you feel doesn’t get as much love as you’d like?
30) In contrast to 29 is there a story which gets lots of love which you kinda eye roll at?
31) Send me a fic recommendation and I’ll post it for my followers to see! (The asker is to send the rec not the answerer)
32) Are any of your characters based on real people?
33) What’s the biggest compliment you’ve gotten?
34) What’s the harshest criticism you’ve gotten?
35) Do you share your story ideas with anyone else or do you keep them close to your chest?
36) Can you give us a spoiler for one of your WIP’s?
37) What’s the funniest story you’ve written?
38) If you could collab with any other writer on here, who would it be? (Perhaps this question will inspire some collabs!) If you’re shy, don’t tag the blog, just name it.
39) Do you prefer first, second or third person?
40) Do people know you write fanfiction?
41) What’s you favourite minor character you’ve written?

Not a King to You (Thorin x Fem! Reader)
AN: Bridgerton scenes have been all over my TikTok recently, so this happened… I’m also about to be done with school and I’m so excited to have free-time again for writing. I hope you all enjoy!
“Did you not hear me?” Thorin suddenly turned, and for a moment your memories flashed back to his Dragon Sickness, his screaming amidst the gold hoard while you all searched for the Arkenstone.
“I made my order, and I am not going back on it.”
“Thorin, please, you’re being unreasonable,” You urged, pausing in your trail after him, you felt your pulse quicken. His eyes were darkened, and for a moment you felt uneasy as he stared.
“I’ve made my decision, I am the king, I decide.”
“Thorin-”
“I am your king!” Thorin bellowed out, glaring as he leaned forward with his words making you take a step back.
The room grew silent as he stared at you, and for a moment you felt like arguing, arguing that he’s not being himself and that you did not deserve to be spoken to in such a manner. But instead, you took another step back.
“I’m sorry,” Your voice was eerily professional as you clasped your hands in front of you. “I thought you were just…Thorin, to me,” The weight of the crown pressing onto your head was suddenly heavier than ever before. The uneasy feeling in your gut returned, and suddenly you were aware of just how different Thorin felt in this moment. This wasn’t your husband.
“(Y/n) I-”
“My mistake, my King,” You smiled. “Do you need anything else from me, or may I be excused?” You could feel the eyes of the guards on you as embarrassment crawled up the back of your neck. Of course this had to happen in public, being made into a spectacle. No one could deny Thorin’s decision, not even his wife.
“(Y/n),” Thorin was softer now, bodily language shifting as he took a step towards you before stopping.
He took in your body language, the way you leaned back away from him and how your eyes refused to meet his. Gulping down the lump in his throat, Thorin nodded, “You are excused.”
“Thank you, my King.” You bowed your head just slightly enough to show proper professional respect, but not enough for your crown to slide before turning and exiting the hall, lip quivering as soon as your back was turned to him.
“Have a good evening, my King,” were your final words as you disappeared from sight, tears stinging your eyes.
That was the last that you had seen of Thorin, as the moment you left you called upon your handmaids to assist you in moving your things to another suite just down the hall. For days you succeeded in avoiding him, until tonight.
“A letter, from the king,” The messenger said as they passed the envelope to your hands, uneasiness settling in your gut. Divorce papers? You couldn’t help but go to the worst case scenario as you nodded, “Thank you,” You gave a small smile before dismissing the messenger.
Turning to your desk, you carefully opened the envelope, slicing the wax seal with your letter opener.
Eyes drifting over the paper, your brows furrowed. It was an invitation to dinner.
Looking out the window, you realized it was nearly that time. Sighing, you weighed your options. Don’t go, or go and see what Thorin has in store for you.
“If you’re scared, then do it scared,” You recalled your mother’s words, always the one to tell you to do the thing you didn’t want to. Groaning to yourself you felt the urge to slam your head down on your desk but instead you simply dropped the letter on your desk before calling for your handmaid.
“I kindly request your assistance, I’m needing to dress for dinner.”
-
The dining room was empty when you arrived, making your heart sink. Just like so many dinners scheduled before, Thorin hadn’t shown up.
Glancing towards your usual seat, you noted that two plates of food were already prepared, still steaming. So, the cooks thought he would show.
Rounding the table, you instead chose to wait by the window, staring out over the vast green hills and ridges that led to Dale and eventually, to Laketown.
“Thank you for finding this,” Thorin’s words caught your ears but you didn’t dare move, enjoying tracing the path of the Running River, imagining yourself on a little boat drifting down said river.
“I know this is her favorit- (Y/n),” Thorin paused, breathing out your name as his face brightened with a grin. You showed up.
Being addressed, you internally sighed, turning to acknowledge him.
“Thank you again,” Thorin dismissed the servant before returning his gaze back to your form, the room going silent as his eyes glanced over you from head to toe. It had truly been days since he saw you, during the day being so wrapped up in meetings and ‘urgent’ matters, he hadn’t had a chance to try and reconcile with you sooner.
“Don’t look at me like that,” You broke the silence, looking away and feeling tears sting the back of your eyes again.
“Like what?”
Scoffing, you shook your head, “Like you still love me.”
“(Y/n) please- I’m sorry,” Thorin put the bottle of your favorite spirit down on the table before rounding it to get to you.
“What I said to you was not okay, not in any situation,” He reached out, a flicker of hope dancing in his chest as you didn’t recoil, allowing him to take your hands in his. “I cannot provide an excuse for my actions, nor can I provide a reason for both are dismissive for how much I’ve hurt you.”
“Please look at me,” One of Thorin’s hands released yours in favor of cupping the side of your cheek, the warmth of his hand was the breaking point as a tear finally escaped and trailed down your cheek. Looking up at him, you were surprised to find guilt and anguish at the sight of your tearful face, his thumb gently sweeping over the swell of your cheek to wipe it away.
“I look at you like I love you because I do love you, please don’t ever doubt that.”
“I’m not a king to you, I am Thorin, the blacksmith you met so many years ago.”
“Are you?”
“I am, and I will do whatever it takes to reassure you of that.”
Reaching your hand up you gripped his hand, your breath leaving in a shaky exhale as you shut your eyes. Thorin leaned his head down, pressing his forehead against yours. “If you will let me, that is?”
“Always,” You murmured, briefly opening your eyes before they slipped shut again as Thorin pressed his lips to yours in a soft kiss, the ache from being apart becoming apparent as you relished in his touch.
“Now, let’s eat,” Thorin murmured after pulling away, not wanting to separate from you but knowing you both needed dinner.

Hi! I love your stuff I saw requests were open 😁
Could you Write a fem human reader x thorin who’s shorter than him, and she’s new to the quest meeting the company in Bilbos house, Gandalf already knows her and is like a farther figure.
Thorins a bit skeptical of her at first but those feelings die down as he realises she’s his one. Basically Thorin being a dick at first but warms up to the reader, some confessions are made and some fluffy/little-very tame nsfw stuff occurs when they reach Rivendell?
Thank you!! ☺️
(oh I love this so much! I hope this does your idea justice, there isn't smut in this one since it got quite long by itself, but I'd be happy to make a part 2 where they get to Rivendell if you'd like :) hope you enjoy :D)
An Unexpected Guest (Thorin x female!human!reader)
Thorin watched you from across the campfire. You were too busy laughing alongside Fili and Kili to notice his probing stare, and seeing how easily you'd integrated into the group only made him more perplexed by your presence. He quickly averted his gaze though when he caught the look Balin sent him. The older dwarf simply chuckled and patted him on the shoulder, reminding Thorin of the evening he had met you.
The dwarves had been gathered at Bilbo's house for some time now, and evening had fallen by the time another relatively quiet knock, sounded at the door. The hobbit almost seemed to be seething at the idea of more people showing up, but this time it was Gandalf who rose to answer.
"It seems our final guest has arrived." At this, Thorin shot him a glare that went unnoticed as Gandalf left the room.
"Gandalf! It's wonderful to see you again."
"Likewise, my dear. Come in, I shall introduce you to the company."
After you had hung your cloak up, you closed the door and followed Gandalf into the room where the dwarves sat. Thorin could only watch in disbelief as you politely thanked Mr Baggins for hosting the event and shook his hand (which appeared to at least partially dispel the hobbit's bad spirits). The wizard had really invited another without his consent - and a human woman at that.
With a gentle hand on your shoulder, Gandalf said, "It is my pleasure to introduce to you Y/n L/n, a student of mine. I have decided that she will accompany you along this journey."
Thorin rose from his chair abruptly, and all eyes turned to him.
"When were you going to tell me about this decision?" His voice was quiet, but his rage was betrayed by his clenched fists. "You do not have the right to-"
"Thorin, I have said she will go with you, and you should be wise to respect that." The wizard's face was dark, and Thorin paused before he reluctantly stepped forward to look at you. "I can assure you that she will be of use. She has studied under me for some time and is a rather excellent navigator, which I suspect will come in handy."
You bowed respectfully. "It is an honour to meet you, Thorin." You made brief eye contact with him as you rose and he felt something in his chest tighten, but he chose to ignore it.
"Don't get in the way," He muttered and returned to the table.
Later in the evening, he found himself stealing glances at you as you chatted merrily with some of the others. He couldn't quite figure you out - you seemed an intelligent young woman, but he couldn't risk compromising the quest, and he didn't trust humans in general, but just maybe there was a small part of him that wanted you to come...
His train of thought was interrupted by Balin's hand on his shoulder, and he quickly realized he'd been staring for longer than he intended.
"Your feelings are written on your forehead, laddie."
Thorin cleared his throat and looked anywhere but where you sat. "I feel nothing for her. She's a liability."
Balin chuckled and patted his shoulder. "If you say so."
Balin had moved to sit next to Thorin in the time he was stuck in his own head, and spoke quietly with a smile on his face.
"You can't stare at her forever laddie." The glare he was sent did not deter him. "It's been the same with her since she first arrived, and I've never seen you like this before with any other lass." The two dwarves both looked at you, still teasing Kili over something or other.
Feeling the eyes in you, you looked across the fire and waved shyly with a smile when you saw Thorin watching you. And as much as he tried to resist, he couldn't help but give you a smile in return.
Now that he thought about it, maybe he had warmed up to you a little more than he'd like to admit.
"Lad, she makes you happy, and you'd be a fool to deny yourself that."
Thorin sighed. As if he was trying to pretend he wasn't saying it out loud, he murmured, "What if she doesn't feel the same?"
"She does, I'm sure of it. She has the same look in her eyes as you do." Balin put a comforting hand on his knee. "Y/n is your One, Thorin. You know it better than I do."
Before he could respond, Kili ran over to them. "Uncle! Can you come and stand next to Y/n? She's making fun of me and you're the only one taller than her!"
Balin laughed and clapped him on the back. "Go on laddie."
Trying to settle his beating heart, Thorin stood and let Kili lead him over to his One (even if she didn't know it yet).
Fili pushed her lightly in Thorin's direction. "She thinks she's better than us because she's two inches taller than me."
"Is that so?" Seeing the slight blush on your cheeks, Thorin realized that Balin may not have been exaggerating, so with a subtle smirk on his face he looked down at you. He was only a few inches taller but it felt like he towered over you in that moment. "I don't appreciate the torment of my nephews, Miss Y/n."
You looked up at him and smiled with a teasing tone. "Well, they started it. I can't take all the blame, your majesty."
If his heart was beating too fast before, he was pretty sure it just stopped completely.
The two of you maintained eye contact for just longer than necessary, before he stepped away and cleared his throat. Fili seemed to have caught on to his uncle's unusual behavior, and with a wink in your direction he subtly directed Kili back over to Balin.
"May..." He paused, still uncertain. "May I speak with you, Y/n? Somewhere a little more private."
"Of course." Mahal, your smile was almost enough for him to forget he was nervous in the first place.
He led you a little further into the woods, just far enough from the group that they couldn't eavesdrop, and took a deep breath.
You smiled anxiously. "You're making me nervous, Thorin. What is it?"
In an uncharacteristically quiet voice, he said, "I think you're my One."
"Your One?"
"It's the dwarven term for a soulmate."
The blush on your face spread as you processed his words. "O-oh. I see."
"I must apologize for my behavior when we first met. I was skeptical of you, but you have shown yourself to be not only a valued member of the company, but also a caring and wonderful person." Thorin looked up from the ground to meet your eyes. "I have grown fond of you, Y/n, and I feel a connection with you that I have never experienced before."
"Thorin, I-"
"If you do not feel the same then we need never discuss it again, but I-"
He was interrupted with your finger over his lips. You giggled at his confused expression and took his hands. "Thorin, of course I feel the same." You smiled sheepishly. "I was hoping to hide it for a little longer but Kili saw right through me."
"He is more perceptive than he looks," he chuckled, tracing his fingers over yours.
You lifted one hand to softly cup Thorin's cheek. "Either way, I'm glad the feeling is mutual."
Feeling your fingers in his hair when you tugged him down to kiss you, he had never been so glad for Balin's prying in his life.

Fanfic Writer Ask Game
These are always fun so I wanted to make one! Reblog this and let others send you an ask based on any of these emojis/questions:
❤️ What is your favorite line that you’ve written in a fic?

If you’re still struggling with writers block and your ask post still applies then: number 42 and Thorin Oakenshield 🖤
Paper Rings
Thorin x Reader
A/N: thank you so much for this ask!! Yes, the ask post still applies! I hope you enjoy this!
Summary: Thorin and Y/N have been secretly together for a year, what happens when the boys asks her about marriage to their uncle?
Warnings: fluffy, slight song lyrics from Paper Rings by Tayler Swift
I never believed in love at first sight, well, that was until Thorin Oakenshield and his company came through my small town, as soon as those blue eyes of his met mine, oh you bet I was done for. That was two years ago, now we’re in Erebor, the mountain was claimed, Smaug was defeated, and Thorin and everyone is healed and we started working on fixing everything, hoping everything was back to normal.
“Y/N!” I roll my eyes as I hear two sets of feet running towards me, I quickly move out of the way so I don’t get trampled just as they stop, they’re breathing heavy. I look towards both Fili and Kili as they lean on their knees, panting slightly before the finally catch their breathe.
“Would you ever consider marrying our uncle? We really need to know the answer!” Kili spilled out quickly, earning a smack from his older brother, who quickly offers another answer, “it’s for a bet we have with Bofur and Nori, Ki and I think you would, but those two don’t think so.”
I feel my face heat up slightly before I smile at the boys, “I’m not answering that. Nice try you two… but go run along and tell Bofur and Nori whatever lie you wish.” I state before continuing my journey towards the gardens.
The truth is, I would marry Thorin, there’s been many times where it’s hard to not spit it out and tell the stubborn dwarf king my feelings.
In the winter, in the icy outdoor pool
When you jumped in first, I went in too
I'm with you even if it makes me blue
Which takes me back
To the color that we painted your Nephews (brother's) wall
Honey, without all the exes, fights, and flaws
We wouldn't be standing here so tall
Flashback
“Y/N!!” I turn just in time to see Thorin jump in the pool, my eyes go wide as I take off his fur, “are you mad?! You’ll catch a cold!” I grin before I jump in after him, “what were you thinking?!” He gives a small shrug, “I need a laugh, with rebuilding Erebor, trying to fix things with Bard and Thranduil, as well as get everyone from the Blue Mountain here… I haven’t had much time to relax.”
I let out a laugh as I start to shiver, pull my clothes tighter to my body, “you? Relax? That’s never happened over the year I’ve known the almighty Thorin Oakenshield. You’re far too stubborn and pig headed to do that. You like things done in a-“ I get cut off with the feeling of something pressed to my lips, but it’s quickly pulled away and thorin is grinning ear to ear. “You’re far too blue for my liking right now, let’s get you warmed up, can’t have my favorite lady getting a cold now.”
From that day, he’s been infesting my thoughts, my dreams, that idiot has taken up every waking moment. The only things that’s changed since then, is the courting bead secretly braided in both our hair, no one knows besides Balin, but it’s been easier now that it’s getting closer to winter and I wear my hood everyday.
“And what is my queen doing out here?” I grin hearing that familiar deep voice from behind me, I turn after checking before throwing my arms around Thorin, his arms finding their spot around my waist as he picks me up, “hiding from your nephews who asked me a very strange question today….” He pulls away quickly, setting me down as he looks at me, “I… what was it?”
“If I’d ever marry you… said it was for a bet between themselves and Nori and Bofur…” I smile, leaning up to press a kiss to his cheek before I pull away completely, “but, I do have to go help Bombur with supper, so I’ll see you tonight, my King.” I take off just before he could stop me, knowing he’d have a talk with me about that later.
*Time Skip*
Soon it’s time for bed, everyone makes their way to their own rooms, I’m taking my own sweet time since I’ve moved most of my belongings to Thorin’s, as I’ve been staying there every night. Once everyone has gone to bed I finally make it to his room, slipping in quietly. I turn closing the door and look at Thorin, who was already sitting at the foot of his bed, I hold up a hand to stop him from talking, “let me say something first, please.” He gives me a nod and watched me as I take a deep breathe.
“I like shiny things, but I'd marry you with paper rings. and I hate accidents except when we went from friends to this Darling, you're the one I want In paper rings, in picture frames, in dirty dreams Oh, you're the one I want. I want to drive away with you. I want your complications too, I want your dreary Mondays.” I watch him as I talk, making sure to gauge his reaction, “I want everything that you have to offer me, Amrâlimê. I want to be your queen, but I don’t need shiny things.”
Before I could even react, he is off the bed and pulling me into his arms, crashing his lips into mine, “I love you, my Arkenstone…” his whispers against my lips, “my gem I wish to never get rid of… I will make you a paper ring as long as you always repeat those words to me.. I love you, Y/N, Queen Under the Mountain.”
“I love you, Thorin, King Under the Mountain. Forever and always.” I whisper kissing him again softly.
“ABOUT TIME FOR MAHALS SAKE!! It took you both forever! Now to plan a wedding!” I hear Kili and Fili both yell through the door before they’re running down the hall.
“I’m going to imagine that was never said, and continue enjoying our night betrothed..” Thorin mutters as he picks me up after moving one arm under my thighs and holding me bridal style, “sounds wonderful to me, my love.”

Dreams Into Reality

Thorin X Tay
Warnings: Thorin being sweet, injured Kili
Summary: Tay lets Thorin in on her feelings and more about her world.
Masterlist
We reached Bard's house, much to the dwarves' complaints about having to swim in the water and appear in Bard's home through his toilet, but we were protected from the people of Lake Town, or more so, their 'king.' I could feel Thorin's diamond-like eyes on me the whole trip, almost as if he was scared I would vanish again, at least that's what I kept telling myself he was thinking, that, or my mind went dark and he was probably hoping I would disappear again.
"I don't think I'll be able to eat fish the rest of my life," I hear Ori say as we get dried off and comfortable, I let out a small laugh, shaking my head as I pat his back gently, "I think you'll be able to, Ori, maybe in a few weeks time, but you will," I spoke softly before feeling a hand on my shoulder, I turn seeing Bards youngest daughter behind me holding up a pair of clothes, "oh, thank you, sweet girl," I give her a small smile, "they belonged to my mother, da thinks they should fit you." I take the clothes gently, "thank you, Tilda," I nod softly, before finding somewhere to change privately. I stand in front of a mirror, glancing at my form, my pale eyes, and the scars lining my arms as I pull the shirt off my body, "could one look any more broken and torn down?" the question formed on my lips, before I pull the new clothes on, running my fingers through my hair, braiding pieces so they're out of my face.
Just as I was walking back I hear voices around the corner, "No, we are not together!" 'Thorin' I thought to myself as I press myself against the wall, my head telling me that I shouldn't be listening, but my interest was peaked now, and my heart really wanted to know, "at least... not yet." "What do you mean not yet? It seems to me that you two are together," 'Bard' I thought, "I must have read you both wrong, I do apologize about that," 'He definitely didn't, at least from my side..'
"Kili Durin, if I have to strap you down to the table so you'll rest, we will have problems. Lay down and stop moving. I need to check the wound," I speak softly, trying my hardest to forget the conversation I had listened to, moving to tend to Kili as well as possible, trying to get him comfortable while randomly glancing back to Thorin and Bard, my mind going back to his words. "When did you get back?" Kili speaks up from above me as I tend to his knee, "Tay?" I glance up at him quickly, "hmm?" "I asked when you got back..." His voice hinting at joking behind it, and I look back down at his knee. "Tay?" I shake my head gently before sitting by him, "I got back shortly after Legolas and Tauriel took you guys in... Bilbo found me shortly after. Thankfully all the spiders were gone, and I didn't have to deal with them... I wouldn't have made it back if they were alive."
"I like to think you would have, those spiders ain't got nothing compared to ya, you're a warrior, and ya know that, Lass," I look up at Dwalin as he speaks. "Ya know how to hold yourself, and we've each seen it for ourselves; that and the fact ya smacked Thorin across the face shows you're a warrior."
"Nice try, Dwalin... But we all know the only reason I smacked Thorin was due to the adrenaline from fighting the Trolls, and he was quite pissing me off at that moment..." I let out a small laugh until Dwalin shook his head and give me a small smile, "nice try, little bird, but we know you're a warrior..." he said, "no one is that brave to smack Thorin, not even myself Lass.. therefore, ya are brave," "aye lass!" I turn to look at Bofur, before rolling my eyes, "You're all quite stupid, I have yet to fight anything, you all took care of the trolls, I just let the ponies free. I'm not a warrior..." I look up at Fili who just shakes his head, a soft smile playing on his face as he nods to look behind me. I turn and see Thorin. His head moved, gesturing towards a different room; after making checking that Kili was okay, I stand and move towards the room, taking a deep breath before walking into where Thorin was.
"Thorin," I started as I moved further into the room, he moves and closes the door before turning to face me, holding his hand up causing me to stop speaking.
"Let me speak first, please..." he started, "I'm sorry about what happened the last time we talked. I shouldn't have tried to force you-"
"Force me?" I questioned, I started to pace slightly, keeping my feet moving, "No, Thorin, you weren't forcing me; you weren't doing anything wrong. I was scared of the possibility of leaving you, terrified that you'd get sick of me one day... But I shouldn't have been scared. Well, that will always plague me, Thorin, I'll always be scared you'll soon find me annoying, find the things that I do annoying... or you find me annoying as everyone else has.." I speak quietly, looking at my hands, fiddling with my thumbs, chewing at my cheek gently until I taste metallic in my mouth. "Thorin, I.. I think I love you.” my voice carried through the room as I continued looking at my hands.
"You think?" I glare at him, my brows furrowed as I finally just shake my head, "I... Tay you deserve better than me," his words caused my heart to crack, the pain causing me to look away from the dwarf, "that's what you don't get," I whisper, picking at a hang nail on my thumb, "I don't care if I deserve better, because I want you." I hear his breathing get heavier, "you may think that I deserve better but to me, there is nothing better than you." I could hear him getting closer so I backed up with each step he took until he finally just stopped walking. "I think... I think in a way I've always been in love with you. Since seeing Gandalf pulling you from behind him, to you disappearing from my sight and having you come back to me." I feel a smile grow on my face and play with the sleeves on my shirt, until he stops me, pulling them up, his eyes glazed with water.
“What... What happened when you returned to your world?” my eyes shot to where he was looking, I shook my head gently, giving him a soft smile as I pulled my arm away from him, “Nothing important Thorin...” I speak softly, moving to go towards the door. "Tay... Please, I need to know." I stop walking and look at the ground, chewing at my cheek and thinking about how to respond, before turning back to face him, glancing up at him through the hair that had fallen over my eyes.
"It was like I wasn't even gone, Thorin, like, no one knew I had disappeared. It... It makes me that that it's easier for people when I'm not around. It hurt to realize that no matter what happens to me, people will go on living like I wasn't there, to begin with. I love that man from my world, more than words can explain, but it... it's tearing apart my soul when he acts like I'm not even there, he hardly holds me, never kisses me, and if I try to kiss him, he acts like I taking time from his day for it. I... Mahal, I need to stop talking... Nothing happened while on my earth while I was there."
"Please talk about it, if you let this hurt you, you're letting them win. You're letting the people who are dimensions away from you hurt you, you don't have to find the perfect words, just tell me what you're feeling. I'm here to listen." I feel his hands grab mine and pull me closer, I look up at him, my eyes searching his sapphire ones, trying to decide on what to tell him. "Why do you want to know, Thorin? About my earth?" "Because your earth causes you pain, I wish to know how I can help you while you live here. You don't have to carry it all, you know. Humans aren't made to be solidarity creatures. I want to help." It was different, hearing Thorin speak like this, the only time I had heard him like this, was at the end of Battle of the Five Armies, and I refuse to watch the end of that.
Pulling my hands from his, I move to play with the bracelet on his wrist, "I don't wish to speak of my world, please? It just makes me hurt, thinking that despite my missing, they don't have a clue, they don't know I'm gone. But at the same time, I guess... I guess I'm relieved?" I ask more as a question, questioning even myself as I talk, before I feel my head shaking, moving my hands to his again, "I belong with you, Thorin. I belong in Middle Earth with everyone, Bilbo, Bofur, Dwalin... I belong here."
I look at our hands as I feel his thumbs run across my knuckles, before I look back up, seeing the wheels turning in his head before he removes his hands from mine before I feel his lips crush into mine with a force, causing my hands to grip his shirt, his hands moving up my shirt, palms pressed flat against my back holding me close, the warmth of his hands on my skin causing my body to heat up. I feel the tears streaking down my face as I finally kiss him back, holding him close against me until he pulls away, his hands moving to my face, gently wiping the tears away, I keep my eyes closed, in fear that this is all a dream and I was back on my earth. "Please, please never leave me again," his voice is just above a whisper, finally opening my eyes I meet his oceanic ones, "Please never leave me again, I thought I had lost you for good, and I... I can't go through that pain again. I couldn't bear it. I truly... I care for you"
I sit in silence, looking up at him as tears fill my eyes, trying to find the words to say but my mind is still on that kiss, it wasn't anything like the first one, this one, I could feel everything that Thorin felt, I felt his love, his pain, I felt it all.
"Tay... say something, please," His voice broke me out of my thoughts and I blinked quickly before crashing my lips back against his, eyes fluttering closed once more as I kiss him again, standing on my toes, I wrap my arms around his neck, holding him close. After a bit, I break away from the kiss, sighing softly, "You're stuck with me, Thorin, I don't plan on leaving. You deserve to know... it's you. It's always been you Thorin."
"You have to stop doing that."
My brows furrow as I look up at Thorin, "I... Doing what?" I question the king in front of me, watching his eyes as they gleam with happiness.
"Saying things that make me wish to kiss you more, Amrâlimê."
