Protection Oil
I recently started up my practice again and the first thing I made was a protection candle and some oils. I haven't shared any witchy things in a while so here is how I make protection oil.
You can use any oil, I prefer to use olive oil. I also put red pepper and a rose thorn in there because I like them. I would also have added egg shell powder but I didn't have any. You can tailor this to what ever you have one hand. The world is your oyster do whatever the fuck you want. You can wear this oil, lock mirrors, windows, add to spells, ect... Personally I like to put it on before I do spell work. Stay protected witches !
Olive Oil
Salt - purification, cleansing
Sage - protection, hex breaking
Red pepper - warding, spell amplification
Parsley - protection, purification
Thyme - protection
Black salt - protection, dispel's negative energy
Rose thorn - repellent for negative energy, baneful protection
Tigers' eye - protection
A petition with intentions
Edit :
I forgot to add this the first time.
Do not put fresh herbs or shit that has water in it into your carrier oil. It can create botulism. Make sure everything you add is dried.

Tarot Spread: Finding the right career
This week's spread is the one I used recently in my pick a card reading. I'm sharing it here for all to use. As always, you're free to use it however you want, just don't repost as your own.
What is this spread for?
This tarot spread is meant for people who are wondering about what path to take, or those wishing to make a change. We'll look at your strengths, weaknesses and motivations and the potential for growth.
As always, pay attention to all the cards in order to inform you on the final answer as they are meant to provide a complete picture.
Full breakdown of the spread
Your strengths - here are your personal strong points when it comes to your career. It can be related to your personality or your natural talents
Your weaknesses - on the contrary here is what you're naturally not the best at, which might indicate a dislike or a difficulty to overcome
What motivates you - here we'll look at what drives you in life, which goes beyond simply what you likes to do but what actually lights the fire of your passion
What skills can you develop - this card shines light on skills that are available for you to develop so that you can rise to the potential
What is the potential for growth - this is the potential success placement, and will tell you the future expansion you might be able to achieve here
How will you know it is right for you - here we'll look at the cues that will be able to tell you you're making the right choice, and the process you'll go through to get there
What career would be best for you - in addition to all previous cards, this should give you a good idea of the type of career your could thrive in. Pay attention to the characteristics of the card drawn. The astrological correspondence or traditional job associations could be of help as well, but don't shy away from freely generating creative ideas as there is no set association of modern jobs to the cards.

For my fellow fibre arts witches, if you're starting to get the Annual Cold Weather Fidget, that driving urge to reach for hooks and needles and that big bin of spools and fabric lurking in your closet....
If you feel like Doing A Witchcraft, you can work some witchy into whatever you're making. Weaving, crocheting, knitting, nalbinding, stitching, embroidery, and knotwork can all carry magic and serve as a vehicle for creating spells, sigils, talismans, or enchanted wearables.
Am I saying you can put a spell into that pair of socks you're knitting? That scarf you've been working on? That pile of granny squares waiting to become a blanket? That cross-stitch piece you've been meaning to finish?
ABSOLUTELY.

There are even books on knot magic, witchy crochet and knitting patterns, and beautifully spooky cross-stitch and embroidery pieces. (And lots more downloadable patterns exist on etsy and fibre arts forums!) Perfect for chilling with your favorite hot beverage and current binge-watch while you keep your hands from getting bored.
Go forth and have fun with it!

Elder Futhark runes and Meaning (notes)

Here’s the notes I’ve made on the Elder Futhark after studying and researching them online.
Note that many sources have differing interpretations of some of the more vague runes. Peorth or Pertho — ᛈ — is one of these runes that are far from clear as to their meaning. This list is just what I have gathered so far from multiple sources and compiling it into something that I feel makes sense.
Alphabetical - Rune - Name - Meaning - Description A — ᚨ — Ansuz — God, Odin — God, Wisdom, Words, Speech B — ᛒ — Berkano — Birch — Fertility, Birth C — ᚲ — Kaunaz — Fire, Torch — Beacon, Illumination, Understanding, Knowledge D — ᛞ — Dagaz — Day, Dawn — Awakening, New Beginning, Ambition E — ᛖ — Ehwaz — Horse — Loyalty, Movement F — ᚠ — Fehu — Cattle, Frey — Cattle, Wealth G — ᚷ — Gebo — Gift — Generosity, Sacrifice H — ᚺ — Hagalaz — Hail — Wrath of Nature, Crisis I — ᛁ — Isaz — Ice — Stagnation J — ᛃ — Jera — Year — Good Harvest, Season, Earth K — ᚲ — Kaunaz — Fire — “’ L — ᛚ — Laguz — Water — Emotions, Dreams, Imagination M — ᛗ — Mannaz — Man — Mankind, Human N — ᚾ — Nauthiz — Necessity — Need, Desire NG — ᛜ — Ingwaz — Ing, Earth God, Old name of Freyr — Harmony, Balance, Potential O — ᛟ — Othala — Ancestry — Property P — ᛈ — Peorth/Pertho — Hearth? — Chance, Dice, Destiny Q — ᚲ — Kaunaz — Fire — ”’ R — ᚱ — Raidho — Ride, Wagon, Wheel — Journey S — ᛊ / ᛋ — Sowilo — Sun — Success, Life Force T — ᛏ — Tiwaz — Tyr — Warrior, Honour, Justice, Courage TH — ᚦ — Thurisaz — Thor, Giant — Forceful Action U — ᚢ — Uruz — Oer os — Health, Physical Strength V — ᚹ — Wunjo — Joy — Pleasure W — ᚹ — Wunjo — Joy — “’ X — (ᚲ + ᛊ / ᛋ ) — Y* — ᛇ — Eihwaz — Yew Tree — Reliability, Trustworthiness Z — ᛉ — Algiz — Elk — Protection, Shield
* Eihwaz is not sufficiently correct for the letter ‘Y’ as it is more accepted as an ‘ae’ sound.
The Elder Futhark is ‘traditionally’ put in 3 parts or ‘Aetts’. The first is Freyr/Freyja’s Aett, the second is Heimdalls Aett and third is Tyr’s Aett. A handy way to remember the names of the Runes and to which Aett they belong to is to use the following:
Freyr/Freyja — Heimdall — Tyr ᚠ ᚢ ᚦ ᚨ ᚱ ᚲ ᚷ ᚹ — ᚺ ᚾ ᛁ ᛃ ᛇ ᛈ ᛉ ᛊ — ᛏ ᛒ ᛖ ᛗ ᛚ ᛜ ᛞ ᛟ futharkgw — hnijipas — tbemlingdo
f-u-th-a-r-k-g-w — h-n-i-j-ï-p-a-s — t-b-e-m-l-ing-d-o
Here we condense the three Aetts into small ‘phrases’; Futhark-gw, H-niji pas, and Tbem-ling-do. Using this aid makes it easier to recall the names of the Runes since every letter is the first letter of its corresponding Rune. For example, ‘Futhark’ makes up the first 6 runes (which is where it gets the name from). There’s F - Fehu, U - Uruz, Th - Thurisaz, A - Ansuz, R - Raidho and K - Kaunaz. Then G - Gebo and lastly W - Wunjo. Note that this technique is handy for recalling the runes, but it doesn’t always coincide with the way they’re meant to be pronounced as a single sound.

Flower Moon - May 22-23, 2024

Ready your gathering baskets and your best shoes for traipsing, witches - it’s time to greet the Flower Moon!
Flower Moon
The Flower Moon gives us the fulfillment of the first flush of the Pink Moon, with fragrant blossoms greeting us at every turn and heralding the merry month of May. The floral name for this particular cycle is shared by a number of indigenous nations, include the Algonquin, Anishnaabe, and Dakota. Other names include Budding Moon and Frog Moon (Cree), Planting Moon (Dakota and Lakota), and the Moon of Mulberry (Choctaw).
European names for this moon include Milk Moon (Anglo-Saxon) and Hare Moon (Celtic, allegedly). Some modern pagan circles also call it the Grass Moon as well, since the flourishing of grasslands is more common in some areas than the appearance of flowers.
This full moon peaks during daylight hours in the Western Hemisphere (around 9:53am EDT), so the moon may appear to be full on both the nights of the 22nd and 23rd.
What Does It Mean For Witches?
As we pass the spring rites and move toward the summer season, it’s the perfect time to celebrate your growth and the ways in which you want to flourish. This is the season for romance and love, and not just that which comes when we put on flower crowns and go a-Maying. This is a time to love ourselves as much as each other, to celebrate our bonds, and to be reminded of our own beauty and strength. Remember the things you love about yourself and consciously take a moment to remind your loved ones how much you care for them.
It is also a time to celebrate fertility, be it animal, vegetable, mineral, or spiritual. Put new plans into action, start that project you’ve been meaning to do, embark on that new hobby or activity you wanted to try. If you have a long-term goal or a big project, now is the time to outline your path to completion and plan how to direct your energy so you don’t burn out halfway through. Don’t hold back - break through the walls of imposter syndrome and anxiety, indulge in your creative urges, and let your inspiration soar. What you choose to plant and nurture now determines what you will harvest later in the year. And above all, remember to have FUN!
What Witchy Things Can We Do?
If you’ve been feeling the urge to do some flower-related magic, now is the perfect time! Familiarize yourself with the wildflowers in your area and if possible, maybe grab your basket and scissors and go on a foraging trip. Remember to properly identify flowers before picking them, don’t overharvest, and don’t take anything from private property without permission or from national parks full stop. You can press the flowers with a notebook and something flat and heavy, or you can dry them in hanging bunches, in a cardboard tray, or in a low-temp oven for later use.
This is also a good opportunity to get your hands in the dirt and connect with the land where you live. If there are plants in your care, take a little time to do some pruning and watering. Check them for spring pests and treat where needed. Give them some love - talk to them, sing to them, encourage them to grow tall and strong and abundant. Bless them as you tend their plots and reaffirm your commitment to be a good caretaker.
As an exercise, try making flower crowns, garlands, bouquets, wreaths, or centerpieces using plant correspondences, flower language, or color magic for a desired effect. This can be done with real flowers or silk ones, depending on how long you want to keep them around. Try your hand at making flower water with roses or other blooms - it makes a wonderful base for moon water!
Experiment with recipes for dishes and drinks that use edible flowers too! Whether it’s color-changing butterfly peaflower tea, sweet and peppery nasturtium, adorable pressed pansy shortbread cookies, or the tried-and-true comforts of chamomile, flowers have many tasty secrets to offer. Don’t be afraid to add botanicals to your health and beauty routine as well! (Just make sure nothing’s going to negatively interact with your meds or irritate a pre-existing condition. Safety first!)
Whether you do so with your near-and-dear, your witchy circle, or by yourself, celebrate everything that blooms - including you!
Happy Flower Moon, witches! 🌕🌼

Cleansing + Warding Room Spray
Made this today as my space has some… thing in it that I don’t like. It was also my last devotional act to Loki before parting ways.

Ingredients:
- Water
- Splash of hurricane water (warding)
- Black tea with ginger and cinnamon (expelling negativity, protection, warding, success)
- Lemon pepper (cleansing, protection, warding)
- Fresh sage (cleansing, warding)
- Peppermint essential oil (cleansing)
Combined all until boiling and let simmer until the liquid was a small enough amount to fit in my container after straining. As a bonus, the steam from this concoction can also cleanse and ward your space. I drew a sigil for home protection on a sticky note and slapped it on the side of the pot for extra oomph.

What is Warding? The How-Tos and Methods
As I stated in my post on protection. Protection is necessary in the world we live in as it is just a fact of life. It's important spiritual hygiene
Warding will keep negative entities out of your space, negative energy will be kept at bay, and block spells and psychic attacks against you/your home.
Warding is a defensive type of protection magic. You can also do baneful wards. Those are an offensive and defensive type of magical protection.
Warding can be done physically by shielding as well as done within the property and home. I never recommend just one protective ward in case one fails. However this will depend on your lifestyle and what you feel you need. If you are someone who is an online figure you'd probably want more protection. Same if you work in retail, those dirty looks from customers are like daggers.
Here are some methods
For your Space
Energy - Visualize a powerful bubble of protective light of any colour coming from the core of your being. Imagine it encasing your space and solidifying into a protective barrier around your space. Unbreakable, bendable and sold against anything hitting against it. This can take up a lot of energy. I suggest tethering this ward to a crystal tower of either quartz or selenite. Selenite is self charging and cleansing, still will need to be refreshed. You can borrow energy from energy sources to do this.
Guardians - Create a house guardian to guard your home or space from negative energies. Use a any object, enchant it with your intention, and keep it in a safe, permanent place. Feed it weekly with energy or offerings.
Jar - Create a traditional witches bottle or a intuitive bottle of your choice.
Sigils - Create a sigil to protect yourself or ward your space. When creating it to ward your space give it directions on what you'd like it to do during creation. That intent will help it do its job.
For the Self
Energetic Shielding and Energy Armor - Energy shielding and armour are very much like making protections and wards around your home, they're made with the energy you manifest within yourself or if you are someone who has low energy it can be borrowed from energy sources. You can throw them up together or just either or.
Energy Armour is created like so. Ground, center, visualize if you can or will it into being this energetic armour (can look like any sort of fictional or fantasy armour) surrounding you from head to toe. I like to give it an element, like fire to burn away any negativity coming my way. Get creative. I personally like to incorporate 4 main elements, lastly with spirit to recycle back energy to me during the day.
Energy shielding is created similarly. Instead, visualize or will into being a bubble. Can look like anything you want. This is created similarly to the armour. The difference is this is a bubble and you can expand your shield to push others away from you energetically while the armour is more skin-tight.
I suggest you bring these wards down when you no longer need them at the end of your day. They drain energy regardless of recycling. Ground and recenter after to return any borrowed energy.
Baneful wards
Baneful wards are wards that have a bit of a spicy kick to them. It can be a jar full of string, baneful herbs and sharp objects that capture any spirit or negative energies into your jar. Tangles them up so they cannot get unstuck like a spider's web, being harmed in the process of crossing you. Could be a labyrinth ward you programmed into an object, where they get stuck in this never-ending twisting turning labyrinth forever. Can be a mirror ward placed on top of your energetic ward, a reflective front to bounce back anything sent your way. That's a great way to layer wards just in case something snuck past the mirror for whatever reason.
You can also ask your ancestors/deities/spirits for aid to throw it back at their face 10 fold if you have a great relationship with them. I'd still offer them a nice offering for the help though.
The possibilities are literally endless and that's the fun part with baneful wards. Creativity is in your hands.
Can I Over Ward?
Absolutely, it's horrible. The energy feels dead, can no longer do divination and you feel trapped in life. I'd first ask your divination method of choice or spirits if you are cursed before you go tearing down any wards because that's a mistake you do not want to make.
If you over ward try taking down a single-layered ward or rework the heavy-hitting one you have currently going. Never fully take down all protections at one time as that leaves you vulnerable.
Open up your wards, banish your space of that gross stagnant energy and cleanse your space. Once you do that try inviting some good vibes back in. Try singing, dancing, listening to music, anything really to lift those vibes and get that stale energy moving again.
Blessings!
