Tumblr, I haven’t seen any good posts about my history girlfriend, so I think you should know about her so you can love her too. This sassy cutie right here is Pamela “Pixie” Colman Smith.
• She is best known for being the artist of the Rider-Waite tarot deck, the most famous and widely sold deck in the world, a job for which she got practically no credit and “very little money,” in her words (she died penniless while Waite made bundles)
• Waite, the “designer” (tarot scholar that commissioned it) was very condescending and exacting about how he wanted the major arcana done (even though she ignored him sometimes anyway; they were on a tight schedule and she’d send him fully inked and watercolored designs without his approval so they didn’t have time to redo them). But Waite turned up his nose at using the tarot for divination rather than as a spiritual guide, so he didn’t really give a shit about the minor arcana
• The designs for those are therefore p much all her, inspired by the 15th century Sola Busca deck (the only other one at that point to feature fully illustrated pip cards) which was on display at a museum near her while she was working on the project
• I’ll pause to allow you to imagine her making trip after trip to the museum with her sketchbook, studying the cards and chewing on her pencil. You in love yet? Just wait
• She was a synesthete who would listen to classical music and draw beautiful “spiritual portraits” of the music
• She was a suffragette, and drew feminist political cartoons
• She was an actress and set designer for a while; you can see the inspiration in many of the stage-like cards in her tarot deck
• She was best bros with cool people like Edith Craig, WB Yeats, and Bram Stoker
• Although she faced a lot of condescension from the men around her since they considered visual art a much less valid and sophisticated form of spiritual and intellectual pursuits, she was by all accounts very smart and wickedly funny, and ridiculously sweet and kind
• She was almost definitely super gay (had a very gay social circle, never married, lived alone with another woman for years)
• In conclusion you should all love her and we should call it the Smith deck and not the Waite, thank you and goodnight

The most useful spells for around the Holiday Season
Glamours - glamour yourself so that you can slip easily through The frantically shopping crowds or so that people feel the urge to get out of your path.
Never-Ending Energy spells - so you can shop / prepare for the holidays without having to stop for breaks.
Seeker spell - so that you always find what you’re looking for. They always have the item you need (even though it may be the last on the shelf) and you always get great deals.
Comfort spells - cast these on your shoes so you can walk around shopping centres all day without feeling like your feet are going to fall off.
Don’t bother me / don’t pester me spell - cover yourself with this beauty so that pushy salespeople just glance right over you without trying to push their product on you.
The last spot spell - cast this on your car so you can always find a convenient parking space in amongst all the holiday rush.
No jokes, these are the spells you need in the madness during the holiday season. These spells have literally allowed me to get ALL of my Christmas shopping done in two days. You’re witches - witchcraft should make your life easier so use it!

To help you bring more luck into your life
Ingredients:
a green little bag with green or golden ribbon
the wheel of fortune card from a tarot deck (I used a print of it)
mint
basil
rosemary
adventurine
a little bell
When to do it?
During a waning moon preferably
Method:
Quite simple!
Take the time to meditate to focus on your intent (bringing luck into your life), and then add all of the ingredients (cleansed if you prefer) in the bag.For each ingredient, stay focus on what you want, visualize positive things happening to you.
Once this done, knot the bag and add the bell to the ribbon before closing it.
It’s all ready!
Carry this little bag with you during the day to bring luck to your life!

2. What do I need to carve out of my life? The Ten of Rods. This is an interesting one! The man is struggling with his burden and that unicorn looks like it's throwing some major shade! Seriously though, the unicorn struggles to understand man's burden, such is the limitations of immortality - the idea that time is precious and commitments tied to it is foreign - but at least with the company of the unicorn, the possibility of companionship is there? Traditionally, this card is about burdens - work, personal goals - and I read it as a caution to maintain balance. I do have a tendency to throw myself into things head first and try to change everything rather than one thing at a time. Responsibilities are important to me but my mental health is more so. Essentially - define the goals worth working hard on but don't burn out, maintain a balance. Don't take on more than you can handle, respect your limits.

1. Do a general one card reading with your first/oldest deck. I've had this deck for about ten years (!) when I first started getting interested in Tarot. It's the Unicorn Tarot by Suzanne Star and Liz Hilton. Got admit the illustrations aren't my thing but some of them are quite lovely. Anyway, onto the reading. Hmm, Ace of Cups. The artwork to me recalls the ending of The Last Unicorn when all unicorns find the courage to leave their prison. It's incredibly emotional. There is a great flood of positivity but it leaves loss and regret in its wake. The cup is overflowing with emotion, there are some clouds but mainly rays of light, in relation to myself this is actually a very relevant card to pull. Without divulging too much, I've been struggling emotionally lately and this card indicates that it's better to focus on a positive direction moving forward and with effort, it will be resolved if I allow people to support me (something I super struggle with) and not focus on regretting stuff I could have/should have/would have done. Health wise, I should be feeling better (actually did just get over a cold...) and plans to incorporate more yoga into my routine seems to have a big thumbs up. :D

Here’s the October Daily Draw, just in time!
Please be kind about the typo on #14 I didn’t notice it :(
The main thing to notice: The tag has changed, it is now going to be #7oSDailyDraw - That way it’s not just Tarot. The challenges have been for any kind of divination that the questions would work well with from the start, so I feel that this is better!
I have added in some more interactive questions on this challenge, just to try them out. If you don’t wish to participate in those, just consider those days to be rest days for you!
As always, remember: -Use any form of divination that you feel works best for you. -Feel free to dig deeper on some questions. Ask more questions, such as “why should I do this” or “how can I do this” if you have the time! -Feel free to make spreads based around any question. This list is just a guide for you! -If any question makes you feel uncomfortable for any reason, you are more than welcome to skip that day.
And if you have any questions, please send them to my ask box! I’ll reply asap. Paging divinerchallenges

Another piece for Daily Crypto Drawings!  “The Scandinavian Skogsrå (roughly, “Lady of the Forest”) is a folkloric creature that presides over the woods. A protector of wild animals, she can also extend her generosity to mankind - making sure the shots from their weapons never miss and waking them when there are fires. However, she is most known for her fondness in leading men astray and to their doom. From the front, she has the appearance of a beautiful woman but from the back she is as hollow as an old tree trunk.”
