Little Owl is moving! We’ve been looking to move to Maine for a while and after some very sweet “strangers” helping us and a few hiccups smoothed out, we have a place to land! So, it’s official, we are moving at the end of the month! • It’s very exciting! And I’m in the midst of trying to pack accordingly. I’ve got a toddler who has hit terrible twos at 17 mos (well, really it started a couple months ago, but it is in solid motion now) and woke us up at 5:30, on top of screaming/tantruming all night while refusing to let me move and kicking/squirming all around the bed. So today has started off rough... • But I have to say, I’m in LOVE with this new unisex/men’s tee, it makes me smile every time I see it! Storm rolled in while the neighborhood gathered down the street on the rocks at the waters edge. The man in the white shirt (bending, front + center) is our neighbor across the street. He dives for lobsters and invited everyone to a potluck. We arrived to a dozen heads bobbing merrily in the darkened water, happy to cool off, with another couple dozen scattered along the rocks, chatting and eating and drinking happily. A giant lobster pot boiling on a shouldering log, a pile of cooked crustacean piled on the rocks for any and all who wanted them, topped off with watermelon, Mexican corn salad and salty skin. Dogs snagging scraps. Skies darkened more. Lightening flashing in steady increments in the distance. And when the breeze kicked up, ushering in the inevitable and looming rain, everyone rapidly (and still happily) packed up and headed back uphill. This is what we love about our little village, but even more so of our neighbors and hood. Life in flux... • Spent the morning with a group of like-minded mamas and their kinder. • Spent the afternoon outside with the dogs and Lumi, running around, digging in buckets of dirt, throwing the ball for the dogs and having meltdowns over only she knows what. • Finding this space to be especially strange lately.
