what do you do when you leave soceity for noble righteous reasons and strike out on your own... only to find out that your best friend got married, had a son, and then was tragically killed by the guy that you left society to stand up for, all in less than two years? that you were at each others' sides your whole lives but because you left in such a scandalous way, you can't even go to his funeral - if you even find out at about it in time? might things have gone differently if you'd been there? could you have saved him? how do you even begin to mourn him? and do you have any right to try and talk to his son?

on a happier note, I think she WOULD talk to him because she knows no one else at Koi Tower would have told him any cool and/or deeply embarrassing stories about Zixuan and you know she absolutely has to remedy that. Cool Auntie Mianmian to the rescue!

so this whole thing came about because I looked back at this post, and happened to watch an episode of Ted Lasso on the same day, and my brain was like ...hey, Hannah Waddingham would make a great Samara body reference, you should think about that a whole lot. and then I did! I found an actress/celebrity for each of these ladies that I felt would be a good fit for both body type and style and uhhhhh got very carried away, but had a very good time with it :) if you're interested in who I picked, I've listed them under the cut!

Samara as Hannah Waddingham - she's a statuesque older woman with fantastic tits and an amazing figure that she's very comfortable showing off, perfect for Samara IMO

Ashley as Michelle Rodriguez - an actress most well known for action roles, so she's very fit and well-built, but also very comfortable with leaning into femininity when she wants, which I think is a balance we get with Ash

Miranda as Hayley Atwell - gonna be honest, she was a no brainer for me. she has that very idealised "curvy" figure and can be both glamorous and highly practical, and whilst I'm not sure anyone quite meets Miranda's wild barbie doll proportions, Hayley gets fairly close

Tali as Ileana D'Cruz - I spent a long time umming and ahhing over who I wanted for Tali and I'm not sure Ileana is quite right, but she definitely has the small narrow upper body + wider lower body look I wanted

Jack as Kristen Stewart - another no brainer, I wanted a look that said "cool" and "androgynous" and "idgaf what you think" and also "I'm very gay and intimidating" so obviously... Kristen

Liara as Nicola Coughlan - she's glamorous! she's a young fresh face on the scene that should not be underestimated! she's got perfect breasts! to me she fits Liara to a T, and you can fucking fight me on that

Kasumi as Awkwafina - this one I wasn't entirely sure on, I was struggling to think of someone who I felt really fit Kasumi, but I thought this look worked pretty well, so I went with that

Shepard as Katy O'Brian - she's hot, she's queer, and she's buff as fuck. 'nuff said.

@eleanorfenyx and I were discussing the amazing trope in modern AUs where whatever spiritual swords are translated into - cars, animals, bikes, etc - Baxia is ALWAYS just the biggest, most intimidating possible version of that available. as is her right.

but we were thinking, Baxia is a saber spirit powered by pure rage, right? and when it comes to dogs, who's more angry, a big ol' dog like a Mastiff or a Newfoundland or a Leonberger? or... a chihuahua? and thus Baxi-huahua The Unrelenting was born :)
