Don’t look away, don’t avert your gaze from the horrors unfolding. That was Mary’s rule, but if there was something Seles was good at, it was following the letter of the law without adhering to the actual spirit of it. Mary hadn’t said she couldn’t cover her ears, so she did just that, fixing her gaze very firmly on the uppermost corner of the television screen. Two hundred and twenty four people sitting in this room, watching this screen. Two hundred and twenty four pawns in Mary’s games, forced to listen and watch as she passed her cruel judgement.
In her peripheral vision she was dimly aware of shapes moving on the screen, and covering her ears did little to actually muffle the sounds, but it helped a little. She focused her mind elsewhere, not allowing herself to dwell on what was happening. Around her, the crowd was restless. Of course they were, forced to witness this spectacle or risk Mary's judgement falling on them instead.
The false Adachi’s cry drew her eyes downward on the screen for one moment, just a moment, but she quickly flicked them back up to that steadily shining number. She’d seen enough to know she didn’t want to look too closely. A frown slowly creased her features as she thought about that poor, innocent imitation, forcibly involved in ‘his own’ murder.
When Mary finally gave them the all clear, she remained in her seat for a moment. Was it safe to sleep now? She couldn’t remember if Mary had said anything about capturing that heartless creature that had kept everyone on edge. People were drifting out of the room, and eventually she followed, taking note of the new displays in the gallery. What a strange, twisted mind Mary had, if she thought this was friendship. Keeping everyone here against their will, separating them from those whom they held dear, and slowly, slowly whittling away at any fragments of morale they might have managed to maintain. If she had wanted the trust of the people she had brought here, she had chosen the wrong way to approach the issue, driving everyone away from her instead.

Below the surface everyone is pretty complicated. Based on your answers, we think the following three traits are important strands in your personality:
Tumblr media
TENDERNESS
You are not afraid of the sufferings and sorrows of other people, even when they are acted out in unappealing ways. Beneath even defensiveness and self-righteous behavior, you know that deep down people need nurturing and consolation. One danger is being naive about people’s dark sides. But at your best you know you can be mean yourself, which helps you to sympathize. You bring strength and forgiveness where other people might panic.
Tumblr media
REVERENCE
One part of you dreams of giving yourself up – perhaps just for a while – to a hero or mentor. In the right circumstances you can flourish by letting go of your ego. In your inner life, reverence plays out as a willing submission to your own conscience. In the outside world, you might get frustrated searching for something worth believing in – a country, a person, a company – but you will always be open to feeling respect, admiration and wonder.
Tumblr media
SENSITIVITY
You have delicate, sensitive perceptions; you can be deeply moved by appearances – the right light in a room, or good food, or the texture of a piece of clothing. Expressive, intelligent language has a powerful hold on you; your mind works better when it is inspired and provoked by vivid imagery. It can be sad to live in a world which is often so ugly and not properly looked after. But you know that things can be otherwise, and you have the ability to appreciate the world at its best.

She was willing to help, and would probably need to be the one to locate the book again anyway, so she headed down toward the library. On her way, she stopped by the meeting room, but the door was still blocked by a mannequin. She detoured instead to Ann’s store and purchased a small pack of colored paper, leaving money by the ever vigilant doll and nodding politely to the resident mannequin. If they were making artificial souls, each statue would need a different one, because no two roses she had seen were the same.
[S.Wilder:] I am here in the library now.
One of the statues was in here still, but it had been one of the more aggressive ones. If they were testing this theory, she wondered if they should gift a rose first to a more friendly mannequin.  While she waited for the other person, she went to the shelf to find the book she’d seen about paper art. She had been wanted to try folding some of the shapes in there anyway.
She wasn’t sure about her theory, but she hadn’t heard anyone say otherwise yet. So when someone replied to her messages, she took a moment to think about it. Paper roses aren’t convincing, obviously. But the mannequins were fake humans, so it seemed fitting to give them fake souls. [piirouette:] We could give it a try at least? [piirouette:] Meet me there if you’re willing to help

They were dolls, larger than most, but still fabricated beings. It had been undeniably proven that their roses were linked to their lives, a physical representation of their essence, their soul given form. How could they give these statues a soul? Would a faux substitute satisfy them?
[S.Wilder] Does the shop even sell roses?
She had found a small rose hairpin there to give the little blue doll in her room a while back, but she hadn’t looked for anything larger.
[S.Wilder] I think I saw a book in the library that tells how to make paper roses, but I’m not sure that would work.
She hoped the stranger wasn’t suggesting that people attempt to give the statues their own roses. That sounded foolhardy at best and dangerously risky.
[piirouette:] If those strange statues already like, have clothes. [piirouette:] Do you think what they are looking for is roses?

Seles stumbled blindly from the courtroom, numb to the sounds of people around her. She was in shock, completely disoriented after watching that display Mary called ‘justice.’ True justice would not have been so cruel, would it? Her mind refused to focus, the screaming still echoing in her ears. She barely registered the newest exhibits to the gallery, staggering past in search of…something, someone. It wasn’t here, there was nothing safe here. Nothing secure. She slumped into a corner and curled her knees to her chest, burying her head on her arms.

She was sick to her stomach, her eyes closed and her head down as she let the words wash over her in a meaningless cascade. She didn’t want to hear them, didn’t want to be here listening to this new game. Someone was dead, and they were all just sitting here talking. She could see the reasoning behind the need for punishment, but it still was too much for her to really cope with. Her fingers curled tighter into her sleeves as the voices grew louder, more sure. The accusations carried more weight and the crowd seemed convinced. They were casting their votes now, taking someone’s life into their own hands for the sake of a game, playing at justice. Mary’s punishment would surely be no less cruel than last time.
She wasn’t playing. Her eyes remained closed, her head remained down.

CURRENT TIME – 9:45pm ; LOCATION – Hotel-Gallery Hallway
With heavy hearts does the third group watch their friends depart, observing within mindless chatter as one group, then two breaks apart into separate paths, hopes high that all would return safe (and hopefully without a CORPSE in tow.)  Faces both familiar and unfamiliar disappear and clump together, now relying on one another for one solid goal. What a strange form of unity this had turned out to be. ( to think all it took for unrelenting support was a LITTLE GIRL’S GAME.)
No one’s too sure of the time as the hallway grows silent, most if not all of the babble prior having quieted into anxious tension(?) as they wait. WHO would be the leader? WHO would guide them? And just WHERE would they end up? Mary had claimed after all the gallery’s dangers, how bizarre, how different it could be depending where they turned. What kind of sick game was this? Why were they all FORCED to PLAY ALONG? There seemed to be too many questions and just not enough answers to fulfill them.

Introductions were not her strong suite. She always seemed to forget that it was customary to include one’s name when speaking to someone for the first time. A brief expression of consternation flashed across her face as Raidon asked for it.
Tumblr media
“Oh, um, I’m Seles. Seles Wilder. It’s nice to meet you Raidon.” She smiled and wondered if she should offer a handshake with the introduction, but decided not to. “Twenty years apart though? Wow, that’s quite an age difference.” She wondered about the ‘at least’ clarification Raidon had included. “How did you meet one another?” she asked curiously.
She’d never been in love and wondered what it was like.
“There is only one doll in our room and it only has one bed. And uh…we aren’t exactly a physical couple at this point.” Raidon answered her as she looked towards the window. This was true, though she wouldn’t find being intimate with her lover, it wasn’t time for that. Time referring to this situation, but also the fact that truly either of them were ready for it. Raidon brushed some hair out of her face and off to the side. A smile crossed her face at the thought of her love. “He is…at least twenty years older than me and he would rather wait until I am a little older before anything happens between us.“
Tumblr media
It wasn’t the exact reason, but she wouldn’t say it out load. Raidon smiled softly. “What is your name if I am ask? My name is Raidon Uchiha.”

Between her messenger app and the snippets of conversation overheard around her, she’s gathered that a group is going into the gallery tonight. She’s been in the gallery a couple times already at night with Luke and seen that it’s not the same place every night. Just because the pair of them didn’t run into trouble doesn’t mean that there’s no trouble to be found. In fact, a larger group is probably more likely to find trouble, if only because they’ll make more noise and draw more attention. If there’s something in there at night, they’re bound to run into whatever it is.
Tumblr media
“...I’m going to sit this one out. There’s no sense in asking for trouble.” She’ll probably linger near the doorway that connects the hotel to the gallery though, and wait to see who comes back in one piece. If anything, she’s curious to hear the stories they will bring back, but not curious enough to risk her rose joining them.
