"I bought you coffee, take it." YN looked up at Sunghoon who was holding out a cup of coffee for her, the one she likes.

"Thank you," She took the cup using one hand while the other wipes her face.

The two sat in silence as they wait for the doctor to come out. YN's father was processing the hospital bills which leaves only the both of them.

Soon, footsteps were heard making the two look at the direction where it came from. Three figures came into sight: Chaewon, Sakura and Yunjin; YN's closest friends. It was Sunday which made them all free from classes.

Yunjin then pulled YN into her embrace hugging her as the two stroked her back trying to calm her down. "M-mom, I can't lose Mom." She sobbed as Yunjin tightened her arms around YN.

"Shh You won't. Aunt's strong. So be strong for her too, Alright? She needs us to be strong." Sakura consoled YN as Yunjin loosened her arms around her.

A doctor then came out of the room, "Mrs. L/N is now stable. She will be moved into a room. You can visit her afterwards. Please excuse me."

YN was the first to enter the room, followed by her friends and Sunghoon who has kept quiet ever since YN's friends came into scene.

"Ma," YN ran to the bedside. Her eyes were once again glistening with tears. "My child, Shh. I'm fine. I'm here, don't cry anymore."  Mrs. L/N said as she stroked her daughter's child.

"We'll be outside if you need us. Take your time talking." Yunjin politely said as she gestured Chaewon and Sakura to go out with her. "Thank you, Yunjin." YN's mom said as she then called out for Sunghoon, who was about to follow the three girls outside.

"Have you both agreed? Please tell me you did. I want to leave my daughter to good hands." Sunghoon bit his lips as he didn't know what to say. He was definitely willing to take care of YN but he knows their past still affects YN.

"Ma, is it really necessary? He has a girlfriend. I can find myself a lover if you want."

"I want you to end up with someone I trust, YN. Please do this for me. You can divorce afterwards—"

"Then why should we marry, Ma? It would just be a waste of money." YN cut off her mother's words.

"To ensure our company, they would be our business partners for a lifetime if you two married. Please YN, your marriage just needs to last a year and after that, you can divorce."

"Are we okay?" Sunghoon looked up from staring at the ground to Jaeyi, confusion evident on his face.

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"It's just.. we never talk or hang out anymore and it feels weird and different. It's like we're not together anymore. Like we're just strangers in a film with our characters being together but we really aren't. Don't you feel it?" Sunghoon shook his head as he tries to register her words into his mind.

"What are you conveying? Are you tired? Of us?" It was Jaeyi's turn to shook her head.

"It's not that."

"Then what? Are you saying all this because you want to break up with me and date whoever gave that letter? Is that it? Well, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for being incompetent. For not loving you enough. For giving other people a chance to belittle me just to get your attention. There, Are you happy?" Sunghoon stood up, planning to walk away but not after Jaeyi held his wrist.

"I'm sorry. That wasn't what I meant. I just wanted to bring the old us again. To fix our bond. Our relationship. I know we both got busy but it shouldn't make us become distant to one another. About that letter, I'll do my best to find whoever sent that. I'm not letting anyone to belittle you."

Sunghoon faced her again, sighing before speaking. "Okay. What do you want then?"

"This weekend, can we spend time together again? Have dates?"

"I'll text you if I'm free on those days. Is that fine for you?" She nodded, smiling as she hugged him. "Thank you Hoon, I love you."

i. ugly solution

Sunghoon paced around the living room as he waited for his parents. He got a call earlier on about a family problem and how it was urgent.

As he firmly stood on the ground, his parents came with people he didn’t expect to see in the premises of his own home.

Your parents…

Seeing them made his thoughts wonder far, overthinking on what could be the issue. It shouldn’t be anything about you right? Maybe it’s about a deal within your businesses? That certainly is, otherwise he doesn't know what to feel or think about what the other possibilities could be.

What he feared the most was for that possibility to happen again. It was the reason why he lost you, why you both broke apart and why he lost his bestfriend and so he has grown to hate it.

“Since we’re all complete, let us go and sit at the dining table. We’ll go over the topic while eating.” Mr. Park—also known as Sunghoon’s father led them all to the dining room, with the latter following last.

As everyone took their portion of food, Mr. L/N faked a cough to get attention, “So, Does Sunghoon know or should we tell him first?”

“Right. Sunghoon, since a few years back we promised you and YN will get married—when you both told us you are dating, we have decided to at least plan it this year.”

Sunghoon choked at the words coming out of his mother’s mouth. No no no. This shouldn’t be happening! Not again. “YN didn’t agree did she?” Your mother chuckled at what came out of his mouth, shaking her head.

“No, We haven’t told her yet. You’re the first to know between you two since we thought that because you have a girlfriend, we should consult you first. I know that it sounds weird and is nearly harmful to your relationship with your girl but I can assure you that it won't last for long and that we won't force you two to do anything you don't want to."

“Well, I would need time to answer as well as to hear YN's answer. I don’t want to give you all false hope as I can’t assure that a marriage between us would be possible.”

“It’s fine, but we all would be delighted if you both agreed. It’ll strengthen our businesses and family ties. But it is still dependent on your decisions so take your time and don’t let our opinions influence your decision.”

It's ironic how the cafe you are in right now is playing SMILEY because it contradicts the energy surrounding you and Sunghoon.

You are both sat by the window with coffee of your choices in front of you. The silence is uncomfortable and the tension is thicker than a slice of a pizza.

"So, what is so important that we have to go over it in person?" Sunghoon bit his lower lip at your tone, hearing the emphasis you added to the second so.

"I'll be frank, I met both of our parents earlier. They told me about our marriage." Sunghoon and the workers should be thankful over the fact that you haven't had a sip of your drink or the former as well as the table would have been soaking.

"What?! We're not even dating!" Your brows furrowed as your eyes displayed disbelief with creases forming on your forehead.

"But we used to." Sunghoon muttered quietly. "Yeah! Except that was when we were young and dumb. Besides, it wasn't even true!"

"And if we're given a chance to make it true now, would you take it? Would you let me back in your life—like how I was in it before, or maybe more than what I was accustomed to be?" His tone was quiet but nervous.

"No. You have a girlfriend. I don't want to you to lose and hurt someone you hold close to your heart and I certainly don't want to be the reason someone gets hurt."

"We can try to be friends? Besides they are just testing the waters, asking us for our decision so they could plan it beforehand. We can say no after giving our friendship a chance. I really missed you." He reached out for your hand that was resting on the table, fingers moving to slowly intertwine with yours.

You pulled your hand from the warmth of his own. You sigh, "I'm sorry Sunghoon, but it's a no. You broke me, I broke me. I can't be your friend, at least not now."

"But why? we used to be each other's escape, the shoulder we lean on to and the embrace that engulfs one another as to comfort us. Why can't we bring that back? Why do we have to be a stranger to one another when we used to be more than that before? I just can't understand."

"Of course you won't! How can you understand when you never tried to put yourself in my shoes?! How would you know when you never saw how I felt for you? How? Just how Sunghoon."

"W—what?" Sunghoon's voice wavered as he looked up from the table that once had both of your hands intertwined laying there, eyes having a sheer layer of tears building up.

"I'm sorry. I have to leave."

Sunghoon didn't have the guts to follow you after that. Despite wanting to have you in his embrace as he rubs his hand on your back to calm you down, he just can't. Not when he realizes that he has hurted you more than he has known.

iv. no one makes yn cry, not on our watch!

Coming home at 7 pm with blood shot eyes had your roommates in a panic, bombarding you with questions as they laid eyes on your state.

Being your friends for years and knowing your history in love, seeing that you cried for the only time this year gave them a lot of worry.

They tried hard to protect you from heartbreaks so you all won't have to endure your painful days of sobbing over a failed love life yet here they are witnessing the person—they care for a lot—have her walls broken.

If there's one thing they've learned from days to weeks of consoling you—that is to never let anyone make your eyes well up with tears of sadness. They even vowed to haunt that person and there's no wonder that Yunjin and Giselle would be calling your other friends, sharing the upsetting news as Karina rubbed your back to comfort you.

i. confession for ms. suh jae-yi "Hello everyone! Welcome to our radio show, I am YN from the literature club!" Your voice was full of enthusiasm, everyone listening could hear your smile as you spoke. "Hello I am Park Sunghoon, a business major at your way!" Sunghoon winked even though you are only heard through the speakers of the school. He wasn't like that before but now he is very flirtatious, People really do change. "Hold up, You are a business major?! Bro same!" Jay raised his hand at your back as he high-fived with Sunghoon, a smile creeping up to his face at the new information. "Anyway, Welcome to our show everyone! I am Park Jay." "Well? What are we waiting for, Let's get this started with!" You excitedly said as you took an envelope from the box. "Oh! Whoever is named Jae-Yi or knows someone with the name, Listen up!" Sunghoon lifted his head as he gazed at the envelope, wondering if it is for his girlfriend. "I'll read it!" Jay took the envelope as he fixed the mic.

Dear Suh Jae-Yi

Hi Jae-Yi, I just want you to know that you are enough.

You doubt yourself and it pains me to know that it's all because of that boyfriend of yours but I tell you what, I can be better than him despite my gender.

I know you love him, I can see it—everyone can, yet you're still blind. Blind by how he's been there for you during the times no one was so you stay with him despite his red flags.

You're oblivious to the fact that he doesn't even love you the same way you love him. No matter how many times we say it, you don't care.

You don't care because you love the thought of him when he was there by your side caring for you when no one else did. How I wish it was me that you love instead.

"Oh? Uh yeah, that dude is a real red flag."

"Oh well, let's go forward to another letter. Sunghoon how about you read this one?" Sunghoon just nodded as he reached out for the letter you gave.

If the letter Jay read was a slap to Sunghoon, this one was definitely a punch. He didn't relate to it but it made him insecure and guilty, for being the opposite of what the letter has said.

It wasn't for him, he knows that. Not even his girlfriend would make him a letter like that—because knowing himself, he is no way near the boyfriend in the letter, not even one bit.

ii. 30 minutes ended too fast.

"And that's a wrap to the 30 minutes of Letters by you being read by us!"

"Make sure to tune in tomorrow to find your letters or letters for you with us!"

"It has been a great 30 minutes, we'll be back tomorrow!"

The three of you said your seperate goodbyes as the episode one of Letters By You : Found With Us has ended. The 30 minutes has went by fast but it was definitely a happy and memorable moment.

As Giselle gave thumbs up—signaling that you three are now free to leave the booth, you get up as the two faced each other to talk more.

The pile of letters catches your eyes as you took it in you to put them in a seperate box. Chatters from the two boys was cut short as Sunghoon's phone lit up, emitting the sound of a call as he excused himself to answer the phone.

His hand was quick to slide at the screen asking whoever called what was up. He made his way to Karina as he then told his concern, saying that it was a family problem, causing him to leave.

iii. cleaners of the day

It was just you and Jay now, Karina left a few minutes ago as she has student council meeting to attend to. Being the cleaners of the day, the whole club was now in your hands.

The deafening silence overcame the room as none of you spoke. Minding your own business until you both come across the same thing, the empty mail box.

Your hands touched as you silently fought over who's going to take it out the room. Eyes glaring at one another as you kept taking the mail box away from one another.

"I'll do it." Jay's deep voice echoed in the room as he stared at you, expecting you to let go.

"No, I'll do it. You can go and mop the floor." Jay scoffed as he let go. You knew your comebacks and how to get him really. He wasn't going to let you mop the floor as he grew up being a gentleman.

"Once you are done, just close the lights and go out. I've arranged everything anyway."

i. radio show on the go

The sky is clear, showing no sign of rain as the sun shines brightly, kissing the skin of who passes by. As much as it is a beautiful day, it frustrates you as it is the opposite of what you are feeling.

The insecurity and hurt seeping through your emotions— causing your mood to go sour. You pass by the literature club room as you see the mail box covered in pink and decorated with red hearts being filled with letters from the students.

To say that you are delighted at the sight of the letters was an understatement, but it isn't enough to lift your mood up. Despite what you are feeling, you still have responsibilities to attend to.

You could miss them with a valid excuse but your pride would cry—So now, instead of running away from what has been making you feel uneasy and insecure, you still opened the door to it.

It gave you a lot of relief when you saw the empty room of the club, going to your chair as you sipped your drink. Your gaze fell at the broadcasting booth where you three will do your radio show.

As you get dazed at the thought of doing a show involving a big audience, you failed to hear the door opening as Karina entered. "YN, you're early. Didn't you eat breakfast?", You only shook your head to say no as you were startled by her voice.

"Oh, I brought you breakfast, thought it would be vital for today since you left early." Karina shrugged, shoulders going up as she pouted, seemingly knowing you enough to predict your actions.

"Anyway, we still have like 30 minutes? You go eat what I brought while I prepare the broadcasting booth and the letters."

Karina placed the lunch bag before she went out to take the mail box inside. Opening the door to the broadcasting booth, she then dumped the letters inside a bigger container.

ii. late again, at least better than the other late

Clock is ticking, One is nearing.

Everyone in the room was annoyed to say the least. It was the start of the radio show, yet the one who suggested it is late.

Despite the call time being at 12:40 pm, Sunghoon is still running late. As he is running late, the patience of everyone is also running—running thin as he sprints to the building.

The door finally opened revealing a panting Sunghoon, a clear evidence of how he was rushing to get there, at least he knew he is late. "I'm so sorry everyone, I encountered a problem so I was late."

Karina dismissed him taking a note in her small notebook to talk to him about it later, having no time to do so due to the time nearing the start of the show.

Sumin then pointed the booth's door, "YN and Jay are already in there, go in now. It'll start at 5 minutes sharp." Sunghoon nodded as he walked to the booth.

As Sunghoon entered, the two of you got startled. "Oh, I thought it was Karina. Well, take your seat bro." Jay gestured for the seat next to you.

Giselle was facing you three outside the booth, giving hand signs for when you three will air on radio.

i. awkward yet cute

It's another day, another meeting.

Your seating arrangement has never bothered you, not even a bit. But with the thought of your friends shipping you to one another, it became awkward to even look at Jay.

It wasn't any better for Jay. He didn't oppose the idea of you but you and him? He thinks it's not a great fit. You were this unbothered and well collected type of student. He on the other hand, Well, He's him.

At 9:37 am, It was still you and Jay in the room. It's fine, You think to yourself, But it doesn't help how Jay continues to stare at you, looking like he has zoned out. "Take a picture, it'll last longer." You told him, Boldly.

Jay was taken aback, Did you just talk to him? Yeah you did, otherwise it would be a ghost. "Oh, sorry, didn't mean to flatter you with my gaze." You rolled your eyes at him. This guy has the nerves for someone who doesn't date.

Jay thought you were cute rolling your eyes at him. You chuckled as Jay's eyes widdened, realizing he has spoke his thought out loud. "You're cute too. Especially when you blush like that." He was as red as a tomato at this point.

Soon, the other members started coming in. Giselle, Sumin and Sieun were the first to come in other than you two.

Giselle made a look as they stared at both you and Jay. Jay's reddened face gave them an idea of what could have happened. Their ship has spoke to each other, They all squealed at the thought. "Oh my gosh, did you really make Jay blush?" Sumin asked looking at you.

"Sumin, you're so silly! They're obviously together!" Giselle and Sieun scolded, laughing as they were in sync. "N-no, we're not dating. What even gives you the idea?" You scoffed.

"Oh."

Karina and Sunghoon then entered, One after the other as the three girls that were screeching earlier sat down at the sight of the club president.

Soon the meeting started with the topic being about the radio show and booths for the events.

ii. the radio show

"Okay, you three are gathered here because as we talked earlier, the radio show will occur. You three will be the hosts for the show." Karina started as you three took notes.

"So, when will we start?" Sunghoon asked, excitement evident in his expression as well at his tone due to his idea being used.

"This week, Sumin will be posting about it in our twitter. It will last for two weeks within February." You all nodded taking notes.

"Oh and the title will be Letters By You : Found With Us."

iii. night out with the losers

The sky was already engulfed by the darkness as Jay, Jaemin, Heeseung and Jake got out of the arcade. They walked to the car they brought, with the light from the moon and stars guiding them through the night.

The three whispering to one another as Jay zones out. Heeseung nudged the boy to his left, "Hey! Earth to Jay?" Jake stared at Jay and thought of something. "Did something happen with YN? You're blushing."

"Why would you think it's YN?" Jaemin asked frowning, it was a very specific guess. "Just thought about it, it's not common for him to be thinking about something and blushing about it." Jake shrugged.

"Jake's right. It does have something to do with YN. She called me cute earlier.." Jay frowned at the thought as more blood crept to his face, making him redder.

"I told you guys, They're meant to be!" Heeseung cheered, his eyes shining almost brighter than the moon—as his intuition was right. "Yeah no, I'm not going to be falling for her." Jay rolled his eyes, he wasn't ready for a relationship.

"Oh come on, You just need time to get to know her and who knows? Maybe you'll be together before you know it." Heeseung argued, "It's your fault! I said what I thought about her out loud earlier. Now she knows I find her cute when she rolls her eyes!" Jay whined, hitting Heeseung.

i. seeing him

12:47 pm. You were seen rushing out of the cafeteria, a few mutuals saying hi here and there. Running from building to building, you finally reached the building of the literature club.

Waiting for the elevator, you let out a sigh of relief when it opened. As soon as you lifted your left foot to step inside, another student went inside.

Park Sunghoon.

Of course you knew him, who wouldn't remember the person they spent years with, the person that made your heart beat faster than it should. The person that stood by your side yet left you alone at the darkest of time.

The two of you entered the elevator, with you letting him go first. Hands going up to click the floor button, bumping with each other, Sunghoon retreated his arm as he let you take the lead. Knowing you would be going to the same floor he opened his mouth to talk, "So.. literature club huh?"

You hummed, not wanting to talk. You didn't have grudges, at least you think, but you didn't want to talk to him. Maybe when the time is right. When you've already cleaned up the wound. You haven't healed completely and it wouldn't help putting salt to it.

"Why did you join?" he asked, not sensing the lack of attention from you. Maybe he did, maybe he just acted like he didn't. He wanted to hear from you. It's been years, years since you've had a word with one another. Years since he has lost you, completely.

You didn't get to answer as the elevator door opened, going out first you checked the time. 12:51 pm. You walked at a fast pace, for two reasons. mainly because you didn't want Park Sunghoon to catch up with you, and because you didn't want to be late.

ii. the meeting

Entering the room, you sat at your chair besides Jay. As you plopped down, he offered you his chips. You shook your head as no. Karina looked at her watch, "We're just waiting for Sunghoon then we'll start."

Sunghoon who was after you then opened the door, apologizing for almost being late. Karina shrugged him off, letting him get off the scolding you all would get for being late, all for being a new member.

"Alright, so next week, the foundation month will start. It'll be a busy and eventful month. We'll need to make plans now to start preparing, we'll have booths again so any suggestions will be great." Karina raised her eyebrow scanning the room, as if silently asking anyone to speak their mind.

"How about marriage booths?" Sumin gave Giselle a look of disgust, "That's boring and too common." Sieun agreed as Giselle scoffed. "Fine."

"For booths, we could have people write letters either anonymously or not, then read them during a radio show?" Sunghoon despite being new, got the interest of everyone in the room.

Karina's eyes sparkled at the idea. "That's a good one, maybe you, Yn and Jay could be the hosts of the show."
