just curious but can i ask why you don't like either of those ships? not trying to start problems, but actually wondering.

well for LM, I don’t like the aspect of Maya ‘bullying’ him, (the names, teasing, mocking) because I personally was bullied that way, and I DON’T see it as a romantic aspect - especially with how much she did. But that wasn’t what threw me of the ship at first, because it was funny when it was because it was because they were friends. but now it’s because she liked him aka the thing we trying teach kids not to do when we like someone. It was the way the fandom would take simple small things as signs that Lucas likes Maya or that Maya likes Lucas.

My main one with LM was people taking the scene from Flaws&Rileytown as a winning argument, the one where they compare what Zay said about nothing stopping Lucas and using the scene where she jumps on his back before he could throw a punch at Billy. Because the thing is, Maya was on his back, which meant if he did continue on with throwing a punch, the chances of him hurting her in the process was high because she was on his back and with what we’ve seen of Texas!Lucas the punch would be pretty powerful, which means a high swing of which he could not get with one of his FRIENDS on his back.

With RF it was mainly the fandom, especially when it is quite POSSIBLE that he is DATING SMACKLE at the point and them taking scenes and calling them ‘romantic moments. And they do what most LM shippers do and look to far into SIMPLE things. I just don’t like it when people imply that Farkle would be ‘cheating’ when he is dating someone. He is OVER Riley and Maya because to me, I saw that as more of an infatuation then actually being in love where as with Smackle - he is falling for her, Plus, as stated by Farkle, he doesn’t actually have feelings worked out so anything he might have felt two years ago was what he’s seen/researched.

“lucas, it’s not you. it’s me. it’s me, i swear. i just.. i need time apart from you,” he sighed softly, looking at the other, his eyes tired. “i love you, lucas. but sometimes, it doesn’t feel like enough. i always come home feeling lesser of myself and i want that to change. you - we don’t.. look at each other the same way like we used to.”
