It’s a moment that later Shiro will run over in his head like a home video, watch and rewind and start over, play backward piece by piece and pause on each part, because the next thing Keith says is out of order and out of context. There’s some way it fits, but it’s years before he figures it out.

“I love you,” Keith says. He sounds it out like a promise and then squeezes Shiro’s hand and repeats it, stronger: “I love you.”

@arahir’s gorgeously angsty, ultra cathartic, healing yet brutal, will probably jump u in an alley and leave you for dead, if you think you can read this without crying think again, fic. Thank you for the amazing work. I had a lot of fun making this!!! (click for higher quality)

Some mers! Because why the heck not! 

They’ve each got oceanic themes to their designs - thunderstorm at sea, sunlit kelp forest, underwater lava, vibrant coral life/sunken treasure (bc Hunk is a treasure) and tropical beach (with additional Blue Lion influences)

Designing ‘em was super fun. I stopped liking a lot of it for a while though - and really didn’t want to have to redo it all to be happy with it - so it stalled for a long time. But now it just feels a shame not to share all that work anyway. So! Here we are

I doodled a little something at like…4 am for dear @arahir! You deserve the best and yet, here I am, throwing doodles at you. One day I’ll make a proper fanart for this fic, just you wait. ;A;/

In honor of MerMay, I did a Sheith.

And okay, I have some thinky thoughts about my mer-choices:

Keith: Is part Mako shark, one of the fastest creatures in the oceans.  Without a family pod/school/unit, he’s always felt out of place, even when he was admitted into the Ocean Garrison.  A lot of the other Mers are uncomfortable around him and his more intense personality.

Enter Shiro: Part Pilot Whale (GET IT?!) and the best explorer/fighter in the Garrison.  He  sees a lot of potential in the newcomer and decide to try and talk to him.  (He resolutely does not think about how beautiful this new Mer is…!)

This is all pre-Kerberos Mission (in which we’ll say Kerberos is a very dangerous, deep, and unexplored part of the ocean).  I had originally intended to draw Shiro with his new arm and scars but decided that can be for later. So I’ll just bask in the glow of frolicking mer-boys falling in love.
