[Ultrakill Battle of Bands AU - You Love Me More Than I Do]

Hi everyone! This comic has been on the back of my head for a while now, and recently I've been feeling like shit so might as well extend this into a vent comic.

For some context, Mirage and V2 have been stuck in the Limbo layer for a while now for the battle of bands competition. No one really knows how one "moves up" to the other layers in the competition, however it's theorized that it might be based on how much "will" they have (if that makes any sense?)

Below are lyrics from a song that inspired me a lot in depicting the conflicts between Mirage and V2 for this au (also the title of this comic, lol):

Exploring V2 and Mirage's dynamic for the battle of bands au! I apologize for the shitty doodles, I hope the text is somewhat legible lol

Mirage was on the verge of quitting music making when V2 first met her. Through V2's earnest curiosity and support, Mirage starts to feel there's a new purpose for the music she makes. V2 also becomes influenced by Mirage, learning to develop her own sense of identity and find love in making music with Mirage.

If only this could have lasted forever....

Ive come down from my towner to talk about the band au once again. But this time-

✨️Headcannons ✨️

(Sponsored by me totally sleeping a full 8 hours and not just laying in my bed with my thoughts)

-V1 break dances. I have no explanation for this other then the fact that when I look into their soulless rabies infested heart I see the wanton want to pop a move

-V1 would attempt to promote V2 and their duo act as "V1". Like it's their 'band' name. This is turned against them when Mirage insist it stands for "very cool lesbian couple" and their "1 rabid [twink dog, go pro, etc...]

-Its a joke among V1 andV2 that the reason V1 is mute is because Mirage talks enough for either of them and they needed to balance it out somehow

-I think if Mirage's spark for performance was ever rekindled she would probably do vocals. This is mostly because I finally listened to "Fukouna girl" by Stomach book and all I could see was Mirage destroying it on stage with V1 and V2 in the back as instrumentals.

-V1 and V2 will duke it out kindergarten playground style if either of them get annoyed at the other

Aaah sorry I just got to this! These are such cute headcanons, I love seeing them a lot :D

Fukouna girl is a favorite song of mine, and can def see it as her vocals. When thinking about Mirage for this AU, I was thinking about Nymb in particular (this band has some great stuff that I recommend checking out -- though I'll bring up that unfortunately they've broken up a while back).

V1 and V2 would def squabble every now and then after V2 partners up with V1, whether it be about song choice, mistakes made during practice sessions, etc. But together, they make a pretty good team that helps them face up against other challenges ahead of them.

Further in their journey, I had this idea where other machines would join them to make up for the other roles in their band (i.e., Gutterman on drums would be pretty neat imo).
