Life Of Adventure

Pairing: Jack Sparrow x gn!reader

The Request:

um so maybe a jack sparrow/gender neutral reader but its not like super coupley?? like set whenever u want, and its just theyre on the same ship on an adventure?

For the longest time, you had worked your hardest to finally get to where you are now, and that location would be out in the middle of the calm ocean and onboard the famous Black Pearl.

You wanted to give yourself an unforgettable adventure and until you had met Jack Sparrow, you were starting to lose hope in that dream. You were a crew mate whom worked for Jack Sparrow, and he found you to be the most loyal and trusting mate onboard, so he trusted you completely with the trickiest tasks he felt that only you could handle. When it comes to adventure, you were willing to go as far as it would take you, no matter what the risks and consequences that could cross your path, making it a challenge.

It hasn’t been that long since you had agreed to follow the crew and captain of the Black Pearl, but there were times that you would flashback to what your life was like before coming along. You grew up on Tortuga and you’ve seen Jack Sparrow before, but never talked to him until one night, it was your turn to take responsibility to close the business your family worked so hard for. By family business you mean the most popular bar not far from your home in Tortuga, you hadn’t locked the doors yet and you were by yourself working on sweeping piles of dust from the work day when the bell on the door chimed, indicating that someone had come in. If you were in alone, you always make sure you have some sort of self defense weapon, which was always no more then a small pocket knife. When you saw that is was Jack Sparrow, your short lived nerves settled with relief, though you may not know him well, hardly at all, he would give you a smile if he ever looked your way when he was there.

He seemed to be someone you could trust, but you never can be too careful. You walk over to greet him, telling him you were closing for the night but could let allow him to order something to take with him to go. After that encounter, you don’t encounter again until about two years later and that’s when your dreams of adventure comes true. During the two years since the last encounter, you’ve been saving money towards your dream and set a goal of making a commitment to the day you pick to embark on your adventure, the next chapter in your life. Even though you practically own the bar, you still don’t get paid enough, not even a decent payment as anyone would think you get working there. But as little as the pay was, you decided that little pay is better then no pay at all.

Before officially making your embark, your siblings all got married and started making future plans of their own as they still have their whole lives ahead, as well as you. You were happy for them, you cheered them on, but right before departure, you were asked several times if they should expect wedding bells in your future anytime soon.

“What about you? Do we see wedding bells in your future, (Y/n)?”

They weren’t asking this to be stuck up or to hurt you, to make you fill unfit. But when they would ask about the next chapter in your life, you would give a small smile and your honest answer.

“Honestly, I don’t see myself getting married anytime soon, possibly even never. However, if that’s the case, then I know that only means that there’s something better waiting to come forward.”

It never mattered what path you might choose to take your life on, you had your family and friends cheering on, as they were all very supportive.

What you didn’t coming was of everyone, not just your friends and family, crew, even your newly made foes would always mistaken for you and Jack Sparrow as a couple in love. As much as you tried telling them otherwise of the false accusation, it didn’t seem to work for anyone, didn’t seem to make it abundantly clear that Jack Sparrow was nothing more then your captain and you were nothing more to him then someone whom is part of his crew. There was no reason why you shouldn’t take a while to get used/adjust of what was heading your as you watched dreams you’ve had unfold into reality before you. It was still new to you, but Jack Sparrow was more then willing to help you out, to make you feel comfortable and at home, and that only took a couple of days.

You were a quick learner and soon didn’t need anyone’s help, already knowing the ship and how things run, having that becoming a memory you can remember the most. But yet, you would be seen still by Jack Sparrow’s side. Standing by him was something done out of friendship, nothing more, but everyone looked at it differently, in a way that wasn’t true at all, not in the slightest. Of course, there are times when you’re seen in just the right way to make everyone think of you as a couple, but you really weren’t.

You were both a team, but not in that kind of way. Fast forward five years in the now future, you remain in the same spot and you really couldn’t be happier. Nothing else could top this to have you think otherwise, you loved where you now stood and you weren’t planning to move at all anytime soon. By this time, you both got used to being mistaken as being more then just friends, it had become normal.

What it really was, at least in the way you look at it, it was two best friends taking an adventure of a lifetime together just as they have wanted.

Living the life of adventure is something everyone dreamed of doing and not very many are sometimes not meant to live through the exciting journey.

You were one of the lucky ones to achieve your dreams, what made it better was the fact you were sharing the new memories with your best friend. Not even just that, but sometimes you couldn’t believe you were on the very same ship together.

Which of course, it the Black Pearl.
