jenna !
“So… founder’s ball.” Jenna nodded to herself. “How do I have a good time, without drinking?” An impossible feat, but cut her some slack, she’s trying not to become an alcoholic.
the familiar voice from his childhood pulled mason from the zone he was in, playing pool with a friend and a couple strangers. he stepped away for a moment, a smile spreading across his face at the sight of jenna. "jenna sommers, how long has it been?”

“an animal attack? seriously?” lips curved around an apple he had grabbed from one of the famers market vendors, taking a large bite out of the side. on the inside, he was kind of offended. were they calling him an animal? if they only knew. “an animal could never.”
mason hadn’t meant to be eavesdropping, but it certainly appeared that way when he spoke up to the stranger who appeared to be talking to no one in particular. the stranger, who mason had sensed from two blocks away, was a vampire. mason raised his eyebrows, amused and intrigued. “is that a confession?”

“Quite the temper on ‘em and they say we’re rude, you wouldn’ imagine some of the things I’ve heard, it’s shockin’-” Vera said thoughtfully looking around at some of the people coming and going around them. “Exactly, see? Name me one potato with such strong pinkies,” After realizing what she had said, the young wolf burst out in laughter at the statement. It had been awhile since she had genuinely laughed, it was hard to make good conversation when you spent most your life avoiding it. She awkwardly gestured for them to start walking with the flow of people on the pavement, “Florida? Hmm, I can honestly say I haven’t set one foot there, odd. I came to see a friend, but…”
“i believe it. you hear some crazy shit in florida. it’s not too bad here, or at least it wasn’t eight years ago. hope we haven’t scared you away yet,” mason replied, his smile growing wider at the sight and the sound of her laughter; he played along, if only to make her laugh like that again. “let’s see, there’s the russet potato, sweet potato, you name it. they’ve got pinkies that put mine to shame.” what was he even saying? she had him saying some ridiculous things he wouldn’t dream of having a conversation about before, but her laugh made it enticing, and made it feel okay to talk about without having to worry about sounding stupid. upon sensing something off about her last statement, perhaps a sore subject, mason decided not to pry anymore. “tell you what. anyone asks, i’m that friend. i got you.”

surprise crossed her features she had spent the majority of her first few years being unseen and unheard of , she kept a low profile as she saved to put herself through college . she’s more than a little surprised she didn’t know him , especially going on eleven years now . ‘ oh a falls native ? ’ she teased with an easy air about her . ‘ my story , well , it’s a long and boring one , left home when i was sixteen ended up here and now i’m a teacher at the high school , so yeah that’s the gist of it , nothing too exciting . ’
mason never stayed in mystic falls for long. even this time, in his mind, his stay was temporary. he just had to get the moonstone and get out of here again. it wasn’t a surprise that he’d never seen her. a shame, though, that’s for sure. “impressive,” he spoke. “so, what do you do here?” he wasn’t asking as an ulterior motive, he wasn’t suspicious or trying to get the inside scoop. he was curious, and yes, impressed. “actually. . .” he paused, glancing around them and considering whether this was a good idea. “if you’re not too busy, i’d love for you to join me for the rest of my run. maybe to the grill for a drink?”

★·.·´¯`·.·★ 𝖔𝖕𝖊𝖓 𝖘𝖙𝖆𝖗𝖙𝖊𝖗
Around the square the world was silence with the exception of a paintbrush angrily brushing against an almost blank canvas. Painting always seemed to calm him down and prevent him from mindlessly slaughtering the locals. Although Klaus cared nothing for the lives of the town’s human population, he didn’t wish to draw attention to himself yet. As soon as he wished it the entire town would know his name but it was much too early for that. Soon a body moved in front of him, blocking the view he was so meticulously painting. “Excuse me love you may wish to move and refrain from blocking my view.”
mason had no intent of moving from his spot, body blocking where the man was facing easily. “oh, i’m sorry about that, cupcake.” he wasn’t one to pick fights with vampires, but something weird was going on here. the town seemed more vampire infested than usual, and this one seemed relatively calm and polite. excuse mason, he was never a very good judge of character. he wasn’t even looking for a fight, he just needed to figure out what they wanted in mystic falls, considering he himself had his own agenda that couldn’t be compromised. “what is it with you british vampires appearing in town? just curious.”

‘ just might be tougher than i look . ’ while jovial , her comment was as close to the truth as it could get , but with a smile , an easy type of grin stretching across her lips , thalia pulled off the joke well . ‘ thalia , and i don’t think i’ve seen you around , you’re new ? ’ she questioned curiously as she offered the male , mason , her hand in greeting .
“i believe it,” mason said, not that she looked particularly not tough. he certainly wouldn’t try anything to piss her off. not that he wanted to. “actually, i kind of grew up here, but i have been in florida for more years than i’d like to admit.” he wasn’t old by any means, but thinking back over his own history, he sure felt it. “so, yeah. i guess you could say i’m new, because i don’t remember you. what’s your story, thalia?”

She secretly gave a quick glance up and down the taller male, then shrugged, having another drag of the toxic chemicals then sending them on back into the air above them. “Well expect a fuck ton more collisions in life and not everyone’s as nice as I am.
Vera scoffed in disbelief, stealing a glance towards his abdominals, if anything he was a french fry, delicious and probably off-limits for the alpha, "Er, no way,, there’s more muscle in your pinky than I ‘ave in my entire body ’m sure.”
Grey smoke trickled from her burgundy stained lips, while the young wolf gave him a coy smile, at least he didn’t try to guess for himself. “London-born mite, and you?”
the accent, while a bit difficult to understand and definitely unexpected at first, was growing on mason. a chuckle left his lips at her words, finding them both funny and flattering. also, the accent. he loved it. “thanks for the warning. i’ll keep my eye out for those americans,” he teased, which in his experience, was totally the truth, himself being no exception. “but you got me there. my left might be fine, watch out for this pinky.” he held up his right one with a playful smile.
“mystic falls. well, i’ve been in florida, but i was born here. what in the world brings you here of all places?” was it slightly awkward for the pair of them to be standing in the middle of the sidewalk, two strangers chatting it up? certainly--from an outsider’s perspective. to mason, it was enjoyable, and she was pretty, and clever.

@ofvulpini -- fox !
mason sighed impatiently as he set his drink down, turning to the vampire whose obnoxious face and voice were getting on his nerves. “dude, get out of my face, alright?” he leaned forward, eyebrows raised in a territorial and defensive, but not quite intimidating way; he didn’t want a fight tonight. “you don’t want to piss me off, trust me.” it was a fair warning. usually mason was pretty good at controlling his temper, especially around vampires since, well, he was dating one. this type of vampire was the worst. “i’m going back to my drink, now. you can walk away or you can join me.”

“i’m not gonna lie … i always thought it was some dumb sitcom trope. how easy and borderline ridiculous gen-eds can be?”
“but nope. i’m really out here getting a grade for taking a nature walk.”
it was a beautiful day and mason would be doing them a great injustice to lock them up in the gym. "is that what you call a walk, parker? looks more like a trudge to me. guess i could make it a run, if you’re underwhelmed?”

josh !
“you know,” josh said, in between bites of fries, “this town’s history is actually pretty neat.” he was studying his notes while he was on break at the grill. the guy next to him at the bar didn’t seem nearly as interested as josh did. or maybe he was just day drunk. “way cooler than my hometown.”
“guess that’s why i keep coming back, the history.” mason had come and gone from mystic falls his whole life, it was his family that tied him to this place, but he was a free spirit. his family may be one of the founders, but he never felt anything but out of place. yet, here he was. he leaned over, glancing at the notes in front of the guy. “so, what do you think is neat about it?”

“Ahh, it’s not problem, really,” Waving it off the woman smiled, they both were at fault here after all she could have been less stoned some days. She would had better reflexes to prevent it. She straightened up with a sigh, knowing it was hard to understand her sometimes as much as she tried to blend in the accent would never go away. It was a part of her and her family, maybe the only thing she had left of them now. Still she carefully enunciated to be understood, achieving an almost passable American accent.
“Sorry, wot I basically meant was you runnin’ into me was why ya shouldn’ exercise in the first place….was that better?” Vera said sheepishly exhaling some smoke.
mason was relieved she wasn’t the type to curse him out after a collision, or after asking her to repeat herself, since he knew how that could easily come off as rude. clearly, he’d had plenty of opportunities to screw this up already, but she seemed really chill. it could have been the dilated pupils though, that gave away why she was so chill. “well, how am i going to maintain this stature if i don’t exercise?” he teased. but mason wasn’t cocky, so he felt inclined to add, “just kidding. i seriously look like a potato under this shirt, don’t be fooled.” now there was not a lie. perhaps an exaggeration. he was a potato with a six-pack, that’s all. “so, where are you from?” he also wasn’t great at identifying accents, and he was curious.

valeria !
headphones in ears, val walked down the sidewalk with the music blaring as a means to shut out the outside world. it was safe secure; a time where she was able to just be in her own world without having to worry about anything for once. it was nice, peaceful even. so peaceful in fact that valeria had lost herself in the music as her eyes remained locked on the sky. it was a small bliss but nonetheless a bliss that would inevitably be short lived when she came crashing into another person. stumbling backwards, the brunette fell to the floor of which caused her headphones to rip out of her ears. ouch, she though to herself as she tried to glance up at the figure but found it hard to to the blaring sun overhead. “i it’s okay.” she said as she quickly grabbed her headphones and stuffed them in her pocket before coming to a stand. “i should’ve been paying more attention.”
mason opened his mouth to protest her apology, and apologize again, but when he looked at her, he was struck with a sense of familiarity. he squinted at the young girl, not knowing where he’d seen her before, not sure why her face was so familiar but more. . . mature? “valeria,” he blurted out after a few seconds of staring, and breathing heavily from his run. the older male was so distracted that he hadn’t gotten the chance to ask if she was okay, he was making mistakes left and right, but she’d really caught him off guard. “it’s been so long. it’s mason, do you remember me?” how could she? she had to have been eight of nine the last time he’d seen her. he probably sounded like an absolute creep. “i’m tyler’s uncle,” he added quickly. what a reunion, not at the family’s mansion but on the street, where he literally knocked her over. he felt like such an asshole.

Vee flinched, slamming into the stranger’s torso and cursed aloud to herself as she stepped away and straightened back up. Her cigarette had bent slightly but it was still intact, something that would have changed her oddly cheerful attitude in an instant.
“Eh, it’s no problem mate, yoy all righ’? That’s wot ya get for exercisin’, it’s more trouble than it’s worth som'times, yeh?.”
She teased having picked up his scent before their collison.
veins pumping and heavy breaths distracted mason as the stranger responded, and between that and her heavy accent, he hadn’t caught most of what she said. scratching the back of his neck, he gave a sheepish smile and spoke, “thank you for not punching me in the face, but. . . sorry, what?” the accent wasn’t something he would expect to hear in mystic falls, but then again this town had never failed to surprise him.

a sharp inhalation her body jostled slightly as a body collided with her own , granted if it hadn’t of been for that extra kick she’d been cursed with , he’d sure would of knocked her off her feet , but dainty fingers gripped his forearm to steady herself in a very human way before she looked at him . ‘ whoopsy daisy . ’ she couldn’t hide the smile as she pulled her arm back . ‘ no blood , no foul right ? just watch out next time , you could do some serious damage . ’ she teased softly .
at the same moment the woman reached out to steady herself, mason reached out to steady her. a smile grew on his own face once he’d noticed hers, finding relief that he hadn’t knocked her over and caused injury, considering he was a lot stronger than most and easily could have. and had, in the past. also, she was kind of really gorgeous. “nah--if you can survive that, you can survive anything.” with a chuckle, he stepped back. but he wasn’t ready to jog away just yet, and it wasn’t because he was too tired. “i’m mason.”

nothing blew off steam better than a run, that was something mason had learned when he was a teenager. a decade and a half later, he was still practicing the same old coping mechanisms that he was back then. at least that had stayed the same, still brought him the same relief it did then. mystic falls had changed drastically since he’d last seen it, around seven years ago when his last visit was. he could get used to this if he had to. he was taking in the sights while he ran when he knocked into someone completely unintentionally. “whoa!” he stopped, out of breath and now feeling incredibly clumsy. “sorry about that.”

tyler !
HOSPITALS ARE GROSS , and they’re even worse when you’re covered in bruises given to you by someone you considered your best friend. to add onto that , his right eye is slightly swollen , along with a bruised lip and a few cuts here and there. his dad just left the room a few minutes ago , after offering the boy nothing but a cold set of words at such a loud volume that he’s sure the whole hospital heard him getting scolded for fighting in the middle of a party as opposed to somewhere outside , where things could be handled ‘ like men . ’ after all of that , tyler’s in need of a breather , and for the first time since waking up , he’s somewhat glad to be bedridden. his eyes are closed now , and they remain that way as he hears someone else enter the room. “ what , you gonna yell at me too? ” he asks , voice still hoarse from the events of the night before.
mason is exhausted from a long night, and a longer morning of traveling and dealing with his family. it’s bizarre that a breath of fresh air comes to him in a hospital, but seeing tyler calms him, and makes him remember why he can put up with his brother. "that wouldn’t exactly make me the cool uncle, would it?” his eyebrows rise as he stops a few feet into the room. the story he’d heard from his brother and sister-in-law about what happened at the party sounded far too familiar to what he’d gone through when he triggered his own curse. tyler’s just a little luckier, it seems. mason isn’t going to let him risk it again.

here’s mason !! i was so excited 2 throw him into the starter tag i almost forgot an intro ,,
hi it’s me again, olivia!! so ready 2 bring u guys pure wolf man mason lockwood !
so even though he’s an Old Man, he’s a new werewolf, triggering his curse just a month ago in florida by killing his pal who was compelled by katherine 2 die !
previously estranged from his fam, he’s now back in town after hearing about tyler’s fight with my other son matt. he’s here 2 be the cool and respectable uncle for both tyler and valeria both of whom he loves a lot!!
basically he hasn’t been around for almost seven years so there’s obvs somethin going on between him and his brother nd sister-in-law. would love 2 explore it !!
but he’s like ,, whipped for katherine guys it’s kinda pathetic (but relatable) he’d do anything 4 her, even die or get a moonstone or somethin like that. . .
boy had a pack back in florida (jules’ pack) but just decided 2 go to mystic falls w katherine and get the moonstone and see his family. but mostly get the moonstone.
mason is just a good dude. he’s really forgiving and accepting, but also possess the universal werewolf trait of a short temper, so he can snap super quick and it’s Spooky. other than that he seems like the Cool, Sexy, Athletic Uncle he always wanted 2 be. he can control himself well!! he’s p naive, thinking katherine rly loves him and he’s probably gonna die in the ritual so don’t get used 2 him !
juST KIDDINg don’t kill him i love him. plot with him. write threads w him. he’s pure nd good. love him!!
