Every time I revisit The Hobbit, the casual and needlessly vitriolic fatphobia toward Bombur from just about everyone is more noticeable and ugly. When Bombur points out how badly he’s treated, Thorin even threatens him that “something bad will happen to you.”
Fuck you people, you deserved to have to carry his asleep ass through Mirkwood after your attitude is what caused him to fall into that magic sleep river to begin with.

Curumo / The music of the Ainur
Since the begining Curumo has contemplated his role in the music. He had sung with Aule but the discord had swept him up in confusion until he could hear nothing else. Then in his desperation he joined in. He keeps this to himself. He tries to make sense of what it means for him to be marred like this and opposes Melkor even more fiercely. As he worries his thoughts take shapes of many colors.

This is why you shouldn't have moral qualms about lying on your CV, you mean so much to them that they get an AI to throw out that application you put hard and earnest time and effort into. Match their energy. They don't deserve the truth. Meanwhile, you deserve a living wage.
A good rule of thumb for AI is "would you trust a trained pigeon to do this?"
"We trained a pigeon to recognise cancerous cell clusters and somehow they're really good at it" okay great, that's something that could plausibly be a thing.
"We trained a pigeon to recognise good CV:s and left it in charge of sorting through all our job applications" uh perhaps consider not doing that.

if you don't do anything else today,
Please have a moment of silence for the people who were killed instead of freed when news of emancipation finally reached the furthest corners of the american south.
have another moment for the ledgers, catalogs, and records that were burned and the homes that were destroyed to hide the presence of very much alive and still enslaved people on dozens of plantations and homesteads across the south for decades after emancipation.
and have a third moment for those who were hunted and killed while fleeing the south to find safety across the border, overseas, in the north and to the west.
black people. light a candle, write a note to those who have passed telling them what you have achieved in spite of the racist and intolerant conditions of this world, feel the warmth of the flame under your hand, say a prayer of rememberance if you are religious, place the note under the candle, and then blow it out.
if you have children, sit them down and tell them anything you know about the life of oldest black person you've ever met. it doesn't have to be your own family. tell them what you know about what life was like for us in the days, years, decades after emancipation. if you don't know much, look it up and learn about it together.
This is Juneteenth.
white people CAN interact with this post. share it, spread it.

There’s about five or six physiological and sociological factors that have converged these past few years that have made me so tired, I mean to an extent I don’t really recognize myself. It’s fucking exhausting, obviously. I wish I could act more. I still have interests and opinions and passions and ideas, but there’s like. Nothing to get them past the physical and metaphysical barriers that stand between brain and action. It’s like all the electrical wires were cut. If I ever get past this, there will be hell to pay.

Borrowed the audiobook of The Left Hand of Darkness on Libby because I want to reread but my concentration for reading with my eyes was shot years ago, and it's an old white guy narrating it. I mean, maybe he's a perfectly nice and talented person, but I dunno if I can do this. It sounds so wrong.

How come you're all about "feminism" until it's time to protest? We haven't seen you make a single fucking post about the LA riots and it's really disappointing.
Hi friends. This is your reminder not to reply to questions like this. You do not need to self-report your behavior. This is a guilt trip designed to make you violate your own Miranda rights.
Also, they are not riots (Freudian slip, fed?), they're peaceful protests and are a democratic right under the first amendment.
where to find your local protest donate to legal funds my local immigrant support network
be safe out there, i love you.

Probably been looking at this too long, not sure how well its working.
Trying to use the green/purple differently to the blackberry dragon, but its either too dark/too muddy/too something.
Keen on the purple wings, its just the rest looking funky.
Huff.

I love this so much. There was some hysteria on bsky that it’s trying to force people off meds who need them. It’s the opposite. It’s for people who were overprescribed a medication that isn’t helpful for their condition, who weren’t forewarned about how hard detox from SSRIs is (ever heard of brain zaps?), and now feel afraid to come off a medication that’s harming them.
