Headbands are a mandatory accessory to be worn with natural dreads. There are many advantages of wearing a headband while sporting dreads – covers loose roots when the dreads are forming, holds up your natural dreads high while still showing them off and sometimes just for a chic look.
Just like every other hairstyle, dreads require care, support, cleansing and styling. Headbands and dread beads are popular among dreadlock holders as they keep your dread away from the face. Dreads allow trying different fabrics and textures, hype creative options and impressive look at the same time.
Bandana Headband keeps your dread safe and secure all day long. They look great! Bandana highlights the volume and length of your dreads with a hint of glamour. There is tact to wear bandanas, place bandana behind your bangs and pin it up, then leave them down and sweep aside. Now, set your dread to a strong, stylish ponytail and you are ready to flaunt!
Contrary to the trend, dreads are quite creative and versatile mode of hair styling. With dreads you can stand apart from a huge crowd and have a style statement of your own. Not only this, dreads are called a hippie style, which every person cannot carry. To style up as a hippie, your look can be made classy with dread beads, flowers, clips and headbands. These hair accessories can infuse a creative flair to your dread look. Dread will look great in every case whether styled up in a pony or down to flaunt.  Hippie style headbands add a Boho look with feathers, flowers and braids.
Thick headbands are necessarily another good option to keep away your dreadlocks out of your face. If you are concerned about your loose dread roots, then you will be glad to know thick headbands cover them until they grow fuller and thicker. Dreads are of different patterns and textures, so is the availability of thick headbands that can complement your hairstyle every time. By covering the roots, you can easily maintain smooth, nappy dreadlocks. And never think that putting on headbands might hinder your dread growth and development. Bands are going to be a vital player in your long dread growing journey!
All these looks are fine, but dread shampoo is a must to keep your scalp clean and healthy to avoid dandruff or else the whole chic look will be shattered.

How to Choose Between Thick Dreads and Thin Dreads?
The journey of dreadlock is quite interesting as in the initial period people keep on thinking whether go for thick or thin dreads and with time get a conclusion. In some cases, people surprisingly grow organic dreads and fall in love with nature’s idea. As we begin the saga of dreadlocks, let’s have some insight based on personal experiences of dreadlock holders.
Thick Dread
Pros:
• It tames the super thick hair beautifully if volume is not that essential. • Thick dreads are easy to sculpt into different styles such as Bantu knots, pin curls, dread beads, etc. • In this case, the quantity of dreads decrease, therefore, spent less time maintaining the twists and tightens. • In most cases, it proves to be stronger and durable.
Cons:
• If having thin hair and less volume, thicker dreads will give a scalpy look. • Takes more time to dry as thick dreads hold more water and hence the idea of shampooing becomes difficult. • Styling and mimicking loose hair become quite difficult with thick dreads.
Thin Dreads:
Pros:
• The thinner dreadlocked hair beautifully mimics loose hair in both styling and appearance. • People with thin hair can also enjoy a fuller hair, better volume, and having Clean Dreads become easy. • Usually is pleasing and good enough for those who aren't in love with dreadlocks. Note: This is not to please others but many think it is a hindrance to futuristic growth, therefore for a viable compromise have thin dreads.
Cons:
• If having voluminous and thick hair, the dreadlocks might look too big. • The maintenance time increases with tightening of roots. • If the hair is not healthy and strong, the chances of breakage increase highly. • Sculpting into certain twists and braid becomes difficult.
Hopefully all the points mentioned above might help in making your decision easier on whether to go for thin dreads or thick ones. So, natural dreads can now be tamed according to your wish and priority, so love your dreads and flaunt them proudly.
