Aileen scowled when he heard him say no on the other side of the door, ready to kick at the door again, but then she heard footsteps and stopped herself. She had to keep reminding herself that she had to be reasonable here but it was so damned hard to be. Not to mention, she didn't really have much practice with it. Her pep talk to herself was, as always, useless because it slipped from her mind in a second when Eli finally opened the door and asked her what she wanted. Aileen imagined his question to be more condescending than it really was. "What do I want?" she snapped at him. "I am waiting for you to get back to me, Eli, and instead of doing that you're ignoring my calls." she pointed out, sounding irritated.
She moved to the side a little, trying to look past him without much success considering how massive he was. She knew she really needed to give Eli his space to make a decision about this, but the more time he took, the more panicked she became -- because what if his answer ended up being no? "Is Noah in there?" she asked finally, looking back up at him before she cleared his throat rather obviously. "Is my son in there?"
The last three days had been filled with an anxious sort of energy. There was simply no other way to describe it. Ever since he’d spoken to Aileen, Eli had been thrumming with anxiety. He was sure that everyone around him had noticed it, but he hadn’t been ready to discuss it yet. Noah’s mother had asked for permission to be a part of their son’s life again, and while Eli knew all of the reasons why he shouldn’t deny his boy this opportunity, a large part of him wanted to. Aileen had been so flaky and unreliable in the past and he wanted to hold that against her, wanted to put his foot down, and say that Noah deserved better. That he’d been the parent who’d stayed. But Eli also knew that had the circumstances been reversed, had he been the one who’d walked away for one reason or the other, he would want Aileen to be gracious to him even if it wasn’t fully deserved.
Eli groaned, glancing at the ringing phone. He’d get back to whomever was calling later. Or he’d ignore the world until everyone went away. That seemed like a more desirable alternative.
He’d been just about to throw himself on the couch, flip on a comfort movie, and forget everything when he heard the pounding at the door, followed by the voice. “No,” he called back even as he stood and trudged to the door. He slid the lock open and stood in the doorway eyebrow raised. “What do you want now?”

Being by herself after returning to Spring was something she was still having trouble getting used to. Not that she wasn't absolutely relieved about being back -- of course she was, it was home after all. The beauty, the brightness, the light, the flowers, the sun -- they all brought her immense relief, it was everything she had been devoid of for months. But that wasn't enough, she couldn't spend her days just feeling relief about the fact that she wasn't trapped under the mountain anymore. There should be more to feel. Even with the elaborate tattoo on her hand, the eye which seemed to follow her, covered by her glove now as it was, there should be more to feel. But somehow, she felt empty. Hollow. She was home but the past few months still gave her nightmares, as much as she wished to let it go and move forward. But she tried, and Tamlin tried -- they all tried. It was all they could do.
She refused to let her mind wander back to those horrifying days, walking the grounds of the Spring Court, letting its familiarity make her feel at home. She walked the many paths silently, grateful for the safety she had in Tamlin's Court. She wandered aimlessly, when a voice broke the silence. She knew Alis hadn't meant to scare her when she came to speak to her, she knew. Yet her voice made Feyre jump, a small yelp leaving her lips, looking around in panic before her eyes fell on her and she forced herself to calm down. It was just Alis. It was just Alis. It was just Alis. It took her a while to convince the other that she was alright. Of course Alis knew she wasn't completely alright but she gave in after Feyre insisted otherwise for a while, telling her of what Tamlin had requested instead. A smile grew on Feyre's lips at the mention of her High Lord. She tried to feign disappointment when the faerie wouldn't say why he had summoned her, but she couldn't keep it up for too long, she was too happy to have the chance to spend more time with him Tamlin, she didn't care why. "I will meet him, Alis, Thank you."
She hummed to herself, a new spring in her step as she made her way briskly by herself to the glade. Her mind threatened to wander as always, but that was only until her eyes fell on him. He was far away but his otherworldly beauty hit her just as it did the first she had ever laid eyes on him, and she knew it would be so for all the years to come. She sped up towards him without even realizing it. It was true that the Spring Court felt like home to her -- there was a reason for it, and it was him. He was Spring. As dark as their days had been recently, he was still Spring. He was her home, and she let thoughts of him fill the emptiness within her. Everything felt lighter on seeing him, a smile growing on her lips. Mine, she thought to herself and that thought brought her quite a bit of happiness. She had fought for him, she had died for him, and she had him, he was hers now. My High Lord. On reaching him, her hands went around his neck, every other worry that plagued her mind slipped away as she looked up at him. "I was summoned by the High Lord, I was told." she said, her tone playful as she looked up and her eyes met his. "Pray tell me, what he wants with me?"
The Wild of Spring @lockinspo
Tamlin still wasn’t used to seeing Feyre walking the grounds of the Spring Court and his heart not jumping within his chest. Only weeks ago, he’d watched her die in his arms. Her blood stained her cheeks and his tears washed it away. Despite the time that had passed, it still felt like he was there — frozen in that moment, never to see her again. Now, he watched from a distance as she walked along the gravel paths. Although she wore a smile, often, he couldn’t help but feel that there was something so much deeper.
There was for him. Neither one had managed to find the words to speak of it yet. He held his hands back, watching the ground moved as he walked. All he wanted was to know the thoughts that swirled beyond her placid visage. He bit his lip, swallowing hard. They would make it through this, wouldn’t they?
They would. They’d made it through so much worse.
Tamlin quickened his pace and made his way to the kitchen, where he found Alis bossing around the new, poor chef. Bless her soul — training an entire household in only weeks. She must be tired. He politely waited until the conversation ended and then requested a picnic basket from the chef.
“Alis?” He asked. “Can you ask Feyre to meet me in the glade? For lunch?”
Alis gave him a knowing smile. “Yes, my lord. I’m assuming you don’t mind the pants and tunic?”
His eyebrows wrinkled. What was she talking about? “Never…why?”
“People have been talking.” The housemistress sighed. “Say she’s still a bit wild for a High Lady.”
Tamlin pressed his lips into a frown. “Feyre may wear whatever brings her the most comfort. If the rumors don’t stop, send the culprits to my office tonight.”
Alis nodded quickly as he headed to the door. “Koda?” She asked.
“Yes?” Tamlin’s attention was recaptured at the use of his nickname.
“Might you run a brush through your hair. You look a bit wild yourself.”
He smiled, his eyes crinkling. “Wild is always welcome in Spring.”

No, no, no. This was not happening. It cannot be him. It just cannot. But regrettably, just saying it over and over again to herself didn't make it true. His was a face she could never forget. Not after all these years, and it wasn't from lack of trying. He looked different now than how she remembered though. And not in a good way either. She had heard of it, that his face was scarred and an eye was clawed out by Amaratha -- but it was jarring to see it, and she hated thinking of him suffering, in pain. She tried to push that thought away for now, and focus on the issue at hand. She had to hide from him, and quick.
She stumbled as her heart raced, steadying herself looking around to find a way to run, hide, but it was a open clearing and there was nowhere to hide, not before his eyes fell on her anyway. Words failed her, and she only stared at him with a panic she hadn't felt in ages, her heart thumping so loud, she could barely hear anything else. Her mouth opened but she wasn't able to speak, and she shut it staring at the red haired male with wide eyes. With everything she had heard, about him being mated to Elain Archeron, she was bracing herself to get the broken pieces of her heart crushed further if he insisted on talking to her. @tofeelthecold

Aileen stared at her phone which lay on her table, irritation evident on her features. Three days had gone by. Three whole days and not a single text or call from Eli? Sure he asked for time but by god, how much time did he need? She needed to secure a job fast because thinking about Eli and Noah every waking minute was not helping her in anyway. She glared at the phone some more before picking it up and calling Eli. And her irritation only grew when he didn't answer.
That bastard.
Huffing, she pocketed her phone, got her keys and drove straight to his apartment. Unlike last time she wasn't going to be patient, or even tried to pretend. It wasn't long after that she stood before his door, pretty much kicking at the door rather than knocking. "Eli, you in there?" she called, louder than necessary, huffing as she waited for a reply. @lewistan

It had been two years since she had left Chicago but being back in there somehow made her feel as if she had never left. Over the years many a times she had wished she never left but then she knew she did the right thing even though she had hurt Connor by doing so. If it hadn’t been for her mother’s treatment, she knew she wouldn’t have come back. She told herself it was because she had a new life now but a part of it was also because she was too scared to face Connor again. To deal with how much she had hurt him. But of course, she couldn’t keep avoiding him now that she was back in the same hospital where they had first met. A smile was on her lips as she watched him talk to another doctor in the ER before he turned in her direction and she walked towards him, hoping that the nervousness she felt wasn’t all that obvious through her wide smile as she spoke teasingly. “How is Dr. Vanilla Latte doing?” @tofeelthecold

The party had so many people there that Izzy had thought about leaving before she even entered. But when she did she couldn’t help the anger she felt, albeit unjustified anger, at the sight of Connor with Ella. She had no right to feel how she did, that Ella needed to stay away. So before she could think it through she was there, he’d left to get drinks, at least that’s what she assumed he’d done, and it was the perfect opportunity. She’d walked up to Ella and used her powers to make her leave because she didn’t want her anywhere near Connor. Not that it was her place but she still had feelings for him, even after all these times. When he returned she looked at him and shook her head. “Nothing, She needed to go home and wanted me to pass on a the message.”
Connor merely narrowed his eyes at her explanation. To him it had looked rather odd how Ella simply seemed to leave without a goodbye. “Um no, I was watching you both and I’m pretty sure you were doing much of the talking, Iz.” he pointed out even though he wasn’t sure what Isobel could have possibly said to make that happen. Or even why. He turned around again to see that Ella had left, sighing before he turned back to her still looking at her suspiciously before he handed her one of the drinks which he had brought. “Since my date is gone.” he muttered with a slight roll of his eyes.

He had gone for barely a couple of minutes to get drinks for himself and his date Ella, when his eyes fell on Izzy who seemed to be deep in conversation with her. He hadn’t even been aware the two knew each other, and so as he walked towards them, his brows were furrowed in confusion, which only became more pronounced as Ella walked right past him saying goodbye and making her way to leave. “Ella! Wait, what--?” he began before turning to Isobel. “What did you tell her?” he asked her blankly because really two minutes ago he had been pretty certain he was going to get laid. @tofeelthecold

Still dressed in sweatpants and an oversized sweater, since Jamie hadn’t planned on getting out of the house today, she suddenly felt very conscious of what she was wearing as Stefan was standing in front of her. Her gaze was settled on the man in front of her and she wasn’t sure that he knew what he was doing here exactly as well. She stepped aside so the man could enter her apartment, closing the door behind him once he was inside. The woman turned around so she could watch Stefan once more. “Do you want something to drink?” She asked, her body was filled with nerves suddenly since he said that he had something to talk about with her and that for sure didn’t sound good.
He stepped into her place when she let him in, still unsure how to ask what he wanted to. Which wasn’t surprising considering he was not sure what he wanted to say himself. “No, I’m okay.” he responded as the other offered a drink, letting his fingers run through his hair before his gaze settled on her. “This is probably none of my business.. I mean, it most definitely isn't..” he started before he stuffed his hands in his pockets trying to find the right words. He however, soon realized that whatever way he put this, it was going to come out badly. “It’s just, I saw you with -- and I can’t stop thinking about -- well, my point here is, are you with Mason now?”

Granted their Vegas wedding wasn’t something either of them took seriously or bothered to even talk about but when the girl he had started to date flipped out on hearing about it, not that he blamed her, Stefan figured it was time to get that sorted and out of the way. A mutual divorce wasn’t something which would be hard for his lawyer to process or take time, and so after dropping off his kids at school that morning he drove over to Teresa’s house, knocking at her door and waiting for her to open up, trying to piece together what to tell her as he waited. @glittcr

Reese’s bright picture perfect smile turned into one of pure shock when Coal slid up next to him. He was sure after their last encounter that would be the last he saw of him. Boy was he wrong. “Uh, yeah…a very long time.” He awkwardly replied, smile dropping into an expression of utter confusion once the impromptu photo-op was over. “W-What are you doing here?”
“Well, my siblings live here.” he said quickly, having had planned to use this as an excuse when the other asked him as he knew he would. Like hell he was going to admit he was partially there in town for Reese too. He just hoped the other didn’t call his bluff, Coal wasn’t all that excellent at hiding his thoughts, and it was even harder to do so with Reese. “But you’re here too, so isn’t that great? We should absolutely catch up.” @glittcr

There were certain days that Beatrice dedicated solely to herself– days which she spent sprawled out on her couch or curled up under a soft blanket, wearing the most comfortable and unflattering sweatpants, her usually pristine hair in a messy top knot, the glasses that she despised needing perched on the end of her nose as she watched trashy television with an open bag of whatever junk food she craved every other day. That was how she sat then, dark circles going uncovered as she watched the tv, the knock on her door startling her. Her friends knew better than to bother her so as she stood, she was already considering the verbal lashing she meant to deliver as she wrenched the door open.
“Harriet?”
“Hey Bea.” An uncertain smile was on her lips when she looked at her sister who she hadn’t seen in years. Not in person atleast, she hadn’t been able to stop herself from sometimes looking at what she posted on social media, that being the only way she could feel like she existed. Because with time passing memories seemed to feel more vague every time. “I.. you were trying to find me.” she mumbled, unsure what to be telling her. “So I.. came, to see you.” @tveitxwrites

Beck crossed his arms tightly over his chest, “Don’t be ridiculous,” he replied irritably. He was sure that Shreya’s skill in business was perfectly fine, after all, he had been hearing great things about Holi Tandoori. “You can’t possibly have every table booked every day! There must be some cancellation or wiggle room to fit me in,” his arms dropped as he gestured, his frustration apparent. “I’m the father of your child. Surely that should be reason enough.”
His irritation only made her elated but she refused to show it, instead simply looking at him with a raised brow. “What can I say, nobody wants to cancel. I can fit you in around March.” She couldn’t help but smirk as she spoke despite her attempt to look serious. “Father of my child?” she laughed. “Well congrats for knocking me up, Beck, but that reason doesn’t cut it.” she said starting to feel even more amused at how she was able to easily get under his skin. @tveitxwrites

Seeing Jamie with Mason on what was clearly a date was not something that should have been completely unexpected, but it was a bit of a shock for Stefan all the same. It was a bit of a wake up call too, a reminder that Jamie had told him she wasn’t going to wait for him to work out his issues. Logically, he should let it go, be happy that she was happy but he couldn’t bring himself to be. There was a lot of confusing feelings in his head and Stefan wasn’t sure what to do with them. Unsure how to deal with any of it, Stefan went over to Jamie’s, deciding that perhaps talking to her would help but when he saw her, he wasn’t entirely sure if it was a good idea. “No, no you didn’t forget.” he said forcing a smile to his lips. “I just.. have something to talk to you about, I suppose.”

When Jamie had walked into her ex earlier that week AND he had asked her on a date, she hadn’t exactly known what to do. Stefan had come to the front of her mind nearly straight away. The man that brought so many feelings into her life but also a man she wasn’t sure of that she could wait for him until he was finally ready. The fact that they had been sleeping together once again was a thing that didn’t make the situation any easier on them. So eventually she had chosen to go on that date with her ex.
Little did Jamie know that Stefan had seen them. If she had known, then it would have made a lot more sense on why he was suddenly standing in front of her apartment when she had not expected him that day at all. A questioning look was on her face as she watched the man in front of her. “Stefan? What are you doing here? Did I forget that we would meet up today?”

Working at a bar meant his days were nothing short of boring sometimes and that afternoon when boredom hit it’s peak, he decided that he was going to go and bug Lily. He grinned as he walked in through the door and the other spoke just as she would to any customer without noticing yet that it was him. “And what if I am here to just bother you?” he responded in a teasing tone. “What’s my freebie for that?”
Adjusting to Hogsmeade hadn’t been particularly difficult but there were still plenty of days that Lily missed Diagon Alley and London as a whole. Maybe it was the hustle bustle of those areas while Hogsmeade was decidedly more quiet. Unless students from Hogwarts were around, there was a good chance she’d only have one or two customers a day. Therefore, a grin lit up her face when the bell on the door rang. “If you’re here to buy a potion, i’ll throw in a small vial of fire protection.”

Sirius grinned as he watched his friend walk towards him when he was behind the bar but as soon as he spoke he rolled his eyes in the most dramatic way possible. “You keep saying that Wormy.” he pointed out before he went to grab the bottle of firewhiskey and poured it out for him, placing the glass before the other. “You know what? I am gonna brew up some polyjuice potion and turn into you and actually go do the quitting for you.”
Peter wasn’t sure if he could handle another day at work, another day of explosions. He always smelled singed, and the last date he went on, he’d hardly been able to mask it beforehand. He’d made up some lie to try to pass it off as fine, but then again, he’d also lied about the job he’d had. What was sexy about Exploding BonBons? He couldn’t even lie and say he was an auror, because who would believe that. Lighting a cigarette in his lips, he waited outside of the Three Broomsticks, still shaking. That, that was the other issue with the job–he couldn’t handle the sound. He felt pathetic, that a sound made him shake like that, and as he put out his cigarette against the brick of the wall, he couldn’t stop his mind from spiraling. Anxious energy filled him as he went inside, beelining towards his least-anxious friend. Merlin, what would that be like?
“–I’m going to quit. This time, I will.” He dropped on the barstool in front of one of his best friends, his shoulders slumping as he relaxed forward. “I fucking mean it, Sirius, I am handing in my two weeks notice tomorrow.” He knew he had this conversation every other week, and he knew his friend was tired of hearing it. Same damn complaints with no action… “–I just need some firewhiskey, I think.”
