I study using the reverse Pomodoro method where I focus for 5 minutes and fool around for the rest 25 minutes.

そこそこ登ってそこそこ歩いて、さぁ目的地に到着でございます。

見上げればそこには大公孫樹。樹齢は約1300年ともいわれておるそうな。

いろづきはまだ碧味の強い黄色。されどもこの存在感、ただただ圧倒されました。

So far I know how to write 9 kanjis by heart, and I'm a bit surprised I managed to remember/visualize them after a small break of learning japanese symbols!

They are the following: 田 -> Rice field 中 -> middle, within, among 山 -> mountain, hill 口 -> mouth 来 -> next 週 -> week 年 -> year 月 -> month, moon 時 -> hour, o'clock

Note to self: Practice reading & writing them a lot!! So we won't back to square one on our kanji learning progress.

1 . 過程 (かてい): process, course, mechanism (彼はボート作りの過程を説明した)

2. 宴会 (えんかい): banquet, reception, feast (宴: うたげ, エン )

3. びしょ濡れ (びしょぬれ): sopping wet, sodden, soaked

4. 典型 (てんけい): typical example, exemplar (典型的: てんけいてき: typical, representative, model)

5. 水入らずで (みずいらずで): privately; with outsiders barred; en famille (親子や夫婦など身内で他者を交えないこと。 親しい間柄に邪魔が入ることのない状態)

6. 余分 (よぶん): extra, excess, surplus (その仕事のおかげで彼は月に六万円余分の収入がある)

7. 弁償 (べんしょう): compensation, reimbursement

8. 採用 (さいよう): 1. use, adoption (of a technique, idea, etc.) (私たちの高校では新しい教授法を採用することにした), 2. to employ, recruit

9. 邁進 (まいしん): pushing forward, striving towards, working devotedly towards something (仕事や勉学を「頑張る」という意味で、「学問に邁進する」「勇往邁進」などの言い回しで用いられることが多い)

10. 節約 (せつやく): economizing, saving (mostly money but also time, energy etc), (その機械で、あなたは多くの時間と労力を節約できます。)

11. 製造 (せいぞう): manufacture, production (ウラニウムは原子力製造に用いられる。)

I know Duolingo is not going to take me anywhere but does anyone have any recommendations for Japanese? I am studying it and I am on my 115 day streak but I can only do so much with this app. I will review my books but if anybody has other resources please let me know!

鎌倉行き

2012年、 御霊神社。

江ノ電が鳥居の目の前を通る御霊神社。紫陽花と走り抜ける江ノ電を写真に収めようとする人がたくさんいる。

単線の江ノ電は交互に鎌倉方面と藤沢方面がやってくる。ここまで来て「藤沢」の行先標では冴えないので、「鎌倉」行きの江ノ電を待って激写。

04/21/23 ∘ day 10 ∘ you learn by doing, and falling over

i had to proof-read my geo course in the last couple days, and gosh, i don’t do that so good. also i had so much anxiety because of my optician appointment. it went very well but it completely disrupted my week, cause the anxiety persists.

now, i’ve moved on to reading through my health ed assignments and making quick notes on them. unfortunately, they thought 12 graded assignments is somehow reasonable so i have so much work to do before the month ends. i’d like to get it out of the way before leaving the country

it’s 2am and i should be sleeping but here i am staring at my bookshelf. most of my books aren’t here though :( this shelf just includes some of my favourite books, and also some that i want to read soon-ish. and school books, ugh…
