Scary house
🎃Halloween party🎃
platonic!Loki x platonic Stak!reader
Words: about 0.65k words
Warning: a bit scary, sarcastic reader (how a Stark can’t be sarcastic?), a scared Loki ?
Author’s note: hi loves! day 21th! Here  I’m so sorry but i was really busy this week. I’ll try post everything this weekend.  I choose to write this with Stark reader, because I really love tha idea of the daughter of Tony getting along with Loki. Hope you like this one I really enjoyed writing this one.
✒️:  “You won’t be able to convince me to enter that abandoned house.” “Okay.” “What, you don’t insist?” “No, because apparently you’d rather be alone in the surroundings of an abandoned house in the middle of nowhere.” “Fuck you.”

Loki still could not believe how weak he had been and how he had been persuaded by you, in following you in this, to say the least, stupid venture.
“You are a little Stark witch, and you will not be able to convince me otherwise.” He says, following you as you enter the woods, now in darkness, with only a flashlight to light your way and the light of the moon, dimly coming through the dry branches.
“They also call me Morgana, as well as Y/N.” You say laughing as you realize you are almost there. It took weeks to convince the God of Deception to follow you on your quest: to visit an abandoned house you had seen might be cursed. You didn’t know why you were so intrigued, but you felt you had to go through with it, and besides, it was the time to try out the new powers gained from one of the gems: the ability to communicate with the afterlife. The fact that it was October 21 and therefore ten days before Halloween was purely coincidental.
“Really?” Asks the stunned god as he sees you pause, which can only make him let out a sigh knowing his impending doom.
“No, I was being sarcastic, I summon the dead, it’s not like I’m King Arthur’s sister, at most they can call me Nico of Angelo.”
“Sister of whom? Nico of what?” Loki asks even more confused than before.
“Nothing, quiet, fangirl things.” You say as you roll your eyes.
“I don’t understand you young humans.” He continues.
“At least you have the excuse that you’re from another planet, here even our parents don’t understand us.” You say before walking toward the abandoned mansion. It’s bigger than you expected, but that certainly won’t stop you.
“You won’t be able to convince me to enter that abandoned house.” He says distantly, since he is still not following you. You smile, knowing that you will succeed one way and another, and begin your game.
“Okay.” You say quietly as you continue walking toward the house. You’re a little afraid too, but you try not to show it, and you succeed brilliantly.
“What, you don’t insist?” Loki asks in amazement as he takes a couple of steps toward you. He knows inside that he loves you more than he cares to admit, and that somehow this young daughter of Stark has managed to warm his little icy heart and now seems almost like a daughter or younger sister to him, and so he can’t help but be concerned about you, which is precisely why he agreed to come.
“No, because apparently you’d rather be alone in the surroundings of an abandoned house in the middle of nowhere.” You say simply, turning around and smiling at him, before continuing walking and arriving at the front door of the house.
“Fuck you.” Loki shouts, only to run and arrive in seconds beside you. “Sometimes I really hate you more than your father.”
“I love you too little snake.” You respond by opening the door, which is opened with an eerie squeak. “Besides, I want to practice conjuring and talking to people, and I need your help. Maybe even see some ghosts!” You continue excitedly, as he widens his eyes, and begins to scream.
“YOU’RE CRAZY IF YOU THINK I’M GOING TO LET YOU CONJURE UP GHOSTS IN MY PRESENCE IN A CURSED HOUSE IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE!”
“Are you finished?!”
“YOU LISTENED TO WHAT I SAID!”
“No, and I don’t care, now we want to go in or what.”
“Sometimes I wonder if you have any survival instinct at all.”
“How tragic we are. Remind me never to let you see a horror movie.”
“WHAT WAS THAT NOISE.”
“Your breath Loki, your breath. God even Disney you can’t see at this rate.”

Sweet Enchantments

Part 1, Part 2
an// ok, y'all like this more than I honestly thought you would so I feel like I have to spoil y'all. Also also, if you have ideas for other parts, I'd be glad to see em!
tg// cuteness, things are starting to get steamy

Marc, for some inexplicable reason, just wanted to see you happy. Maybe it was because he also knew what it was like to feel trapped, unable to return home. Maybe it was because Steven found you interesting, and Jake felt oddly safe with you. Either way, he found himself seeking your smile.
But Marc never saw you as something so innocent, eager and excited like a child, until now.
When they made their first wish, your eyes widened like saucers. Your magic had rushed around in a flurry, engulfing the world. When it cleared, Marc looked up and saw an endlessly blue sky. The air smelled like lavender reeds, honey, and fresh water.
The four of you were standing in a beautiful grand courtyard of smooth limestone. Iron lanterns hung from banisters strung between the jeweled walls of cobbled towers. Billowing curtains flapped in the cool breeze as the sun warmed glistening stone fountains. The sounds of carts being drawn through the streets was overlaid with music coming from a meal house.
Marc looked around and realized that all of your clothes had changed- light fabrics fit for traveling in the heat, bearing beautiful tapestry designs. Jake fidgeted with his midnight black and earthy red garments before finding his trusty cap and wedging it on out of habit. Steven was adorned in cloudy white and scarab blue, small gold accents glinting in the light.
Marc himself wore bronze and sunset orange with dark green threading. He wasnt used to wearing anything he considered nice. He looked down at himself quizzically before his eyes flickered to you, and he melted.
"Oh my- this is- oh my stars!" Your hand hovered over your mouth in disbelief, eyes growing soft at the sight of home. It all felt so familiar, even the scents wafting through the air. You were folding in on yourself. You looked to them and couldn't decide what to say. "Oh thank you, this is amazing! I never dreamed of this, in a million years!"
You leapt into Steven's arms, who laughed as he hugged you. Jake nearly swept you off your feet, holding you firmly before kissing the back of your hand. Marc had a rare, sweet look on his face. You leaned forward and politely kissed his cheek.
He only blushed once you'd turned away.
. . . .
"Jake, look at all this! This dates back to the 9th century of Persia! The Ottomans must've really enjoyed themselves with this one!"
"Steven, it's just Baklava. You can get that in New York city."
"Yes, but this is authentic! That's real syrup, isn't it, Y/N?"
You nodded happily, laying several coins into the vender's hand. He smiled at you and handed you a wrapped package of treats. Jake was holding everything for you, insisting on watching out for "bandits." Always so protective.
Marc walked beside you, watching children run from tent to tent and grinning at how Jake tried to keep up with Steven's enthusiasm. "Y/N, where exactly are we?"
"Oh, don't worry. This is just a small pocket dimension." You linked your arm with his and he didn't seem to mind. "The lamp's power isn't capable of really going back to the past. But it can create a different world where everything appears to be as you wished. I really can't thank you enough. This is beautiful."
Marc gave you a smile. "Is it like what you imagined?"
"No, it's much better. In the old days, I didn't have you three. Now I do! Isn't that lovely?"
For hours, until the blazing sun dipped below the sweeping horizon, the four of you ran around a more ancient world. You took them sailing to watch dolphins leap along side the merchant boats. You walked along the rooftops and snuck into the private archives of long lost libraries. You even walked the gardens of the palace, Jake scaring off the guards with a single glare.
You made them laugh, rushing to keep up with you in the streets of your old home. Truth be told, you weren't the only one who needed to feel free for once. They forgot themselves, their oldest traumas, and their past while they explored with you.
It was all so exciting, and exactly what they needed.
. . . .
The moon glowed in the sky, lanterns still warm and burning across the landscape. You'd found a nice place to sleep, perched high above the sandy valley. Marc pushed back the curtains to look down upon everything. The world that they'd created for you was so calm.
You were giggling as you fell back onto the large satin bed, pink light illuminating the little room. Jake had been teasing you about something, throwing you playfully down and boxing you in with his arms. "Unhand me, you ruffian!"
"You have to ask nicely for that, mi amor."
Steven watching you two from the other side of the bed, moving to tuck your hair behind your ears. "Be careful, Jake. You don't want to hurt our darling Y/N, do you?"
Jake tilted his head. "Of course not. Unless, that's what our corazón wants~"
You giggled, waving Marc over. "Please help, he's trying to kill me!"
Jake faked a gasp. "Kill you? Never! I only want to eat you up, pretty thing."
"Alright, alright. Settle down." Marc came to your rescue, shooing Jake off to sit beside you. You gave his cheek another kiss of gratitude and he turned his face away from you to hide a smile. You sat up and cleared your throat. You still had a job to do, after all.
"Alright then, you three must have another wish by now? You still have two left."
The three of them looked at each other for a beat of thoughtful silence. Marc shook his head. "We don't have to think about that, right now. We have time."
Steven fiddled with his fingers. "We do have plenty of time with you, don't we, Y/N?" None of them wanted to part with you, and once they made their wishes, there was a fairly good chance they would never see you again.
You took Steven's hands with reassurance. "You can take as long as you'd like. I'll stay for as long as you need me."
Steven looked at you shyly before leaning forward and placing a polite kiss against your temple. Before you knew it, Jake was pressing his lips into the side of your neck, and Marc was laying a kiss on your forehead.
They watched you as your eyes widened, lips parting and expression going soft. You'd never been kissed before and they knew as much- watching your innocence materialize even further. You were a genie, seen as a tool rather than a person. Sure, you'd been flirted with. But gentle kisses? Well, that was new.
Slowly, Marc cupped your face. "Is this okay?"
You nodded your head wordlessly. You felt Jake shift behind you, wrapping his arms around your hips. Marc continued to talk to you while Steven felt at your clothes. "We haven't had the chance to thank you. This little vacation has been pretty amazing, you know."
"You don't have to thank me," you whispered. "This is what I'm supposed to do. I exist to serve my masters."
Marc looked a little displeased, but it was hard to focus on him with Jake's hands wandering over your body. "You shouldn't have to live like that, Y/N. You should be able to do whatever you want, yeah?"
"But... I..." You looked up at him, taking shallow, quick breaths. "I want to be good for you." You said it so earnestly, it made their hearts melt.
Marc let go of your face to let Steven nuzzle against your jaw. Steven urged you on, "But you are so good for us, Y/N," He said. "You're wonderful, and you deserve a reward for being so lovely, don't you think?"
You were caught between Jake's chest and Steven's gentle attention, both of them wrapped in an enchanted desire. Your eyes dripped over Marc's clothes and suddenly you found yourself picturing him without them.
You, yourself, weren't allowed to make magic wishes. But luckily, you didn't really have to.

What Is Your Wish
Moonknight Altars x Genie Reader P2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Part One
After you let the boys into your lamp, they have questions. One if them being: what would you wish for?
an// y'all asked for part two and it was my pleasure to deliver <3. If this goes well, we'll shoot for part 3.
tg// lamp shenanigans
@twistxdx @kotonei-molyneux @mona-has-friends @renee834729 @crosshair-is-the-superior-clone
Steven fiddled with his fingers. "Well, what should we wish for? World peace? Environmental restoration? The elimination of nuclear weapons?"
Jake chuckled. "As soon as we wish for something like that, humanity will just screw it up again. I give it five days."
Marc chipped in, "More like five minutes."
Steven nodded. "Yeah, you're probably right." After a few moments of silence, Steven looked at you. Sunlight from the window was kissing your skin, making your clothing sparkle. He had to shake his head to snap out of your spell. "Excuse me, dove, but what would you wish for? If you were us?"
Your bright eyes blinked at him, lips parting in thought. "Well I...I couldn't really say."
Marc raised his brow. "You hiding something from us?"
You giggled, "Of course not! It's just... genies aren't supposed to make wishes, or dream. Not anymore. In the ancient days things were different, but... oh neverminded. I guess you could wish for diamonds or jewels."
Jake nudged Steven. "Or for a bigger flat. This place is getting cluttered, Steven."
Steven placed his hands on his hips. "Well maybe If you two helped me clean-!"
Marc grabbed Steven's shoulders. "Relax, buddy. It's not that bad. You're doing a great job. Just let it go." Then, he turned to look at you. "No offense, pretty genie person, but can I ask how the hell you got inside our apartment?"
You shrugged. "I was in the lamp, honey. I wouldn't know."
Steven's eyes brightened, as they always did when he found something new to be curious about. "How big is the lamp on the inside? Is there a different world in there? What about animals, and buildings, and-"
You laughed, "Well If you're so curious, I could bring you inside?"
His jaw fell open. "Really? Oh Marc, we just have to. Just imagine it!"
Marc sighed. "Of course you want to be stuck inside of a two-inch genie lamp."
Jake shrugged. "I'll come."
You didn't even charge them a wish when you sent your magic smoke to envelop them, taking them into the realm of your lamp.
. . . .
When they opened their eyes, they were greeted with endless sand and the night sky. Their gaze followed the light and found what appeared to be a beautiful tent. Chiffon curtains billowed in the desert wind, ornate lanterns swaying from the tent's sides.
Steven's eyes were wide, dark irises reflecting the light. Jake, hands in his pockets, was looking up at the stars with a concealed mask of wonder. Marc was getting tired of having sand in his shoes.
When they entered the great tent, Steven gasped. On the inside, it was huge; Candles hovered in the air, illuminating great tapestries, carpets that shifted their designs, glowing bottles of elixirs decorating brass shelves, and a multitude of ancient texts which rearranged themselves in order. Books, scrolls, and tablets of ancient knowledge unknown by man. Steven was in a dream.
All manner of creatures lived by the magic of the lamp, including butterflies, which settled on the lavish couch you laid upon. A tiger-like beast was settled at your feet.
"Welcome to the lamp! Please watch your step and make yourselves comfortable. I'm sorry it isn't clean, haven't had visitors in ten thousand years."
You ushered them closer. Jake removed his hat, taking your hand and gently kissing your knuckles. "Beautiful place, you've got here, starlight. Me encantrar*ia quedarme contigo~"
You blushed, summoning some furniture so they could get comfortable. All three of them opted to sit together on the single couch- they weren't used to being separate and didn't feel comfortable increasing the distance.
Marc, sitting in the middle, leaned forward. "Quick question, after we make our wishes, do you disappear?"
"Mhm. That's how it works."
Steven piped up, "Can we wish for that to not happen?"
"Aw darling, will you miss me?"
Steven looked down and blushed all over. "Maybe..."
For a good while, the four of you went on talking. You answered many of their questions, and laughed whenever Marc and Jake somehow got into it. You enjoyed the company after so long of being alone.
As Jake and Marc got into yet another argument, you took pity on Steven and waved him over. He sheepishly went to sit beside you, a levitating water pitcher pouring him a glass. You pet his hair. "How do you deal with those two, you poor thing?"
Steven laughed. "Worse things have happened. This is all so insane- I was having dreams about this place!"
You perked up. "Dreams, you say?"
"Yes, I know! About the lamp and this desert, and that big cat-thing you've got. He doesn't bite does he?"
"Oh, no. Matiga would never. Here, you can pet him." Timidly, Steven pet your tiger's fur. Matiga rumbled happily in his sleep, tail thumping along the carpet.
Steven laughed. "This is much more pleasant than dealing with Khonshu."
"Khonshu?" You sat up completely, speaking in such a way that Marc and Jake ceased their argument and put their attention on you. There were stars in your eyes. "Are you his avatar?"
Marc hummed. "It's complicated."
You let out a gasp. "I used to know him, millennia ago! Back when genies walked the earth freely. We spoke with gods and avatars, helping them connect with man. Oh, what fun that was! I almost miss him- though he could be a bit bossy."
This made Marc laugh. "Oh, he's more than bossy. I'm not sure you'd miss him so much, now."
You leaned forward and cupped Marc's chin. "If he's smart enough to make someone as handsome as you his avatar, I'm sure he's not that bad."
Marc gave you a sweet little look, turning his cheek into your palm before he pulled away. He did not want Jake making fun of him for melting in your hands. You sighed, fingers fiddling with the flowing cloth of your skirts. "Oh, how I wish..." Before you could finish, you remembered yourself and looked down.
Jake tilted his head. "No no, please. Tell us. What is your wish, amor?"
You waved your hand dismissively. "I just wish I could go back, sometimes. You guys would have adored it- the market places, the palaces, the art. You would've fit right in! Oh, what fun I used to have." As if the lamp could sense your sadness, the colored lanterns seemed to dim.
It was then that the three knew what to wish for.

Falling For You
Pairing: Steven Grant x GN!Reader (And Marc Spector x GN!Reader towards the end).
Word Count: 2.2k (fic)
Summary: You, lover of Norse Mythology, catches the eye of Steven, lover of Egyptian mythology. Fluff.
Warnings: None. If I missed anything, let me know!
Authors Note: I haven’t written something this long in a while. As someone who loves Norse Myths, this is kind of self indulgent, but whatever 🤷‍♀️
Tumblr media
~ ° ♡ ° ~
Steven first meets you at the local library. You weren’t paying attention to where you were going and by accident, bumped into him. Immediately, he kneeled on the floor and picked up his books while helping you pick up yours as well. One of them stood out to him in particular. “Myths of The Nordic Divine.” It was titled and that peaked his interest. It wasn’t often he met others who were fascinated with mythology like him - he preferred Egyptian, though.
“I’m sorry about that, I was in my own little world and didn’t see you there. You aren’t hurt or anything, are you?” You said, holding your books close.
“You don’t have to worry, dear. It’ll take much more than that to hurt me. I see you’re interested in the Norse Gods. What are they like?” Steven joked, trying to keep the conversation going.

Pairing - Natasha Romanoff x Reader
Summary - After an old enemy of Natasha's resurfaces, you take justice into your own hands.
Warnings - angst with a happy ending, angst; violence, murder, blood, knives, guns, weapons, reader is a gorlboss w no remorse
Word Count - 3340
Tumblr media
An old enemy of Natasha’s had surfaced after multiple years in a high security prison and the way she reacted at the mention of his name was one of the few times you’d ever seen her truly scared. She’d tracked him for months, a dangerous and ruthless man who was hard to catch and when she finally got close he went after the only person she was close to at the time.
He killed her friend in cold blood, something she worked hard not to make purely for this reason; it was brutal and gruesome, one of the worst things she’d ever seen.
“I don’t think I’d ever seen so much blood.” She uttered quietly as everyone listened to her recounting of events, you held her hand beneath the table, the quietness to her voice hurt your heart. “He goes after the people you’re closest to - the people you love.” She added, eyes darting to you and Yelena.
“We’ll kill him before it gets to that.” She uttered in response.
“Uh, no. We’ll catch him before it gets to that.” Steve corrected, of course earning an eye roll and a shake of the head from Yelena. The ‘no killing’ rule was boring for you both, that’s what you’d both been trained to do, what you were good at and you’d be lying if you said there wasn’t a part of you that enjoyed it. Yelena, however, was a little bit better at following the rules than you - that big sister glare always put her in line.
“He’s dangerous. You don’t find him, he finds you and if he finds any of us we’re dead.” Natasha spoke, the fear was evident in her face, her eyes glossed over in tears at the mere thought of losing either of you. “I swear, Steve, if Yelena or Y/N get killed because you’re not quick enough to find him I will kill him with my bare hands and you’ll be next in line.” She spoke through gritted teeth before standing abruptly from where she sat and left the room.
She didn’t mean what she said, you all knew that but it was rare to see her quite this scared. It made your blood boil. Acid in your veins, burning at your skin - the fact that this man was causing her this pain. Your jaw clenched in anger, one had gripped tightly onto the arm of the chair as the other flicked through the information on him. If anybody saw the visible anger across your body they didn’t say anything.
It was more of a waiting game than anything - either catch him quick enough when he appeared or monitor any suspicious goings on in the background until he popped up. Every system that could find him was working around the clock but so far, nothing had surfaced. A week had passed with odd whispers of his appearance but never anywhere near New York and by the time you’d get there it was as if he was never there.
So keeping a watchful eye out was the best that could be done; security had been upped by Tony, Natasha kept an annoyingly close eye on you and Yelena and Carol and Thor even arrived to act as muscle just in case things went awry.
Natasha was a little less tense about the situation considering it’d be hard for him to strike in these conditions and Wanda decided that movie nights were the ideal solution to keep everyone together and spirits as high as possible. They’d happened every night and were surprisingly enjoyed by all.
You couldn’t quite let things just be a ‘waiting game’ though and took matters into your own hands, you were training harder and scouring through footage into the early hours of the morning. You were going to take him down one way or another and you’re fairly certain on your way of choice.
You were always good at finding people and your talents don’t seem to have failed you this time either; you knew where he was going to be, you had a plan - you were going to end this and make your Natasha happy again.
“I’m gonna go and train for a couple hours - I’ll be back in time for the movie.” You announced, pushing your chair back from the table, kissing Nat on the top of her head and nodding to the rest of the team before you left.
You knew that nobody would be training now, you made sure to be the only one to not go to the gym this morning, so the coast is clear on that front. Your skills with technology came in handy with the looping of the security cameras and you’d made it look as though you were following your workout routine. You felt like a mastermind with the way you’d secured your room completely, an audio set up to respond as you if anyone tried to go in - you had to laugh to yourself at your brilliant idea.
You were quick to change into your suit with a zip up hoodie on top, favourite knives secured to you and your gun in its holster. You scaled the side of the building from your window effortlessly before heading off, your hood hid your face well enough to catch a bus across town without being recognised.
It didn’t take too long to get there, he’d been right under your noses for a few days, an abandoned warehouse was his cliche idea of the perfect location for a criminal hideout.
In a display of overconfidence, his security was sparse and the overly muscular men smoking cigarettes outside the doors didn’t see the hooded figure creeping up on them. It was too late to save themselves when the silencer adorned gun shot bullets through their skulls in quick succession, blood pooling around their lifeless faces on the dirty concrete ground.
You smirked at the sight, pulling off your hood and tossing the garment aside. You didn’t try to be quiet, squeaking the door open and letting it close behind you with a metallic clang, silent footsteps carrying you through until you saw him. He was playing poker with other sleazy looking men, cheap suits over their bodies and the stale and pungent aftershave they all wore made the air thick.
Just as the first man’s eyes widened as they flitted in your direction you shot a bullet right between them, and just as his body slumped onto the table in front of him you sent another through the next one’s head.
It was simple and quick until the last remaining henchman pulled a gun right back at you, though he of course dropped it with a clatter when you threw a knife right through his arm. You sauntered over to his screaming body and pulled it out before stabbing it right into his neck, he gargled on his own blood whilst you watched until his eyes went cold.
All the while, your true target just watched from his seat, a smug smirk tugging at his lips.
“Hello, Y/N. I must admit, I’m surprised you’re here solo.”
“I’m better at killing fuckers like you alone.”
“So am I.” He uttered and he must think you’re stupid because the make shift booby trap he’d set up hadn’t gone unnoticed by you and the dagger that came straight for your head was easily caught in your fist. God, who does he think he is - a movie supervillain?
“Nice try.” You deadpanned as he tried to hide the shock on his face, not so subtly unclasping the gun from behind his back. You ran at him, closing the space between you just as he was about to pull the trigger. There was a sickening crunch of bone as you bent his wrist backwards, pulling the weapon from his grasp and leaving him crying out in pain.
“Sit the fuck down.” You seethed through gritted teeth, keeping your gun trained on him as he made his way to a chair. The way you shot through his knee made him crash into the seat quicker with a shout, hole torn through the material of his trousers.
“You fucking crazy bitch.” He shouted out as you smirked.
“Yeah, yeah. Nice place you’ve got here - very…no, I can’t even think of anything. This place is fucking gross.” You muttered, checking in the pockets of the blazers of your earlier victims, pulling out guns which you dropped onto the table before casually reloading your own.
“If you’re going to kill me, just hurry up and do it.” He spoke as you made your way behind him, pulling the duct tape from your pocket and generously wrapping it around his wrists you’d yanked behind him. You hope you’d dislocated his shoulder by the way he hissed.
“No, I don’t think I will.” You returned, coming to stand in front of him now with your hand pushing down onto the bullet wound to his knee. “I’m gonna make this real slow. I want to see you crumble, bit by bit, as I chip away at the little time you have left.” You dug your thumb into the hole, feeling the blood on your skin as he tried to hide how much it hurt.
The knife you pulled out was one of your favourites, the shining silver blade reflected the light that hung from the ceiling and you touched the point of it with your finger, twirling it in your grasp with an excited smile on your lips. It was reminding you of the good old days, where you did this kind of thing for a living - it made you feel powerful, you were in control. You played God. You decide whether he lives or dies.
You dragged the sharp edged metal down his cheek, barely breaking the skin, watching as his eyes strained to look at it - full of fear. It was pathetic really.
“There’s no need to be scared. Fear is for uncertainty.” You spoke, dragging it down to his abdomen until you reached the spot you wanted. “And this,” You pushed the knife into his flesh, not fatal but enough to earn a cry of pain. “This is not uncertain - we know what’s going to happen. You’re going to die. So don’t worry, the pain I’m causing will end…eventually.”
He didn’t speak, he was in too much pain for that. Blood dripped onto the grim floor beneath him, grey splattered with red as a sweat formed over his skin.
The knife from his abdomen was pulled out before being plunged back in on the mirroring side - you could never get bored of the sounds of his pain. The panting for breath through gritted teeth, a high pitched groan at the back of his throat anytime he moved. Perhaps when they speak of the angel’s song in heaven, this is what they mean.
“What next, hm? You wanna choose?” You asked him, a twisted smile of innocence directed his way. “No? Okay then, let’s see what you’ve got.”
You wandered over to his stash of weapons, haphazardly displayed on a table across the room, almost as though they were left for you. It was too good an opportunity to pass up, you just had to take your pick and it was like a kid in a candy store.
“You have a sword? That’s cool - a little pretentious for my taste but whatever. Oh, it’s heavy.” You laughed as you picked it up, turning to him in amusement though he didn’t seem to be finding anything remotely entertaining. “Holy shit, you have a rocket launcher - my friend Yelena would love this.” You mused, touching the device where it lay - you were not taking any risks with that right now.
“You’re such a crazy bitch.” He choked out, could he not at least be a tad more creative with his insults? These are pretty lazy.
You stepped back over to him with your chosen weapon of choice, a fancy pair of nunchucks that should hopefully do some slow damage. You sighed in disappointment as you approached, tugging the tie from around the neck of one of the slumped bodies.
“I didn’t wanna have to do this. We were getting along so well.” You tutted, balling the tie up and shoving it into his mouth. “Though I’m not too upset - your voice is really fucking annoying.”
You span the nunchucks in a show off manner, wind whistling through them at the speed before suddenly bringing them down into his shin with a vile crack of broken bone. You did the same to his other legs as tears dripped down his paling face, muffled cries of pain falling on deaf ears.
“These are cool.” You nodded, looking at the weapon curiously.
His head was starting to slump forwards as his consciousness started to dwindle but you quickly flung it back with a punch to his jaw.
“Nuh uh, I’m not done yet.”
You punched his face until your knuckles hurt, blood poured from his broken nose and lips. His eye was swelling shut and you were running out of time. Not only was he on the brink of being knocked out completely but you also had to get back in time for movie night - Wanda had chosen Mamma Mia.
“Okay, dickhead, lucky for you, we’re running out of time. It’s been magical, truly, but there's a pizza with my name on it at home and I’m the only one who likes pineapple so I’m gonna have to speed this up.”
You let your anger at him take over now, repeatedly stabbing the blade of the knife into his body. Over and over and over. You continued even when he’d passed out, pulse weak but still pumping as you got covered in more and more of his blood. The one that finally killed him was the one you sent through his chest, as much force as you could muster with a loud crunching against the metal, blade getting wedged in the bone.
You stood back and admired your handiwork with your hands on your hips and a nod. His head was flopped against his chest, unrecognisable and barely visible beneath all the blood. His white shirt was practically red and the floor surrounding him was glistening crimson; the piece de resistance was the hilt of your knife poking out from his chest, right through that rotten heart.
Your work here was done. He was dead, you’d had a little fun in the process and now it was time to head home. You were covered in blood but you knew the quickest way to walk back without being seen.
You could hear chattering in the living room where everyone else had gathered, just waiting on your arrival from where they believed to be your bedroom. All that killing had worked up an appetite and left you gasping for a drink so you instead made your way to the kitchen, filling up a glass of water and chugging it over the sink.
“What is it, Stark?” You heard Steve hurry out upon seeing the billionaire receive a tense looking call, everybody watched as he rubbed his forehead in frustration and Natasha couldn’t help but think something bad had happened to you. He hung up with an ‘okay’, leaving the room in silence.
“Spit it out, Tony.” She urged.
“Shield agents acted on a hunch that Hill had, they thought sending agents would be best in case they were useless leads, but they found him.”
“They did? Where? Let’s go get him.”
“No. They found him dead, as well as all of his security and an entire poker table of men. They said they’d never seen so much blood.” He returned.
Never seen so much blood.
Never seen so much blood.
The cogs in everyone’s head turned until they realised it’s what Nat had said a couple of weeks earlier. It wasn’t hard to realise you were the only member of the team not currently in the room. They all hurried towards the kitchen at the sound of a cupboard shutting and were shocked to find you casually sitting on the countertop sipping on a glass of water.
“Hey, guys.”
You smiled at them as they stood with mouths agape, eyes wide and appalled at what they were seeing. Your face held splatters of blood, your hands were rusty red and your suit was just as covered.
“Why are you staring? Have I got something on my face? Do I have something in my teeth? I had spinach at lunch.”
“What the fuck did you do?” Tony shouted, the vein that only pops out of his forehead when he’s fumingly angry was staring at you too.
“Isn’t it obvious? This isn’t a makeup trend, Tony.” You responded, gesturing at the blood on your face, you saw Yelena fight back a smile. She was pleased with what you’d done, though kind of wish you’d invited her. “I killed him. He’s not a problem anymore, it’s over and me and Yelena can go to that laser tag place that opened up. And Nat can finally live without looking over her shoulder for him.” You shrugged.
“Detka, why would you - why did you do this?” Natasha asked softly, she never thought you’d go off the deep end quite like this but she wasn’t as disgusted as Steve, Tony and Bruce seem to be.
“I did it for you, my love.”
“You went against my biggest rule, Y/N.” Steve shouted. “Not only that but it was so heinous - you didn’t just kill him you killed seven other men. Do you not feel guilty? Ashamed? Like the monster you so clearly are?”
Wanda, Natasha and Yelena all threw him horrified looks at that but your face never wavered.
“Nope.”
Not ten minutes later, he was dragging you to a cell. You didn’t care, you’d done what you had to with not an ounce of regret. He pushed you in there as though he didn’t even know you, like you were the scum on the bottom of his shoe, just another monster.
It was only an hour of you lying on the ground staring at the boring white ceiling until they crept in - Nat, Yelena and Wanda.
“We’re getting you out.” Yelena grinned, bouncing on the balls of her feet excitedly.
“Really?”
“Mhm. You’re my best friend Y/N/N and even though what you did was completely unhinged, it was kinda necessary.” Wanda shrugged, using the red whisps to unlock the cell with ease. “And I don’t give a shit about lying to them, you’re not a monster.”
“It was so badass, you’re my new role model.” Yelena added.
“What about you, babe. Any nice words for your beloved?” You asked, poking Natasha’s side when you walked out of the cell.
“You’re a fucking idiot.” She muttered with a shake of her head, green eyes staring into yours. “So so stupid.”
“Sestra, this is not the nice jailbreak we agreed on.”
“For future reference, buying me flowers is a better way to show me you love me.” She smirked, grabbing onto your hand. “Gross, I forgot there was blood on your hands - wow, figuratively and literally.” She laughed. “No but seriously, we need to leave and when we get there you are going straight in the shower.”
“Where are we going?”
“I know a place.” She winked before the four of you skillfully left the building unnoticed. It was a rushed goodbye to the other two women before you had to rush into Natasha’s car, packed bags in the back already. They were under strict instruction to not disclose the location of the safe house she’d been hiding all these years and anytime they’d visit must be carefully planned.
But you were on your way to your new life together, on the run from the Avengers but at least you were together. Everything you do is for her after all and everything she does is for you.

˗ˏˋ VANILLA ;
The sound of glass shattering broke your concentration, making you almost drop the box full of candles that you were balancing on your arm. You huffed in annoyance and opted to put the box on the floor to avoid any accidents, turning to look at the door that led to the back room of your small shop; you already had a vague idea of what may have happened.
You could already picture Loki’s eyes darting between the door and the mess that he made, trying his hardest to mend it with trembling hands before you could walk in.
Accidents happened, you didn’t mind that, and Loki had just started working for you a few weeks ago so he was prone to make mistakes and you knew that. You had been patient with him, praising him when he did good and comforting him when he did wrong. You talked softly to him, gave him clear instructions and elaborated when he didn’t seem to understand. He was always so apologetic, and seemingly so distraught whenever he messed up, thinking you would fire him; he made you soft, so you helped him as much as you could.
But there was something that you couldn’t help him with, and that was his clumsiness. He was naturally clumsy like that, so you didn’t mind the first two times he had accidentally dropped a candle or several of them. They were just that, accidents; hell, even you made mistakes some times. But he kept making the same mistake for some reason, every few days you would have to hear the distinct sound of glass shattering much like now. You had frankly got tired of it a long time ago and softly advised Loki to be more careful, but it kept happening either way.
And today you just happened to run out of patience.
You made your way to the room and you swore you could almost hear Loki’s heart picking up in pace as your heels clicked against the floor. And you’re thoughts were proven right once you opened the door. Loki looked up at you with an apologetic look from where he was kneeling on the ground, trying to scrape the wax that had already hardened and sticked to the floor, at least he had managed to pick up the glass shards before you arrived. You recognised it, it was a vanilla scented candle, you had finished the mixture just before and left Loki to fill up the jars before engrossing yourself in restocking the store. You titled your head slightly with a stern look as you noticed that the nervousness with which he welcomed you had almost vanished, leaving behind a very calm Loki, too calm for someone who just committed a mistake he shouldn’t have.
“Sorry miss, it was an accident” he now almost sounded like he didn’t mind it at all, you quirked an eyebrow at his attitude, “Are you sure?” you asked seriously and he nodded before getting back to removing the wax. Oh, he thought he was going to get away with it again.
“Loki, how many more times are you gonna make this mistake?” you questioned as you moved to stand in front of him, “I don’t know miss, I’m sorry” he looked up at you almost sad and you scoffed. There was something else in his eyes, something that made you mad, like he was daring you to do something.
“I’m tired of your incompetence” you spoke roughly which surprised Loki, you had never talked to him like that before. He moved back so he could look at you better, and he shivered slight at your cold stare, “I’m sorry, I—” yet his apologies where harshly interrupted, “You keep making the same beginners mistake and I’m fed up” you reached down and tugged his hair harshly, surprise evident in Loki’s gaze as he stared at you with doe eyes, “So I’m gonna teach you a lesson, which I should have done a long time ago” Loki felt chills down his spine at your stern voice and couldn’t help the way it made his insides tingle and the heat travel through his body, “Miss, I don’t understand” Loki pleaded softly but he noted how it only made your eyes grow darker and your hold on his hair tighter, “Get up” you demanded pulling him upwards while still having a firm hold on his hair.
Loki moved how he could as you dragged him to the small couch you had placed in the room for break times, where you and Loki had shared lunch over the past few weeks, where you had looked at him with softness that made his heart clench; softness that now was gone, replaced with an almost hateful gaze.
You pushed him harshly to sit down on the couch and quickly climbed on his lap, his hands unconsciously going to get a hold your uncovered thighs as your short skirt hiked up, before you slapped them away from your skin, “No touching” you spoke in an authoritarian voice that had Loki swallowing hard before moving his hands to hold onto the nearby cushions.
You put your own hand on his throat and squeezed slightly, “You have been doing this on purpose, haven’t you?” you spoke in a whisper and Loki couldn’t help but to deny sheepishly with his head, angering you further, “Have you, Loki?” you squeezed a little more in his throat and he swallowed hard, “Sorry, miss” he whispered with pleading eyes, but you scoffed at his apology, not having sensed much honesty in it.
“Well, you gained yourself a punishment, let’s see if it teaches you how to do your job right” you traded his throat for a firm hold of his jaw, before you slammed your lips on his and moved your hand to get a fistful of his hair once again as Loki’s own hands tried to move to your hips before he remembered how you chastised him for it.
Your kiss turned messy once you passed your tongue over Loki’s lower lip and he slowly granted you access to his mouth. You claimed his mouth roughly as you moved your other hand to the side of his face. He moaned into your mouth as rubbed your clothed sex over his notorious erection, and you could already feel the wet spot forming in your panties.
Loki’s breathing was heavy as you moved your lips to his jaw and down to his neck, biting and sucking harshly on various spots that had him moaning shamelessly, while leaving behind a trail of marks that would soon bloom. You moved slightly away from him to tug at the hem of his shirt, which he quickly removed for you, “All this time,” you whispered next to his ear as you ran your hands through his chest, “You were just being a slut” you nibbled on his earlobe and he whimpered below you.
“Just an attention seeking whore” you whispered as you licked your way down his jaw, his neck and further down. Loki moaned loudly at the feeling of your mouth sucking on one of his nipples while your fingers played with the other, “Miss..” he whimpered as you bit slightly on his nipple before moving to the other one.
You looked up at him through your eyelashes; his head was thrown back as whimpers and moans fell from his lips, and you were enjoying it so much. You lifted your mouth from his skin and tried to move off of him but his sudden hands on your thighs stopped you, you pinched one of his nipples slightly and a whine escaped his lips before he let you go, “I said no touching, didn’t I?” you asked and Loki nodded before moving his hands back to the cushions, “I’m sorry miss, I’ll obey. I promise” you hummed, pleased with his submission before you turned your back on him. Loki looked at your back confused, not knowing what to expect.
Oh, you had plans for him.
You moved to the table where the candle jars where resting, you grabbed one and kicked your heels away from your feet before turning to Loki and showing him the vanilla scented candle you picked for him. He watched expectantly as you lighted it with the red lighter that sat on the table, put it back on it’s place and slowly made your way back to him. Loki didn’t know where to focus as he was already overwhelmed; he flicked his gaze between the small flame of the candle and your swaying hips, and he was hypnotised.
He opened his legs further to let you in on the personal space that you had already invaded before. You extended your hand to, almost lovingly, lift his gaze to you, “Don’t move your eyes from me, and I might have mercy on you” you whispered darkly and Loki let himself drown in everything that you where, the contrast between your tone and your touch breaking him completely. Your words lingered in the air and echoed in his head as he kept his eyes glued to yours, not having even realised when you moved down the hand that was holding the candle.
Loki gasped loudly when he felt the hot wax fall on his chest, dangerously close to his nipple. He tried to look down but you got a strong hold of his jaw to keep his gaze on you, “Already disobeying?” you spat before he felt another drop of wax on his skin, Loki hissed closing his eyes and you tsked disapprovingly, “You kept dropping my candles mindlessly, and now you can’t take a small punishment for it?” you mocked him and he opened his eyes to look at you, “I’m sorry miss” he whined and you scoffed, “You’re pathetic, was the whole jar-dropping situation just a stunt? A hidden message, hm?” you questioned letting more wax fall on his skin and he whimpered before nodding slightly, “So this is what you wanted, huh?” you let more wax fall on him and he moaned shamelessly, “These where your intentions from the beginning, you’re just a dirty slut” you relished in his whimpers as you poured yet more wax on him, seeing how it hardened and sticked to his skin, “You just wanted to be put in your place”.
Loki tried keeping his eyes on you, tried to obey you, please you, as you mercilessly painted his skin. The soft scent of vanilla from the candle made him feel light-headed, almost making him forget the sticky substance on his chest. For just a moment he tried to close his eyes, to calm his breathing, but the sound of the candle being put on a side table made him open his eyes, confused at the halting of your punishment; but instead he was greeted by a harsh slap on the face, “What did I say?” you asked in a demanding tone, “…to keep my eyes on you, miss” he answered sheepishly, “Then why did you close them?” Loki’s mouth opened and closed while he tried to answer, “I’m sorry miss— I—” he stuttered trying to look for an excuse but you only smirked at him darkly before finding your place on his lap again.
You fumbled shortly with his belt before unzipping his pants and moving your hand to grip the bulge his cock was making in his boxers, he moaned loudly before looking back at you with teary eyes, “Please miss…” he cried softly and you scoffed, “Please what? What do you want?” you tugged at the hem of his boxers, pulling it before letting it slap his skin back making Loki whimper, “Your hands, your mouth— just anything, Miss please..” he pleaded and you shortly debated between torturing him a little more or getting your hands on him already, “And you think you deserve it?” you asked with a chuckle, “No, but I—” he started but was interrupted as you moved off him and tugged the sides of his pants and boxers down, Loki got the message and lifted his hips to allow to pull the clothes down, you let him kick them away along with his shoes before you sat practically glued to his side.
You used on of your legs to pull on of his own to you, giving you better access to his throbbing cock, Loki moaned when you circled the base with your hand and pumped him slowly. Loki gripped the cushions and closed his eyes tightly as you continued your ministrations.
You chuckled lightly before using your other hand to grip his jaw and turn him to look at you, “What, you like that?” you questioned in a whisper with your mouth inches away from his and Loki hummed softly, “Hmm, you better do ‘cause you’re getting a lot of it” you said with a dark smirk and he whined. You passed your thumb over his tip and used the pre-cum that was leaking as lube before increasing your pace. You watched as Loki moaned louder with each pump of your hand, so you kept increasing your pace, not caring that your wrist was starting to hurt; you enjoyed how he was crumbling for you, and he enjoyed it too.
“Miss— I’m close, I—” upon hearing him, you quickly retired your hand from Loki’s cock making him whine, “Oh, you thought you were gonna get to come, hm?” putting a hand on his cheek you softly made him turn to look at you, his eyes pleading, “How cute” you mocked him shortly before locking his length in your hand again and restarting your actions, “Do you want to come, Loki?” you asked and he nodded frantically, “Well, I don’t think you should” you snarled before increasing your pace abruptly.
Loki was close, really close. He could almost see stars. All he could think of was how good it felt, how mad it was driving him, and how close he was to tipping over the edge, he was already sensitive from his almost-orgasm before so he didn’t require much time to get close to another one. But you noticed too, and just as quickly as the excitement had fogged his mind, it dispersed. You had removed your hand from him the moment you noticed he was one touch away from release, and almost laughed when he turned to look at you with teary eyes and a trembling lower lip.
“What’s the problem?” you feigned concern while softly caressing his cheek, “Please Miss, I’ll do anything— just let me—” Loki begged and you hummed before responding, “Do you think you deserve it?” you asked while hovering your fingers over his length, just slightly making contact with his skin. Loki opened his mouth to answer but ended up swallowing his words, he knew that whatever he said you still wouldn’t relent.
“You made the same mistake so many times” you whispered softly while slowly getting up from his side, Loki whined softly at the loss of contact, “And I was so patient with you” Loki was lightly startled as you pushed him to lay on the couch, “You’ve been abusing my patience” you whispered as you rested your knee next to his head, and something in the way he looked up at you —eagerness, desire, want?— told you he already had an idea of what, or who, was to come, “Don’t you think I deserve a prize after putting up with that for so long, hm?” Loki nodded lightly, eyes sparking in eagerness and with a small satisfied smile you moved to straddle his head. You lifted your skirt and moved your panties to give him access to your already soaked cunt, “You know what to do” was all you had to say before Loki’s mouth was on you.
You gasped loudly at the sudden intense feeling, he knew what he was doing, it was already driving you mad. This is exactly what you needed after a stressful work day; you could feel how every bad thought washed away from you, being replaced with the pleasure of having Loki’s tongue continuously lapping at you— maybe you should let him keep making mistakes, just to have an excuse to savour this feeling again.
Meanwhile, Loki was relishing on the constant string of moans that left your lips; he was pleasing you, finally. He liked the feeling of having you so, literally, close; Loki liked how your thighs pressed strongly around his head almost imprisoning him, he liked how you would occasionally tug his hair harshly when he did a particular something that elevated your pleasure…
Loki’s tongue traveled hastily over your folds, occasionally slipping inside and occasionally making a brief stop to suck at your clit; and it all had you coming extremely close to the edge, but you were holding back, wanting to extend the feeling for a little longer. Suddenly he decided to make a terminal stop which has you looking down at him with a frown, but then you felt two of his fingers dipping inside of you, working in a scissoring motion while Loki focused his mouth on stimulating your clit.
You hardened your hold in Loki’s hair as the feeling became to much to fight. You were on the verge of snapping and Loki could feel it as you almost seemed to choke him between your thighs, “Don’t stop— I’m close— oh, fuck” you spoke between moans. And soon enough, the coil that had been tightening in your belly snapped, leading to a wave of pleasure that had you trembling slightly, yet Loki did not cease his ministrations; only lowering the intensity that had you seeing stars before, trading it for soft movements that helped you ride out your high.
You took deep breaths, calming yourself down before looking down at Loki who already had his gaze fixed on you, expectantly. “Was I good miss” he asked in a whisper and you nodded lightly, he was waiting for something, something you wouldn’t give him— today, “Yes, you did, but you’re gonna need more than that to make up for your mistakes” you replied, the harsh tone returning to your voice.
You slowly got up from Loki and as you fixed your clothes you took a moment to stare him down and say, “You better get up and fix this mess, I’m not going to be as understanding next time” you gestured with your head to the wax that was stu sticking to the floor before making your way out of the room, leaving behind a very frustrated Loki.

Those candle making tiktoks live rent free in my head and this is how they manifested :/
this is kind of out of my comfort zone so I apologise if it seems awkward or straight up sucks :’) I’m still kind of “experimenting” when it comes to writing smut 🫠
Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed it <3

God of Healing
AN: So this past week @how-masterful wasn't feeling well at points so I wanted to write some hurt/comfort for her to help her feel better as I always love to read sick fics when I'm not feeling well. Then the short drabble I had planned spiraled out of control and became a much larger fic.
Funny story, I have not yet watched Moon Knight.... Once again Masterful has gotten me addicted to characters from a show I have not seen. So they will all likely be out of character but I tried my best.
Word Count: 3153
Warnings: hurt/comfort, likely inaccurate depictions of DID, sick!reader, implied platonic (or romantic if you squint) relationship between Khonshu/Reader
Description: Marc and Steven return from a night as Moon Knight/Mr. Knight that didn't have their god hovering over their shoulder. They wonder what could have kept him from bothering them and find out once they return home.
"Bit odd ain't it?"
Marc didn't bother to answer Steven, it would only be a few moments before he would speak up again telling him exactly what was odd. Besides, asking him - no matter how curious Marc really was- would only encourage Steven to chip in with all sorts of observations all night. It would be a distraction. The giant bird that only he could see was already enough of a distraction every night. He didn’t need to be distracted in his own head too.
"All night we've fought, mate,” ah good, here was Steven proving Marc right once again. “Doling out his justice and all. Yet not a word from the bloody pigeon. Most nights he wouldn't leave us alone even if we begged him.... What do you think he's up to?"
"It's probably nothing. You worry too much Steven," Marc dismissed as he focused on quietly opening the flat's window.
You could be asleep and he didn't want to wake you. Why the hell was the window giving him so much trouble!  Of all things to trip up the protector of the travelers of the night- that’s a mouthful ain’t it- it had to be their own goddamn window.  Slowly dragging his hand down his face, Marc tried to release the tension that still held his body tightly wound. Tonight had been rougher than normal. He didn’t want to admit it but without Khonshu acting as an early warning system for ambushes the body had taken more of a beating than normal. Not that anything really hurt- the healing armor stopped that- but it did mean that Marc was emotionally and physically sore. He pointedly avoided looking into the window’s reflection. Steven could fuck off, he wasn’t in the mood to be teased tonight about how he should have listened to their girl. She had been begging them to take a night off for a month now.
He just. Couldn’t bring himself to take time for himself. Not when there were people to protect that deserved protection. He just knew that the moment he stopped moving he would break under your care. Oh, sure it would be healthy and good for him. But he had no idea if he would be able to recover in time to get back to protecting people like he needed to.
Marc forced himself to focus back on the task at hand. No point having a breakdown outside of their own flat when he could silently have it while tightly gripping onto you.
One of them should oil the window soon, it was starting to stick. Ironic really. Marc has assumed that windows would only stick if they were being left unused. Moon Knight or Mr.Knight went out almost every single night. So there was no reason for the window to be giving him any trouble.
The window finally opened enough for them to get inside. Honestly, Marc couldn’t believe that they had a flat with windows big enough for them to use as a way in and out of the flat. It was convenient though. Marc refused to have you leave the door unlocked while he was out, and carrying a key would just be inviting trouble. Without the window to distract him, Marc was left alone with his thoughts about what Steven had said...
One of the few times that Marc would have welcomed Steven’s rambling to distract himself was  of course the one time he decided to be quiet. Even though he didn’t want to admit it to Steven, he had also been a little worried about the startling absence of Khonshu. But, well it probably wasn’t anything. Steven was just being paranoid... Khonshu would end up telling the two of them if it ended up being important.
Slipping into the flat, Marc stayed light on his feet. You could be a light sleeper when you had just fallen asleep. No point stomping around and waking you before he could join you wherever you were.
"Where's our girl, Marc? She's probably still half awake, it’s cute how she always waits up for us. We need to make sure she gets some sleep though. Her poor eyes have started to get bags under them as bad as ours! Course, she would probably say she needs to stay up to make sure we get some sleep."
"Shut up Steven, I'm sure she's sleeping like a baby," he whispered back as he made sure the window was secure.
Flicking a glance across the room their eyes instantly found you in bed by glancing to see your hair spread out against the sheets. Taking less than a moment to see you were there before starting his nightly ritual. He would join you soon enough so all that mattered was that you were in bed.
It was good that you hadn't waited up for him. Well, that's what he tried to convince himself but he could feel deep inside of him some minor disappointment that you hadn't tried to stay awake to welcome him home. Shoving the feeling down guiltily, he let the suit dissolve. Vanishing around him. Ever so thankful that under the suit he wore the sweatpants and t-shirt he would be wearing to bed he walked away from you. A quick restroom stop to brush his teeth and he would be pulling you into his arms.
Marc instinctively kicked the door shut as he flicked the light on. At the very last moment, Steven took over for just a second to stop the door from slamming with their hand.
Ah, shit! That hurt! Shaking out the pain in their hand Marc scowled at the mirror.
“Leaving the pain for me, gee thanks Steven.”
“Well it could have been avoided if you didn’t try and slam the door like a right bastard.”
Leaving the mirror cabinet open just to annoy Steven as he grabbed a toothbrush, Marc began to aggressively brush his teeth. The sooner this was done the sooner he could get some sleep. God he just needed to hold you close and breathe in your scent.
"Marc, Marc!” Steven was being an annoyance again, yelling for his attention. “Bloody hell, and you claim you're normally the more observant of the two of us! She was right, you do need more sleep."
Throwing the mirror back into place so that he could see Steven in the reflection Marc hissed in irritation at the constant badgering, "What the hell is it now Steven!"
Mentally he apologized for the angry hiss he had made at Steven. He didn't deserve that.
"Surprised you haven't noticed the dozens of medications on the sink yet, mate. I think she might be asleep in bed for once cause she's sick or somethin’..."
Toothbrush still in his mouth Marc took stock of the about 20 pill bottles across the sink and bathroom. Huh. How did he miss all of those? It was a mess in here! Sure with all of Steven’s books spread all over the place the flat was always a general mess but normally the bathroom was more tame. Steven did have a few books in the bathroom, too however. More trashy novels that didn't matter if they got wet. Heaven forbid one of his precious tomes got even a drop of rain on them.
Rushing through the rest of the body's before bed routine, Marc was buzzing with nervous energy. He needed to check on you, to stay close and keep watch over you. Nothing was allowed to harm you, not even your own body. Speculating if summoning the suit would help, Marc spat out the froth of toothpaste filling his mouth. Would the healing cape aid in ridding your sickness? You weren’t the avatar but the cape had still protected others from harm. Did being sick count as harm?
Marc skipped the skin care routine that you had made for them. The lack of protest from Steven proved that he was just as concerned about you as he was. Normally Steven would insist on doing at least part of the skin care routine that you have so lovingly made for them. But tonight neither of them wanted to waste a moment of time that could be spent making sure you were okay.
Skidding out of the bathroom, their eyes immediately jumped to lock onto you. To ensure you were still in bed, still breathing. Why hadn’t Marc given you even just one once over before starting his nightly routine? He surely would have noticed if you were sick if he had. If anything had happened to you and he had wasted time brushing his teeth Marc was ready to yank them out himself.
The body froze as Marc and Steven processed what they were seeing.
The fucking bird was holding you.
In. His. Arms.
Petting your hair gently with his other hand as you struggled to breath through your nose. Khonshu’s fucking beak hovering over your head in mock protection.
"Are you fucking stealing my girl, Khonshu! Get your hands off of her!"
Marc's yell echoed through the flat, echoing in the silence. Steven winced at how loud it was. The neighbors were sure to hear if he stayed that loud and then rumors could spread, and then it would become an even bigger mess than what it already was! How would they compete with a god even if it was just the bloody pidgeon? This was it, the end of your lovely relationship. The panic was in full control now.
Steven hadn’t even noticed that he had taken over the body. Marc’s anger and desire to punch the god in his face- skull, whatever- burning in his chest.
Oh, god. Marc's yelling has woken you up. You were stirring. What would you do when you woke up? Did you know that Khonshu was holding you as you slept? Or did you think in your sleep that it was his arms around you? Steven couldn’t decide which would be worse.
"I have no desire to steal this mortal from you Marc Spector."
Oh, well that was good. No need to compete with the god of the moon for you then. That was a minor relief. Wait-
"Oi! The way you said that implies that you would steal her from me but not Marc!"
Khonshu groaned the moment Steven spoke. Rude of him! And here he thought that the grumpy god had finally warmed up to him, began to accept him as another avatar.
“What are you doing then you big bird?” Now that he had been reassured that your relationship was safe, Steven felt confident enough to bully the god a little bit. “I can’t really think of a reason for you to be feeling up our girl when she’s unconscious. Can you Marc? Seems a bit inappropriate if you ask me.”
"Steven," you croaked out.
Oh, right. You had woken up. Maybe should prioritize that over annoying the bird. Gosh, your voice sounded all rough and scratchy. It has to be aching. You would definitely benefit from a nice, warm cup of tea. Maybe some soup. They should have something suitable in the flat to soothe your throat.
Lurching out of Khonshu’s grasp, you reached out for him. Oh, you were just lovely. Steven didn’t exactly want to get sick but he was determined to cuddle you. Just as he was stepping towards you to take you into his arms Khonshu flicked out his staff.
The crescent moon grabbing hold of you like a lasso and throwing you back into the god’s arms. The staff was dismissed as soon as it had been summoned. Khonshu keeping a tighter grip on your body as he forced you to rest back against his chest again.
“What the fuck does he think he is doing to them,” Marc screamed in his ear.
“You are to stay put, little priestess,” the rumbling growl of his stern voice was making you tremble. You had the most upset and sorrowful look on your face. Like you knew that you had done something wrong but hadn’t meant to. “Or I will make use of the bug’s restraints to keep you here.”
That threat was the last straw for keeping Marc from fronting. He would protect you no matter what it cost.
"If she wants to leave your grasp and come to me you better let go of her, Khonshu," Marc threatened.
Inside Steven was panicking about how they could possibly get you safely away from the god. You had wanted to come to them and he had stopped you. You weren’t safe and you were sick, this was officially the nightmare scenario. How could they protect you against a god without Khonshu’s suit, without his help? Oh god, they had never thought to come up with a plan for this. Even with Marc’s protective paranoia tendencies to plan for any danger that could threaten you he had never even considered their god turning against them!
"Hmm is that anyway to thank me, my avatar, for keeping her sickness diminished. Without my aid by now she would surely be in one of those inadequate human hospitals. If she had managed to survive long enough to call for such aid..."
"WhAt," Marc and Steven both stumbled over each other to speak. The word barely comprehensible with the vocal breaks as their accent rapidly changed.
Frozen they both mentally retreated to talk to the other. They needed to think this through, to not rush into assumptions. To consider all the facts they had and plan their next action if any were even needed.
Steven came to the conclusion first.
"Oh, bloody hell. Marc, he's the god of healing too. He's saved her life when we didn't even notice she was ill! This is why he left us alone all night, he’s been healing her. Oh bollocks, we’re bloody awful boyfriends aren’t we..."
“Do you need to be holding her to heal her?”
Marc was still a bit on edge, but now he could admit his curiosity.
“Yes. She is not my avatar, close contact is the best way to eradicate her sickness. I cannot have my most devout worshiper fall to illness due to her refusal to pray for her own health.”
“Devout worshiper? But she doesn’t even pray...” Steven mumbled.
“She has called upon me to protect you enough times to be considered a priestess of my temple.”
Marc could feel his chest aching. A tightness making him want nothing more than to assure you that he would keep himself and Steven safe. Just for your sake.
Sniffling you managed to get out a few words. “I want our Marc and my Steven, Khonshu.”
There were tears on your cheeks. You had been crying silently while they bickered over meaningless things...
“Your Steven,” the god teased. “I do believe that they are both my Moon Knight, little priestess.”
Khonshu was... oddly affectionate with you. And far nicer to you than he was Marc or Steven. Well, not that he could blame the god for growing fond of you. Even Marc could admit it was impossible to avoid the desire to please you, to protect you. He had tried to keep Steven and himself away from you for so long to no avail. You drew them in to orbit you, as the moon does the Earth.
“You’re too mean to Steven so he’s all mine,” you muttered in a sleepy haze. “M’ gonna take Marc from you too if you don’t start being nicer to him so you better watch out.”
Marc chuckled at your empty threat.
“Hmm, then I shall have to keep a close eye on you, little one. I cannot have a priestess of mine stealing from me, after all. Perhaps I shall give the tireless task of keeping you out of mischief to my Moon Knight.”
Slowly making his way to the bed, both boys realized the issue at the same time. They wanted-no needed to hold you. But to do that while Khonshu was healing you would force them to lay practically in the god’s lap.
The moment they were in reach you extended your hands out with the most adorable grabby motions. Silently begging them to cuddle you close.
Steven gave in first while Marc was still debating how to hold you without touching Khonshu.
“Steven, no. Please, just- no.”
“Mate, if there was a way to do this that wasn’t bloody ridiculous I am more than willing to move. But I am not about to risk that sad little face she likes to give us to get her way while we debate on how to avoid touching the almost 2 meter tall vulture that needs to be touching her.”
Admitting defeat Marc let Steven shuffle the body closer to yours. Keeping as much skin contact as possible with you while maintaining as little contact between them and Khonshu. Marc mentally sighed when you purposely sniffled to show that you knew it was just Steven who had moved the body to lay against yours. He pressed a kiss to your forehead to indulge you. The happy little squirm against him was worth any embarrassment that the situation gave them.
Laying in silence as he rubbed circles against your skin until you fell back asleep. Trying his damn hardest to ignore the giant mummified bird in the room.
"Well this is awkward, innit?"
"Steven please," Marc begged. "I'm trying very hard not to think about how while cuddling our sick girlfriend we basically have to cuddle Khonshu too!"
"Bit too late for that now..." he trailed off with a nervous laugh.
Marc purposely avoided looking at Khonshu. Or any mirrors. Finally settling his wandering eyes on your peaceful face. He could suffer the discomfort of being pressed slightly against Khonshu’s body, for you.
“We never talk about this. Ever.”
“Agreed,” Khonshu was quick to answer. Seems the god found this as unsettling as he did.
If it wouldn’t involve bringing this situation up, Marc would pester the god about how he seemed to have no awkward feelings about cuddling his girlfriend. But he just knew that Khonshu would get his revenge by distracting him during his time as Moon Knight by mentioning that he was also the god of fertility. Steven was already going to be enough of a mess worrying over being Khonshu’s avatar and you apparently being considered a priestess by the god making the both of you more fertile, now that the idea was there...
Silently they both agreed to push the thought from their minds for now. They could freak out together later.
At least you were soundly sleeping. And your nose was less stuffy, so Khonshu’s healing was helping. With any luck- which god were they due for some good luck- you would be better by tomorrow and this bizarre cuddle pile wouldn’t be needed again.

A Favor (Part 2)
Pairing: Loki x master of dark arts reader
Warnings: Strong language. The author is not an English native, so please point out the mistakes. No beta, we die like Phil Coulson. Mostly fluff, maybe smut later. I'm also no good at writing y/n scenarios, so please be patient as I figure stuff out. In each chapter there'll be a list of warnings relative to it so please, read 'em first.
Summary: You continue to help Thor, as he did not come back yet, tired out of your mind.
This one is a little shorter than the previous one, but I hope y'all still like it!
Tumblr media
_______________________________
After an hour, both you and Loki mostly vibed to the music as he ran out of the ideas to draw, and you couldn't focus on the screen anymore. He was laying on your double bed, as both of you hummed to the music.
"So, Loki, looks like you'll be stuck with me for quite a while" you joked, closing your already heavy eyelids. Exhaustion was slowly settling in, and you cursed Thor for not being able to get job done quickly enough.
"Am I a bore to you darling?" he asked with smirk on his lips, and a bit of sarcasm. You quickly replied with a smile. "Gods no. Thor probably got lost in the corridors again, or Tony is on his period and is currently giving him a beating." Loki softly chuckled at the comment, and soon you stopped humming the current song as exhaustion creeped onto you more and more. Just before sleep completely consumed you, you could feel cold hands around your waist. The instincts automatically kicked in, shooting your eyes open and grabbing the oponent by the throat. With furrowed brows you came to your senses, and looked Loki in the eyes which were combined with alert and confusion.
You let go of his throat quickly, realizing you were staring at him for more than required. You huffed, noticing a dagger in one of his free hands.
"First off: what the fuck was that Shakespeare?!" you looked at him with offended look. He made the dagger disappear, while slowly raising his hands "I am nothing but a gentleman, and wanted to lay you down on the bed. The seat looks quite cheap. I'm pretty sure you're not comfortable in that thing." Loki said with a slight smile. You blinked twice with confusion. "Thank you? I think?? Are you always this forward with people?" you asked, slightly offended by the action.
"I just wanted to return the favor. You didn't let me die of complete boredom, dear." Loki stated, as he sat again on the bed, pointing at the sketchbook.
You nodded, rubbing your eyes trying to calm your nerves. You sat in silence, and you finally looked at him. "So... Thor didn't mention magic like that runs in your family..." he laughed at the remark.
"Because Thor does not know anything but it. I do." Loki stated proudly. "Okay..." you murmured, as silence fell between you again. Ah, fuck it. You got up, and went to the mini fridge you kept in your room, taking two beers. Opened the caps by flicking your fingers at them, making Loki furrow his brows. You chucked, as this was the only way you thought of, to show him your magical nature. "You're not the only one with amazing abilities in this building princess." You laughed as you gave him the beverage. "So, speak, who taught you such great magic?" Loki sighed at the another nickname, and looked closely at the beer with uncertainty.
"Is this even digestible?" he asked while you sat down again in you chair.
"No." you smirked.
He rolled his eyes, taking a swing and coughing. You bit down your lip to not laugh. Your reaction was identical the first time you tried the beer Tony provided you with.
"My mother." he stated, fidgeting with the bottle. "Sorry?" you asked after taking a sip yourself.
"Frigga. My mother, queen of Asgard." he smiled softly. You looked at him questionably. "She taught me this magic. Sometimes she was able to set a whole row of fireworks across the lake, and it always amazed me as I was little. But eventually taught me the magic. She always believed in me" Loki smiled at the memory. "You wanna see?" he asked. As you nodded he rose up his palm, which set off a small bunch of fireworks. You slowly got up, setting next to him, in awe of such beautiful magic. You've never seen such things before, as your magic focused mostly on harm and destruction.
"You want to try yourself?" he asked, looking at you and returning the smile.
"Oh no, no. I only know how to harm people. I'm not taught to do such beautiful things." you dropped your smile, looking into his eyes. "That doesn't mean you can't learn, does it?" he asked, taking another swing of the beer, placing his palm at one of your knees. As you noticed the gesture, he followed your eyes, realization hitting him "I'm sorry, I dunno what came over me-"
He wasn't able to finish his sentence as you heard a thud to the door. "Lady y/n! Mr Stark has agreed!" you sighed, getting up and saying as clearly as you could, while turning to the door "Jarvis, turn off the defence systems"
And as soon as the barrier was gone, Thor busted into your room, Tony following him in. "Hey Little Witch, good morning Reindeer Games." Tony smiled, and you returned it after hearing the nickname, trying to look as presentable as possible in your pajamas. "Good morning Tomato Can. Sparkles, what took you 2h to get this settled?" you asked with a smirk, as you saw at the corner of your eye Loki placing his beer on your desk and standing next to Thor with furrowed brows. "Ah, we had a slight... Disagreement." he chuckled, looking at Stark. "Yeah, we'll give a bit of time to Mr Puny God over here so he can earn some trust, and then send him on a few missions." Tony said while crossing his arms. "Just to be sure..." he murmured, slightly unhappy of the idea.
"I then shall be on my best behavior" Loki stated, smirking at the man. "C'mon, we'll show you your room Loki" Thor said, and before he turned added "Thank you so much Lady y/n." he smiled, turning on his heel, about to go out of the door. Stark followed him, and Loki turned to you "do you wish to accompany me?" He whispered to you, which made you cross your arms "Why, you got our boss and your brother with you." you smirked, looking at him. "Well yeah, but you're not such a bore as they are." he winked, and turned around coming out of the door. However he stopped for a second.
"So?" he turned around his head, and you nodded slightly. You took your cardigan and ran after them, while closing your door and putting the item on you.
Screw the sleep, I'll just take a free day tomorrow. You thought, strutting next to Loki, as he smiled at you for the decision.
It's going to be a long day.

ᴅᴏᴠᴇ - ʟᴏᴋɪ ʟᴀᴜꜰᴇʏꜱᴏɴ
Tumblr media
Summary: When being forced to join the avengers in an attempt to reform, the last thing Loki expects is to fall for the green thumbed witch who spends all her time in the greenhouse.
Category: Loki Laufeyson X Fem!reader
Tumblr media
This was a new low. Resorting to going behind enemy lines, having to enter the place he had attempted to destroy a couple years ago. And no, not to infiltrate, but to join them. The godforsaken avengers.
"Brother... you need to at least act as though you are willing to be here..."
"Thor... I'm not willing to be here..."
"It was this or you would be condemned to the dungeons of Asgard for eternity..."
Loki had sort of tuned out as Thor continued to speak of what could have happened. His eyes scanned the mutual living space, it was comfortable, too modern for his taste. But then something caught his eye, or someone to be more exact. Your gentle fingers carefully mimic the motion of flipping a page, the book in your hand, in turn, flipping a page. Witchcraft?
He didn't remember you from the battle, and Loki was sure he would remember a face like yours. Gentle and kind, a nurturer he assumed. He was drawn to you for some reason, a reason he could not explain, and his chest was tingling in a way he never felt before. It was... peculiar.
"Ahhh reindeer games... finally arrived..."
Amazing, Tony stark was here to greet him. Loki wanted the ground to open and swallow him, maybe one of doctor strange's portals to open beneath him. Anything to remove him from the humiliation he was facing. Of course, it was deserved, but he could feel your eyes on him, and although he did not know you, he didn't want you to see him this way.
"Stark..." he said coldly in return, keeping the witty comeback about Tony's alcohol dependency behind his tongue. Maybe he could use that another time.
What followed was even more peculiar. On orders of Nick Fury, everyone was supposed to greet him. All of the defenders of Midgard looked up on his arrival, just like he expected the warmest reception he received was from his own brother. That was until you.
"Hello, I'm y/n... it's lovely to meet you..."
Loki didn't know whether he wanted to cradle you in his arms or puke at how kind you were being. He almost fell for it, of course, you were being sarcastic, for who would be intentionally kind to a monster like him.
"Sarcasm? How witty..." he snapped your sweet smile dropping.
"I wasn't being sarcastic I was welcoming you-"
"Oh of course you were... let me guess pretending to be kind so you can find out my weaknesses and report them to the higher-ups... very clever..."
Loki watched as your mouth fell upon, brows drawing together in anger, and just as he expected you to rip into him, scream at how nefarious he was, you simply turned on your heel and left the room.
For some reason, he regretted his cold attitude, not even because now the entirety of the avengers were glaring at him even harder than before. The red-headed assassin stepped forward, her finger pressing against his chest as he stared up with fury-filled eyes.
"Listen here... you are not liked here... you are not accepted here... and going after someone who is for whatever reason trying to be kind to you isn't doing you any favours..."
So you weren't being sarcastic?
Tumblr media
It had been two weeks since then. He now knew of you. The green witch. That is what they called you. A woman of nature, who had harnessed the fruits of the earth and nourished them even in the most industrial of cities. Loki was sure you could view even a common fly with the potential to spread care and worth. You saw potential in everyone, which was probably why you were so warm to him even after everything he had done to New York. You spent most of your time on the terrace of stark towers, in the greenhouse Tony had built you as bribery of helping the avengers.
Even after how distrustful he was by nature, Loki could tell you were being genuine in your words, after all, you weren't there in 2012, and you didn't see the pain and destruction he caused first-hand. However he knew you knew, yet still, you had been nothing but cordial, even after how rude his first impression must have been.
Nick Fury had assigned what he called "classes" to Loki. To him it sounded ridiculous, spending time with the different avengers in their respective fields, was a fancy way of saying he was being babysat.
So far he had spent a day or so with Bruce in the lab, the conversation was minimal but he hadn't seen Mr green yet so that was a positive. He had also spent a few days sparring with Thor and Rogers, both of which under minded him like he was a weak child, it sickened him. His latest class was with Romanoff, not once did she speak, her glare doing all the talking for her.
Yet today was different, today was your turn to show him first-hand what you contributed to the avengers. He was yet to see you in action, only the brief flick of your wrist here and there to open doors or summon items, it was menial, but how the others spoke so highly of your craft, it convinced him not to pass judgment quite yet.
The sun was hot on his ashen skin as he managed to arrive at the greenhouses five minutes early. The first thing he noticed was the range of greenery, flowers, fruits and even a sanctuary for aquatic plants spread across the concrete forest, it was quite the safe haven. Loki breathed in through his nose, it was the first time he'd felt fresh since arriving at the godforsaken tower. Like a new lease for life was washing over him with every passing second he spent in your arena of refuge.
The next thing he noticed was the light humming coming from the greenhouse itself, sweet soft melodies filled the air, and Loki was physically drawn to it, you were like a siren with only good intentions.
A pot smashing startled him from his reverie, your wide eyes staring back at him before you scrambled to pick up the brown porcelain.
"My apologies... I didn't hear you approaching... welcome to the greenhouse..." you muttered busily, your fingers curling around the pot, within seconds it was good as new. Impressive.
"It's quite alright... I'm here by fury's request... I assume you were told?"
"Yes.. yes I was... here come in... you can help me with my latest project..."
This piqued Loki's interest. Nobody had actually utilised him since arriving, only once did Bruce ask for his help, and that was when he needed a top-up for his coffee.
Loki carefully watched as you levitated a shoe box onto the table before you, the lid slipping off with a flick of your index finger, revealing a dove. The Dove was injured, its wing visibly broken, and its beak mauled, presumably by a feline.
"I found her on the roof yesterday... now I can heal plants but animals... takes a little bit more concentration... Thor tells me you were trained in sorcery..."
A fond memory of his mother nursing a mouse back to health resurfaced, but Loki pushed it away. His head only nodding in acknowledgement.
"Yes... however, healing magic isn't my area of expertise..."
Loki watched a small smile form on your face "Ah well maybe I can teach you something then..."
The next few hours went by quickly. The conversation didn't necessarily flow, but Loki found your company invigorating. Your witchcraft was beautiful, delicate fingers nurtured the plants of your greenhouse. He found it endearing when you even quietly spoke to your plants, his lips unwillingly curling into a smile.
He learnt of your heritage, how you'd hidden away for centuries in fear of being hunted for your magic. That was until Tony had managed to find your small cottage in the middle of the forest, coaxing you from your safe haven in hopes of letting you benefit the entire planet, and not just your small corner of the world.
Loki noticed how you didn't hold any form of arrogance like the others, you were simply just you; there to harness your craft and help whoever you could. He truly wanted to learn from you, and even though it had just been a couple of hours, Loki left the session feeling inspired.
Tumblr media
Originally it was meant to be a week, a week in your company before he moved on to someone else, but Loki just couldn't let you go. The two of you had worked hard on researching different complex healing spells for Stevie.
Stevie was the name you insisted on naming the creature, something to do with a singer you liked? Nonetheless, Loki didn't want to leave your sanctuary just yet. After all, he was the god of lies, so one week turned into two and now you were onto the third.
Loki would pop in anytime he could, old books in hand and he would ramble about different approaches you both could take towards finally launching Stevie into flight. Although he enjoyed the little task the two of you were partaking in, he much preferred your company, in fact, he much preferred you.
"Right Loki... I think she's finally ready to take flight, her wing has healed, and she's singing again..."
You murmured almost sadly. Why were you sad? Loki was under the impression you'd be joyful, your hands waving in excitement, but there was none of that. Had he done something wrong? He always did something wrong.
"Is uh... is everything alright?"
"Yes... I just... never mind..."
Your hand waved him off, just like you waved off his concerns. Yet they remained banging against the confines of Loki's mind. He wanted to make sure you were alright, he needed to know that you were. A year ago the thought of caring for one of the earth's protectors would have sent him into a spiral of hysterical laughter and disgust. He wished he was ashamed to feel those things for you, but he swore on the gods that he'd jump off of stark towers and exclaim his love for you if it made you notice him. Before Loki could question you further, you spoke again. This time however it was unexpected.
"Your different from how I thought you'd be..."
His brows furrowed at that. Different how exactly? Different in the sense that he was no longer a homicidal maniac? He supposed that was true, not that the other members of the team believed him to be changed. To them was still the cold-hearted killer who murdered their beloved agent Coulson.
"Pray tell what you mean by that..."
Loki was an incredible judge of character, and he could practically feel the thin sheen of sweat secreting from your forehead out of nerves. Unlike himself you were an open book, he liked that. His father was a brute who kept his cards close to his chest at all times, so in turn, Loki did the same until he couldn't feel at all. That was until he met you, chipping away at the iced cage he'd put his heart into.
"Well I assumed you'd be mean... brutish like your brother... but without the loveable qualities..." Your eyes met his for a brief moment before a smile crept onto your face "However... you're not like that at all... your kind..."
Kind? Loki had never been called kind before. He assumed if he ever was called kind the person who spoke them would get a dagger to the chest just for underestimating him. Now, he wouldn't dream of doing such things. Well, at least not to you.
"I have a confession..." you spoke again, this time looking more shameful. This was usually the part where Loki got let down. Where the person he'd gone out on a limb to trust or care for sunk that very same dagger into his heart.
"Do go on..."
He didn't want that part to come. And lucky for him, it didn't.
"I'm a master healer within witchcraft... in fact, it's my strong point... one flick of my wrist and Stevie could have been fixed within an hour or two..."
Rarely caught off guard, Loki didn't know what to do with himself. You had lied to him? But not in the way he had assumed you would. What reason would you have for not just letting the bird go free that very same day you met him? Loki's low self-esteem didn't allow him to connect the dots.
"I don't understand-"
"I wanted you to come back... I... god I sound ridiculous... I just... you're the first person I've met since joining this team who seems to understand me..."
He could practically feel the heat emitting from your cheeks, you were clearly embarrassed. Loki couldn't focus on that though, your words had paralysed him into a statuesque state of being. His brain was screaming at him to say something, anything.
"I understand if you want to go... I've taken three weeks of your time-"
"I lied as well... I was meant to be in your company for just a week... and I told you fury extended that... but he didn't..." With a shaky breath, Loki continued "As it turns out... I've grown quite fond of your company... and you..."
The toothy grin that spread upon your face shattered the ice cage once and for all. Without overthinking his actions, Loki enclosed your hand within his own looking down into those eyes that sparkled with excitement and wisdom, the very same eyes he would happily stare into for all eternity.
"I'm very glad to hear that... I'm not very good with the whole... social aspect of this..."
You gestured with your free hand, waving it in his direction. If he could Loki would scoop you up in his arms and just hold you for being so unmistakably adorable. But that action may be a little bit soon.
"Darling... me neither..." Another shaky breath left the god's lips and as your floral scent reached his nostrils, Loki knew he was a goner "May I... kiss you?"
A split second after you had nodded your lips met in a rush of gentle nervousness. The only sound that culminated off of the greenhouse walls were the fluttering of dove wings. It seemed that doves were the birds of love after all.

Summary: Okay, so the idea is that it's Loki's first day "moving" into Avengers base and you're unfortunately helping Thor with that.
Tumblr media
_________________________________________________________
You groaned as the light of the morning sun hit you. Pulled another all-nighter just for the stupid reports Stark asked for. You finished them as quickly as you could, and lazily left the office, heading to your room. It was still early, around 6amor so you thought, and the Tower was quiet. You were quite enjoying it, just your footsteps echoing through the corridors, until you finally reached your room.
You sighed, changed into shorts and a tank top that covered everything nicely just above the belly button, and groaned from exhaustion as you layed on the bed.
"Another day in paradise" you murmured as you closed your eyes, and layed your forearm on top of them. Unfortunately your rest was not  long, because in what felt like 20 minutes later, you could hear banging at your door.
You groaned, unpleased with the disturbance "Come in, and if it's you Tony, I swear I'll shove the next raport up your ass" you spoke loudly, still not moving yourself, trying to comfort your burning eyes with a little bit of darkness.
"Lady y/n! I've come to ask for help." Thor said as he opened the door and let himself inside. He's been your close friend for a while now, so it wasn't uncomfortable to let him see you in your pajamas. It all started with you showing him a tad bit of Dark Magic, while he returned the favor with sparring lessons, and with each day of said lessons you grew close to one another. After such a long time you could basically be siblings.
"Sparkles, I really hope someone is rapidly dying, otherwise I'm not moving from this goddamn bed." you exclaimed exhausted as he let out a long sigh. It pained him to see you like this, giving not only your knowledge, but all your abilities to this job. But then you heard another voice speak in the room, not entirely in your direction.
"Well, I'm not doing 'get help'." That sweet baritone you've never heard finally made you lift the forearm off your eyes and slightly raise yourself on the elbows. You laid your eyes on the two gentleman, Thor looking puzzled while the black haired man looked irritated but slightly proud of the joke.
"Fuck me dizzy, alright, who's that?" Confused, you pointed to the man you thought you recognized, somewhere buried in the memories. "That's uh, my brother Loki. Loki, this is my friend, y/n." Thor murmured looking away from you, while the man in a fancy leather outfit looked kinda hurt at the way Thor said it, but nodded his head in your direction as a hello.
You frowned at the name and then it hit you. "Right! I remember you Reindeer Games. New York, like 15 years ago." Loki turned his head to the side at the weird nickname that you gave him. He slowly started to regret the idea of being around another person with Stark's caliber of humor. "Sparkles, why in the worlds you brought Rock Of Ages here and not to your room, or at least wait until I'll be at the office in 3 hours again?" you asked, harsher than intended, but lack of sleep did weird things to the organism as you slowly figured.
"Listen, this was not talked about with Mr. Stark before, it's just.." he swallowed hard, while you sat up at the bed, staring between the two. "Loki did quite a bit of his sentence in Asgardian Prison, and I gave the idea of maybe him joining Avengers, and so with AllFathers approval we got here as quickly as possible." Thor explained, while Loki crossed his arms and was looking around your room, slightly judging the decor.
You blinked twice, kinda shocked to hear the information. Thor did not open up to you about his siblings, always saying that the topic hurt. You slowly nodded, looking at Loki. "So you come here, on unheavenly hours may I add, and ask me to what? Babysit a God?" you asked with a smirk on your face, that quickly faded as Thor looked in your direction and nodded. "Just until I get this settled with Stark, and Loki can live in one of the rooms." he smiled, with his eyes begging for your help.
With a sigh you murmured a weak "okay" and with that, Thor left the room to look for Tony. Your eyes followed him, and as soon as the door closed, you looked at Loki while getting up from the bed.
"Jarvis, turn this room to code yellow until further notice." You said clearly, as the purple barrier covered the windows and the main door. Loki looked alerted as the sudden change happened and then laid his eyes on you, confused.
"Look, I don't want you to kill my teammates in their sleep. So let's just not make it harder than we have to. You can siddown or lay down, I'll take a place here." you murmured as you sat down at your desk, booting up the computer. The God carefully sat down on your bed, still looking at you.
"Until Thor comes back, do you wish to read something, or would you rather draw, listen to the music, anything?" you asked, not taking your eyes away from the screen as you read the report again.
"I had my fair share of literature in that cell, so no on that one." he said with a bit of venom laced in his words.
You nodded, looking at the only free sketchbook on your desk. You grabbed it, with your favorite pencil case that contained your most carefully selected pencils and charcoals. You got up and stood before Loki on the bed, gifting him the gathered items with a warm smile. Dark haired looked in your eyes and returned the smile, taking the sketchbook. You returned to your seat, while in the corner of your eye you could see Loki looking at your previous drawings with barely noticeable wide eyes. You had a skilled hand, but never thought you'd amaze a God with the scribbles.
Smiling to yourself, you booted up the streaming music platform. You selected "Feeling Good" by Michael Buble from one of your playlists and started playing it just loud enough so the headphones could act as a low-turned loudspeakers. You turned to Loki who was about to start drawing, noticing him looking at you with a questioning look.
"If you don't like it, just tell me. I'll stop it just for you, magic fingers." you smiled jokingly.
"Just 'Loki' would be fine for me, dear." he chuckled, as both of you turned to the tasks at hand, listening to the playlists.

˗ˏˋ A SMOOTH SEA NEVER MADE A SKILFUL SAILOR — CHAPTER II ; SAPPHIRE
Two days of travel since the raiding of the royal ship, and you could finally see Sapphire in the horizon line.
The island rose proudly over the water as you had a hand on the helm. You knew how excited everyone was to be back home, but your brain only itched you to make the stay short. You never liked staying on land for long, even if Sapphire was the exception.
Sapphire was a lone island. Nobody ventured in this waters due to rumours of being infested of pirates, which was true to some extent.
The moderate piece of land was a perfect hideout, it was covered in dense vegetation so to any outsider it seemed like a deserted place. Moreover, the rocks around it made it difficult to disembark if you weren’t an experienced sailor; so everyone naturally evaded it. On top of that, since it didn’t fall into any important trade routes no kingdom bothered acquiring the island; it wasn’t of importance to them, they had many other lavish lands to take care of.
There where many other islands like your own throughout the seas, they where known as the lands of no one, since no kingdom had power over them. Because of that, countless pirates claimed these islands as their own, settling in them.
“Get ready to touch land!” Natasha’s yells at the crew snapped you out of your daze as she walked up the stairs, “Finally back home” she said with a smile which you returned.
“Now you can have your alone time with Steve” the redhead flushed at the mention, you hadn’t stopped teasing her the whole voyage, “Just drop it already” she pleaded, “Never” the devilish smile on your face told her you really wouldn’t drop it.
“How are things going with your prince” she asked leaning on the handrail in front of you, “I don’t know what you’re talking about” you averted your gaze back to the island far away, “Oh please, whenever you’re in the same room it looks like you’re gonna jump on each other” her smirk morphed into a full grin as she came to stand in front of you.
“Still don’t know what you’re talking about” you kept your cool.
Truth is, you didn’t spend much time with Loki since you helped him with his hair. You naturally saw him in the early morning as he rose to help Wanda and you ventured into the kitchen in desperate need of your daily tea. You greeted him, but after that you quickly averted your eyes away from him.
At first you where attracted to him because he was a handsome man. You thought you would get over your little crush— because you definitely weren’t going to act on it— but then it didn’t go away, it just got worse.
“I didn’t even see him at all” you blatantly lied to Natasha, but she only smiled, it was easy for her to identify your lies.
“Yeah” that’s all she said before walking down to bark more orders, swaying her hips in that distinctive and subtle manner she always did.
You did see him, but he didn’t see you.
It was the night before, you were watching the tides rock the boat in a comforting way from the quarterdeck. You loved the sea, but sometimes you weren’t fond of the darkness of its deep-end; however, at night you liked this peculiar darkness as it let the stars and moon reflect on the wavy water.
As you turned your head slightly you saw Loki doing the same from the main deck.
You wanted to go talk to him, but your legs held back at any wish of movement from your brain. You found yourself caught in a daze as you shamelessly stared at the runaway prince.
The moon shone just right on his pale skin, so much so that for a moment you thought he was the lost son of the shining rock in the sky. You noticed he was still wearing the cloth you gave him, slightly styled in a different way.
Although he looked slightly messier than when he arrived, there was no denying that he didn’t really fit here. Yet, strangely he looked like the missing piece of the place, maybe it was the porcelain skin or the green eyes that reflected the heavenly light above, but to you, he looked like he rightfully found his place.
You shook the image away from your head and decided to focus. You had to have all your senses on deck in order to disembark without killing everyone on board.
As everyone took their given positions and got ready for the difficult landing your senses sharpened, your face took in a stoic look of determination and you tightened your hold on the helm.
As your demeanour completely changed to one of a true captain, Loki observed curiously from the deck. He carefully stood aside, trying to stay away from everyone’s way as they paced around.
It’s not that he didn’t think you were a real captain, it’s just that he could feel it in his bones this time. It was the same when you raided his boat and walked around like you owned the vessel, in that moment he truly thought you did own it.
You were the embodiment of confidence, and he had always wanted that.
He always held his head up when he walked around the palace, not once did he cower when someone tried to intimidate him, he protected himself with a calm expression, but he didn’t often fight back.
Loki learned that keeping his cool in every situation will give him the upper hand in the end, so he held strongly to that advice, even if it failed him sometimes.
He hid behind a mask of indifference to everything. Even when Odin proclaimed that he will send him to marry away, he still held his mask and didn’t object.
He never fought back, he assumed the doors he built would take care of it. But his precious shield quickly crumbled upon realising that it was built on a fake confidence. An ephemeral castle of sand that washed away once the big wave finally hit.
He always tried to hide behind his strong demeanour, without realising that he didn’t build that demeanour enough to protect him.
So he just crumbled with his sand castle.

“Dad!” young voices approached the boat as the crew started unloading the stuff they brought.
Clint opened his arms as his son and daughter came running to embrace him, “Hello you little demons!” you smiled warmly as he twirled them around.
Everyone made their way out of the boat and into the small town they created inside the island, but you stayed behind.
Natasha turned to you before leaving with Steve, “Not coming?” she asked, although she knew the answer.
“I have something to do, I’ll come later to dinner” your reply made her nod as she left.
Now you were alone, or so you thought.
Turning around you were surprised to see Loki sitting on a barrel, you looked at him puzzled and he was quick to talk, “I don’t know where I’m supposed to go” you nodded slowly at his answer.
You pondered between sending him with the rest or keeping him here. But you decanted for the latter, you didn’t want to put more work on your crew as they spent little time with their family, and you needed help anyways.
“Fine, come with me” you gestured him to follow you as you made your way to the captain’s cabin. Loki jumped from the barrel and followed closely behind.
“I need to sort out something before dinner” you walked behind your desk and grabbed a box that was there.
You put it on the desk in front of you, “I wanted to put aside a jewel for someone, but now I can’t find it” Loki nodded as you pushed the box full of precious stones towards him, you turned and grabbed another box to put it too on the desk, “It’s either on the bottom of that box or this one”
“What does it look like?” Loki asked before dipping his hand in the box, not wanting to accidentally push the jewel further down, “It’s a blue and it has many colourful specs inside” you replied, already looking through the box in front of you.
You still had some time before dinner so you looked carefully and calmly for the gem. You also stole glances at Loki from time to time, trying to be discreet, without knowing he was doing the same.
And in a sudden coincidence you both raised your eyes to look at the other, catching each other in the act. Quickly, you lowered your gaze back to the jewels and tried to keep your eyes in check.
“What’s gonna happen after Bone Island?” Loki’s sudden question had you frowning.
“After Bone Island?”
“Yes. After you receive the money for the kidnapping”
You nodded slowly while pondering. You actually didn’t think much of it, after Loki offered to stay and you accepted you no longer thought of giving him back, so when the time comes it would certainly be a problem.
“I thought you said I wouldn’t get anything from the king” you raised your gaze to look at Loki, who shrugged in response.
“That’s what I think, but he’s unpredictable” Loki pulled a gem that looked like you described and raised it for you, you shook your head and he put it down with the pile of discarded stones on the table.
“Well, regardless of his decision, I’m not giving you back” Loki frowned at this answer.
“You don’t want to get rid of me?” he asked and you chuckled lightly, “And have Wanda decapitate me for throwing away her new helper? I think that’s a no” you answered winking at him with a smirk. Loki smiled at that. He also didn’t want to go back, he liked staying in the boat and your crew was nice to him. He felt at home.
Silence reigned in the room again as both of you went back to rummaging through the gemstones. You were about to give up your search when you heard an ‘oh’ from the man in front of you.
“Is it this one?” He raised a jewel in his slender fingers and you smiled, that was what you were looking for.
Before you knew it, your feet took you to stand next to Loki. You carefully lifted the gemstone from his hand and turned to hold it against the last rays of sunlight that came from the window.
“This is it” you whispered while carefully examining the jewel.
Suddenly a pale hand entered your line of vision. Loki had come to stand closely behind you, extending his arm to take the gem back from your light hold while still keeping it in front of you.
“It looks like a coral reef” his velvet voice whispered dangerously close to your ear, you took a short breath in before answering, “It does”
Yet your voice was so low, it was barely audible, but the prince behind you heard it perfectly. He moved his face so you could feel his breath in your neck, and you moved your own head to the side, leaving him more space.
You desperately wanted him to plant his lips on your skin. But instead, you felt Loki’s hand slide the gemstone in your pocket as he moved his face away from your neck.
You sighed softly and slowly turned to look at him. But he didn’t meet your gaze, he looked downwards, away from your eyes.
You tried to move your hand to his face, to make him look at you, but the doors of the cabin suddenly flew open.
“Captain! It’s almost dinner time!” you quickly stepped away from Loki and looked towards the door, it was Lila, Clint’s daughter, who looked at the pair of you with a curious expression.
“What did I say about barging in the captain’s cabin like that?” you asked the girl who only smiled innocently, “Not to do it because it was unacceptable” she replied and you raised an eyebrow but she only looked at you with a pout that had you smiling.
“Come on, let’s go for dinner” you gestured for Lila to move as you followed her, but before leaving you turned to Loki, who stayed behind in the same place.
“Loki?” your soft call snapped him out of his thoughts, he turned to look at you and you pointed towards the outside, “It’s almost dinner time” you gestured for him to follow you and so he did.
“Who’s him?” Lila asked curiously as both you and Loki walked down from the boat, “He’s Loki” you answered and the younger nodded, “Well I’m Lila” she introduced herself and Loki smiled at her as both of them walked behind you.
“Pleasure to meet you, young lady” Loki responded with a smile and Lila giggled, “Why do you talk like that?” the little girl asked and Loki frowned, “Like what?”
“Like a prince” she answered innocently and you chuckled, “Because he used to be” you glanced at Lila over your shoulder with a smile and she gasped, “You are a prince?!”
Her enthusiasm had Loki chuckling, “I’m not anymore” Lila looked confused but you were quick to answer as you neared the bonfire, “He’s a pirate now”
Lila nodded, although still confused, but she was quick to abandon Loki’s side to go and play with her brother.
The fire illuminated the open space in the middle of the small amount of houses. There were wooden benches around the fire for everyone to sit and chat.
You walked with Loki following you until you could sit down next to Natasha. She smiled at you knowingly upon seeing the prince behind you, you just threw her a glare to shut her up which didn’t do much to scare her.
“Where were you two?” her sly smirk made you want to punch her, “Working, unlike someone” you answered pointing with your eyes to where Steve was, that shut her up quickly as she averted her eyes to the fire.
“Anyways, have you checked on her?” Natasha nodded, already knowing who you were referring to, “She’s a little better than before, Laura said she took her for a walk through the beach this morning” her answer made you nod with a melancholic smile.
Loki glanced at you curiously, wanting to know, but the shift in your demeanour had him holding back, figuring it brought you bad memories.
“Welcome back Captain, Natasha” Laura’s voice filled your ears as you turned to look at her, “Thanks, Laura” you smiled at her as she extended cups of rum for the three of you, “You must be Loki, I’m Laura” Loki nodded with a smile as he accepted the cup she gave him, “Yes, I heard Clint talk about you” Laura chuckled at the mention of her husband, “I hope it was only good things you heard”
Loki chuckled with Laura just as Clint was arriving, “Please don’t fall for the new guy” Clint looped an arm around his wife’s waist with a smile, you made a gagging gesture while turning to Natasha, “Please keep those activities in your house” Laura blushed at your words and Clint scoffed, “With your permission Captain, I will” Natasha, Loki and you laughed as the couple retired somewhere else.
“I hate them” you murmured bringing the cup to your mouth, Natasha chuckled as she got up from the bench, “Lighten up a bit Captain” you glared at her but she just winked back at you and left, leaving only you and Loki behind.
“Captain, can I ask a question?” Loki’s question had you turning your attention back at him, “Go on” you encouraged and he looked at the fire in front of you, “How long have you all lived here?” he turned his eyes full of curiosity back at you, and you pondered for a second, “I don’t really remember, it’s been years” you answered truthfully.
You had stumbled upon the island on one of your voyages— deciding it was a good place to hide your treasures, you settled down. With time, as your crew started growing in number you started leaving people behind to make sure the things you left were safe; and before you knew it, you had a little town to take care of.
Loki tilted his head as he processed for a second, “So you weren’t born here?” you chuckled at his question, “No, I actually wasn’t born on land” you turned to look at him with a smile and you saw his eyes widen for a moment, “You were born at sea?” you nodded as answer.
Since the moment you were born, all you knew was the ocean. The infinite water land was all you needed to be happy. Unlike a grand part of your crew, you didn’t mind long journeys through the seas, on the contrary, they thrilled you.
“You love the sea, don’t you?” you grinned, “I do indeed”
You didn’t really need to say it. Loki saw it in your eyes, how they twinkled with excitement when you looked over the waters, how at ease you looked when you had your hands on the helm of the ship. It was your home.

“Where is Loki going to stay?” Wanda’s voice called your attention as dinner was finished and everyone retired for rest.
You shifted your gaze through the place until you saw Loki talking with Vision next to the slowly diminishing fire, “I didn’t think of that” you answered looking back to the redhead in front of you, “He could stay with me and Vision, we have a spare bed. Unless of course, you were thinking of taking him somewhere else” you were quick to notice the smirk with which she said the last part, but your slight glare was enough to shift her gaze away from you.
“It’s okay, you can take him with you for this couple of nights while we fix him somewhere to stay” Wanda nodded with a smile.
“Then we’re off to bed, good night Captain” she waved walking away to the pair of men, “Good night” you answered softly, although you doubted she heard you.
You watched as the three of them walked over to were Wanda and Vision stayed, and you got up from your seat once they had closed the door.
Walking to the small fire left, you covered it with sand that was on a bucket to make sure it wouldn’t latch onto some plant and burn the place down. Leaving the bucket behind once the fire was out, you made your way to have some rest too.
Your place was a little more far away than the rest making it the furthest away from the water, intentionally.
Slowly opening the door, you intended to tiptoe inside the house. But you didn’t have to, the person you didn’t want to wake was already awake.
You walked to where the older woman was, standing behind her as she watched out of the window. You put your hands on her shoulders and massaged her slightly, “Mother…” she only gave a hum in response to your whispering voice.
You sighed, you didn’t think there would be any progress today either. Reaching in the pocket of your coat you got the gem Loki found, “I brought it for you” she only stared at it when you put it in front of her, “It looks like coral reefs, I thought you would like it” yet, she didn’t even move her hand to touch it.
Your hand that rested on her shoulder slowly slid away from her as you tightened your hold on the gem. Your disappointment was obvious as you left the shiny stone on the windowsill and rapidly made your way to the door.
You couldn’t stand being in the same room as her, your guilt ate you up. You thanked the seas she wasn’t looking at you directly; her empty eyes, devoid of any emotion, made you want to throw up.
And the worst thing: it was all your fault. You couldn’t even blame anyone— it was all your doing, your decisions, your commands— you were the only one to blame.
You climbed into your ship with a somber expression, you needed rest so you walked into the cabin and went straight to the not-so-comfortable bed, discarding of your coat and boots on the way.
Normally sleep would have come to you in no time, but not even the subtle movements of the boat over the tides managed to lull you to sleep. You were tired, but you couldn’t close your eyes for long either.
You pressed your closed eyes with the palms of your hands from the exasperation, you just wanted to sleep, was it such a big of a wish?
The guilt that you wanted to leave behind at the house didn’t want to leave either; instead, it only increased with the memories that flooded your brain—your mother, the boat, the sea, the storm, the high waves, the bodies—, images so vivid that they made you jump from the bed.
The air seemed to leave your lungs without wanting to come back, you opened the window wanting the breeze to cool you down but not one single tree leave moved with the air.
You paced around the cabin, hands holding the sides of your head as you tried to calm your racing mind. For a moment you thought the overwhelming feeling that was suddenly crushing your chest would make your heart stop; until you came to a half in front of your desk, and your eyes caught sight of the discarded gems you and Loki were piling when looking for the one you wanted.
Aching to distract with something, you found yourself carefully putting the shiny stones back in the average sized boxes. The images of the raging sea in your head morphed into calm waters, monstrous waves turning into gentle ones as your thoughts shifted to the raven haired prince.
You picked the last gem to put back but the shiny stone stopped you from putting it with the rest. A rough emerald. You examined it closely, getting lost in the different shades of green that adorned it. It reminded you of Loki, he seemed to like green; when you found him he was wearing green and his eyes are green, so much so that your brain seemed to establish a correlation between the colour and him.
You wandered if he would be soundly sleeping right now. But he surely would be, unlike you.
You moved to sit down on the chair behind your desk, the air coming back to your lungs slowly as you played with the emerald in your right hand.
You inhaled and exhaled deeply as you shuffled to lean your head on the desk before you. You realised you had lost the track of time, as the first rays of sun mildly lighted the cabin.
Natasha sighed when she realised you were nowhere to be found. You hadn’t slept in your house, and you hadn’t showed up for breakfast. You always had breakfast with her in the morning so this was completely unlike you.
You were probably in the ship, that much she knew. The redhead was about to go look for you when she spotted a certain newly made pirate coming out of Wanda’s house.
She raised an eyebrow in confusion but was quick to call him over. Loki abided as he walked to her, “You’re staying with Wanda and Vision?” Loki nodded in answer to her question, “Good, do you have something to do now?” at her question Loki shook his head in denial, “Great, come with me, let’s go look for y/n”
Loki was about to question her why, but the redhead had already started walking so he just followed her. He thought she would guide him to your house but instead he realised that they were making their way to where the ship was settled.
He frowned in confusion, did you not stay where everyone did? Was it because you’re the captain, so you had to stay in the ship?
Once they reached the boat Natasha made him stay in the deck while she went to check on the cabin, so he stayed standing and wondering.
When the ship had just arrived in the island and everyone was unloading and making their way down, Loki couldn’t help but notice that you didn’t seem to want to go with them. You hesitated in every step you took, like you didn’t know where to go—something that he had come to understand was absolutely ridiculous, because in his eyes you always knew what to do.
So in his curiosity he had declined Wanda’s offer to go and rest in her house, opting to stay behind with you. He had wanted to ask you about the island, and maybe get you to talk to him about yourself.
But instead he found he couldn’t utter a word in your presence, the feeling that if he talked he’ll make you mad or upset crept inside of him, so he chose silence and observing your calm features as you looked through the gems.
“You look like a ghost” Natasha’s remark made Loki snap out of his thoughts just as you and her made your way out of the cabin.
But her comment wasn’t directed at him, “I know I do, that’s why I have a mirror, Tasha” Loki could hear the irritation in your voice. You looked like you hadn’t slept much, the dark circles below your eyes giving you away, “So when are we planning?” the redhead questioned as you put on your coat, “Later tonight” you stopped for a moment when you noticed Loki just standing there.
He didn’t know what to do as you just stared at him, “Good morning” his voice gave away his nervousness as he spoke, you nodded at him and turned to Natasha.
“I’m gonna take—” you gestured with your head to the island, “A walk, Loki is coming with me” You gestured for him to follow you as you made your way down, and although he was confused, he complied.
Loki shot Natasha a last look, looking for answers to your behaviour but she just shrugged with a smirk, so he just quickened his pace until he reached your side.
You walked past the small village and far into the island. Loki noticed it didn’t have much of special, it was a regular island: not so big, didn’t have much exotic flora… it was the perfect hideout, it was beautiful from the outside but it didn’t attract much attention, especially due to the sharp rocks that surrounded it.
“You like the place?“ your voice made him turn his gaze from the plants to your form walking in front of him, “I haven’t had time to explore in depth, but I do like it” you only hummed at his answer.
“Are you sure you don’t want to go back to your palace?” Loki could hear the smile in your question, so he chuckled lightly, “I would much rather stay here” suddenly you came to a halt and turned to look at him with curious eyes, “How so?”
He decided to keep it honest as he looked straight into your eyes, “I’m not really wanted back there” you nodded and slowly walked until you were practically invading his personal space, he looked into your eyes expectantly and their colour suddenly reminded you of the emerald you found yesterday that now rested in the pocket of your coat.
“And are you here?” he was taken aback by your question, yet he didn’t let it show into his face as he answered, “I hope so, and if I’m not, I wish to be someday” you seemed satisfied with the answer as your gaze soften slightly.
You made a move to turn away from Loki, but you found yourself unable to as the prince’s arm sneaked around your waist and pulled you to him. Suddenly you found your face inches away from his, noses almost touching as you gazed at each other’s eyes.
“Trying to seduce the captain? Bold of you” you whispered, making him smile, “I believe the captain doesn’t mind it” and he was right.
You moved your hands to his neck and pulled him by the collar until your lips finally met.
You let your hands rest in his neck as you melted into his embrace, feeling how the tiredness from not having slept enough left your body, instead filling it with a comforting warmth. Comfortable was short to describe how you felt while encased in his arms. You tangled your fingers in his hair as he pulled you even closer than before.
The world around you was no more as your lips danced with his, you didn’t want to let go even if your lungs where begging you to. But the need to breath won over your desire so, hesitantly, you pulled away from him. Once your bond was broken you were met with green eyes that seemed darker with desire, just as yours were.
Loki didn’t know what had taken over him, he didn’t know if he was drunk in the saltiness of the sea or your eyes— but he needed to fulfil his desire of having you close, desire that had been building since you put a knife to his throat and had him wishing for you to do it again, but with your hands instead.
He liked how your lips felt over his, how your hands tangled in his hair and the warmth that emanated from you when he had you close. He liked, wanted, and needed it again.
“So I wasn’t wrong, the captain doesn’t mind it” he whispered and you smiled softly, “No, not at all” Loki was about to lean in and claim another kiss when your hands in his chest stopped him. He looked at you confused, did you not like it? Had he overstepped?— but instead of drawing your knife at him, you grabbed his hand in yours and pulled him as you walked, “Come…” was the only whisper he got as an answer while you dragged him further into the lands of Sapphire.
Truth is, you didn’t know how to go on after that occurrence so the best decision that crossed your mind was to drag Loki to the place you had intended to take him in the first place, and he wasn’t opposing either— instead, manoeuvring his hand smoothly to interwind his fingers with yours, which made your heart swell slightly.
You kept walking until you reached a small water stream, not as big so as to be considered a river but enough to provide fresh water to the village. With your hands still bound together, you let the stream guide you towards it’s source, you had always loved it there.
Loki let his eyes wonder once you reached; it was a peaceful place with the heavy rocks assembled in different levels making small waterfalls. He was entranced while looking at the clear water— however, he quickly jumped out of his thoughts when you made a move to cross through the rocks towards the other side.
You turned to look at the prince when you felt his grip on your hand tighten suddenly, “What’s wrong?” you asked softly but he looked behind you to the stream, “We’re crossing to the other side?” you tilted your head at his question— was he scared?, “Yeah, there’s a fruit tree on the other side and I’m hungry” your answer had him switching his eyes from the stream to you, as if begging you not to.
You smirked— he was scared! So you decided to take advantage and toy with him a little. You let go of his hand suddenly, “You can stay here while I go for the fruit” an innocent smile adorned your face as you jumped onto one of the rocks, “No, wait!” you stopped and turned to look at the prince as he stared at you with wide eyes, “You might slip and fall” you laughed at his excuse and jumped another rock forward, “Are you scared?” you raised an eyebrow and Loki scoffed and denied with his head, “Well then come here” you gestured for him to follow you as you continued your jumping between rocks.
Loki looked with wide eyes as you kept going forward— you had completely abandoned him!. So he balled his hands in fists and decided to catch up to you, he didn’t need you to mock him anymore. He clenched his teeth as he carefully eyed the rock you had first jumped on; it wasn’t far away, he could make it, but if he didn’t calculate well he could slip and fall— that would be a disaster.
For once, he put aside calculations and decided to just go for it. He bent his knees and prepared for the jump.
No sooner had you put a foot on the other shore, you heard the sound of something heavy falling into the water. You turned rapidly and yes— Loki had fallen into the water. It wasn’t deep so there wasn’t a need for you to jump to his aid.
You stifled a laugh once you had a clear view of the prince’s face, he didn’t look happy at all, “Is the water fresh, your highness?” Loki rolled his eyes at your remark and tried to get up, only to fall back again. You laughed and made your way back to help him.
You offered your hand for him to stand, but the mischievous glint that you saw flash in his eyes told you you shouldn’t have. But it was too late to back away, Loki had already grabbed your hand in a strong hold, and before you knew it you too were drenched in water.
The sound of Loki’s laughter filled your ears as you turned to look at him with a blank face, “This betrayal shall not go unpunished” Loki’s laughter subsided as he turned his focus to you.
You jumped on him and made sure that every part of his body that previously had escaped the water was now dripping, you didn’t even realise when laughter started bubbling from you, you didn’t remember anytime you had had fun like this.
“I learned my lesson— I yield!” Loki’s demands for mercy mixed with his laughter as you pushed his shoulders to get him underwater made you finally deem your job done, “I hope that taught you something” as your laughs subsided, you became awfully aware of the position you were in: Loki below you, while you supported yourself on both your arms, at each side of his head.
You made a move to get up but the prince’s hands on your hips stopped you. You looked into his eyes while one of his hands travelled from your hip to the side of your face. You didn’t know what to do, you were absolutely frozen, hypnotised by the emeralds of his eyes. One side of your brain begged you to get up and step as far away from him as you could; while the other ached to lean in and taste his lips once again, and never let go of him.
While your thoughts were colliding, Loki’s decision was clear as day in his head. He wanted you, in fact, he needed you. You were the breath of fresh air he needed, the push he had waited for all his life to get him out of his dull prince reality. In his heart he believed you saved him, you were the storm he was wishing to sink his ship when Odin sent him away— except, you brought him up to the surface and opened him a door to a new life.
He was drunk in you, and if you were to ask him he wasn’t going to deny it. Softly, he pulled your face closer to him, and connected your lips one more time.
His kiss deepened as he moved his palm from the side of your face to the back of your neck, and you responded by grinding your hips on him, eliciting a groan from the prince. You smiled into the kiss as he used his arm to draw you to him even more.
Just as you were about to move your lips to his jaw a thought flashed through your head— anyone could come and see what both of you were doing. Loki noticed as you suddenly went stiff in his arms, he tried to look for your gaze without any success.
You coughed awkwardly as you slowly moved from on top of the prince, thanking the seas that he didn’t stop you this time. Only when you came to your knees on his side did you look into his eyes.
Loki chuckled upon seeing the blush in your face, you slightly glared at him, “Are you hungry still?” he asked as he sat up, “Well of course” you answered while rapidly standing up and offering him a hand, Loki grinned as he looked up at you, “Are you just going to sit there?” you raised a brow as you moved your hand away slowly but Loki rapidly reached up for it.
You pulled him up a little too strongly, which combined with his own strength made him collide into you, almost making you fall back. You thought you’d slip and fall again in the water, but Loki’s hand was quick to reach for your waist and stabilise you. You muttered a small thanks and turned to keep walking ahead, the prince following you with no issues this time.
Why was it that you had the urge to run away every time he touched you, even if you wanted him to touch you? You frowned at your own thoughts and picked up your pace, leaving Loki behind once again as you landed on the other shore.
“Why the rush, Captain?” Loki questioned with a smile as he reached your side, “Because I’m hungry and you’re delaying my breakfast” you groaned as you got to walking into the vast amount of trees, Loki following close behind as you finally came to a halt in front of a tree “And in compensation to that, you’re going to climb this tree and get me the fruit” you smiled at him as you leaned on the tree’s trunk.
Loki raised his face to look at the fruit that rested on the top branches, they were really out of reach and he was pretty sure he never climbed a tree that high. He lowered his gaze to look back at you with a pleasing look, but you only sent him a stern one in return, “Captain’s orders” you finished as you patted him in the back and moved to lean on another tree.
Loki’s hands rested on his hips as he exhaled heavily, he looked at you over his shoulder but you just raised an eyebrow expectantly. Just do it, he decided and moved to rest his palms on the trunk; you chuckled behind him, you didn’t think he would actually do it.
“Go on your highness, we don’t have the whole day” your mocking voice finally made him take the first step upwards. Loki breathed heavily as he slowly made his way up, cursing the world for how the hard trunk of the tree felt against his body. Yet again, one more thing he would have never though he’ll end up doing; but here he was, climbing a tree to get fruits for the pirate captain he works for.
You carefully watched how the prince made his way up from the ground, you didn’t want him falling or anything. Once he finally got a hold of the fruit you smiled, at least you’ll get your breakfast now, “Now try to get down without killing your self” you stated loudly, and for a moment regretted it as you saw the prince loose his balance slightly; you made quick steps to get close to the tree, but Loki had already stabilised himself by holding on to a branch.
You sighed in relief as the prince made his way down carefully, “There” he handed you the pair of fruits he took from their branches and you muttered a thank you, “Let’s go” you turned, making way back to the water stream.
“Your climbing was not bad, but extremely slow” you said before putting another piece of fruit into your mouth, pulling right out of your daggers pointy end. Loki frowned slightly as he turned to look at you, “Was that a test?” he questioned as slowly pieced the reason behind you making him climb a tree, “Kind of, we need to figure out your position inside the crew” Loki nodded as you handed him a piece of fruit by use of your dagger again.
“I thought I would just stay in the kitchen with Wanda” you hummed in response, “Wanda doesn’t only cook for us, she only takes care of that because she’s the only one that won’t burn my ship down while trying to make a meal” Loki chuckled at your response, “So she has another position?” he asked curiously.
“Inventory, she has great memory for that. But she’s also a great fighter” you answered getting up from nest to the prince, now standing a little far in front of him, “I was thinking of putting you on lookout duty in the crow’s nest with Clint, but you suck at climbing so that would be a problem” you stated making him cringe slightly at the mention of his horrible climbing skills.
“How good are you with a sword?” your question caught him off-guard but he only shrugged in response, “How about fighting in general? Rumour says you’re good with knifes” Loki nodded; it was true, he didn’t want to boost but he was pretty skilled with daggers.
“I do prefer them over swords” he answered and you moved to sit back next to him, “So you really are not going to discard me once you get the money?” you moved your gaze aside to look at him but he had his eyes on the water, “I made a deal with you and as long as you’re willing to keep your word, I’ll keep mine” Loki only nodded making you sigh.
You put your palm below his chin and softly turned him to look at you, “You’re part of my crew now, part of my family, and I don’t abandon my family” you spoke sincerely, you didn’t know if he’ll believe you but you only said the truth.
The crew, the town, the ship… they were everything you had, and you were willing to give up your life for them; now Loki was part of all of it too. You didn’t know if it was because you were somehow attracted to him, or because now he was part of your ‘family’, but you were not going to leave him behind.
You moved your hand away from his face and got a hold of his hand instead, pulling him to stand with you, “There’s probably things to do so let’s go” you started walking to make your way to the other shore again when you realised you couldn’t hear the prince’s steps behind you, you turned to look at him, “Well?” you questioned as he just looked at you, suddenly he broke into a radiant smile, “Yes, Captain” was all he said before following you.
Silence reigned between both of you as you made your way back to the small village, but there was not much to be said. Loki wanted to thank you, for everything you were doing for him: for raiding his ship, kidnapping him, letting him stay with you, welcoming him into your family… but something told him you already knew that.
His heart felt at home with you here, and he wanted to experience the happiness that came with it for many days more. He wanted to spend more time with the people of the town, getting to know them, letting them get to know him, he wanted to sail in your ship and embark in the pirate adventures he read about in books, he wanted to smell the saltiness of the sea first thing in the morning… and he wanted to see more of you.
Loki kept his eyes fixed on you as you entered the small village and smiled lightly whenever someone would greet you, kids especially brightening as you made your presence known, and Loki realised, he’ll give up anything to be part of this small piece of world that you created.
You turned to look at him once you came to a halt in front of what seemed to be an armoury with a moderate training ground, “Now this is a test, come” Loki only nodded as you led him inside, you wanted to asses his fighting skills.
“Busy?” you asked the tall blonde man that had his back to you, Steve turned to face you with a smile, “Not at all Captain” “Good, I want you to spar with Loki” you crossed your arms while walking around and having a look at the weapons, Steve glanced at Loki and back at your wandering form to answer, “Sure, with weapons?” you nodded and made your way to the training ground where you where going to wait for the pair of men.
Steve smiled at Loki and handed him one of the swords he had grabbed, “It’s just assessment, just give it your best and don’t worry about it” Steve reassured the prince upon seeing the unsure look on his face. Loki exhaled heavily but made his way out with the blonde nonetheless.
The sound of clanking swords filled the training grounds as you watched both men intently. Steve was quick with his attacks, recovering easily and throwing back at the prince with a lot of strength; surprisingly to you, Loki was holding himself quite well. He wasn’t the best sword fighter, that much you knew, but he was better that what you had inferred before. You didn’t think that he was horrible at it for a fact, you just didn’t think he would be able to put up front against Steve. Yet, the prince held himself surprisingly well; he blocked Steve’s attacks and launched back at him with everything he had, he was putting in a lot of effort and that was obvious to you in the way he clenched his jaw or the way a frown adorned his forehead as he focused on dodging Steve’s sword or the way that his hand has such a strong grip on the sword’s handle that even at your distance you could see how his veins marked his skin.
By the time you had deemed they did enough Loki was exhausted, breathing heavily with his hands on his knees. You waved Steve over to where you were sitting and he turned to give Loki a final look, “Take a rest, you did well” yet the prince couldn’t even see the almost amused look on the blonde’s face as he immediately plummeted to the ground.
Steve let the sword he was holding fall to the ground as he made his way to stand in front of you, “So what do you say?” you asked as you moved your gaze that was previously on the prince to your best swordsman so far, “He’s absolutely fine to me, I think he would manage himself better with other weapons but he’s good” Steve took a moment to look at Loki over his shoulder, the latter still sitting on the ground before looking back at you, “I’m guessing he got training at the palace, given that he’s a prince and all that” you hummed at his opinion, not far from the one you had already formed on your own.
“What would you say if I put him to work with you” you looked at expectantly, waiting for an answer, he sighed and awkwardly rubbed his neck, “I don’t know, with his skill set I don’t think I’ll have to look after him but I think it’s soon to tell…” you nodded and got up, “Well thank you for your service, I guess I’m gonna have to think about it” Steve gave you a nod as you walked towards the fallen prince.
You wanted to find Loki a role that would match him, something that would be comfortable for him to do; but you also wanted your crew to be comfortable around him, most of the roles were covered and you didn’t want to just throw him to do something random. You came to a halt next to his laying form and smirked when he looked up at you, “Comfortable down there, your highness?” he scoffed and rapidly moved to get up to direct himself at you, “What now?” your features softened as you could visibly see his exhaustion, “You can take a rest for the day, you did enough for me” you already made him fall in a river, climb a tree and spar with Steve, it was enough.
Loki nodded before you both walked back into the armoury to leave the weapon and make your way further into the village, “I’ll see you tonight” you spoke once you came to a halt in front of Wanda and Vision’s door, Loki tilted his head with a confused look “Tonight?” you nodded, “For the planning” you reminded him and the words you had with Natasha that morning replayed in his head as he muttered a soft ‘ah’, you furrowed your eyebrows at his expression and he was quick to clarify, “I didn’t think I was allowed to go there” he spoke in a low voice and you smiled lightly, “It’s for all the crew, and you’re part of it so you’re expected to be there” you spoke softly and for a moment you thought you saw a twinkle in his eyes that flashed away rapidly as he broke into a smile, “I’ll be there then” you smiled at his response and gave him a nod before you turned to make your way to the beach shore, awfully aware of Loki’s eyes on your back.
“We need to get more gunpowder” Steve’s voice boomed through the cabin making everyone go quiet and turn to look at you, you sighed and looked directly at the blonde before asking, “How much do we have” you asked sternly, “Not enough if we are to encounter a whole fleet” he stated and you nodded.
“We betted that the royal ship would have enough gunpowder for us to steal but it didn’t” Natasha added and Sam raised from his seat to stand next to Steve, “What if we visit Bucky and take some from him, he would definitely have enough ready and waiting” Steve nodded at the offer but Wanda was quick to retaliate, “Yes but that may not leave us enough time to reach Bone Island on time for the seventh day” Vision hummed at her observation, “We have to take into account the time from here to Moonlight City if we want to go to Bucky, and how much that would affect our original route towards Bone Island”
Loki observed in silence from his seat as everyone engaged in the conversation. All of them were making great points; so much so that when he thought he had a clear idea to present, someone will come up with a new point of view that he also had to take into account. As Tony was explaining that he and Bruce had to make a couple repairs on the ship, Loki turned his gaze to you. You were listening intently to everyone from behind your desk, making a remark when you deemed necessary or stopping a conversation when you thought it got a little bit too heated.
And for a moment he was entranced. Your gaze was filled with your seriousness and your voice was authoritarian every time you said something— all so different from how you were with him during the day, it was almost a different person. No smiles, smirks or jokes— just true leadership framing your face.
“And what do you think?” Loki was snapped out of his thoughts when he noticed Clint directing his question at him, as he moved his gaze from you and looked around he realised everyone’s eyes on him. Shifting uncomfortably below everyone’s gazes Loki got ready to give voice to his thoughts, but— what should he say? Do a direct route to Bone Island without stops for supplies and risk encountering an enemy larger in number? Make a stop in Moonlight City and risk loosing time?— Loki’s thoughts raced as he pondered what to say, every point he had made in his head suddenly felt to ridiculous to share right now; he didn’t want to make a fool out of himself, especially in front of you.
You. He eyed you slightly and found your gaze was already on him, you were patiently waiting for his answer. Your eyes were expectant but it didn’t seem like you were rushing him to talk, you were calm as you waited for his voice to make itself known and that on its own gave him some confidence. He turned to look at everyone and noticed Wanda and Vision giving him reassuring smiles, the final push he needed to talk, “It might take a little more effort from everyone, but you could make the crossing from here to Moonlight City in a day or less, get the supplies quickly and make way to Bone Island in a day” Loki spoke in low but firm voice, and just when he thought everyone would just brush over his contribution Bruce spoke up, “That might work, if me and Tony are able to finish the reparations before tomorrow’s sunset we could make way for Moonlight City at night, we’ll arrive at nighttime, pick up the supplies and leave” Tony next to him nodded, although skeptically.
Natasha, who was standing next to you, lowered her form so she could speak in your ear and you hummed at whatever she said, “Okay” you finally spoke and everyone turned to you for the final decision, “Tony and Bruce fix anything that you have to fix starting tonight” the pair nodded upon your statement, it wasn’t rare for them to stay awake during the night so it wasn’t a problem, “We sail tomorrow at sunset, we won’t stop on Moonlight City” everyone stiffened at the final sentence but you continued nonetheless, “I know I’m asking you to risk too much but we don’t have much time, what we have right now has to be enough and we shall hope that luck is on our side” you finished sternly.
Everyone was silent for a moment, processing the information. The firsts to stand up where Tony and Bruce, “We’re gonna get to work” Tony stated and you nodded dismissing them from the room. As they left Wanda and Vision stood up, “Captain, we would like to start organising supplies for the voyage” Vision spoke and Wanda nodded in affirmation, “You can go” you dismissed and they were quick to leave the room.
For a moment nobody else stood up, and you guessed the ones left would be the ones to complain about the decision. But Clint stood up and talked, “I would like to go help Tony and Bruce, to make the process quicker” you nodded and he made his way out of the cabin. Sam and Steve sighed and Steve took the initiative to talk, “We’re going to check all the weaponry we have left and get everything ready, but I think we might need more people” you hummed, “Take as much as you deem necessary” you spoke finally and they both nodded before making their way out.
“That went better than I thought” Natasha voiced once it was only you, her and Loki in the room, “Yeah, I thought Steve and Sam would fight back on it” you stated sitting more comfortably on your chair, “I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t go against your orders” Natasha said before letting her eyes fall on Loki.
He was the last one on the room, and he was awfully aware of if. Natasha looked at him expectantly and he suddenly jolted up from his place, making you turn your head to him in surprise, “I— I would like to— uhm—” Loki suddenly felt minuscule as you and Natasha just stared at him, he didn’t know what to say.
To top it off even more, Natasha chuckled at his behaviour before turning to you. Loki thought that was it— Natasha would tell you how pathetic he was, and how he didn’t deserve to be there, and that the whole situation was his fault, and— “I’m off to asses the crew” that was all the redhead said to you before leaving the cabin, giving Loki one last amused look.
The cabin’s door closed behind Natasha and Loki turned to look at you, he swallowed hard and prepared to talk but you spoke first, “It is not your fault” your soft voice caught him off guard, he was confused as you stood up from your chair and made your way to him.
Loki looked at you with a puzzled expression as you stood in front of him, “This—” you gestured around the room, “—is not your fault, it’s mine” you looked at him with an almost apologetic look and Loki felt a sudden urge to pull you to him and reassure you that it wasn’t your fault. It was his; he was the one that wished for for freedom, he was the one that wished to escape Odin and his dull life, he was the one that involuntarily invoked this outcome.
“It’s not” he spoke simply although there was so much more roaming his brain that he wanted to say instead, “But it is” you lowered your head slightly and Loki was quick to lift it up with his hands on both sides of your face, “But it’s not” he whispered getting close to you until your foreheads were touching, “How could it not be” you could feel his breath on yours as your lips were about to touch, “I begged the skies for this, I’m the one to blame” you couldn’t say one more word as his lips were already upon yours.
It was a soft and sweet kiss, one that calmed your nerves and relaxed your muscles. It wasn’t a new feeling to you, both other times he had kissed you felt the same— at peace. Nothing else was there, and nothing else you could feel, only his lips.
Your eyes fluttered open as you felt his mouth retract from yours, “I could get used to this” Loki smiled at your words.

˗ˏˋ A SMOOTH SEA NEVER MADE A SKILFUL SAILOR — CHAPTER I ; RUNAWAY PRINCE
You watched with a blank expression as the water engulfed the lavish ship, next to it a small boat carrying its crew did the same as you.
You didn’t hurt a single one of them (well, maybe you did hit a couple in the head, but it wasn’t anything major), they weren’t your main goal. The ship also didn’t matter anymore, they could build more.
You wanted the gold, the riches they carried. Yet, you got a big surprise when you realised that they carried very much less than what you expected.
It just didn’t make sense to you. The ship was supposed to be of royal property, but even if it was fancier than many others, it didn’t seem as expensive as the ones the royal family usually traveled in.
They were making a trip to a neighbouring kingdom, to visit you guessed. Normally, they would carry exceeding amounts of goods to gift; yet, this vessel seemed to carry way to little. Only 3 middle-sized chests of jewellery, 5 of fabrics, and some furniture. And also a prince.
You just hoped your last minute plan would work.
A frown adorned your face as you turned around from the scene. On your own boat your crew was running around, preparing to follow another route.
Natasha, your right hand, approached you until she was standing next to you, watching over the people working.
“The prisoner wants to talk with you” you scoffed and turned your gaze to her, “Well then tell him to keep his pretty mouth shut, ‘cause I don’t want to talk with him” Natasha rolled her eyes and continued, “I can’t” she shrugged.
You frowned in confusion, “What do you mean you can’t?” “He asked for a parlay”.
You laughed at that, “And what else does our precious prince want?” you asked sarcastically, throwing your hands in the air. Natasha smirked as she lightly shook her head, “Just go and talk with him, he seemed like he knew something”
“Yeah, well I hope he knows that I’m gonna throw him to the sharks if he wastes my time” you sighed as you made your way down to the only occupied cell in the ship.
You walked until you were in front of the cell, carefully eyeing the prince you had kidnapped.
“Well, parlay then” you stated which made him get up from his uncomfortable seat and walk to the bars.
You had expected he would be yelling in indignation, demanding for you to let him go. Yet he was calm, he almost seemed peaceful.
You had heard stories about him, he wasn’t the best fighter although he was pretty skilled with knives. But he didn’t look like he wanted to fight; he hadn’t even resisted much when he was dragged out of the cabin of his royal boat and into the cell of yours.
“You’re committing a mistake” his statement made you want to laugh, he really just wanted to waste your time “Well, what’s new, right? If that is all, I’m going to leave” you started walking away when he called again.
“Captain, you’ll get nothing from the king” you turned to look at him the best that the metal bars let you, you could see his green eyes devoid of any emotion— did he not understand the situation he was in? “And then what? He’ll let you stay imprisoned by the dirty pirates he so much loathes? Or will he let me kill you?”
You didn’t let him answer as you made your way up to the deck.
You had given a message and a chest to the crew of the royal ship once they were settled in their small boat, and you hoped they would deliver them before you lost your patience and made the emerald prince walk the plank.
“Tell his majesty king Odin” you made a bow as you named him, which made Natasha chuckle slightly as she took her place next to you, “That I have his prince” with a devilish smirk you pointed to the raven haired man next to you, held by two of you swordsmen, “And I want that chest filled with those shiny golden coins of your king, or else I’ll make dinner for sharks and the main course will be his son” some of the men on the small boat shivered slightly at the tone of your voice, “I’ll be arriving on Bone Island in seven days and I expect my gold by then, you better not bring a fleet or anything like that. I’ll give him to you unharmed unless I have to pull out my sword; because then I’ll hand him to you in pieces” you gestured for everyone to move, ignoring the protests from the men below.
You didn’t want it to come to that, it really wasn’t in your agenda to kidnap a prince. But you had gotten desperate. You had spent weeks waiting to raid that vessel, expecting to find vast amounts of goods; yet you found almost nothing.
You slammed shut the door of your cabin as you entered, walking directly to the bed. Letting yourself fall into the sheets as you sighed.
This was a disaster. If it ends bad, you’ll be putting everyone in unnecessary danger.
It was a spontaneous decision; you saw the raven haired man and quickly recognised him as Prince Loki, you saw an opportunity and you took it. But if the king decides to arrive ready for battle, regardless of your condition, you may have little chances of getting out alive.
On the other hand, if this ends well; you’ll be getting a great sum of gold, the chest that you gave them was quite big.
“Captain” Natasha barged through the door, you sighed in annoyance and supported yourself in your elbows to look at her, “What?” you questioned irritated, “What did you get out of the prisoner?” you rolled your eyes and let yourself fall back on the bed.
“Nothing, he just wasted my time” you replied putting your arm over your eyes, then you realised the room was actually dark. It was nighttime already.
Natasha seemed to notice too as she moved to light the various candles around the cabin, “Did you actually talk with him or did you just make him shut up and then left?”
“Natasha, just let me be please” you whispered as you turned on your side to face away from the redhead, she sighed heavily, “Y/n, please, go talk to him” “Why do you want me to talk with him so badly?” you once again turned to look at your right hand, irritated by her pressing.
Natasha and you had been friends for a long time, bonding over your passion for the deep waters and the gushing wind. If there was someone who could read you, it was her. She knew you were worried of the outcome of your decision, and she wanted to help.
The redhead walked until she sat next to you on the sheets, “When you were talking with the people in his boat, he almost looked amused” she started, pulling your arm away from your face with her hands, “And then you started giving orders around, he seemed curious” you arched an eyebrow in question, “Where are you going with all of this?” you asked and she took a moment to look to the side and then back at you.
“He looks calm regarding the whole situation, it’s like he didn’t want to be there” you frowned in confusion. You hadn’t had time to carefully asses your prisoner in the moment, you hadn’t noticed any of what she said; yet again, maybe you wouldn’t have anyways, Natasha had always been the more observant to details.
You moved to sit next to her on the edge, “So you’re implying he wants to be here?” you asked and Natasha nodded, “Maybe he wants something, we could come to a deal” her answer got you thinking.
What could Loki want that pirates could get? Did he have a treasure he wanted to look for? Why was he on the ship and if he didn’t want to be there? Looking back you did notice he had put little to no resistance when being dragged to your boat. He hadn’t yelled, thrashed or fought, even though he was capable of doing so.
You got up from the bed and walked to the desk where a map was displayed, you leaned on the edge and crossed your arms. Natasha raised an eyebrow, waiting for your answer, “Is dinner ready?” you asked which made the redhead frown, nevertheless she nodded, “Last time I checked Wanda was about to finish” you hummed, “Maybe we should give our prince a welcoming dinner”
Loki moved his head when he heard the jingling of keys approach. He got up from the uncomfortable wooden plank he was laying in when the redhead came into view.
He observed her carefully as she opened the door of the cell with the key in her right hand, “You’re having dinner with the captain” she stated leaving the door open for the prince to move out, “Why?” Loki ventured to ask.
He knew he shouldn’t. He had read enough about life at sea to know he shouldn’t oppose a direct order from the captain, especially now that he’s a prisoner. Natasha raised her eyebrow and looked at him sternly, “Because the captain said so, now move” she demanded harshly.
He inferred the redhead was your right hand from how she gave orders after you had retired somewhere else when you had raided his ship, so he shouldn’t oppose her either.
Loki walked until he was out of the cell and next to Natasha, she threw him a final stern look before closing the cell and grabbing him by the arm.
As they walked out to the main deck, Loki scanned his surroundings. Everyone they passed was immersed on their own work, whether it was cleaning the wooden floor or polishing weapons.
He noticed how the majority of your crew was made out of men, he had barely seen any other women apart from you and Natasha. Loki thought it was peculiar, female pirates weren’t unheard of but there weren’t many.
Natasha guided him through the deck and towards your cabin. The candles could be seen lighting the room through the blurry glass of the small windows. The redhead opened the door for Loki and shoved him inside. He turned to her, not having appreciated the push but she had already closed the door on his face.
“You can take a seat” your calm voice spoke from behind him. Loki turned to look at your sitting form behind the table where dinner was set, he scanned the various plates of meats and vegetables and moved to take a seat opposite of you.
He watched intently as you poured what seemed to be wine in a golden goblet and extended it for him to grab. He moved his eyes between the goblet and your face, pondering if he should take it, but a raise from your eyebrow had him quickly reaching out for it.
As Loki took the goblet closer to his lips you reached to grab some grapes from the fruit platter to then sit more comfortably on the chair; looking back at the prince, you noticed he wasn’t eating anything, “Go on, you can eat” your soft encouragement had him reaching to put small portions of food in his plate and start eating, even if he didn’t really have the appetite.
“You know, I had eyes on your ship for some time before it sailed” you started making him raise his eyes from his plate to you, “One would think a royal ship is full of riches, but yours wasn’t” you paused to put a grape in your mouth, you didn’t move your gaze from the prince as you chewed and swallowed the small fruit, “Why” you didn’t ask him, you demanded an answer, and that was clear to Loki in the stern tone of your voice.
Your presence was imposing since the moment he entered the cabin. Loki didn’t forget how your aura was threatening and authoritarian when you raided his ship, you carried yourself with a confidence that overpowered everyone’s bravery, and that sheer action made it seem impossible to fight you and come out victorious. You were calm in front of him, no matter how trained he was, you had the control.
Now the stories about you made sense to the prince. You didn’t need a whole fleet to dominate the waters, just your presence was enough to make everyone succumb to your rule.
You were just what he needed in the moment.
“My father, the king, didn’t deem it necessary to carry so many things” he answered and you nodded lightly, “Why the furniture” your question made him frown, “I beg your pardon?” you shrugged, “The furniture, why where you carrying furniture” you explained, “As gift to the neighbouring kingdom” he replied and you tilted your head for a moment.
“That’s not true” he scoffed, “Are you calling me a liar” you smiled innocently, “Not necessarily, but you’re in my ship, you should know better than to lie to the captain” he rolled his eyes and dropped the silver fork in his hand, “I don’t know about pirate etiquette”
You rose from your seat with a dark look, grabbing the silver knife set next to your own plate, “I’m sure we could fix that” you replied walking around the table and closer to the prince.
Loki felt the danger in each step you took closer to him. But he masked it and refused to move his eyes from yours as you approached him. Once next to him, you harshly grabbed his jaw with a hand and planted the knife against his throat with the other. Loki couldn’t help but hiss at the contact of the cold metal with his skin.
You looked directly into his eyes with a somber expression, “Listen well your highness. I don’t like playing games, I have no issue cutting your throat right now, it wouldn’t be the first time a kill a member of high society” you whispered dangerously as you leaned in to talk closer to his ear, “So don’t lie to me again or I will give you a final you may not really like”
The tension only increased as you gripped his jaw tighter, which in return made Loki harden his hold on the chair he was sitting on. He could feel your breath in his neck and he found himself unconsciously wishing for you to plant your lips there.
Even in the situation that you were, even if you could cut his throat any second. He wasn’t going to deny your beauty, you were a gem of the sea and no one could oppose that fact, but he definitely could try to deny the attraction he felt when he first put his eyes on you.
On the other hand, you found yourself enjoying the moment. You always liked playing with men like this, it was amusing to you when they lost the control they so much liked. It had been a long time since you involved yourself romantically with anyone, and the pale skin of the prince seemed to call for your touch, your brain demanding of you to respond. He was extremely good looking, he was a prince at the end of the day; but you held back.
“Have I made my self clear?” you asked in a whisper maybe a little more closer to his earlobe than you should have, Loki nodded slowly and you pulled away.
You gave his eyes a last look before turning back and going to your seat. You noticed his pupils, darker than before, but you said nothing because you guessed yours were the same.
“Then talk, why the furniture” you said after making yourself comfortable once again in your chair, Loki coughed lightly which had you smirking, “For my stay” his answer made you raise an eyebrow in question, “Why would you need furniture for your stay?” you asked curiously, “Because I wasn’t going to come back” this just confused you even more, “Explain yourself”
Loki sighed and looked back at you, “I’m supposed to get married to the princess of the neighbouring kingdom” you nodded slowly in reply, that explained the furniture, “But you don’t want to” you replied, “It’s a marriage of convenience, it’s common” “Doesn’t mean that you want it”
He looked aside. It’s true, he didn’t want to get married, but Odin was aching to get rid of him so he didn’t have a chance at protest. He didn’t hold resentment against the princess, she was everything anyone would want; intelligent and beautiful, but he didn’t find it in his heart to love her more than just a friend.
He desperately found himself wishing for a sea storm to drown the ship and him in it, no longer being able to put up with his father’s mistreatment. If he died would Odin even hold a funeral for him?
You sighed when he averted his eyes from you. Now you felt bad for him, having to marry an unknown person that he may not even love just because his title said so, you couldn’t even imagine how depressing of a live that would be.
“I could offer you a deal” your words made him perk up to listen attentively, he nodded for you to continue “Raiding your ship and finding nothing in it cost me a lot” you started and he listened carefully, “You know the royal ships that carry the most expensive goods always take hidden routes” Loki nodded at this information.
It was to make sure they wouldn’t get raided. Not only did they take unusual and different routes every time, they were also camouflaged, swapped for cheap-looking boats to avoid suspicions.
“I want to know the routes and the ships” you said. Loki knew of a few vessels set to sail during the next few months but he wasn’t going to disclose that information now.
He had to prove himself useful to you, if he had just given you everything he knew you would have no problem throwing him off the deck and into the shark infested waters, “What will I get in return” he leaned in placing his elbows in the table to prop his chin in his intertwined hands, you smirked, “Going back to your very loving father” Loki cringed at his mention making you chuckle, “Well what could you want?” you asked.
Loki pondered. He didn’t want to go back to Odin, he would only send him again to marry. Leaving him somewhere along the way wasn’t an option either, they would be looking for him. After some minutes of thinking he finally opened his mouth to answer.
“I want to stay here in your ship, I want a place in your crew”

Loki woke up as someone abruptly entered the room he was assigned, “Come on! Get up, the sun’s about to rise!” an unknown female voice screamed next to his bed.
Loki turned to see a redhead woman looking extremely pissed. It wasn’t Natasha, no, he hadn’t seen this one yesterday.
“Move! What are you looking at?!” she yelled when Loki made no movement to get out of bed.
“Sorry” he said getting up finally, she scoffed, “There’s a lot to do, follow me”
As they both walked through the vessel, Loki reminisced on the night before. You had agreed to him staying in your boat, and called Natasha to assign him a spare room.
“You… want to stay here?” you asked incredulously as you looked at him with narrowed eyes. Loki almost felt embarrassed at his request. But it was what he wanted, and he wasn’t going to back down now.
“Yes” he replied and you laughed, Loki frowned at your response, “Oh my! Our gracious prince wants to be a pirate!” You giggled and mocked him a little more, you really enjoyed yourself, “Fine, but do you even know anything about life at sea?” you asked seeming like you were back at mocking him, but Loki could see something genuine in your eyes.
“I haven’t spent much time at sea. I know the basics but I am quick to learn” you nodded at his response, no more giggles or smiles.
You got up from your chair and made your way to him. Loki thought you would put another knife to his throat and for a moment he almost flinched, but he was surprised to feel a soft touch in his cheek instead. You had put your hand on the side of his face and gently guided him to look up at you, “You’re not made for this life, but you could try and we’ll see how much you last”
As your hand dropped from his cheek and you made your way to the door Loki could only turn slightly to look at you, “You can finish dinner, I’ll talk with Natasha about settling you”
Loki observed the horizon through the small window of the kitchen, the sun was just rising.
He was too caught up in his haze when he felt something impact with the back of his head, turning he was a potato in the floor and the redheaded woman fuming behind him, “I’ve called you three times!” she seethed at him and Loki looked down apologetically.
She sighed heavily and gestured for him to take a seat in front of her. Loki took a seat in the small stool as the woman handed him a knife and gestured to the barrel full of potatoes next to him, “Get to it” she said, “Throw the peels in this bucket then clean the potatoes in the water and throw them in that plate”
Not wanting to piss her off more, Loki grabbed one of the vegetables and started peeling it. It couldn’t be that difficult, he had peeled apples before, this should be the same.
“You’re doing it wrong” her voice made him stop suddenly and look at her confused. The redhead sighed and took the potato and the knife from him, “You’re peeling it but your taking too much of the potato in the process, you have to do it like this to not waste the food” she proceeded to peel it rapidly, showing him how the peel was thin and didn’t have too much traces of the vegetable on it.
Loki nodded, “Okay” he then proceeded to grab another potato and do the same she showed him, this time she didn’t stop him and he took it as a cue to continue, “My name is Wanda” she finally said making Loki look up at her, “I’m Loki” he answered and she nodded with a soft smile, “Keep peeling those” she got up from the chair and made her way out of the kitchen, leaving him alone.
Were all the women in this ship scary like this? As Loki peeled the potatoes he couldn’t help but recall his time in the castle, he used to play around the kitchen with his brother when he was young, yet never did he think he’ll end up working in one. It was an oddly calm activity, even if his hands were numbing because of the cold water.
Wanda came back into the kitchen and got to peel potatoes in front of Loki, “Can I ask where the ship is headed?” Loki asked while still peeling, Wanda raised her gaze to him and then returned it to the vegetable in her hand, “We’re going back to Sapphire” she replied softly, “Sapphire? Where’s that?” he was a curious person by nature, now he needed to know, “Hidden, so nobody goes there. It’s an island” “Your home?” Wanda nodded with a smile, “Yes, our home, It’s a beautiful place, you’ll love it” the twinkle in her eyes as she moved her gaze to the prince told him that she wasn’t lying, she seemed so happy to go back.
“Well, if it isn’t our local prince cutting potatoes” your voice sounded through the room as you leaned on the door frame, “Is it like a new royal activity?” the smirk on your face made it clear you were just joking, “Don’t listen to her, she’s like that” Wanda muttered to Loki who smiled back at her, “Oh wow! My own crew against me!” you feigned offence bringing a hand to your chest, Wanda rolled her eyes, “Could I have my tea please?” you asked taking a seat in a nearby chair, “Right now” Wanda got up making her way around the kitchen to prepare your tea.
“So, are you having fun?” you asked, this time genuinely so Wanda didn’t scold you, “It’s fine” Loki answered and you nodded.
Suddenly the image from yesterday flashed through your mind and had you averting your eyes to the side. Today he wasn’t wearing the full prince attire, opting for removing the heavy stuff. You could see the skin of his neck thanks to the unbuttoned shirt and you couldn’t help but remember how you wanted to kiss it the night before.
“There, done” Wanda handed you a cup of tea, making you snap out of your daze. “Thanks” you answered grabbing it and making your way to the deck.
It was early morning, the sun in the process of lighting the way. You walked the stairs of the quarterdeck and took your place behind the helm. You observed the waters in front of you as you reached in your pocket for your compass. You were headed the right way.
You sipped your tea as you took control of the wheel in front of you. This is the time of day that you loved most, when the sun just woke up and is slowly lighting up the world, it gave the water a mystical look. You basked in the peaceful silence as everyone was yet to come up and carry on their work on the main deck.
But your silence was quickly interrupted by your right hand as she walked the stairs and moved to stand neat to you, “How’s the prince doing?” she asked and you shrugged, “He’s cutting potatoes with Wanda” Natasha stifled a laugh, “Well that must have been a sight to see” “Yeah” you giggled with her.
“He’s handsome, isn’t he” she questioned moving to lean on the wooden handrail in front of you, “What?” you asked incredulously. Natasha only smirked, “I mean he is, isn’t he?” her pressing made your eye twitch slightly, something that always happened when you got annoyed.
“What are you talking about?” you asked, “Oh come on! Haven’t you though of… you know, with him” she gestured towards the side with her face, and you’re eye twitched again, “Like you and Steve do in every corner of my ship?”
Your question had Natasha’s face heating up, you laughed at her reaction as she came closer to slap you in the shoulder, “We don’t!” she was quick to deny but you only hummed mockingly, “No need to lie Tasha, I heard you. In fact, everyone on the boat probably heard too” you giggled and she turned redder than she already was.
“It’s a great way to blow off some steam, you should try” she said once she had regained her composure, you scoffed, “Yeah? With who? Sam? Bruce?” you asked sarcastically and Natasha rolled her eyes, “Loki’s pretty decent” “He’s a prince” “So what?” “He’s also my prisoner” “Not anymore” “Well, now he’s my worker” “And which rule says you can’t have sex with your worker who used to be your prisoner and also happens to be a runaway prince?”
You looked at her stoically, “Tasha, no” she sighed heavily, “Come on, I know you like him” she whispered coming coming to stand in front of you with the wheel separating both of you “I don’t” you were quick to deny, “You do” she finished with a smile and you rolled your eyes, there was no arguing with her.
“You can just do it to blow off some steam, cause you need a lot of that” she said making her way to the stairs slowly, “Someday I might just throw Steve off the deck and see how you manage yourself without your daily steam blower” the redhead grinned looking back, “You wouldn’t because then I would be insufferable and you have little to no patience” you nodded with a smirk, “See Tasha, this is why you’re my right hand and not one of those brainless idiots” Natasha laughed at that and made her way down just as Clint was walking up.
“Who’s a brainless idiot?” He asked and you shrugged, “Probably you” he rolled his eyes at your answer.
The sun was setting as you moved down to the larder in search of some much needed rum. Your day was boring, just like the majority of times that you made your way back to Sapphire, the crossing wasn’t very eventful to say the least.
You grabbed the glass bottle and turned to make your way out when you noticed an unknown moving thing from the corner of your eye. You moved closer to the wooden boxes and behind them you saw something moving, or more like someone.
“Loki?” you asked softly, watching how the emerald prince assembled vegetables in a big plate.
He turned to look at you, “Hello Captain, it’s for dinner” he said pointing to the vegetables, you hummed, “Really, what are you making?” he got up from his crouching position and placed the plate on top of a pile of crates, “Wanda said she was making soup” he answered and you nodded, he seemed to adapt well.
You noticed how his hair sticked to his forehead from the sweat, you guessed it was probably very uncomfortable. So you reached in your pocket and pulled up a cloth you used to use to tie your hair, “Let me help you with that” you gestured for him to get closer and he did, confusion written in his face.
You reached putting your hands softly in his cheeks and pulled his head down slightly. You started arranging the cloth so it held back his hair to stop it from getting in his face. You felt his eyes on your form as you carried on, but you didn’t dare look back at him. Since yesterday you had this desire to kiss him and if you looked at him in this position you risked giving in.
Finally you got a step closer to tie it behind his neck, close enough that if you tilted his face slightly you could place your lips on his. Once done you pulled your hands back although they seemed to linger a little longer than they should.
“There you go” you whispered and he hummed, “Now you look like a real pirate” you said with smirk that made him give you another one in return.
“Loki!” you heard Wanda’s voice echo from upstairs, yet you didn’t cut eye contact with the prince, “You should go before she comes down” the whisper that escaped your lips had Loki’s gaze moving rapidly to them, before he snapped back to your eyes, “Yeah” his gaze lingered for a couple more seconds before he grabbed the plate and left.
Loki walked back to the kitchen where Wanda was getting ready to preparer dinner, “You can wash them over there” she pointed to a bucket with clean water and Loki didn’t waste time to carry on his task.
As he washed the vegetables Loki replayed your encounter. He was already wishing for your touch after the dinner on the first night, and this occurrence only made him desire it more. He liked how your hands felt on him, he liked the way you looked at him. He really liked everything about you.
The whole time you were fixing his hair he found himself wanting to pull you closer. He had to put all his strength into holding his hands back, which itched to grab you by the waist and slam you to him.
“You done?” Wanda asked from behind him, “Huh? Oh, yeah I am” he got up with the plate and made his way to plant it next to Wanda.
“Is that the captain’s?” she asked gesturing to his head, Loki found himself running his hand softly over the cloth you had assembled in his head, “Uh—yeah, she gave it to me” he answered.
Wanda smiled knowingly, she hummed and turned to cut the vegetables, “What?” Loki asked puzzled, “Nothing, nothing” the redhead continued her task, “What do I do now?” Wanda looked around for a moment and then back at Loki, “There’s not much to do, you can take a small break until dinner” Loki nodded with a smile and made his way to sit on the spare chair you had used that morning.
The prince drowned in his thoughts while waiting for the redhead to give him instructions.
He was still pondering if this was the right decision to make. At least Odin wouldn’t find him for a while, so that was a good thing. And the fact that the ship was in constant moving would help him easily dodge anyone who was looking for him.
But was it the life he wanted? He just sold himself to work with pirates. You were right to some extent, he wasn’t made for this life. Although he liked the feeling of the swaying ship over the tides, the smell of the saltiness of the sea, and the fresh air.
And he liked you. But was it enough?
“Dinner time!” the new masculine voice got Loki out of his head, he hadn’t realised when the crew entered the room for dinner.
“Come eat Loki” Wanda encouraged, patting a seat next to her and a tall blonde man. Loki nodded and moved to sit next to the redhead as she passed him a bowl of soup.
That night he got to meet your crew closely. He was entertained by their charisma. To be fearsome pirates they still emanated a familiar warmth. They treated each other like family.
He listened closely to Tony and Bruce as they talked about how they needed to fix some planks, and Steve when he pointed out that they needed more gunpowder, and Clint as he recalled how he couldn’t wait to be back on Sapphire and see his wife and kids.
Later at night, with a full stomach and warmth in his heart, Loki laid in the not-so-comfortable bed and strangely felt at home. Maybe he wasn’t made for the life, but he could adapt to it.

˗ˏˋ DARK & COLD — CHAPTER FOUR ;
Y/n’s eyes fluttered open as the sun filtered through the curtains. She was still tired, to the point that she considered just staying in bed for the day. But she happened to remember a dreadful promise she made yesterday. Loki would undoubtedly knock on her door anytime soon.
So with an exhausted sigh she tried getting up.
Tried, because she realised she couldn’t.
Panic settled within her when she realised she couldn’t move any part of her body. Sleep paralysis? Can’t be… she had always hated those experiences, and the timing of this one seemed extremely suspicious.
She tried to calm down and let her brain wake up the rest of her body, yet the anxiety only seems to expand more through her system.
It was odd, it definitely wasn’t sleep paralysis, she could still feel herself; she could feel herself trying to get up( yet it was like something was pulling her down more very time she tried pushing herself out.
The way the room seemed to shrink with every minute that passed didn’t seem to help her mental situation either.
Suddenly all the alarms in her brain went off, her instinct telling her to sprint out and not look back, yet her body did little to satisfy that demand.
She felt the presence, this time closer, she could almost hear its breathing, it was behind her, in times like this she thanked her habit of always waking up on her side.
She tried summoning her powers, if her body wasn’t going to respond by nature she’ll have to force it to, yet she couldn’t feel the familiar tingling that the surge of power always caused in the tips of her fingers.
She was hopeless as the ghostly feeling increased behind her back. She was so ready to scream if her body would just let her; scream to Loki, to Wanda, just anyone.
When suddenly she felt a cold, almost unrealistic breath on her ear.
“You remember… me?”
Just as quick as it came, it was gone.
Y/n jumped off the bed as soon as she was physically able to, hyperventilating and summoning her powers, she took a look around the room. She was ready for battle, she felt like she was back in the disaster she caused centuries ago; hopeless, lost, confused, scared.
She recognised the voice, yes she did.
She would never be able to forget it. Y/n thought she got rid of him a long time ago, but he proved her wrong.
A bad weed never dies, I see.
Her body begged her to sit down and take slow breaths, to calm down so as to regain control of herself. Yet all she could do was dart her eyes from side to side in the room, looking for what she dreaded most. But didn’t find it.
She changed her clothes with magic and rushed out of the room. She needed to get rid of the spirit, but she needed help. Loki, she needed to find Loki.
But walking just a couple steps towards his room she didn’t need to look further, he had already found her.
“Good morning, I was about to check on y-” he started smiling lightly at her, but she didn’t stop walking, and instead grabbed him by the arm and pulled him as she continued walking, “Are you okay?” he asked with obvious confusion letting himself be pulled, she didn’t answer nor turn around to look at him.
He obviously knew she wasn’t okay, she didn’t look okay to begin with. Loki guessed it had something to do with the spirit, so he just let her lead the way, slipping out of her gentle hold and walking silently next to her as they made their way to the elevator.
Once they made it to the lift y/n let out a silent sigh “We need to get rid of it” she whispered just loudly enough for Loki to hear.
“We’re doing it now?” he questioned in return, she shook her head in no, “I think it’s time we teach Wanda a couple lessons in magic” she replied making Loki frown in confusion.
Y/n didn’t think she’ll need Wanda in this situation, but she had to make sure she locked that spirit where he belonged for good. She was going to need all the magic hands she could. She already failed once, and she was adamant not to do it again.
“We have to be quick and silent, the less people we can involve in this, the better” Loki nodded in response as the elevator doors opened and they headed towards the kitchen.
It was early in the morning, at this our Wanda would have already woken up and stated preparing breakfast for herself so as to start the day.
And of course, there she was.
Loki leaned on the kitchen’s wall as Wanda smiled brightly at the sight of y/n, “Good morning, fancy some breakfast?” y/n smiled in gratitude but shook her head, “Are you free today?”
Wanda titled her head as she thought, she put down the dishes she was about to wash and redirected her attention back to y/n, “No, I don’t really have anything to do”
“That’s great, now you’re coming with us” y/n didn’t lose time in grabbing Wanda and making her way back to the elevator as the younger yelped, Loki smiled slightly in amusement, “Wait— where are we going!” Wanda could only let herself get dragged “I’ll tell you when we arrive” “But the dishes—!” “You can do them later”
Making their way down on the lift all three were silent, Wanda continuously sending glances to the older witch in search of answers, yet y/n only gave her slight shoulder shrugs as she kept her gaze on the metal doors.
She was concentrating her magic, sending it all over the tower in search of the vile presence. But she didn’t find a single trace of it, it was like he disappeared completely.
She had thought, and hoped, he was only linked to the tower.
But his absence seemed to worsen the situation. If he wasn’t here, where was he? Out there terrorising other people? If so, how long has he been doing it without her realising?…
She let her magic dissipate once the doors of the lift opened, she quickly grabbed Wanda’s hand and led her outside as Loki followed them.
Yet she didn’t notice the frown in Loki’s face.
He was concerned, not only because there was a spirit lurking around, but also for y/n. She managed to mask down her magic as she traced the tower, but even then he was able to pick up slightly on it.
He could feel her when she used it, feel her emotions. And there nothing sort of good in the them. In fact, y/n seemed on the brink of collapse; she was extremely tired, and that wasn’t promising at all.
Y/n let out a sigh of relief upon breathing the fresh air. She turned to Wanda who looked at her questioningly.
“Wanda, we have a very big problem”
“So basically, there’s an evil ghost in the tower” Wanda concluded as the three were sitting down on the grass.
They had walked until finding an amicable place to discuss the situation, which was the park they were currently sitting in.
“Yeah, that’s pretty much it” y/n said turning to look at Loki, “So, where do we start?” he questioned and Wanda’s eyes widened.
“We?” she asked perplexed, “I’m supposed to help?” Y/n took the young witch’s hand in hers, “I know it’s a lot to ask, and I’ll understand if you don’t want to take part in it, but I’m going to need all magic hands in this” Wanda’s eyes softened as she moved closer to y/n, until she could lay her head on her shoulder.
“I want to help, it’s merely that I don’t know how to deal with a ghost” Wanda said softly and y/n smiled turning her gaze to Loki who arched an eyebrow in expectation.
With a golden gleam y/n made a book appear between the three of them, “First you need to understand how the spirit world works” Wanda straightened her back to have a better glance at the pages.
“There’s no place for presences like the one in the tower in the mortal world” y/n started as the pages of the book moved on their own, “Unlike the souls of the deceased, they don’t have access to temper with the living” Loki frowned upon hearing her.
“So we’re not dealing with a deceased person’s soul?” he voiced and y/n shook her head in no, “These type of spirits don’t have a physical form, yet they seek for it. They’ve never had it and therefore they want it desperately”.
“So, he doesn’t care that he might be hurting people in the process?” Wanda asked, “No, they do not care for anything that isn’t their goal. They’re extremely selfish and won’t stop at nothing, that’s why they must remain locked up in the spirit world”.
“And there’s a way for them to travel between these worlds?” Wanda questioned again, suddenly uncomfortable with the thought of evil spirits moving as they please, “There shouldn’t be. The open doors between the two worlds are designed for the travel of souls only” y/n paused as the book flipped the page.
It was an illustration, various of them. Depicting how to open doors for spirits into the mortal world.
“Yet, there’s various rituals to open doors for them” y/n finished as Loki looked closely on the illustrations, “Could someone have opened a door using one of this rituals?” he questioned.
Y/n sighed, “They can, and they have”.

˗ˏˋ DARK & COLD — CHAPTER THREE ;
Once she reached the door, she got a hold of the knob. But before opening it she took a moment, a deep breath and closed her eyes.
No negative energy, it’s safe.
After slowly opening the door, she peeked her head through the crack just to spot a very familiar set of green eyes looking down at her. She internally sighed and opened the door slightly more so that the concerned god in front of her could see her better.
“Hey, you are definitely not okay, so, talk about it?” Loki asked with slight hesitancy that he managed to cover up. Y/n looked to the side, down to his feet and back to his face, defeated, she sighed again. He’s not gonna stop until he finds out, might as well just tell him, he could help. “Wanna come inside?” she offered, fully opening the door for him. He smiled thankfully and walked into her room, making way for her bed where he sat carefully looking back at her as she closed the door and walked to him.
He observed as she took a chair from the matching table it belonged to and placed it to sit in front of him. “So you didn’t feel that back there?” She immediately asked pointing to the door, referring to the weird moment she had in the living room “Feel what exactly?” Loki replied confused.
What was she talking about? Was it something only witches could feel? But, what could witches feel? He didn’t know much about witches, midgardian books talked way too vaguely about them, what could they really do? See the future? Talk to spirits?… wait…
“Was there a presence in the room?” He questioned, now catching on what had her so worried; her expression, they way she turned to look behind her and then back at him like he was supposed to have seen something… it only made sense like that “Apart from your annoying one?” She replied with a blank face, breaking his train of thought.
Of course, only a witch will take her time to attack his persona while worrying about an evil spirit walking free; was it an evil spirit tho?
Loki rolled his eyes “I’m talking seriously” he said pointing his accusing finger at her “So am I” she replied doing the same “Anyways, yes. There was a presence” she added, this time seriously “So what do we do with it?” Loki questioned, he wanted to ask more, so much more. Y/n looked at him dead in the eye, “Nothing” she replied shrugging her shoulders.
Truth is, she didn’t think of what to do with it. For some reason the presence seemed familiar, but not in a good way; but rather a way that made her skin crawl and made her physically and mentally sick. She hadn’t felt that way in a long time, she hadn’t had a presence make her feel that way in a long time. The spirit world was a complicated mess, mess that she didn’t want to indulge into again for the rest of her existence, that she vowed not to indulge into again for what was left of life. As she thought of her possibilities, she couldn’t stop past memories from appearing in her racing mind.
“Thalia, I do not think this is the best decision…” she pleaded once again with the young woman, seeing how she moved candles and flowers around, placing them in a pattern around the both of them. “It is going to be just fine, you are here with me, you will protect me, correct?” Thalia answered, coming to a halt in front of the witch’s concerned expression and holding both of her hands in hers “We will do it just like you said, please? You said you will do it for me…” yes, she did.
Shaking the memory of the pleading green eyes of the young woman just moments before her demise, she looked back at Loki who mirrored her gaze with a concerned one due to her zoning out after the vague answer she gave him. Y/n sighed and got up from the chair to move and sit next to him.
“To be honest Loki, I don’t know what to do with it, it’s been so long since I’ve dealt with one…” she answered almost in a whisper, putting her head in her hands; she was utterly and completely lost. Having to deal with one of those happened a long time ago and she was adamant on not repeating that experience. Not here at that, there was people living in this tower, she couldn’t just come in and tell them ‘there’s a potential evil spirit in here ha-ha’ when she didn’t even know what to do to stop it… should she tell Tony that there’s a potential evil spirit wandering through the corridors of his tower?…
Loki looked down at her in pity. He could sense the desperation seeping out of every one of her pores, the racing thoughts circling her head... He took a gentle hold of her wrist and pulled it slowly to catch her attention, “You don’t have to figure it out alone, you know I will help you” he reassured her softly with a smile that comforted her at least a tiny bit, although she was only able to give him a small almost-no-smile in return.
She straightened her back and looked to the front, her wrist still in Loki’s hold. She still didn’t know what to do, but she had to do something. But not here.
“Let’s solve it” she started, moving her gaze back to Loki’s green eyes “But somewhere else…” she finished getting up and pulling the god with her as his grasp on her wrist remained. He looked down at her with a confused expression “But the spirit is he—” He tried to ask, only to have the witch’s hand slammed into his mouth while she anxiously looked around her “New rule Loki, we do not talk about the thing inside the tower, got it?” She asked with nothing but seriousness in her eyes, Loki nodded “Good” she replied moving her hand away from his mouth realising how it had fell from his grasp just moments ago. He kind of wanted it back.
“So, what are we going to do?” He asked as Y/n made a literal chained and key-locked chest appear on her table. Only the chains weren’t really chains, it seemed like a protection charm of some sorts. Loki moved to stand alongside the witch as she looked at the chest like it was the source of all the universe’s problems, her gaze softened as she looked back at his curious expression “Now, Loki. If you want to deal with the thing you have to know where it came from first. And lucky for you, I know just how to do that” she answered with a smirk, only to let it drop and sigh as she turned her attention back to the chest “But we have to open this thing first” she added.
Loki’s gaze moved between the chest and the witch, arching his brow as he took in the concern in y/n’s eyes “Well how do we open it?” He asked “We have to get rid of the protection charm and then look for the key to open it” she answered as it it was common knowledge walking to get the chair that she left in front of the bed back to its place, now in front of the chest “Well let’s do it then” he replied getting impatient. He was excited to see what was inside, judging by the charm and the look in y/n’s face it was nothing good, and Loki loved nothing-good-things.
Y/n on the other hand, dreaded having to open the godforsaken chest. She loved it the moment that it found its place in her possession, but finding out about the true nature of what was inside left her feeling like she was holding the heaviest elephant that crossed this earth on her weak trembling shoulders while walking the hottest desert in the hottest day of the hottest summer in the last 100 years.
Yet she couldn’t find it in herself to get rid of it. She felt like if she let go of it, it would bring chaos and destruction no matter what hands it fell on, so she kept the goddamn chest, and she carried the elephant through the desert, desperately looking for an oasis to rest in.
Y/n made the chest disappear as Loki was about to touch it, making an adorable frown appear in his face. A literal child.
“I don’t have the key” she stated walking towards her bed and sitting on the edge, an even more confused frown appearing on Loki’s face wanting to make her laugh “What do you mean you don’t have it?” He questioned moving to stand in front of her “I know where it is, but I don’t have it” she replied, leaning back and holding her weight on her arms behind her “Well then let’s go look for it” Loki stated matter of factly “Not today, it’s late and I’m tired. The whole encounter left me drained of energy, we can look for it tomorrow when I feel better” she explained, Loki nodded in understanding, she did look kind of pale.
“Fine, sleep well. I’ll check up on you tomorrow” Loki replied walking towards the door, opening it and stepping outside he turned to the y/n “Good night my lady” he said with a smirk “Good night Loki” she replied with a small smile as he gave her a nod and closed the door.
Once it was close she let herself fall back on the bed and put the palms of her hands over her face, how the fuck am I gonna get that key back?

˗ˏˋ THE BEGINNING AND THE END ;
The cries, pleas, begs for him to stop had been present almost every time he had to do his job. With the years he had gotten used to them, patience becoming a great skill of his. He had learned that soft reassurances were the best way to carry on what he had to do.
Usually he would have to reassure the soul that they would be okay, just give them the little push they needed to move to the next chapter. It generally didn’t work on the first try, so he had to stay, sometimes for hours, to help those souls move on.
But he never had to reassure life itself.
You and Loki had always been friends, despite the difference of your jobs, you found solace in each other. No one understood you how he did, and no one understood him how you did. Probably because no one could see any of you until they died. So you enjoyed each other's company to not drown in the solitude of the nature of your existences.
“Let him go” Loki said softly, coming to stand in front of you. You were in a hospital, holding the hand of a little boy that was minutes away from leaving this life, you gave soft caresses to the little hand in your hold. You always hated letting the little ones go, but this is the first time Loki was seeing it. He knew how compassionate you are, it was in your nature at the end of the day, you loved every living being and it pained you seeing them go, yet this is the first time he experienced your sadness so vividly. “You’ll take care of him, right?” you replied in a whisper and Loki saw some tears threatening to leave your eyes. He gently took your hand away from the kid’s and moved his own to cup your cheek, when you finally looked at him he smiled kindly “You know nothing of what you create gets lost when they reach my hands” he replied softly caressing your cheek. It pained him seeing you like this, you were always cheerful and full of life.
You took his hand away from your face and held it between yours for a moment, and with a final look at his green eyes you stepped away from the bed, letting go of his hand. Loki turned to the little boy and held his fragile hand, he pulled softly and when his soul was released and the machine he was attached to stopped beeping he helped him climb down from the bed. He looked confused to say the least, with a hint of curiosity.
“Are you the grim reaper?” you tried to hide the laugh that was about to bubble out when you heard the little boy’s question, Loki did look like a grim reaper, in a way he was, the all-black attire gave him away. Loki threw you a light glare over his shoulder, which morphed into a smile when he turned to the young soul, at least he managed to lift up your spirits a little bit. “Uh… I guess you could say so” he answered kneeling down to match the height of the kid “You know what’s going to happen now?” he asked softly, the boy nodded “My mom told me that you would come to visit soon and that you’ll bring candy” he answered with a small smile.
You felt your heart ache. His mother was nowhere to be seen, she didn’t even get to say goodbye to her beloved kid. The poor woman was probably stressed and scared for her little boy, choosing to calm down his fears of death, but what about hers?
“Well, I don’t have candy here but if you come with me I know a place where there is a lot of it” Loki replied getting up and offering his hand to the kid who took it happily. When they finally turned around you tried to give the boy your best smile and turned to guide them out of the room and through the hospital corridors.
You knew this was part of the cycle, it was part of life. But it wouldn’t stop you from feeling heartbroken. You loved all creatures you created and never felt overly sad when they had to leave the realm of the living, you knew it wasn’t the end for them, on the other side they would continue their life, it was but a continuation. But letting go of the little ones never failed to break you on so many levels, they are so young, always the most full of life and happiness, you always thought they represented you in some way; they were curious of the world around them, always eager to find out new things, eager to live. Whenever one of them had to leave you’ll feel like they took a piece of you with them.
But you knew Loki would take care of them, he took care of every soul. Even yours.
You both sat on a bench facing a small pond. The kid had taken his new life pretty good but you weren’t surprised, kids never knew what death really meant so they generally took it better than the elders. Loki would bribe them with candy and long playing hours with toys that they could have never thought existed, and for a while they would forget about the life they once had.
You chuckled lightly “What is it?” Loki asked with a smile after turning his eyes from the pond to you “Nothing, just, don’t you think this is such a contradiction?” you replied with a smile turning to him “What do you mean?” he questioned with a confused smile “I mean you and me. You’re death and I’m life, we’re supposed to be enemies” you answered to then scoot closer to him and lean your head on his shoulder.
Yes, he definitely thought that there was a contradiction in your relationship.
You were radiant and he was gloomy, you were warm and he was cold, you created life and he took it away.
But Loki strongly believed you belonged with each other, you completed each other. You made him cheerful, made him experience that warmness his body wasn’t used to creating, you made him live away from his duties all the time.
“Should we really be enemies?” He asked taking your hand in his and intertwining your fingers, you shrugged, softly tightening your hold in his hand “I don’t know, but I like how we are like this” you answered in a whisper letting your eyes shut for a little bit until you both had to separate and go do your respective jobs.
Later at noon Loki walked into an apartment complex, looking for a cat that had to have died a couple hours ago, it was his last job of the day. He walked into the old lady’s apartment and set on looking for the missing soul.
But he didn’t find a soul, instead the cat was alive and in perfect shape, walking around the house freely.
“You’re supposed to be dead, so what’s going on” he whispered crouching down to give the cat some pets “You’re late Loki” your singsong voice sounded from behind him, he got up and turned around and there you were, sitting on the sofa with a triumphant smile on your beautiful face.
Of course it had been you.
Loki gave an unbelieving chuckle as you got up and motioned with your finger for him to follow you out of the apartment, your dress flowing freely behind you, “I can’t say that it hurts me when you win” he said once he caught you leaning against the opposing door of the apartment you just got out of. You smiled playfully and extended your arms with open hands for him to come to you “Well, the lady of that apartment really loved her cat, she would have been heartbroken if it had died” you whispered when he was close enough to brush his nose with yours, he smirked and got a hold of your waist “And you can’t have that can you?” He asked leaning down to plant a kiss on your soft lips.
As the kiss increased in passion and the temperature between you both became unbearable you stumbled back into the apartment that seemed to be uninhabited. You got both of your hands going through his hair and neck while he roamed his hands through your waist and back. Between sloppy kisses and soft breathy moans you found yourself being pushed until your back hit a mattress with Loki crawling until his face was level with yours and his lips found your swollen ones.
You moaned into his mouth when you felt him grasp one of your breasts over the fabric of your dress. Loki took that opportunity to move the target of his kisses to your jawline and neck, you moved your hands to tug at his shirt, you needed to feel all of him freely. He moved away from you for a couple seconds while unbuttoning and taking off his shirt, but before returning his mouth to yours in a passionate kiss he pulled your dress up and helped you remove it, eyes locking in your uncovered chest. You didn’t bother wearing a bra, nobody could see you anyways.
Once he made a move to hover over you again, you swiftly pushed him until you were straddling him. He put both of his cold hands on your waist, the contrast they had with your warm skin causing a slight shiver for you. You rubbed your clothed heat over the bulge in his pants, eliciting a low groan from his throat. You smirked down at him and placing your hands over his toned chest you lowered yourself to place a gentle kiss on his lips.
Your little moment of dominance didn’t last long as Loki’s impatience took over him. With a firm hold on your waist he flipped both of you, causing a small yelp to leave your mouth. Back over you he took his time giving your neck kisses and sucks. He liked doing that, he loved the marks that would grow the next day into your skin “I missed you” he breathed next to your ear to then move his mouth down to your collarbone, you moaned softly “We saw each other twice today” you whispered tangling your hands in his raven locks “Still didn’t stop me from missing you” he replied moving his hand down to where you needed him most.
He moved his hand inside your undies, softly moving his finger over your slit, until he found your clit where he let his fingers put some pressure on, eliciting a string of soft moans to fall from your lips “Loki… please” you pleaded between whimpers “Patience my sweet, I’ll give you everything you want, just be patient” he replied letting two fingers slip inside of you causing you to throw your head back and move your hips in search of more. Loki relished in the sweet sounds that left your lips and cupped one of your breasts in his mouth, swirling his tongue over your nipple, successfully making you wetter.
You moved your hands down and tugged your undies wanting them off, maybe like that you’ll get more friction. But maybe you shouldn’t have. Loki caught on your wish and removed his fingers from inside you to take off your annoying garment, causing a whine to leave you at the feeling of emptiness, he chuckled lightly. You raised your hips and then your legs to let him remove your undies fully from you.
“Loki… come on” you pleaded with a pout as you on tugged the waistband of his pants before he could go back to teasing you “My, you can’t wait today, hm?” he teased you with a smirk, you hit him lightly on the shoulder “You said you’ll give what I want” you whispered gazing up at him and trying to undo his belt, but his fingers over your wrists stopped your actions “And who am I to deny you anymore” he replied, a green shimmer taking all the clothes he had on him away, but you didn’t have much time to let your gaze wonder as he busied your mouth with a deep kiss.
You circled your legs around his waist, pulling him down until you felt his erection against you. You broke the kiss as a moan sounded out of your throat and you gingerly held Loki's face on your palms “Please Loki, I need you inside” you whispered as you locked eyes with him and he lost no time in abiding by your plea.
He adjusted his erection against your core and swiftly moved inside of you. Both of you moaning in relief as your aching desire was being satisfied. He soon picked up a pace that had you seeing stars, moaning his name and other incoherences that you didn’t care much about.
“Lovely… you look beautiful like this…” he whispered in your ear as he took your earlobe between his lips. He really loved how you looked when he had you like this; cheeks flushed, lips parted with soft pleas of his name spilling out, holding on to him for dear life as he gave you what no one else could.
“… so good Loki… feels so good” you talked between moans as he littered your neck with open-mouth kisses, his pace only increasing by the second in a way that had you sinking your nails on his shoulder, you could swear you were so close to falling over the edge.
But suddenly he stopped and pulled out of you earning a whine from as your feeling of ecstasy receded “No… why” you whined as he placed a kiss below your ear “Don’t worry sweet girl, I’ll give you what you want, now will you turn around for me?” Loki asked as he moved away from you to stand on his knees, giving you space to do what he asked “m’kay” you replied grumpily with a pout as you turned to face the mattress, face down and hips up “That’s right darling, just like that” he said lowly as he held your hips and slowly slid back inside of you.
You moaned loudly, the new angle opening a new pleasure for both of you. As you gripped the sheets Loki leaned down, holding his weight on his arm next to your head as his other one kept a tight hold on your waist “Like that, hm?” he asked breathlessly in your ear “Yes Loki… please… you feel so good” you couldn’t even form a coherent sentence, pleasure clouding your mind too much for you to think straight.
He increased his pace until he was pounding into you, hard thrusts causing immense pleasure to reach every muscle of your body. It wasn’t long until your legs were shaking, dangerously close to your orgasm. Loki could feel it too, how you gripped him tightly and how your moans increased in volume.
He moved his hand that was on your hip around your waist and he pulled you with him as raised to his knees. He kept his hard pounding as you leaned your head against his shoulder and moved your arms behind his neck to hold his mouth close to your neck while he held you close by the waist “‘m so close…” you moaned breathlessly and he increased his pace to the point you thought you would pass out from the sheer pleasure he brought you.
He used his free hand to cup your jaw and turn your head to plant one last kiss on your lips as you reached your peak with a loud moan. He kept thrusting up into you as you both rode your highs and your breaths came back to normality. He held you close against him, leaving soft kisses on your neck as your arms fell from the back of his head. You placed your hands on top of his on your waist as you turned your head to give him a soft kiss “I love you” you whispered against his lips “And I love you” he replied moving you to lay on the bed as he laid in-front of you, wrapping you in his embrace “Let’s stay like this forever” you whispered, eyes fluttering shut ready to fall to sleep, Loki left a soft kiss on your forehead “Yeah, let’s stay like this forever” he replied moving you closer to his chest, where he would hold you the rest of the night.
His company always made you feel like you were floating on a cloud. Whether it be taking walks across cities, sharing kisses at noon or letting him touch parts of your body like no one ever could. You didn’t know if you were really a couple, you didn’t care about that stuff. You had him and he had you, none of you felt like putting a tag on what you had. It made you both happy knowing that the other one was, in a way, always there; knowing that in this monotone and long life you had someone to spend it with, and that was enough.

˗ˏˋ BLOOD ON ROSES ;
Walking down the empty street Loki looked around, it was deserted, so silent. Like every single soul had signed an agreement to not get out at this hour.
He kept walking, not particularly looking for anything, just walking.
Until he found himself looking for something, something that faintly called for him and softly demanded his attention. A strange unknown power that pulled him away from his not so certain way. And following the alluring invisible call, he found what he wasn’t really looking for.
A flower shop. A small flower shop. With many, obviously, flowers.
He was about to leave, forget the strange feeling that called him and just go back to the compound, to his brother and his friends who didn’t at all fancy him and made it their main goal to make it clear with every face expression they owned.
But then again, he felt the inaudible call to enter the small shop. And so he did.
A little bell rang alerting of his presence once he opened the door, and he was greeted with a vast amount of, clearly, flowers. The atmosphere was calm, gentle and warm, but not so much; he could feel something else there, lurking, hiding among the many plants, something that kept calling him. He walked around a little bit, gave himself the freedom to touch a couple of soft petals and others not so, relish in the refreshing scent that the flora gave, until.
“Could I maybe help somehow?” A voice called, and turning around he was met with whom he deduced worked in the shop, a woman wearing a floor-length black dress and holding a small watering can; and for a short moment, lost in her eyes, he thought he saw a faint touch of red in her irises, “I… was just looking around” he answered still holding her gaze, “Sure, take your time, I’ll be here if you need anything” she answered calmly giving him a faint smile and turning around to make her way to water some plants.
Unable to take his eyes off of her, he continued staring until his brain reminded him of how much of a creep he was acting like to which he, reluctantly, tore his eyes off of her form and back to the surrounding flora. He was just looking around, he wasn’t planning on buying anything, but now he felt like he should for some reason.
He sauntered around the well kept plants until he landed his eyes on some blooming red roses. Crimson almost like blood, they called for his attention and he gave it; he touched the soft petals and decided, these were going home with him.
“Excuse me” he asked once he approached the woman from before to which she turned around, she left the watering can near some flowerpots and gave him her attention with a smile, a smile Loki found himself enjoying a little bit too much “There’s some roses I would like to buy” he finished making her smile wider “Sure, wait for me a minute? I’ll go grab some scissors” he answered her with a smile.
As she went to pick up the scissors and gloves, away from his gaze, she stopped for a moment and took a deep breath; the more he roamed around, the more prone he would be to finding out her secret. Not that she really kept it a secret, it was just that no one really came around looking to dig in her business.
But there’s no need to make a big deal out of it. He wouldn’t just accidentally find out, right? It’s not like he’s a whole powerful sorcerer, right? One that could unravel her secrets and loop them around her throat to make her his puppet, right?. There was absolutely nothing to worry about. She will just go out there, give him the damned flowers and he will just leave to never come back and she’ll be able to move on.
Exactly.
Nothing to worry about.
So she swallowed her worries, put on the gloves, took the scissors, with a smile approached him and let him guide her to the blooming roses.
“Would you like to choose?” She asked as they reached “Choose the flowers?” He answered confused “Yes, some people like to choose some particular flowers that catch their attention” “It’s fine, I’ll have faith on the fact that you’ll give me the best ones” he replied with a smirk to which she gave one of her own.
Carefully, she selected the ones that looked prettier to her and cut them keeping an eye for the thorns, when she was satisfied with the selection she turned around to Loki “Are this to your liking?” she questioned pointing to the flowers resting on the table “Yes, they are lovely” he answered “Great, I’ll assemble them in a bouquet and they’ll be ready to go with you” with a final smile she took the flowers and walked to the counter, where behind it she started to get the flowers prepared.
As she worked carefully on the plants Loki resumed on observing her, he took in her face details and marvelled for a moment in them; she was really pale, not dangerously pale but enough to be peculiar. She gave off a confusing energy to Loki, she seemed powerful and vulnerable at the same time, her facial features calm but observing and serious. A mystery, really. But he liked the air around her, he found himself letting his guard down and just enjoying the silence, even if the unsettling feeling was still present.
And drawn to her presence, once she had finished the bouquet and gave it to him with a smile, once he had paid and both had bidden their goodbyes, he found himself waiting for the moment to go back.
Once back in the tower he ignored all of the questioning looks from the Avengers, ignored even his brother when he went to ask about the flowers he was carrying and instead just headed straight to his room.
He took out the roses from the pretty bouquet and put them in a vase he conjured. Setting them near the window he found himself recalling his encounter with the florist, she peaked his interest and he longed to go find out more about her. She seemed as such a nice person, so pleasant to be around and in their short encounter she managed to create a calm, almost warm and affectionate, atmosphere around them. Although, the unsettling feeling was still there, lingering at the back of his head, telling him to not go back.
Over the course of time, he found himself going back to her flower shop, eagerly taking every bit of information he could find about her. He soon found out her name, really lovely one he thought. And even sooner found himself fantasising about her; simply just her.
Yet, there was something that he couldn’t pinpoint entirely about her. She had welcomed their friendship happily, and although she found it fun to tease him about spending so much time on her shop, she did enjoy his company. But there was still something that remained secret, something she wouldn’t tell; he could feel it sometimes when he’s around her.
The feeling of being surrounded by some kind of danger. He had been around it so many times, it was easy to recognise. Something dark lurked in that place, settled between the flora and surrounded the woman that took care of it. Not evil, just unknown and unsettling. Something like the feeling of being alone in a forest, surrounded by nature, away from danger, but scared of the darkness.
“You want to know something?” Loki asked as she was cutting the leaves of some plant “Coming from you? I’m not sure” she answered with a smile to which Loki just sighed dramatically “I feel like I’ve gotten to know you a lot but there’s something that you can’t tell me about yourself” to this, she almost dropped the scissors but managed to compose herself “…Like what?” She asked “I don’t know, since you won’t tell me” he replied settling his gaze on her, she put down the scissors and got closer to him until she was able to put her finger on his forehead “uh… what are you doing?” questioned Loki “You are looking too much into things that don’t have much to look at” she replied and started moving her finger in circular motions, still firmly pressed to his forehead “Stop working these braincells too much or you’re going to end up frying the few you have left” she finished with a smirk and boop on his nose, which made his heart flutter and put a small blush on his face.
Was he really just being paranoid? Were his brain just exhausted from spending time with his idiot brother and his idiot friends that by the time he got to the shop he just took anything as suspicious? He didn’t know, and for a moment he was about to drop the case, give up and just assume he was half crazy. But he knew better than that. You see, when Loki puts his mind into something, it just won’t leave his head until he’s utterly and completely done with it; but he wasn’t going to get enough of that woman just yet, probably never.
“Where are you from?” He asked after getting up from the chair and following her to the back of the store “What?” She answered confused “You never told me where you’re from” he replied to her “I…” she looked and sounded lost, because she was lost, she felt her secret would unravel real soon “I’m from here, from New York” she finished, and before she could process what was going on she found herself backed into a wall, way restricted by Loki himself “What the hell Loki” she questioned after getting over the surprise of the moment “I know you’re lying to me, you’re absolutely lying to me” he said firmly “I don’t know what the hell you’re talking about” with a sigh she looked down, away from his accusing gaze “You do, just tell me” he insisted “Tell you what exactly?” she replied, voice laced with frustration and annoyance “The truth, just tell me the truth” he was starting to get on her nerves, she composed herself and looked at him sternly.
“…Get out of my way Loki” she said strangely calm and there it was again, the unsettling feeling, but Loki swallowed it down, he was adamant on proving his point, and not even her icy glare was going to stop him “Not until you tell me” he answered as serious as possible “Get. Out. Of. My. Way” she repeated slowly, stepping forward she reduced the distance between them to the point where their noses were almost touching, Loki was starting to get nervous, he hadn't thought of the consequences of his curiosity, could he break their friendship if he kept pressing her like this? but he wouldn’t show his worry just yet “Tell me the truth” he still demanded “There is no truth that you need to know” she answered in a whisper.
“So there is something that you’re hiding?” tired of the conversation she simply looked away.
She wanted to tell him, she was planning to, but not like this; she wanted to say it herself willingly, not have it pulled out of her; she sighed and looked back at him, she might as well just say it and get over with it “I was going to tell you myself, but I guess it doesn’t matter anymore. Yes, there is something I’m not telling you” she finally admitted, to this Loki celebrated internally, he was right! “But you can’t tell anyone” he nodded frantically, he felt bad for forcing it out of her but now he would never do anything to hurt or compromise her “I would never tell anyone unless you want to” to this she gave a small almost-smile, it looked more like… he didn’t know but it definitely wasn’t a smile “I’m a vampire” she blurted out before she could regret it.
Now Loki was absolutely lost, he had heard of all types of creatures but never of vampires. Once she took in his confused expression she gave a soft chuckle “You don’t know what a vampire is?” she asked amused by his surprised expression, he just pressured her to tell him her secret and now he didn’t know what to do with it “I’ve never heard of anything like that” he answered “Really? Immortal, super fast and strong beings that drink blood for a living? Never heard of those?” she asked putting her index fingers next to her mouth as to imitate fangs “I really don’t know what you’re talking about… wait, you drink blood?” He asked suddenly interested and almost disgusted, which he masked easily “Yeah, but not much of it anymore” she answered now relieved, she thought this conversation would have gone worse.
But she knew he wouldn’t do anything to hurt her, she was simply just scared of what his reaction could have been. Would he have been disgusted? terrified?... But it didn't matter anymore.
So after talking a little bit more about her origins, Loki went to the compound and got himself to work. He scanned all the books he could find about vampires and spent his day absorbing as much information as possible to then take it to his lovely florist.
“So you drink human blood?” He asked once they had sat down to drink some tea at the back of the store “Not anymore, animal blood does the trick. I haven’t had human blood in a long time, I can’t just go biting everyone I find on the street” to this Loki gave a lighthearted laugh “Besides, only god knows what they inject themselves with these days, and I really don’t want to find out” she finished with a grimace “And you can mentally control people too?” He asked remembering what he found in one of the books he was reading “Would you like to find out?” She asked with a devilish smirk as her irises turned into a crimson red “So I wasn’t hallucinating that day…” whispered Loki recalling the first day he walked into the shop and the flash of red he saw in her eyes; she giggled “I was planning on making you leave, but I thought better of it in the last second” she replied smiling softly “I’m glad” said Loki to then take a sip of his teacup.
“What about the sun, doesn’t it harm you?” He asked, curious again “That’s just a common believe, it’s not really pleasant but I won’t combust if I walk out” she answered “A lot of the things that you find on those books are not complete facts at all” she added “So the garlic?” He asked again and to this she gave a soft laugh and then became suddenly very serious “You being garlic to this place and I will rip you apart” she answered with a stern expression that didn’t last long as she broke into a smile, making him smile too.
He loved those moments that he spent with her. Not having to worry about much, just sitting amongst her flowers, basking in her presence, enjoying the sound of her laughter and marvelling at the thought of touching her soft lips. But she didn’t need to know that.
“I baked some cookies” she said while getting up from the chair and heading towards her bag, she pulled a small paper bag and walked back to the table. While she was smiling and pulling a cookie to show Loki, he observed intrigued the fangs that he could see if she smiled wide enough, “What?” she asked with a light chuckle once she took notice of his lingering gaze “I just… your fangs” he said pointing to his teeth with a small smile “Oh, those” she replied to then touch one with her tongue.
She hadn’t realised they were visible, she always made sure to hide them; but around Loki she felt at ease, not only because he knew her secret and wasn’t bothered by it, no, it was more than that. She didn’t have the urge to hide anything about herself anymore, she was comfortable, safe.
“I like them” she hadn’t realised when he got up from his chair and was now so close to her face. He raised a hand and caressed her cheek softly “Do you really?” she asked in a whisper, enjoying the feeling of his touch “I do, I really like you” Loki confessed brushing his thumb over her lips.
He didn’t want to waste any more time than he already did. He raised his other hand to gingerly hold her face and he finally put his lips on her. The florist welcomed his kiss and put her hands on his wrists as they slowly parted from each other.
Looking into his eyes, she found nothing but tenderness and love. “I really like you too” she whispered as she linked her arms around his neck when he traded her face for a tight hold on her waist, and she embraced his mouth with hers once again, neither of them wanting to let go anytime soon.
