after my granddad passed, my sister and were given a load of CDs he used to store his photos on. my sister went through them this weekend and uploaded them for the family to see and it’s brought back a whole wave of emotions.

it makes me happy, because he loved photography. growing up, he ALWAYS had his camera out, trying his best to capture the moment. there are so many photos i’ve never seen before in these folder. moments i don’t remember and moments i do.

but when i got older, i’d shy away from the lens… i’d my face behind my hand because i was so insecure about the way i looked. i rolled my eyes at him for trying so hard to photograph me.

it just makes me feel melancholy because these photos are from his pov, this is how he saw us—this is how he saw our family, and now he can’t see us anymore.

idek if this makes sense i just feel so devastated and it’s so fucking awful that he’s not here.
