i really haven’t seen many posts about this, as in i’ve only seen one and it didn’t even really explicitly talk about the labrys lesbian flag so i’m just going to say it: if you see “discourse” that amounts to “don’t use the labrys lesbian flag”, then please realize that that is not just “stupid flag discourse”. yes, most flag discourse is pointless and is based on stuff like “well this flag looks similar to another one” or “the creator of this flag supports mspec lesbians” and we can all agree that discourse like that is stupid and pointless.

the “discourse” about the labrys lesbian flag is not that. that flag contains the literal Nazi symbol that was used to designate the Romani and Sinti people in Nazi concentration camps. it was used for people deemed “Asoziale”, “asocial” which in this instance referred to people who were vagrants, prostitutes, and generally who fell outside social norms. among the people who were deisgnated with the Black Triangle were homeless people, migrants, prostitutes, but most prominently Romani and Sinti people, who were literally marked with the Black Triangle and the German variant of the g slur on it. 

the labrys lesbian flag is, first and foremost, a white supremacist symbol. there’s a big difference between queer people using the pink triangle in reclamation, and non-roma queers using a white supremacist symbol. so if you see “discourse” over this flag, please remember that it’s not just “discourse” it is literally asking you not to use a white supremacist symbol.

THE AMOUNT OF PROPAGANDA POSTERS WE MADE 😭😭

As the year is coming to an end I want to give a thanks to @mogai-sunflowers one of my friends, we met on the LGBTA wiki (toxic place btw I hate it) and that’s when we started to become friends, we were really close and someone I actually cared about and felt like I could call a true friend.

Someone who basically introduced me to the Mogai community and helped me coin Xenos, She was there for me through my awful life:

My family

My break ups

And a lil bit of when I found out I had DID

I hope in 2023 we still stay friends and I hope she one day later this year she’s the first friend who gets to see my graduation photos when I finally pass high school, I know she’ll be proud of me, even more proud then my parents, thank you Reign, my best friend, my sister, my everything

i don’t want to step out of my lane, but some stuff happened and I just wanted to say- it’s not “discourse” for a Black person to express discomfort with something you’ve done. It’s not “harassment” for a Black person to ask you to apologize or change something that they’re uncomfortable with. With regards to the MOGAI community in particular, if you make a term and a Black person tells you it’s antiBlack and makes them uncomfortable, it’s disrespectful to ignore that and say “you can’t help what your gender feels like”. That’s true, but it is not an excuse to ignore a Black person directly telling you it makes them uncomfortable. Making Black members of this community feel respected and safe is more important than having a word to describe your gender. Please respect Black people, both within this community and outside it, when they express discomfort with something you’ve done. It is the least we can do. If I ever do something racist or disrespectful, please tell me. I love you all.
