Week 10: The Midterm PIT Presentation – A Reality Check
Midterms weren’t over just yet—this time, it was presentation day for our PIT project. The stage was set, nerves were high, and just before we got started, one of the instructors took a moment to point out something hilarious—I was the only one in our group not wearing glasses! He even jokingly offered to let me borrow his pair so that our whole group could be in sync. That unexpected joke was just what we needed—an instant icebreaker before diving into our presentation.
With that little moment of laughter setting the tone, Ian took the spotlight to showcase our Figma landing page. We watched as our hard work unfolded on the screen, hoping everything would go smoothly. But of course, presentations are never just about showing off what you’ve done—they’re also about getting humbled. After the showcase, the instructors hit us with questions, and that’s when we saw it—the inconsistencies in our landing page that we somehow didn’t notice before. It was a classic "Oh no, how did we miss that?" moment, but honestly? It was okay. We took the feedback with open minds, knowing it would help us improve. And hey, at least we got constructive insights instead of just a straight-up roasting session.
After the presentation, we took a group picture, and let me tell you—our faces said everything about the stress we had just been through. Tired? Check. Mentally drained? Double-check. Also, after what happened earlier, I might actually consider buying a pair of glasses now just for the aesthetic. Who knows? Maybe next time, I’ll actually match the squad. Lmao. 🚀

Week 9: The Midterm Curveball
This week was supposed to be all about midterms, but life had other plans for me. Instead of battling through exam questions, I was stuck dealing with a rough menstrual episode. Yep, I had to sit this one out. But before that unexpected plot twist, we had one crucial consultation with Sir Carl on March 17, 2025.
During the session, we faced some major revisions for our project—like, big ones. The kind that makes you stare at your screen, questioning all your life choices. It was a mix of "Oh, we got this!" and "Wait… we have to redo what now?" But hey, challenges are part of the process, right? We took notes, reworked our ideas, and braced ourselves for the workload ahead.
As for the midterms, I may have missed the actual exam room chaos, but I definitely didn’t miss out on the stress. I could almost feel my classmates sweating through those test papers while I was stuck in bed, feeling just as drained. Hopefully, I bounce back strong for what’s next—because this project? It’s not going to revise itself! 🚀

Week 8: UI/UX Figma Workshop: A Creative Win for the Team
This week, our section had the chance to dive into UI/UX design through an insightful Figma Workshop led by Engineer Alyssa Vallejos. She was incredibly kind and engaging, making the entire session feel like an exciting exploration of design rather than just another lecture. We played around with Figma, learned about user-friendly layouts, and even picked up a few tricks that we could apply to our projects.
Then came the main event—the design challenge! Since there were students from different year levels, our section naturally teamed up. Edrian was part of our group, while Dabe and Veron were in another, but since we were all classmates, they decided to collaborate with us. And let’s be real—they absolutely carried the win! Their combined creativity and effort made their final work stand out, earning them the top spot and that well-deserved T-shirt prize. We were all proud to see our section come together and take the victory home!
To wrap up this awesome workshop, here’s a snapshot of Sir Carl, Engineer Alyssa Vallejos, and the team, marking the end of a day filled with creativity, teamwork, and a winning moment! 🚀

Week 7 Recap: The Week Procrastination Became a Crime
This week? Oh boy... it was one heck of a ride! Procrastination wasn’t even an option—it felt like a criminal act with all the tasks, consultations, and deadlines chasing us down. We powered through, though, and here’s the full rundown of our jam-packed week!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On Monday, March 3, we went to school solely for a consultation with Sir Carl. Little did we know, we were about to face a mountain of revisions. Tons of changes had to be made, and honestly, our notes looked like a battlefield of scribbles and corrections. Here's a glimpse of us, hard at work, during that consultation time.

Wednesday, March 5, hit us with a quiz—and let me tell you, I barely made it! My score landed right on the passing mark, and honestly, I felt like I had just dodged a bullet. Whew! After lunch, we went straight back to Sir Carl for another consultation, armed with our revised progress. And guess what? More revisions! But before that, we squeezed in some interviews for our project website. It was a productive day, packed with back-to-back tasks. Here's us again, looking both determined and mentally drained.
Tumblr media
By Friday, March 7, our squad had claimed our go-to spot: the legendary "Computer Engineers' Spot." We were so deep in focus that we unintentionally embodied the nearby signage, which proudly declared "Brains at Work." Honestly, that sign had never felt more accurate. Everyone was locked in, fingers flying across keyboards like we were hacking into NASA or something.

HAHAHAHA the "luoy ug nawng" vs "the rbf"

Then came Saturday, March 8—a day that ended with a sweet victory! We attended a UI/UX Figma workshop led by the amazing Engineer Alyssa Vallejos. She was incredibly kind and sweet, making the whole learning experience enjoyable. As the workshop wrapped up, we were given a challenge—a design task with a cool T-shirt prize on the line. Edrian, Dabe, and Veron teamed up and absolutely crushed it! Their work stood out, and honestly, it was no surprise when they snagged the win.
Tumblr media
To wrap it all up, here's a memorable shot of Sir Carl, Engineer Alyssa Vallejos, and some of the amazing minds that made this week unforgettable.
That's the rundown of our chaotic yet fulfilling week—one packed with revisions, victories, and moments of pure focus. Until next time... 🚀

Week 6 Recap: A Rollercoaster of Twists, Laughs, and Lucky Breaks
Tumblr media
This week took an unexpected turn—Sir Carl surprised us with a rebus puzzle game! Whoever guessed the answers correctly would score extra points, and let me tell you, the class was buzzing with energy. Some answers were genius, while others were so off-the-mark that we couldn’t help but burst into laughter. It was a wild mix of brainpower and comic relief!
At first, I struggled with a few puzzles but then came the moment. Right after the next puzzle flashed on the screen, I answered like lightning, "Jack in the box!" Then, just a millisecond later, JC shouted, "Blackjack!" The whole room went silent for a beat before exploding into laughter. That moment was pure gold, and I couldn't help but feel proud for nailing the answer. By the end of the game, I had gotten two correct answers, which was pretty satisfying.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After all the fun, Sir Carl got back to business with our discussion before grouping us for an activity. I was teamed up with Reggie, Dabe, and Dan Joshua. And here’s where luck was on our side—Sir accidentally left the answers visible for the first two questions! We exchanged silent grins, snapped a quick picture, and secured those easy points. With that little bonus in our pockets, we tackled the rest of the activity with full-on teamwork and good vibes.
And just like that, another week wrapped up—packed with challenges, hilarious moments, and a sprinkle of good fortune. See you next week! 🚀

Week 5 Recap: Diagrams, Consultations, and a Quick Check-In
Week 5 felt like a breather compared to last week’s madness, but it still had its moments. We focused on Topic 3, where Sir introduced some diagrams that we had to work on. It wasn’t too overwhelming, but it definitely kept us on our toes as we tried to get everything right. The discussions were insightful, and I could tell that everyone was trying to grasp the concepts as best as they could.
After class, my groupmates and I took the initiative to visit Sir Carl’s office for a consultation about our paper. We wanted to make sure we were on the right track, and honestly, it was a good call. Sir Carl gave us some pointers and clarifications that helped us refine our work. Having that extra guidance gave us more confidence moving forward.
And just like that, Week 5 was done! Nothing too crazy, but still productive. On to the next one! 🚀

Week 4 Recap: Chaos, Quizzes, and a Surprise Dance Move
Week 4? What a whirlwind! If there was ever a week that pushed us to our limits, this was it. Quizzes were popping up left and right like they had a personal vendetta against us. Wednesday hit hard with an SDE quiz so brutal, I could practically see my brain short-circuiting. And just when we thought we could breathe, we were thrown into a fast-paced activity that had us racing against time. It was all hands on deck, and honestly, I still don’t know how we pulled it off.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then came Friday, and it was just as crazy. The CPE event at PAT was scheduled for noon, but of course, we had an AEM quiz from 1 PM to 2:30 PM—fantastic timing, right? The moment we submitted our papers, we bolted to the event, hoping we hadn’t missed all the fun.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And that’s when things got interesting. Enter USTP’s very own sensation: Marlon. The second he stepped on stage, the crowd erupted into cheers, his name bouncing off the walls. Then—boom—he started singing “Nasa Iyo na ang Lahat” by Daniel Padilla, and the whole vibe transformed. It was like an impromptu concert, and we were all living for it.
But hold up, the best part? Near the end of the event, a unity dance broke out, and guess who was front and center, busting out moves? None other than Sir Carl himself! He blended in with the students so effortlessly that for a second, you’d think he was one of us. It was equal parts epic and hilarious, and hands down, one of the best moments of the week.
Tumblr media
And that’s a wrap for Week 4! It was exhausting, it was chaotic, but it was also filled with moments we won’t forget anytime soon. Let’s see what next week has in store! 🚀

Week 3 Recap: What a Day!
What a day! Seriously, this was one of the most intense and chaotic days we’ve had so far. We got home feeling exhausted and drained, but we couldn’t let that stop us—there were still tasks that needed to be done.
One of the biggest struggles today was submitting an activity before the 5 PM deadline, which was stressful because our last class ended at 4:30 PM. That didn’t leave us much time at all. Technically, it was our fault for not doing it earlier, but we had so much on our plate this week—quizzes left and right, plus spontaneous tasks popping up out of nowhere.
The Chaos in Class
Our last class was already a wild ride in itself. Ian and I partnered up for our task, and while working on it, I found myself multitasking—trying to keep up with the class while focusing on our activity at the same time. To make things even crazier, some of our classmates didn’t show up, and others arrived late, which led to our instructor scolding them. The tension in the room was so intense, and it only added to the pressure Ian and I were already facing.
The Panic After Class
Once class ended, it was full-on clutch mode. My groupmates were running around—some were rushing to print documents, others were scrambling to clarify things with different groups. The whole place was just pure chaos. And then, just when things couldn’t get any crazier, Sir Carl dropped a message in the class group chat:
"Why is this happening?"
At that moment, we all froze. Panic hit us hard. What was happening? What did we do? How were we supposed to react? It was like the entire class was holding its breath.
A few of us, including me, decided that the best thing to do was to go straight to Sir Carl’s office to ask what was wrong and maybe even request a deadline extension. The atmosphere was tense, but luckily, Sir Carl agreed to extend the deadline until 6 PM. We were beyond grateful and immediately ran back to our spots to continue working at full speed. That extra hour was a lifesaver, and we gave it everything we had.
Final Thoughts
Despite all the stress and chaos, we somehow managed to submit the activity on time. Looking back, this day was exhausting, intense, and nerve-wracking, but also kind of memorable. It’s one of those experiences that, later on, we’ll probably laugh about—but in the moment? Total madness.
Here’s to hoping next week is a little less stressful—but knowing how things go, we’ll just have to wait and see. Until next time, let’s keep pushing forward! 🚀

Week 2: Late update! Diving into HTML & CSS
Hey everyone!
I was supposed to update my Tumblr last week, but things got pretty hectic, and I completely forgot. Now that it’s the start of Week 3, I still want to share what I worked on last week—better late than never, right?
For Week 2, I focused on learning HTML and CSS. I watched a six-hour-long tutorial (yes, six hours!) and worked on some tasks along the way. I also went through a few online courses on HTML and CSS to reinforce what I was learning. However, I haven’t finished the entire course or the video yet since I had other tasks to do as well.
Even though my progress wasn’t massive, I’m glad that I now understand the basics of front-end coding! It’s a small step, but definitely a step forward. This week, my goal is to master HTML and CSS so I can finally start diving into JavaScript—which is both exciting and a little intimidating.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've been obsessed with KFC lately! Famous bowl hits diff while making tasks. Aside from my coding journey, we also had a group activity during our class session last week. The interesting part? We were grouped on the spot with temporary group members! Despite that, we actually did really well, which was a great experience.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In case you're wondering why I’m learning all of this, it’s because I’ve been assigned to handle the front-end development of our project. It’s a big challenge, but I’m excited to learn and improve. Wish me luck!
That’s it for my Week 2 update. Hopefully, by the next one, I’ll have even more progress to share. Let’s keep learning! 🚀

Week 1, Day 3: Sleepover Progress!
Hello, and welcome back to my blog! Let’s dive into the exciting and productive events of Day 3, which started with a sleepover and ended with a lot of progress for our project.
The Sleepover Plan
The idea of a sleepover came up on Friday when Ian suggested that we should all gather at his house to work on the project together. We all thought it was a great plan, so we agreed. On Saturday, we arrived at Ian’s house, laptops in hand, ready to get things done.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Task Assignments and Progress
Ian took the initiative to learn how to use Figma to create the layout for our website.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, I (Loraine/Lompia) took charge of designing the logo. It was a challenging process, with lots of trial and error, but by the end, I was so proud of the result! The logo turned out simple yet meaningful, perfectly representing our project.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
TEDENN! This is our logo.
Tumblr media
Our new team member, Edrian—who recently joined after being transferred to our section—teamed up with Edther and Rona to gather related literature for our project. They did a fantastic job and found several studies that aligned well with our goals. Their effort was a major contribution to the progress we made today.
Tumblr media
Fun with Figma
Once I finished the logo, I joined Ian on Figma to see how his layout was coming along. I gave him some assistance, and we ended up having a lot of fun. Ian had incorporated some faces of our fellow computer engineering students into the design, which gave us all a good laugh. It was a lighthearted moment that added some joy to our productive day.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dinner Break
All that work made us hungry, so we decided to order Jollibee through Foodpanda. We had a great time enjoying our meal together before getting back to work. Dinner gave us the energy to push through more tasks.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wrapping Up
As the night went on, the weariness began to set in. Ian was the first to call it a night, heading to his bed to rest. The rest of us followed soon after. Edrian took a picture of me that night where I ended up falling asleep on their couch, looking—as I would describe—like a zombie straight out of The Walking Dead! It was the perfect end to a productive and fun-filled day.
Tumblr media
Looking Forward
That’s it for Day 3! The sleepover turned out to be a brilliant idea, allowing us to bond as a team while making great strides in our project. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue this journey together. See you in the next post!

Week 1, Day 2: Proposal Approval!
Welcome back to my blog! Let me walk you through what happened on the second day of this first week. Things moved quickly, and we’ve already made significant progress!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After yesterday's class, Ian took the initiative to create a group chat on Messenger so we could continue discussing our project ideas. Our initial proposal, while creative, felt a bit too ambitious for our current skill level. That’s when Edther came up with a fantastic new suggestion: a Food Panda-like service that would be exclusive to the campus cafeteria. The concept immediately piqued my interest because it would offer a much-needed convenience for the people inside the campus.
Tumblr media
We all agreed to focus on Edther’s idea and brainstormed how to develop it further. Edther, always quick to take action, created a pre-survey to gather feedback from potential users. Later that day, we disseminated the survey and managed to gather responses from 21 students. It felt rewarding to see the enthusiasm and support for our project through the data we collected.
Tumblr media
During lunch, Ian and I reviewed the survey results and discussed how we could integrate the feedback into our proposal. Meanwhile, Rona and Ian teamed up to design a PowerPoint presentation that would highlight our idea effectively. Ian also came up with the name "Peak Up" as a last-minute idea while working on the PowerPoint presentation. We all thought it was really creative for our project and decided to go with it. By 5 PM, we were ready to pitch our proposal to our instructor.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The presentation went better than we expected! Our instructor provided valuable feedback and, to our delight, our proposal was approved! It was such a relief to see our hard work and collaboration pay off. We left the office with big smiles and even bigger plans for what’s next. This day marked an important milestone for our group. With our proposal approved, we can now shift our focus to refining and executing our project. Stay tuned as we turn this idea into reality. Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you in the next post!

Week 1: This is Where It All Begins
Hi, welcome to my humble blog! I’m excited to take you along on this journey as we explore the ups and downs of this semester. Let’s dive right into what happened during Week 1. Spoiler alert: it was quite the introduction!
The Orientation
Our first day of class kicked off with an orientation that felt both exciting and nerve-wracking. Only 14 of us showed up that day, making it an intimate and cozy gathering. I found myself sitting in a row with Ian, Rona, and Edther—a trio I didn’t know I’d be working closely with soon enough.
Our instructor started by giving an overview of what the semester would look like, and let me tell you, it was both intriguing and a little intimidating. One particular highlight of the discussion was the mention of our Final Performance Innovative Task. This group project would serve as the culminating activity for the class, and our instructor emphasized that it would require teamwork, creativity, and lots of brainstorming.
Forming the Dream Team
When it came time to form groups, the choice was pretty obvious. With four of us already sitting together, Ian, Rona, Edther, and I decided to team up. It felt like a natural decision, and we didn’t hesitate to claim each other as teammates. From there, the real work began.
Brainstorming Session
After the orientation, our instructor gave us some time to start brainstorming ideas for our innovative task. Ian and Edther immediately stepped up with some solid suggestions, which showcased their creativity and problem-solving skills. Meanwhile, Rona and I played supportive roles, contributing to their ideas and refining them further. It was a collaborative effort, and I could already sense the synergy within our group.
Looking Ahead
This first meeting left me both excited and curious about what’s to come. With a small class size and an enthusiastic group, I have a feeling this semester will be memorable. Stay tuned for more updates as we tackle challenges, explore ideas, and hopefully create something amazing together!
Thanks for stopping by, and see you next week!
