We are in a really bad spot.

The state has cut off my unemployment funding way, way earlier than I'd expected.

We need income. Desperately. My partner is disabled and stuck in the typical US legal purgatory that kills people. The job market out here for anything that'll even begin covering our bills is not promising. This art thing is all I have.

So, I am releasing the Shantae animation (18+) for free way ahead of schedule.

And here's why:

One pirated upload of this animation

on one single website

has 25k+ views and a wildly positive reception.

If even 1% of those viewers gave me the two bucks a month I'm asking for on Patreon, my needs would be met for the foreseeable future. I could commission VAs to make future work better, and I could back off on commissions to get that work out more frequently.

$2500 a month. That's the bare minimum I need to keep doing this the way I have been. That at least keeps us housed and the lights on and the water running. I don't need it all from one person. That's not sustainable anyway. But, if I can get just a bit of help from the audience my work clearly does have, it would not only allow me to keep doing what I love for a living, but also to be at home for my wife who increasingly needs help even just getting around the house.

Any help you can offer, including getting more eyes on this, is greatly appreciated.

This is what I've been doing for this chapter's sets!

It's been incredibly helpful on this friggin' train!! (and good Blender experience, to boot!)

I couldn't seem to nail the angles/scale on Arthur's key for a Lythero UMVC3 video, and got stuck enough on this that remaking it in Blender for reference somehow actually saved time.

I thought I was being clever for this, but it turns out that (of course) people use this approach all the time for everything from backgrounds to character angles. So uh yeah if you're in 2D it's worth it to learn a bit of 3D jsyk ✌️

In case anyone's wondering where Lonely's at. (I'm sorry. I'm trying. I am overburdened lately. This disappoints me! I am very excited about this chapter, but excitement is not defeating my life situation)

General update on what I've been working on lately.

In case people weren’t aware, there seems to have been a massive issue throughout Patreon. People have had their subscriptions cancelled and many had their payments flagged as fraud with their bank. 150$ of my patronage disappeared, that’s 150$ a month as a disabled artist that took months to build that I’m unsure I’ll ever get back..Gone. It won’t allow me to message anyone whose payments were declined.I also had around 10 people’s payments flagged as fraud, some have had to re-patron. If you’re supporting Patreon creators I advise you look to see if at least the people you remember supporting are still there / that your payments aren’t marked as fraud, especially if you’re supporting for physical rewards you’re expecting.
