It comes out as nothing more than a joke at first.

The words had barely left your lips and you could already see Neteyams eyes widen. At first it was surprise, but then there was something else that was written on his face. His lips stretched wide into a grin and you couldn’t help but furrow your brows in confusion.

"Say that again", he tells you, his voice suddenly low, sending a wave of goosebumps all over your body.

Neteyam and you had been spending the past couple of hours together. You had asked– no, begged him to tutor you and help you get better at hunting with the bow. Who else should you have asked if not him, the best warrior of your clan, a great hunter and, on top of all, future olo’eyktan too. It was an honor for you and more than just a surprise that he had actually agreed to help you.

Which made the whole situation even more embarrassing for you, as it already was.

"W-What?", you chuckle at him, completely clueless about what was going on with him now, "What do you mean?"

"You know what I mean, don’t play dumb on me now", Neteyam smirks, "Thought you were a smart girl, hm?" He tilts his head as he speaks, causing some of his braids to fall over his shoulder and you gulp audibly.

"C‘mon, it sounded so pretty coming from you", Neteyam leans in just a little closer, one of his hands reaching to caress your cheek, his thumb gently brushing over your soft bottom lip.

"Y-Yes, sir", you repeat your previous words, less jokingly this time and more in a hushed whisper and your cheeks turn into a deep shade of red.

With a groan, he dips his head back and breathes, "Ah there it is. Fuck, you really have no idea what you’re doing to me."
