This just means character relationships I like but not in a romantic way right????? PLEASE TELL ME THAT'S WHAT THIS MEANS-

Sun, Moon, Earth. I LOVE THEM. They're my favorites and their siblings interactions (whether all three or just a combo of two) make me so happy. Any episode where they interact makes my day better already.

Also I love Sun's relationship with any of the kid or kid-like characters. Jack, Dazzle, Francine, FC, literally any of the little guys... I just love Sun trying his best to be a parent and just, like, kinda failing. Just a little.

Do yall have any platonic ships from the tsams? (Like any duos or trios that would work well together (NOT AS A COUPLE) that gives you platonic vibes and make you feel all mushy gushy inside (like romantic ships do) because their of interactions??)

Or is it just me?

Sun and Old Moon

'sun and moon show but they're all adorable' au

inspired by @potatotato-26 's droplet au, obviously

to start this off we have the boys:

Sun: sheep (Old Moon: wolf) [songs: Rabid by Nicole Dollanganger, Me and Mr.Wolf by The Real Tuesday Weld (not in a romantic sense, obv)]

Moon- dog (Cop Car by Mitski, plus huskies look a bit like wolves but aren't one)

oh and also he has a sun plushie hehehe

some stuff about Sun and Old Moon's relationship I noticed!

Old Moon had no control when they were in the same body. And I think that fear of not having control worked its way into their relationship thereafter, with Moon always wanting to know what Sun was doing, when he'd be home, who he hanged around with and etc. He got upset when Sun tried to hide things/have privacy.

He got mad when Sun didn't agree with him (wanting control over his thoughts), yet had a tendency to do a lot without confronting Sun about it (letting Lunar into the family, putting the killcode in Sun, etc.)

He was also overly controlling by using threats, on some occasions. He threatened to 'turn Sun off' if he couldn't get Eclipse under control, and implied that he might hurt others if Sun couldn't help him (unintentionally manipulating Sun into not leaving him)

That, along with his self deprecation, gave Sun the idea that he was solely responsible for Moon's mental health and that Moon not doing well- Sun not being the source of his happiness- was a sign of Sun failing as Moon's brother. And all of the stuff I just said gave Sun the idea that he was too stupid to think of anything w/o Moon's help.

Now, time for some unrelated stuff gathered from old ramblings:

on the topic of control, the last thing Moon ever did to Sun was just like. put him in solitary confinement? Without telling him when he'd be back??

had this headcanon that Sun used to sleep on the couch in that balcony room because Moon had a tendency to run off w/o telling Sun, and if Sun was right there he would hear it if Moon got back while he was charging and would know Moon was safe

also the idea of a symbolistic comparison that's: Lunar's drawn picture of him, Sun, and Old Moon being happy (Despite the fact that they weren't really most of the time) compared to a framed photo of Sun, New Moon, and Earth being genuinely happy (right after Moon loses his memories).

Nothing between them is ever truly 'resolved' as they consistently bring up stuff that has supposedly already been dealt with in other arguments (AKA they fight mostly about the same stuff every time)

(Once again, this is all my interpretation of canon and you do not have to agree with me on it)

I headcanon that Moon holds Sun's hand when he gets angry or stressed to help calm himself down. Like in today's ep (Molten is back in VR) I imagine he was holding Sun's hand to stop himself from doing something drastic while talking to Molt.

'i know i've been gone a long time' because he's been changed so much by his trauma and hasn't felt truly like he can exist in a very, very long time (featuring some of the people who hurt him either repeatedly or just earlier on in sams)

'i want what is mine' he wants to feel safe again. in his own body, in his house, in his thoughts. he wants to get better.

rant ab tomorrow's sam's ep

what will probably be 'new moon meets old moon in vrchat' or smthn like that

this will be short, but I just wanna say what I hope will happen

i want old moon to:

admit that he was wrong in how he treated sun, no matter how much he loved him. it would also be cool if old moon could mention his and sun's last interaction with each other (the argument + old moon locking sun up) bc that was messed up too

i want old moon to be sorry. to feel guilty. because he should! I might not be remembering correctly, but I don't remember old moon saying sorry to sun in his final voice recording to him, so I want him to say it now

i want him to be satisfied and get closure. he deserves it, I think. I want him to ask about sun and for new moon to tell him how suns been since his death. how sun is getting better, albeit slowly.

you may never be coming back, but the one you loved and spent your life with is getting better. And he'll keep getting better.

You might never see it, but you can rest in peace knowing the one you love is happy.

I think that's the message old moon needs to hear. I think it could even make him cry.

(btw, not saying this needs to happen or that I'll be mad if it doesn't. Its just my ideas on what might happen and what i think could leave a bittersweet but satisfying message.)

Sun analysis !!

had some thoughts after i read this tsams confessions post about Sun and how it doesn't feel like he has bonded with his family outside of Moon. you should probably read that first bc i'll be quoting it.

so here's a bit of a (completely lowercase) rant on some of the (in-universe) reasons why i think that might be

'-seeing your entire family grieving over someone [solar] who didn't really give the same amount of love to you as they did to them'

yet sun still acted extremely upset after solar died, which is understandable, but i think has deeper meaning than just 'oh he's sad because he was close to solar (he wasn't) and then watched him die'

it could be an extension of the grieving he never got to do after old moon and lunar died

acting more distraught than he really is makes him fit in more with the rest of his family, who all were close to solar and are deeply affected

he did watch solar die so, that does contribute

not to say he wasn't upset about solar dying! or shouldn't be! it's just that he didn't really...know solar. or talk to him. they never once connected. so why would he be as upset as he is?

'How Sun just leaves, and Lunar, Earth, and Monty go off to grieve without him.'

i think this comes from how him and old moon never talked about their problems. if they felt bad, they had to suck it up and deal with it alone-- after all, you wouldn't want to burden your already stressed out brother with your insignificant problems!

sun and old moon followed that pattern for long enough that it's nature to sun now: he can't be emotional around his siblings, he's not supposed to. it's why he leaves once earth and lunar are going off to properly grief.

'When he speaks to them, he doesn't know what to say or how to respond most of the time. It sometimes sounds like he is talking to a complete stranger.'

sun and old moon were tremendously codependent. they were so close. concerningly so. sometimes, it felt as if they had zero connections outside of each other:

they spent the first years of their life in the same body, together 24/7. after that, they still live and work in the same place, once again being together 24/7. at the start of the show, it seems as if moon doesn't talk to anyone outside of sun, and that sun rarely talked to anyone else; monty and roxy, sure, but they're relationships with sun weren't great, either.

even once lunar rolled around, sun and old moon only believed they could truly trust each other. they were each other's purpose.

sun will never have that amount of a bond, or those intimate of experiences, with anyone else. sun only talked to old moon for so. long. how can he learn to talk to anyone else, if they're not him?

'-said he’s in the best mental state he’s been in a while, but sitting alone in your house just seems extremely lonely.'

old moon would get annoyed with sun easily. sun was anxious and felt the need to check up on moon a lot, make sure he wasn't doing anything that hurt him-- but moon never liked it. he got snappish.

sun and old moon's conversations went better when old moon initiated them.

sun is too afraid to try initiating affection with his siblings anymore. after all, what if they get annoyed? they have real things they're dealing with, what if he's just bothering them? not just with his problems, but with wanting to talk at all?

why even try if it'll probably end up bad anyway?

Sun goes back in time (and becomes a dragon), moon loses an arm, and then goes on a great quest to find and save his brother. I can only imagine how he feels realizing he's a dragon, I was shocked when I realized it despite the foreshadowing

EARTH AS RIJU YESSS. And monty being her personal guard. Earth gets the power of lightning! Which fits because her hair is a cloud.

maybe raura and co could be ppl from other dimensions? Not everyone has to be a character but i do think that could be interesting

bloodmoon as kilton/kolton is just about the most perfect thing

Okay but on a serious note the episode was fantastic! The voice acting was incredible. Stabbed me right in the heart, especially Earth's crying.

I hope there's an episode soon where they all grieve and cry as a family.

Such sad little babies.

He's stuck in a field of corpses, his loved ones dead at his feet.

All his family dies of the disease him and his dead brother were gifted at birth, a curse passed down over and over again.

There's a hollow place where Sun's heart should be.

Sun wishes he was numb to grief, but Solar's death still hurts deep inside him, in the empty void within his chest.

(yikes, the latest sams ep... ouch. tomorrow's laes ep is gonna hurt too. but i'm ready! I wanna see how Sun handles telling Lunar and Earth.)
