Repair Canon A1 with squeaking shutter

I tried to repair my Canon A1 with squeaking shutter with the following method and some gun oil (Balistol) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90eAbMq9h4Q While this worked in the past, it did not work anymore. So I took more drastical measures: https://youtu.be/XarY-Hk12wg Now it works fine. So far no problems due to the high amount of oil.

Building Lineage OS 14.1 for serranoltexx on OpenSuse 42.1

Make sure to have:

- >50GB of disk space - Fast internet

Install repo

curl https://storage.googleapis.com/git-repo-downloads/repo > ~/bin/repo chmod a+x bin/repo 

In your desired build directory do:

repo init -u https://github.com/LineageOS/android.git -b cm-14.1 repo sync

This will update the repositories. Take a long walk

Install SuSe packages for build process

sudo zypper install android-tools bc bison build-essential curl flex git gnupg gperf libesd-devel liblz4-1 ncurses-devel libSDL-devel python-wxWidgets-devel libxml2-2 libxml2-tools lzop java-1_8_0-openjdk java-1_8_0-openjdk-devel schedtool squashfs libxslt1 zip zlib-devel make gcc-c++ glibc-devel-32bit ncurses-devel-32bit readline-devel-32bit libz1-32bit

Getting the device specific files

Clone the git repository with the device specific files

git clone https://github.com/TheMuppets/proprietary_vendor_samsung.git --depth=1

Put the directory in your build directory under vendor/samsung

Building the image

In your build directory do:

source build/envsetup.sh breakfast serranoltexx croot brunch serranoltexx

If you have not enough (not 8GB) of RAM

Because my computer had only 4GB of RAM I had to do the following things as well Change 

vim ~/.jack-server/config.properties

to have only one jack instance jack.server.max-service=1

Increase the size of the jack process by using

export JACK_SERVER_VM_ARGUMENTS=“-Dfile.encoding=UTF-8 -XX:+TieredCompilation -Xmx8096m” out/host/linux-x86/bin/jack-admin start-server

And I had to add 14GB swap space by doing:

sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=/home/swapfile1 bs=1024 count=14000000 sudo chmod 0600 /home/swapfile1 sudo mkswap /home/swapfile1 sudo swapon /home/swapfile1

If something goes wrong

You can reset the repo by using

repo forall -vc “git reset --hard”

You can remove all your build files by doing

make clobber
