too many people taking that article and saying “this is why i won’t listen to anyone who has any criticisms of veilguard, it’s not the devs’ fault” you can still have issues with the writing and tone and inconsistencies even knowing that there’s a reason for a lot of these things. the dev cycle being a horrendous nightmare does not mean that the game is immune to any and all critique

Its the fact even Spite says Rook does not close doors, they open them

Its the fact that Rook is supposed to be the first guard you meet in Lucanis' mind and even Spite says it could never work in any shape

Its the fact that even as low as Lucanis is feeling about himself, he cant in any part of his head or heart put Rook in a place of keeping him locked in somewhere

Its the fact they he knows that Rook will ALWAYS be the one busting the doors down to get to the people they care about / to save others and even his self loathing cant make him see Rook as anything but that
