Artemis: *walking through the woods, searching for one of her dogs* Lycaea! Lycaea, where have you gotten to, you stubborn girl?
Ares: *in the distance* Who’s the bloodthirstiest little puppy on Olympus? You are!
Artemis: *confused, creeping closer* What the-
Ares: *not noticing her, on the ground scratching the dog’s belly while it wriggles happily* Haha, you are so adorable! Look at you, you’re such a cute widdle baby! Oh, yes, you are, yes, you-
Artemis: Ahem.
Ares: *jumps out of his skin and bolts upright, keeping his gaze averted as his face flushes* I… I wasn’t doing anything.
Artemis: *raises an eyebrow* Sure you weren’t.
*They stare at each other awkwardly for a few moments, with the dog panting as she returns to Artemis’ side.*
Ares: …Not a word about this to anyone.
Artemis: I wouldn’t even know where to begin telling this story.

I know Zeus being a sore loser is a very popular headcanon, and I love it myself, but he is also the God of Justice so he can’t really show himself being a sore loser if his opponent wins fair and square. That wouldn’t be very just of him.
Instead of throwing a tantrum, my version of Zeus goes full lawyer and tries to find some kind of loophole to prove his opponent cheated and he is the True Winner. He will not give up until he proves why he is right and why he should win.

Hermes and Persephone are besties, and no one can convince me otherwise. I will die on this hill.
When Persephone is in the Underworld, Hermes delivers messages between her and Demeter and keeps Persephone updated on all the Olympian gossip. Especially in the beginning of her captivity marriage, he was a big support to her, helping her still feel connected to her mother and her home.
When Persephone is on Olympus, any time not spent with Demeter is usually spent with Hermes. They walk through the gardens together, sharing stories and laughing. Persephone is one of the few who can keep Hermes in check while still remaining patient and tolerating all of his pranks and awful jokes.
Hermes is one of the only constants in Persephone’s life with her dual nature. Whether she’s with her husband or with her mother, he’s always there to lend a listening ear and make her smile.

Hermes (during his psychopomp job): *sees a shade with a spear going through his chest*
Hermes: Let me guess…… drowning?
Shade: -_-
Hermes: *wheezes like a dying horse for, like, the whole ride to the Underworld*
Shade (thinking): Merciful Gods, please let me die again.

I’ve grown really attached to the idea of Athena being a mentor figure to Ares.
She taught him how to hold a spear, how to use an enemy’s weakness against them, how to win a war the most effective way, and he hung onto her every word.
His first battle comes, and he becomes so drunk on the bloodlust and violence that he forgets all of Athena’s teachings, and decides this is the path he wants to go on.
That’s when their relationship becomes strained; they’re always fighting on opposite sides, but they still remember those times before Ares became the God of War.
And they’ll always cherish those memories.
