Yukio and Homare. My weird ship of the day.
I know this is a weird ship, but honestly, now that Rin has Shiemi. I feel the urge to pick someone for Yukio.
Tumblr media
My pick is Homare Todo. Because Yukio and Homare would speak the same love language. (Recovering demon protectors in need of a purpose outside of dedicated service. Two people who need to live for themselves, and are in desperate need of forging an identity of their own.)
Yukio and Homare are forced to act like adults too soon, both extremely cunning and most likely demon-eaters. Both were weighed down by the expectations of family, authority, and an overwhelming sense of responsibility. Both of them are the protectors of overpowered demonic beings. Yukio is trained to protect Rin, and Homare is left in charge of Lucifer.
Both are highly skilled in demon magic and combat. Homare is the female Yukio...I gotta say. They parallel.
Homare is a bit older than Yukio, though. She was maybe five or six years old during the blue night, which puts her at around 21-22 years old? But five years isn't a significant age gap.

Aoex fanfic.
I wrote fan fiction about Shiro, and since the manga is on hiatus, it's something to read. I dunno.
What happens if Shiro doesn't die in the first chapter? In this fic, Shiro travels back in time with the Kamakakushi key to alter the past to save his kids and Assiah. Only Mephisto is one step ahead of him, has predicted everything, and plays with Shiro in a cat-and-mouse game.
This story takes place in an alternate timeline to the one in the manga, or maybe it's more like a reimagined one.
Ships: Mephisto/Shura, Mephisto/Shiro, Yuri/Shiro.
Plots:
Lewin Light is Shiro's secret lovechild.
Rin and Yukio are Shiro's real kids.

Did Yuri's soul die? Maybe she can be revived.
I'm re-reading the manga. I see the part where Satan destroys Yuri's soul.
It got me thinking about Lucifer and the demon kings in general. Returning to primitive times in Assiah, the demon kings had no ego or sentience. They didn't evolve into functioning beings we know them until humans manifested the idea of individual demonic gods into existence. The more they worshipped them, the stronger they became.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We see this happen again with Satan while he was still the Rinka. Satan's energy is drawn to Yuri Egin (for what reason we don't know) and learns intelligence through his interactions with her. Eventually, his ego develops because of her love and attention.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
LUCIFER
Lucifer regenerates quickly because people care about and idolize him.
He regenerates quickly because he has so many believers.
After the Blue Night, Lucifer was killed by Shemihaza and disappeared. When Mephisto appears in Gehenna to strike a deal with Satan, Lucifer is nowhere to be found.
But suddenly, out of nowhere, Lucifer appears and claims he could regenerate quickly because he has "so many believers."
This situation makes the connection that whatever happens in Assiah has a positive or negative effect on what happens in Gehenna, both places being mirror worlds. More specifically, human believers in Assiah can keep demons powerful and relevant in Gehenna. If humans stopped worshipping or believing in specific demons, they would lose their ego and go back to nothing more than mindless power. (Much like an early Rinka.)
Tumblr media
So let's get back to Yuri Egin, does this idea of love, worship and believers also affect human souls?
Was it Satan that destroyed Yuri's soul, or a combination of things?
Mephisto labels Yuri a witch and a traitor, so all of her textbooks on demon training are considered contraband and hidden away. All the Section 13 survivors are forced into a Mornath contract and forbidden to discuss the Blue Night and Section 13. All of Yuri's closest friends die. Some survivors don't even remember the night at all.
These people will never speak of Yuri Egin again; in Assiah, she is forever erased from existence. Her children don't know anything about her, and Shiro doesn't tell them....
Only four people would remember her. Granny Shemihaza, who dies from a terrible accident, Shiro, Shura and Mephisto. That leaves her group of "believers" very, very tiny. Shura barely remembers her.
Now, it's pretty bad news for Yuri.
She's been erased in Assiah and Gehenna. Her body is Assiah, and her soul in Gehenna.
But I don't think all hope is lost. If Rin and Yukio embrace who their mother was and change the wrongful narrative surrounding her, I see her soul regaining its strength and ego. Mephisto has done Yuri a solid by reintroducing Rin to her in the past. The truth has been released from its tomb. After everything that's happened to Yuri, Mephisto better work as hard as possible to rebuild her legacy.
Knowing her boys love her might be the only catalyst she needs to manifest and return.

Nemu Takara, Neuhaus and Mephisto's secret Laboratory: Theories.
You know, I had another weird theory about Nemu Takara.
So...I always thought Nemu Takara was a kid from the future, maybe even Shura's kid. Because his whereabouts are a mystery, and Mephisto couldn't be more coy about it. The kid doesn't come from anywhere, and has no ties to the True Cross Order. Nemu is a big unexplained mystery.
But what if he's a kid from this timeline, with an undocumented birth?
Remember that Neuhaus's wife was pregnant? She dies during the blue night, and Neuhaus is seen carrying her dead body away. It was assumed that both his wife and child perished during the Blue Night but what if Neuhaus was able to save his child? He was an expert in demon elixirs, and the regeneration of the dead flesh. It sounds macabre, but that was Neuhaus's specialty in section 13.
What we do know.
After the Blue Night, Neuhaus continued his research in a secret lab, suspended in time from the old section 13. Mephisto created this secret lab, no doubt with all the old research intact, even though he said it was "destroyed." (Mephisto lets Lightning peruse all the research with Ryuji later on.)
So, the entire section was saved, just compartmentalized in a time void, with Neuhaus in complete control of it.
Is Takara Neuhaus's kid? Maybe?
Neuhaus probably asked Mephisto for a favour (which usually results in less than favourable results). What if Mephisto let Neuhaus keep his research and experiments intact to save his wife and child? What if Mephisto agreed, under the condition that he promised to continue the work on secret exorcist weapons? New demonic vessels? What if the child was born with a terrible curse?
It would stand to reason, that Neuhaus's child would suffer from an affliction similar to Yukios. Satan's temptaint enters and escapes through the eyes. During the Blue Night, Satan possessed Neuhaus and his blue lightning jumped from Neuhaus's eye, killing his wife. (Regardless, Neuhaus must be scary strong, because he didn't die, his body must be on par with the Grigori Nephilium).
A temptaint from Satan expresses itself through the eyes. Yukio's temptaint was not as strong as Takara's, because he caught it from Rin, who was only a half-demon child of Satan. It only affects one of Yukio's eyes. Takara got the full force of Satan himself when he attacked his mother during the Blue Night. Therefore, both of Takara's eyes were affected.
When Takara opens his eyes, he could unleash Gehenna's full power on whomever tries to harm him (similar to Yukio only waaay stronger.) He might also be a portal directly into Gehenna, it's not clear. This is why Mephisto keeps Takara asleep with a stuffed rabbit familiar. The kid can't open his eyes, or Satan sees everything. (Yukio is lucky that he can patch one of his eyes.)
Shima saw the Satanic temptaint when he tried to attack Takara during the Illuminati arc. Takara was immune to the black power of Armumahel because, like Rin and Yukio, he is indirectly a child of Satan and is immune to black, blue, and red flames.
If Mephisto was looking for a superweapon, Rin pales in comparison to what Takara offers. Rin and Yukio, as a matter of fact, are just a big distraction. Satan is so focused on those two that he might not have noticed Takara exists.
Why else would Mephisto take a special interest in protecting Takara? The kid is family. Neuhaus has a very German name and has a temptaint associated with resurrecting dead things. Death is the kin of Time.
Neuhaus, I think, is Mephisto's son. And Nemu Takara is Mephisto's grandson.
What other research did Neuhaus undertake? We have no idea, but we know that Mephisto is in desperate need of a new vessel for Satan (maybe even himself) and if my theories on that are correct. It has something to do with Shiro. (Did Shiro die, or did he get the Drac Dragulescu makeover? Maybe Neuhaus found the way to upload the ego and soul of a person to a new body without that gruesome head transplant crap. But who knows.)
Drac Dragulescu's research may appear advanced, but I bet it's leaps and bounds behind Neuhaus's. Mephisto, after all, is just as wealthy as the Illuminati. And the experiments never stopped. Drac had to start over with only one completed replicant, and the Illuminati lab was rebuilt (highly suggestive that it's hidden somewhere in or under the Garden of Armahara and guarded by the Uzai. (This is why Granny Shemihaza left with her child and grandchild to be under Mephisto's protection in Japan.)
Anyway, is Takara Igor Neuhaus' kid? Thoughts on this theory?

Who is Mephisto's Nephilim? More theories...
So, we have this new character in the game. It has to be Mephisto's kid. The character's description also gave me so many breadcrumbs that reminded me of other canon characters.
His name translated into "Child Time."
-He has purple/magenta hair
-He wears whimsical clothing
-he collects knickknacks that are possibly kin demons or familiars.
-He's called "Child Time"? Well, that's a huge giveaway.
Tumblr media
Regarding "Child Time's" character description, he has a couple of traits like Lightning. He's got a weird perversion towards demons. He also has odd character flaws, such as being a troublemaker and a heretic.
Tumblr media
Yeah, so this guy and Lightning.....
I always thought Lightning came from a line of Mephisto's human Nephiliums. The fact that Mephisto has difficulty outsmarting Lightning is a big clue that they are family. Both live to manipulate other people. They use their powers of deduction to force a particular narrative. Mephisto rewinds time to try and understand how human emotions can be pushed to his advantage. Lightning can straight-up read people...even Mephisto. Lightning admits he has trouble feeling empathy, but he can judge and weigh the reactions of others to predict their actions. Powerful stuff.
This demon/human love dichotomy comes from Mephisto's side of the family. He's fascinated with humans and has bonded/integrated with them. Despite the protests from both demons and humans in Mephisto's world, opposites attract. Not only that, but Mephisto believes in the survival of Assiah and maintains this delicate balance between humans and demons, no matter the cost—even if that means human cloning and gruesome experiments to stop Lucifer from blowing the world up. Humans and demons must coexist no matter what.
Lightning is precisely the same as Mephisto; his interest is switched only because he's human. He obsesses over demons. Lightning has a pervy fascination with demons and tries to make friends with them, and he also tries to tame/bend them to his will. He believes that demons and humans need to work together for survival. Lightning also will do anything to save Assiah, no matter the cost. A few casualties along the way are unimportant as long as he succeeds and gets results.
Tumblr media
It's only natural that Mephisto's family shares this type of heretical behaviour. We repeatedly see the heretics pop up, and these exorcists are often despised by purists of the order.
Getting Back to Lightning. He's not just Mephisto's family...
I also believe Lightning is a descendant of Azazel...maybe even Shiro's love child.
Lightning has the same violent tendencies as Shiro and the same demon-like lack of empathy. Shiro and Lightning learned human feelings slowly over time, and it took caring and patient humans to develop them —Yuri with Shiro and Osceola with Lewin. Love and kindness don't come easy for an Azazel descendant.
If Rin and Yukio turn out to be Shiro's real sons at the end of the manga, it would explain why Mephisto called Rin's birth operation "Blue Lightning."
The kid is a cross between Shiro and Satan. Mephisto was trying to make another baby with Shiro's DNA. Only this version of Lightning was imbued with Satan's blue flames: Blue Lightning.
But how did this happen? This is one of the big secrets/plot twist, which will be revealed in the manga later.
Mephisto has been trying to make a weapon, a child with all the tools at his disposal to stop Satan and Lucifer. Yuri is so important that she gives Rin the "Heart" that the Azazel family lacked. We know it's the thing that balances out good/vs evil. That loving feeling needs to be honest, too; that's why Mephisto didn't save Abel Franken from Satan's possession. The guy lacked genuine empathy, and his first choice to deal with a demon baby was to torture it continuously. (Seriously, fuck that guy.)
What we don't know is Yuri's heritage. She's resistant to blue flames, which points to Armumahel. She loves demons and is a heretic, which points to Mephisto. She's named after the demon of Water, but why? She can also control and create golems/green men, which points to Amaimon and Shemihaza. Maybe Yuri is a Nephilum of all of them? If you think about it, Mephisto needs a kid to take on Satan, that rivals the power of Satan. Because Satan is made up of all the powers of the Sol and the demon kings combined, this child would need to have all of that heritage. Being the 1/2-blood Son of Satan isn't enough.
The crappy thing for Mephisto, Yuri had twins, and the powers were inherited unequally. If the boys were one person, they'd have all the cards in the deck, but they are split in two. Mephisto had to try again to make the perfect Nephilum, and I think that guy is Nemu Takara.
So, (holy crap, did I go off on a tangent), getting back to this "Child Time" character. Is this what Meppy's kid looks like without the "Shiro" part. And who's the other half of his parentage? Curious.

Human souls uploaded into clones.
Tumblr media
We know that somehow Drac did find away to upload his soul into a new clone body.
It is possible to save a human as well as a demon if a body is waiting for them. Shiro somehow knew about it even here. He's wondering how Drac survived when everyone else died, during the Blue Night.
This means that Mephisto knew about it too, and which makes me beg the question. Is Shiro really dead?
I always thought that Shiro should be the best person to take on Satan. and tame him. You need a strong soul to control the King of demons. But by the time Shiro's soul got mature enough to consider the possibility, his body was too old.
Uploading Shiro into a new body would be a good idea. Especially if it saves Rin and Yukio from a terrible fate.
I still think Shiro returning is a viable option in the manga.

Yuri Egin
Man, they can't let Yuri Egin get fucked over like that.
Shiro, Satan treated her like garbage, and Mephisto let it all happen because he's running the "human experiment."
I've read this in the manga but the anime makes it even sadder and unjust. I hate throwing female characters under the bus to advance the soul-building of male characters.
This better not be the "real" timeline. This can't be allowed to stand.
A bunch of men manipulating Yuri's kindness while she tries to save the world (and them), while being forced to suffer over and over.
Fuck that.
I bet it's not the real timeline.
Mephisto made it extra bad to manipulate Rin as much as possible.
I bet it all gets changed....

Yuri, Rin and Yukio (Crack Theory.)
This is going to be unpopular. But what if Shiemi isn't allowed to fraternize with demons, especially Rin?
She is the new Shemihaza and one of the Sol, not a demon per se. The Shemihaza line is renowned for taming demons, a legacy that began with the taming of Amaimon.
But what if Yuri Egin was related to the Shemihaza family?
She has very similar personality traits and powers.
First, if Yuri Egin is somehow related to Shemihaza, she is also the unfortunate child of a demon (maybe Amaimon). I'm not saying any funny business happened between Amaimon and Shemihaza. It's canon that the Shemihaza combined her powers with the earth king to bind him in Assiah. It would stand to reason that the occasional child born to a Shemihaza might have some of Amaimon's traits, since the DNA has intermingled. Who knows, maybe Amaimon attempted to possess a child of Shemihaza to get a body, and corrupted the kid's DNA. But somehow the Uzai ended up with Yuri Egin and she was a mistake. Maybe even considered a curse.
Like the other Shemihazas, Yuri was a great tamer and loved golems and little green men. She was utterly fearless, which makes me believe she was initially meant to be the real Shemihaza. But when she was born, she had too many Amaimon traits.
Shemihaza abandoned Yuri, and gave her to an exorcist to raise. To keep the child safe, the man lived a transient lifestyle (Okumura). This ensured Yuri was hidden from Asylum and the Uzai. Initially, the Uzai probably ordered the child killed, but Shemihaza hid her instead. (Mephisto probably helped).
I believe the decision came back to haunt Shemihaza later when Yuri attracted Satan into Assiah. She must have truly believed that Yuri was a curse. Shemihaza must have felt responsible for the entire situation. To right a wrong, Shemihaza sped up Yuri's post-partum period and caused her to bleed to death. Thus, in theory, preventing Satan from returning.
The Uzai seem to have strict rules for each Shemihaza. They must keep boundaries between themselves and the demons. A child born of Amaimon would not be able to tame him. In fact, that child might take his side and cause him to rampage, which was extremely dangerous.
If this theory turns out to be true, it's a sticky situation for Rin Okumura.
That would make Rin and Yukio the first cousin of Shiemi Moriyama and part Shemihaza/part demon. The demon part couldn't be worse—it's Satan. The Uzai would never approve of any relationship between Rin and Shiemi.
This is why Shiemi has such confused feelings about Rin. Later on, I believe she must know the truth, or at least some of it, because it gets more awkward. She's creating more distance between herself and Rin.
Both Rin and Shiemi share a close connection, but it's because they are actually family. It's the Luke/Leia Skywalker situation, only with first cousins. That's why Yukio also finds a connection to her.
I feel bad for Rin. But if this were true, Yukio wouldn't need to endure the pain of losing Shiemi's love. Both Yukio and Rin would never lose it. She'd always be their cousin and she would always care about them.

I wonder if Abel somehow didn't measure up to Mephisto's expectations?
Abel didn't have much, if any empathy for demons regardless of how gifted he was. And seemed to hate demons just as much as a Shiro did.
It seems too, that Mephisto mentored Abel somewhat, but Abel's opinion regarding demons didn't change. The sorrow in Mephisto's eyes when Abel wanted to torture baby Rin's human body over and over...that was a look of pain; pain that his son wasn't fit for any future challenges, because he human heart was weak.
Maybe Abel was allowed to die because he couldn't learn, couldn't feel? Shiro meanwhile, did have feelings and could feel love and empathy, it took a long time, but it did happen. He broke his promise to Mephisto, he refused to kill a demon. That demon was baby Rin. It was a test, and Shiro passed that test successfully.
Who knows how many times Mephisto rewound the timeline hoping Abel would give a different answer....but nothing ever changes
I don't know if it's just me but...
Tumblr media
Doesn't he look almost tired? I know I've been hearing that this reaction is harsh (don't get me wrong it most definitely is to not even try to lift a finger to someone you presumably raised) but personally I think this is kind of him accepting or giving up on trying to save him. I can only imagine what it's like to watch someone die in countlesss timelines without being able to do much in it.
Not only that but he's a demon with morals strictly trying to create a future that benefits him and his goals, so yeah he's naturally more apathetic in general when it comes to death.
Tumblr media
He looks more melancholic than apathetic in this scene. That's just my opinion and personal theory though.
I really only noticed because I'm blind as a bat and blew up the comic pages to see LOL. I know I should wear glasses or contacts but they're uncomfortable haha
Honestly this was just a random ramble because I have no one to talk to about this...

Latest aoex Dub.
Shiro finally got his adult voice back.
Yeah, that's what ten years of smoking will do to you.
Interestingly, I caught a little tidbit. The events of that last episode happened ten years after Yuri kisses Shiro. Does that make her around 26 years old? That's almost Shura's age.
I hope that isn't a bad omen for Shura.
